Fortinos

At carvery they are handling food and cash back and forth with same gloves. It’s disgusting.

I order online and pickup. As usual, everything is correct. Fruits and veggies are perfect. All item are correct.

Fortinos Waterdown is my favourite local store. I usually bike there when the weather allows it. There’s a place in front of the store where I can securely lock my bicycle. The staff goes above and beyond my expectations. I love the huge selection of whole, organic, sustainable and local foods. The natural beauty section is also remarkable. The kind employees and the shopping experience always add to my life.

Nice enough grocery store stopped to grab something out of their hot buffet tables for lunch with friends large selection but somewhat pricey but that's to be exspected.

I have been shopping here for many years. The renovation and addition has been a bonus and has added to the atmosphere. The store is well maintained, I have never had any issue with the employees. Any concern that has been brought forward has been handled as I would expect as a paying customer. I like to shop for the sale items and take advantage of that to curb the high grocery prices. There are always items available on sale.

I live the renovations and all the food options. Just great. The Pane Fresco pizza is good but not great. Seems pricey for what they offer and lack of customization. But everything everything else is great.

After waiting so long for the expansion to be completed it is sad to see things go down hill. There are so few people in store I'm afraid of buying fish or meat there. The pene Fresco food area is empty. How can any of this food be fresh?

Their prices are so high, their products are identical to their budget store NoFrills and competitor Wal-Mart. So much product is private label, few choices.

New updates to the store look good. Could use more of a organic section but can't complain

Customer service is below par at Waterdown location. Why are all parm cheese pieces cut so large at this location? I asked the cheese counter person to cut it in half as that is all I needed. And if she would cut the edge off since it is so hard to shred. She refused and said we charge you for this so I can't do it.
This isn't my first bad experience here. I will take my business eleswhere

The best Fortinos around and I don't even live near it. I always stop in when in that neck of the woods.

Amazing location since completion of their renovations.the lunch bistro items and sushi counter is the perfect option on a short lunch break.the pricing is great too.

Love the new store, lots of products, panfresco is the best, but most of the staff are fantastic, dairy a young fellow was very help don't know his name, I will ask te next time I see him. The front-end staff are also great especially Andrew and Gail, they are the best great sense of humor and excellent customer service.

Wow! This location has undergone a major expansion and renovation, a transformation really. All of the Pane Fresco services and prepared foods are now available and with expansion, the aisles are more spacious and sure seems like there are more products available here. I particularly like that the main grocery aisles are named for streets in Waterdown village - a nice touch. The expansion has also added staff and they are wonderful - helpful, friendly and cheerful. Makes the chore of grocery shopping delightful. Thank you!

They have updated their store it is a great experience now, they have a beer selection and they have great food selections too

The two ladies at the floral arrangement station are incredible: provided excellent recommendations and customer service!
10/10. Not my local fortinos, but would come back for flowers just for these two’s expertise.

Love this store but they need to put their shopping scooters near the entry door not at the far side of the store. Disabled people can't walk that far. I stopped going there because of that. When the renovations are over i will try again unless they move the scooters to front. I have my drugs delivered now.

This guy is a legend! If your butcher doesn't wear a hardhat, is he really a butcher? The butcher counter has some of the best steaks I've ever tried, and I've eaten a lot of steaks. I have paid double the price at expensive butcher shops, and 4 times the price at expensive restaurants, for steaks that weren't even as good as a fortinos ribeye.the butcher is very helpful too, will cut you new steaks whatever thickness you want. If you get the ribeyes i recommend the cheaper ones, they have 2 differently priced ribeyes but I've tried both and I'm convinced they're identical.

Fortinos does not follow by laws and operates their business with no respect for the community! Their roofing project lasts for over half a year and still has no signs to finish, the fumes affect the health and pleasure of the community; Their garbage bins attract lots of flies and rats in summer!

Their construction takes forever the roofing tar odor is horrible. We even couldn’t enjoy staying in our backyard in this such beautiful weather. Seriously, get the construction done ASAP

Better going to other Fortinos. It doesn't have the food section yet and parking lot is a mess. All being renovated.

I dont normally goto the fortinos in waterdown so I don’t know what it normally looks like but I was rather disturbed and disappointed when I walked by the lobster tanks. One tank was full to the brim. The poor guys were stacked -some sideways and upside down with barely any space to move. The other tank was almost completely empty with a couple guys.

Regardless on how theyre “gonna get eaten anyways” I think this is pretty gross, some of the ones squished on the bottom were barely moving…

Called and spoke to someone on the phone addressing this and the manager told me she was currently looking at the tank and they were “fine” and the employees make sure an appropriate number were in each tank. She just thanked me for addressing my concern and that was it.

Fortinos looks good in front but at the back it is like a garbage field. There are lots of flies in summer, also their trucks idle at nights behind the building, which disturbs the neiborhood. They also had big piles of construction dirt at the back for months without taking care of them, which makes it even more like a garbage field. Not a comminity friendly business!

Open during renovations and blizzards! PC express online ordering and curbside pickup is always ready on time.

Fresh produce, kind staff and expanding the store to better serve the community around it. Can't wait to see the new store.

Positive: for good steam service and freshness of the products.
Negative: I bought two lobsters and at the time I got home, water inside the package leaked out and stained my clothes. Then, I called to complain the package, they said there’s nothing they could do and the first response was even not an apology. I asked if they use the paper package for all the customers, they said yes, and they didn’t realize actually it’s not a good way to pack food with water inside. Then finally, they apologized for the package choice. However, in other grocery stores, they provide a paper box for they steamed seafood. For the sustainability aspect, if both package are made by paper, why not choose a more considerate one. This complaint is not to the seafood department, just an advice for the franchisee owner.

Quality products and selection aside, the customer service was excellent. From the moment we entered we were greeted by a staff member. While waiting in line and cashing out we met Alicia R and Angela V who each helped us out with kind and caring advice and support. It was as simple as noticing a decayed flower in the bunch we had bought and advising us of the not so obvious price tag on the bouquet packaging (Then cutting it out for us). Simple, small, gestures that show us how much you guys care! Thanks to you both!

Odd layout if you are used to other locations, but is being renovated and expanded, so that could change.

Good place to find Organic products. They charge $3 for curbside pickup which is okay since their customer service is excellent

I ain't gonna lie to you chief. The deli counter is actually really good so automatic 5 stars. Just the greatest store I have ever been to.

Have been shopping here for a few years & have liked the store until the change to Plexiglas at bagging end of the checkout. It does protect the cashiers & that is fine. However I bring my own bags & because of Covid, now have to pack my own groceries. Since the advent of the Plexiglas, I have smashed my face & glasses into the Plexiglas & today had the experience of the cashier throwing the groceries down to the bagging area. She the stood there looking at her nails waiting for me to finish packing & pay. I'm paying for this privilege. Where's the customer service?

Fairly expensive for pantry staples (to be expected from Fortinos). Has a decent selection of specialty meats, cheeses etc. Decent selection of wine, beer etc.

I wish the staff at the deli had better training. Getting anything sliced is a disappointment, I ask for thinly sliced, I get thick, I ask for shaved and get crumbled, why?

We have the best grocery store clerks in Waterdown, bar none. Wether you go to Fortinos or Sobeys, both have done an amazing job of hiring and training their staff (young and old).

I do tend to shop more at Fortinos however due to the PC points program, the quality PC products, and the layout of the store. It is busier than Sobeys (IMO), however they are extremely efficient with their checkout process and are never short staffed (in fact, they seem to be over staffed at times).

Staff very mindful of Covid and restrictions. Very attentive and asked all the correct questions. Store floors very clean and shiny

I went to do my shopping and manager refused to let me in asked me to wish in line, but not for first line worker like Nurses and other services workers

Denying people entree due to medical exemptions provided by their doctors that are not able to wear a mask, you’ve got some nerve. Medical discriminating will not be tolerated, this will catch up to you very quickly and it will not be good.

You can find all you need for cooking, and there is very good brands and high quality items. It's usually crowd, isn't that big as other groceries market but I'll be always a great option.

Bit crowded for COVID times - and no arrows on the ground to direct traffic. Prices are usually quite high relative to other grocery stores.

Compared to other locations this one is disappointing, it doesn't have the selection that you would expect and the organic produce isn't as fresh. That said the staff are friendly, and the store is clean. I cannot wait for the renovations to be completed, disappointing that we're not going to be getting a Joe Fresh, but otherwise all the other upgrades are going to be fantastic.

Bakery dept is great.done a couple last minute birthday cakes for grandchildren. Michelle friendly & helpful. Thank-you!

Not a great grocery store. Often find expired products on the shelves. You really have to watch what you’re buying. Only go there in an emergency.

You can find just about anything here. Everything is top quality and fresh. Most of their employees are friendly and knowledgeable although on occasion I've found unusual items on my own that I'd asked for, that the staff thought they didn't have. I don't get upset because there is a huge selection. The only downside is you pay a premium for the clean professional ambience of the store.

If you're thinking about transitioning to a less-wasteful lifestyle and still eat meat, the butcher at Fortinos is wonderful and understanding about that. He allowed me to use my own (clean, sanitized) reusable containers to buy meat from the deli. I did not expect this from a large grocery store. I recognize that grocery giants
like Fortinos (and all grocery stores for that matter) have a long way to go in terms of reducing plastic packaging and waste, but this experience shows me that they can be flexible if the customer asks for it. They have my business.

Most expensive place in waterdown and service is poor st best. Better off down hamilton street, better prices, better support for local companies and friendly.

I just don't understand the price for wings there. Even the 1 day or 2 day old wings they are now asking $10 for 10 wings. I have complained numerous times about the onion rings. Every time they are just so gross. Tough as hell and extremely hard and chewy. If you want them good you must ask them to make a new batch and get them right away. I've given up and buy nothing anymore from the hot foods section. Salads from there are extremely expensive too. Over all the store is nice but like most reviews state, this is a very expensive store to shop in

I found prices almost double that of low cost grocery stores. I would expect that from produce but not non perishables. They have no price match with competition either. I'd rather save my money and shop at a store with less frills.

LOVE this store. Super friendly staff. Great size - not too huge but big enough to have everything in stock. Quality of fruit and veggies is outstanding as is the meat. Good selection of seafood.

Too expensive, meat and produce quality is average. To many precut meats shipped in. They dont support local suppliers.

While the location is perfect for me, the availability of things like plain oat milk or full fat Greek yogurt is very inconsistent. I can find these at the Longos in Burlington all the time. Why not here?

I hate to put down my local fortinos but in Hope's that this review could be useful. I choose to shop at the Burlington fortinos because there are a few items I cant find regularly at the waterdown location. Organic avocados are always hard as rocks. Burlington always has semi ripe. Ive never gotten a decent coconut there. Organic grass fed creams always have better expiry dates in Burlington. I understand it's a different demographic.different sales. This is just me! I do love that you sell duck eggs now though!

Super organized and great food display. Store is alot smaller than other locations and does not provide as much variety. The cashiers love giving cut eye and are a bit rude. They have absolutely no clue what they sell in the store. Not the greatest place for wedges and chicken wings. Never fresh. Not the greatest location for a birthday cake. Super limited basic cakes. It is great for what my husband and I use it for. Run in for baby water (which the cashiers have no clue they sell) and run out. Maybe pick up some Ziggy's mac n' cheese ;)

Can only shop for emergency items or if they run a good sale. Too expensive for almost everything.

It's just "okay" for now - I can hardly wait until they've done the expansion on this store! Then I'll probably change my review/rating.

This is a fairly average Fortinos. I find that since it is a lot smaller than others, the selection isn't as great and I find that often I go in looking for a couple of items that I end up not being able to find or are sold out. This also used to happen a lot with sale items. I think since the new manager has come in things have gotten a bit better but still frustrating to go looking for simple items and then finding an empty shelf.

Best grocery store in town, friendly staff, good service, always clean, and food is always fresh. There's plenty of room inside to push your cart around, unlike some of the other places in town where two can barely fit.

Is comparable to Sobey's prices but has far better sales and produce selection. This location is always very clean, organized and welcoming. Staff are always seen stocking or cleaning all over the store. Just gives the impression of organization, cleanliness and good, quality food.

I love shopping here convenient location. It is a little more pricey than other stores like in Burlington or Oakville to to community size and volume of sales.
