Forrat's Chocolate Lounge

After the last visit today, the new style that they are doing is terrible, I’ve been customer for years but definitely they will lose customers. Cheap

Food was amazing but I miss the old atmosphere of a “lounge”. The fondue also came in a takeout container and not in an actual fondue pot which took away from the experience.

Coming from a server… i cant believe the service my group and i got.our server took a while to come to us, and after we were given waters she left for a very long time.when she came to take our orders she didn’t say anything and just stood there silently until we noticed her.i don’t even know her name.did not see a smile the entire night.a few of us asked for dry to dry substitutions and by the time the food finally came (which was literally like 20 extra minutes) the substitutions were wrong.she did not apologize and did not give a single care that she messed up.we said it was fine because she did not say a word and just walked away with a grim look.she did not visit our table again and we had to ask another employee for our bills.cant believe she was a server in the first place.your store should have better representation.

We ordered hot chocolate and Forrats Brownie. The brownie was super delicious with the chocolate and cookie dough ice cream. The initial person who welcomed us and took our order was extremely polite and wonderful. But later, while we were having our food one of the waitress approached ONLY US and not any other table who were there before us and completed their food, to take our plates and drink while we had food left in the plate and eating them. This made us feel a bit of racism as we were the only brown people there in the crowd. So we left 2 mins after that without ordering more.

BUT, the food is extremely delicious and the price is also affordable.

We would have had best experience if we had not faced this incident.

Went with a friend last night it was SO cute. Delicious menu but VERY sweet. We each ordered a crepe, her the Caramelt my Heart myself the The Triple Threat, and we split the Halal chocolate fondue. We ended up ordering extra fruit, the quality was 10/10. I’m not lying when I say it’s sweet though, make sure you get a glass of water on the side

Food is good, service is so bad it’s unbelievable. I asked the hostess “hello how are you today? ” she said good.for 2? Then I politely asked if we could sit in a booth because there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant to which she sighed then agreed. It took about 15 minutes to put our orders in, which we got fairly quickly, but the waitress didn’t come up to our table even once after that. From our booth, we could see the hostess and server chatting the entire time paying no attention to the 3 tables in the restaurant. 20 minutes after finishing our desserts, still no one came up to clear our plates or ask if we needed the bill.we decided to just walk up to the front to pay. I’d recommend training your staff on how to give people a pleasant dining experience and not keep them waiting.

It was the first time we went to this place.

I was disappointed with the no sharing policy. I understand that businesses shall have different policies to support thier business models but telling your patrons they can't share is not welcoming.

Lastly, I ordered a hot chocolate that took approximately 20 mins to make and by the time it was served it wasn't hot but warm.

My experience wasn't enjoyable.

Not here to spread negativity - only some tough love. I started dining at forrat’s when they very first opened. I had bring everyone I knew. I supported them many times during covid, I was there when they launched the amazing chocolate eggs, the unique and delicious ice cream, breakable chocolate hearts, and my favourite waffle “the triple threat”. Unfortunately as years went on, things were not the same. There was no more waffles being made, no triple threat, the Easter eggs were no longer, and the ice cream vanished. The food quality decreased
And prices started to go up, pretty high. But new parts of the business started, and then ended. I understand there are struggles, totally. Especially after covid. I do understand prices have to go up to keep up with the quality. But removing successful menu items and bringing up prices does not seem right. As someone who supported and loves this business, it sucks to see. I am not here to speak negatively, I am just here to say that I see new business focuses come and go while leaving the old “good stuff” behind. As a marketing professional, I think you could have new promoting opportunities while keeping the old stuff and targeting your correct demographic. I think stepping back, and focussing on targeting the right demographic is important. Students are a large part of your demographic. You can do this by tailoring your branding, food, and social media content towards them. I am only speaking on what I am seeing from the outside looking in. I hope you find a way to keep foratt’s growing like the successful business I know they are/can be. I am not trying to bring Forrat’s down, I am only trying to help by giving my honest opinion. I hope 2023 is your year, I will be cheering for you!

I used to have a good experience visiting this place, even sharing with the owner.but it was very different yesterday. Food and service was not the best. Hoping you could fix your deficiencies and wishing you the best.

I have gone here for the first time a few months back in autumn season 2022 for my brother’s birthday. It has a lot of good flavours of chocolate and French inspired crepes. I went here since my relatives wants anything near by for desserts in the Masonville area, and I choose to come here; which is across from the mall. Please note that there is no sharing utensils and policy of this business. For me, I would accept that and not cross contaminate of the dishes when shared. It taste really good and reminds me you are in a Willy Wonka fantasy. I like everything on the menu, and I remember having the chocolate dips and crepes. I will try the Brazilian one in the future. I recommend this dessert place in the Masonville area. Will visit again soon.

I’ve been going to this place for years and I am always happy with the quality of my crepe or fondue! The service takes very long for dine in at times but I’ve been ordering take out during this lockdown and have been super satisfied!

Delicious dessert (especially the lemon fresh crepe) amazing cozy place and great welcoming staff no wonder this place is always busy! I recommend it to everyone is looking towards a great experience!

Loved all the food tonight and will definitely be back! The grilled cheese crepe is a must try. Also enjoyed chicken crepe + triple threat dessert crepe. All amazing.

There crepe and waffle “forrat” are so good was trying to find something like that for a long time in london.

Adding on that, there hospitality are super good too.

Highly recommended.

First time here since the pandemic. I am not a fan of the new waffle shape. Not sure if the recipe has been changed, but the edges are weirdly hard.

Terrible service, came in at about 8pm and didn’t receive our desserts until 9: 15. We asked why everyone else was receiving their desserts before us when they arrived way after we did. Server stated that it’s a “first come first serve” basis and whoever comes first receives their orders first. Desserts not as high end as we expected, waited over an hour for a small plate of snacks to dip into half a mug of melted chocolate. Tasted fine but I feel as if I could’ve prepared this at home. This was my first time going to a place like this as well, we don’t have any where I am from. Way overpriced for me as well considering there is a no sharing policy. Disappointing experience over all. Also this is not meant to be rude in anyway, I see that the owner may respond but this was my experience and my opinion.

Our server was very attentive! The charcuterie board was phenomenal (had to order some more toast, to be with all the goodies). Milk chocolate fondue was fantastic! Definitely should have ordered more chips!

I write this cause I want this place to be better and I like good crepes.

The waiters are nice and the place has good decoration, I only with their savory desserts were less salty and their sweet ones, less sweet.

I love Forrat's! It is such a unique experience. The owner/chef is amazing. He ensures to personally check in with every customer and chats with them. I last went about a month ago, and the experience was amazing. Excellent customer service. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

Chocolate fondue, what's not to enjoy? !? Its a cozy joint, not too busy which is nice. The servings were generous, so we only needed to order one fondue for the two of us, but it was delicious! Other items on the menu looked great as well, such as the crepes! We did have to order a second item as they have a policy of one item per person at a table, but the shakes are amazing as well. Would definitely go back there.

Terrible customer service. Showed up like regular customers, after being asked if we had reservations and we advise we didn’t have any. The host says dishes will take up to one hour to be serve; not giving an explanation as to why or backing it up with a reason for the delay, they were okay with us walking out. It was just me and my husband not like we had walked in with a big group. Won’t be visiting or recommending this place in the future.

The dessert place you CAN’t MISS in London! The shake is amazing, the milk chocolate fondue is the BEST ever and the Ham&cheese crepe kills! Must have a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Great prices and great options. Had the chocolate fondue and my guests each had crepes and they were so rich and good. Service was a little slow but they were very busy.

Such a great place! Whether you are with family, friends, significant other it’s perfect! It was great service and atmosphere, and the chocolate fondue was absolutely delicious. Our favourite was the white and milk chocolate. We got the fusion with extra brownies and Oreos lol, definitely worth it! And for 2 people it was only $20 plus tip:)

Amazing food, very nice staff and the atmosphere is beautiful. I do wish you would switch from Styrofoam take out containers to something more environmentally friendly though. No pictures because inhaled everything.

Amazing staff and atmosphere. I have taken people on dates here, had family gatherings and even just stopped for pickup of their delicious chocolates. I can't recommend Forrats enough to any Chocolate lover. It's more on the expensive side (I'm a broke student) but well worth every penny.

This was our second time to Forrat's. The chocolate they serve is amazing. Our server was very nice, but we asked about sharing the fusion fondue as we were full (had just come from dinner) and whether it was big enough to share. She told us it was very small and recommended we order something else. The fusion fondue dish is definitely big enough to share between two people. I felt like we were coaxed into getting another dish which we then just had to wrap up because it was too much food.

I was given the Chocolate covered licorice as a gift.wow! These are amazing and I highly recommend them. Against my better judgement I shared one with a friend. I was sad I had one less to eat and he was upset I only gave him one. Definitely a must try.

Went to Forrat’s twice now and find it horribly overpriced for the purchased items. Tried the cheese fondue ($100) to be split w four people. It was SO overpriced. They only serve bread and cheese and it’s way too much for four people and leads to waste.they should allow splitting between more people or decrease the cost of it and the quantity. Do not recommend the cheese fondue at all!
Also got crepes twice, it’s 13-15 dollars for a literal crepe w chocolate drizzle. There is no stuffing in the crepes or accompanied fruits etc. Definitely not the worth the price, especially in comparison to other crepe places.
Overall I would not recommend for cheese fondue or crepes as it’s largely overpriced and quality is not at the price they’re asking.

We have always loved Forrats
We used to goto the one in Byron all the time.
We took some people out for bdays and dropped some decent coin
We had 20 in gc given to us awhile ago apparently these were bought for us in byron the place in masonville refused to accept them saying those were old owners.
If you take the name, layout and food concepts and open up 2 stores with that you really should accept the gc sold in the business name

Firstly five stars 6 if i could, Marc is the most nice and humble man he treats his guests as family and is very open to all cultures i enjoy his crepes very fresh with a nice hot coco

High-quality desserts served by the friendliest staff. Forrat's goes above and beyond not just in serving their customers, but in serving the community too. It's a must-try!

Honestly, the chocolate is like every other chocolate I have tasted. It’s over priced desserts. The owner seems very very cheap. The idea that one cannot share their dish.just ridiculous. I want to share with my spouse and have some coffee, but I am not allowed? Funny, Williams lets you share, other restaurants let you share, but Forrat’s wont let you? Also, they essentially pressure everyone at the table to purchase something. The owner will call it business. I call it being cheap. I wont go back, and I will def tell everyone else not to as well. Let this be a lesson to all business owners, do not be CHEAP.

Yummy chocolate. I had the fondue, which comes in milk, dark or white for 12$. It's pretty big but they charge an extra 7$ if you want to share.

The restaurant was a bit dusty which was distracting and made me wonder a bit about cleanliness. If they let the front of house get dirty, how much are they cleaning behind the scenes?

Came here on a friends recommendation and was glad to try this place out. Honestly people should give reviews on the service and food which was 5 stars.
You can see the prices going in and to give a bogus review on price alone is not fair or right.
Owners were friendly and helpful.

The waffles and crepes dishes were full of flavor and the hot chocolate was the best by far.

We had the Cheese Fondue and it was very pricey and we knew that going in. However we do think that instead of unlimited bread we should have had a small meat platter and a small vegetable platter with one bowl of bread.
We did enjoy it but believe in the future we will stick with the dessert fondues.

I've been there for business as well as with friends and every time the food has been great as is the wait staff. In the several times I've been, theres been two dishes that had the incorrect chocolate on them and when brought to the wait staff's attention it was rectified straight away without any hesitation.

Undoubtedly we will be back.
