Foodland - Ennismore

Best Grocery store in "All" the Kawartha's. The owners are super friendly and make a point of greeting their shoppers directly. Do you want old-timey personal grocers? Look no further, as I am old school I believe it deserves a mention that Foodland Ennismore (former IGA) has the prettiest cashiers, by far, & more importantly, they are kind, helpful, & knowledgeable. This grocery store also boasts the largest selection of Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream outside of the Dairy itself, with literally a dozen flavors in a large banquette devoted expressly to this task. I believe the "In-Store" specials also deserve a mention as they are above & beyond the chain-wide specials and often feature local farm vegetables/baked goods/fruit making this store a valuable part of this community

Veggies are fresh but the chicken. Dear lord, the chicken. It always smells rancid once I get it home in the fridge. I don't know if it's their coolers or what, but you're better off making the drive to Sobeyes if you need chicken.

I went in asking for the Bob Esponga chicken I saw online, the first representative I spoke to had no clue what Bob Esponga chicken even was, then John didn't know either but agreed to special order the chicken, I am very glad because they don't sell the Bob Esponga chicken anywhere i've checked in Ontario, I forgot to tip on the way out

Went in today which was the second time I had ever shopped there. Each time I have found the staff so unfriendly to the point of rude. Will drive to Bridge North or Peterborough.

Staff i came in contact with was good.store needs updating fruits were not fresh.lettuce was horrible.baked goods on date or few days till no good.

At least it's a grocery store close by the cottage. Crazy high prices, low stock, no local produce

I like shopping here! They have a helpful and friendly staff and the store is a manageable size so it is easy to quickly find what I need. Their weekly specials are good for stock ups. They have a good produce aisle and the butcher shop is helpful. I could possibly find some things a little cheaper in the BIG store, but I prefer to support a small family run business like this. Foodland Ennismore is my go to grocery stop!

Friendly staff. I always pre-order cheese buns when I head to the lake and they are so accommodating.

I love Ennismore Foodland! The owners are so lovely, helpful and accommodating! The store is clean and bright, and the staff is amazing! Always available to lend a helping hand, with a smile! I can tell that they love working there and that they are treated well! The produce section always looks fantastic every time I walk in the doors! Definitely the best small town grocery store I've been to! I go there every time I am in the area! Thanks to all for always giving me a wonderful shopping experience!

As a resident of Ennismore for the past 35 years, Foodland and the Patel family have been a part of this community for as long as I can remember. In fact I worked there when I was a teenager. I found the last review extremely offensive and hurtful, commenting that "they should honour our holidays or go back where they came from. " The Patel's have provided a convenient, clean and friendly store that has employed a lot of people over the years from this community and in my experience have been very accommodating to their employees. The store was not even open on Christmas Day so I'm not sure what this person was referring to. They were open Christmas eve, but so was every other store. (I'm sure they would have got complaints if they weren't open). I would like to thank the Patels and all of their employees for being such a committed staple in our community and for all of their hard work over the years.

The owner, Gord, is a great boss. He is sociable with his staff. He likes to make his employees feel comfortable and he really does care about people. He has been at the Ennismore Foodland for 40 years or more. He's an institution. He keeps the store in great shape.

Great friendly staff in this trying time worth a visit great selection. Maybe I should keep this hidden gem a secret but just have to say thanks.

I don't like the way they packege the asparagus instead of standing it in water. It's dried out and old looking. The rest of the store is ok.

Food prices and selection were good but the cashier named Wanda left a lot to be desired. My husband asked for $100 cash back to which she rolled her eyes and said she could only give him $50 bills. She refused to give smaller bills stating they had to last her all weekend. In my opinion as a store manager myself, she needs more interpersonal training. Very rude and not appreciated at all. I will not be returning to this store nor recommend this store to my friends who often camp at Emily Provincial Park.
