I was at the store on March 1st and the lady on staff was very rude in her response to my questions, it’s not the first time I’ve had an unsatisfactory encounter I thought it was the person having a bad day but it would appear not. I will not be purchasing anything in the future. Good customer service is how you get repeat business and referrals. Lesson 101.

In response to my review: thank you for attempting to address my concerns, however it's not my intention to violate insurance company policy so it's good to see that your establishment is following professional guidelines. I was not "disappointed" at the fact that high heels shoes are not orthopaedic shoes just puzzled and that's why I asked the question twice, and it's rather presumptive of you to assume that the young lady I was with is my daughter. Regardless there is never an excuse for the condescending, dismissive, and abrupt treatment by your member of staff. Ever!

Been meaning to get to this review for some time.

I think we dealt with the owner- because he was very knowledgeable and the service was great. However, I bought a pair of Clark Boots at the end of October and was told they are water proof. First snow storm in November and arrived to work with soaking feet. Not jumping in puddles or participating in outdoor activities. I walk down the street to the grocery store and I walk from my car to the office. If the ground is dry then no issues but if there is any moisture, soaked.

It's not a great feeling when you buy something that just didn't work.

Worst customer service, I have ever received. The lady was rude, abrupt and condescending. Thank god there are other shoe stores in Toronto, I will never come back here. Would give no stars if I could

I had better advice from Jennifer in Foot Sensation than I did from my physiotherapist. Top tip for my sore feet (which my physiotherapist didn't tell me) : DON'T GO BAREFOOT. Wear Birkenstocks at every standing moment, day or night. So I bought a pair and followed her advice and my feet were better within the month. It took a long time of non supportive indoor and outdoor footwear to get to this point - and it will take awhile to get back to happy feet - but I now know where to go to update my shoe wardrobe. I was in this week to purchase a pair of New Balance which I wear with my innersoles, and a pair of plastic Birks to wear in the shower and at the pool. Next month, boots! Thank you Jennifer and Foot Sensation. I searched Toronto high and low and you were there, in my neighbourhood, all along. Advice? Do it right, save a lot of money in the long run and go straight to the high street shop where they know what they're doing and offer great selection of footwear. I'm totally smitten.

When I spoke to the lady on the phone, I was informed that I wasn't allowed to buy orthotics from this place because of my insurance company and even on my own they wouldn't sell them to me.

I have had problems with foot pain for many years. About ten years ago I found Chung Shi shoes from S. Korea worked for me when nothing else did, including expensive custom orthotics. But then the Canadian suppliers of this shoe stopped carrying the product.

A good friend referred me to Gaston Pelletier of Foot Sensation and I am so glad that she did. Gaston listened carefully to my needs and spent a good deal of time matching different shoes and inserts to my needs. The result was that I purchased four pairs of shoes. I bought a pair of Finn Comfort shoes and a pair of Finn Comfort sandals that work very well for casual wear around town and around the house.

The real excitement, though, is for the two pair of Xsensation Stretchwalkers that he recommended I try. I wore the Xsensation SWX3 (with super puffy foam heel cushions) for a long day of walking on concrete and asphalt along the Toronto waterfront with absolutely no discomfort that day or the next. These are now my "go to" shoes for extensive urban walking on hard surfaces!

I wore the Xsensation New York shoes with extra internal supports yesterday to walk a three kilometer trail up and down hills in the forest - again with no discomfort either yesterday or today. For me that is nothing short of remarkable. I have finally found a shoe that can replace the comfort of my old Chung Shi shoes!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I submitted a claim for shoes (about $400) to my insurance company and the claim was rejected. When I spoke the an employee about my issue they said there was nothing that they could do to help. I have shopped at other orthopedic shoe stores before and I have never had this problem. I am now out $400!

Expert shoe fitting by Gaston (Certified Pedorthist). Very good selection of shoes for difficult to fit feet. Very personable service.

It is true that they carry a good selection of shoes, like other stores of its kind. But some of the staff (esp.old French accent guy), are extremely rude, impatient and unfriendly. My griefd say same thing. Like they dont want our business. I certainly don't want to return. The female is nicer.

Just couldn't deal with the rude customer service. Looking at the other reviews (sort by most recent) reveals a trend.
