Hotel is under construction and were not informed when we booked our room. Bathroom needs to be renovated, vary old and run down. Window shade was almost inoperable. No water in the room for coffee. Only 2 paper cups. No night light in the washroom, only one very very bright overhead light. And of course the same old rude inconsiderate guests in the halls at 1 am.

It’s amazing place located strategically in DT.

The front staff needs to be bit more friendly.

This Hotel has lot of potential, I hope Easton Group will take good care of this one too:)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Kingston Market Square, and it was a great experience from start to finish. Located in the heart of Kingston, this hotel boasts not only an ideal location but also an incredibly attentive staff.

Local dining and attractions, are within walking distance of the hotel.

Our room was spacious and clean and also offered a beautiful view of the waterfront and the lake.

We dined at the in-house restaurant, and the food was great and the staff super friendly.

Whether you're in town for business or pleasure, I highly recommend this hotel for a great experience and amazing location.

Honestly the worst Marriott branded hotel I’ve been to, there was a distinct smell in my room. Front desk staff treated me like an infant when I was asking questions on how the app works. Cordial at most but I wouldn’t say professional. Parking is way too much and was $60 for 2 vehicles, not even a free spot with the room. Convenient location which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 but next time I’ll stay at the Delta across the road it will end up being the same price considering how much this place charges for parking. Cleaning ladies are very nice

Bonjour,

We got off to a bad start at the Kingston Market Square Hotel. When I checked in, my husband was waiting outside in the car. The gentleman at the reception was obviously not sober (it smelled very strongly of cannabis). As a result, I didn't understand him very well either. Smoking is legal in the country, but I don't think it's lost at work. When we then wanted to go to the room, we found out after a long back and forth that we had been given the wrong room number (maybe it was the condition of the employee?). When entering the room, it smelled horribly - is difficult to classify, dog scent, old sweat or the smell of carpets? - Luckily we were able to change rooms without hesitation, but the new room wasn't any better. We then bought a Febrez in the discounter and ripped open the window (the full 10 cm that could be opened). Air conditioning didn't work either. Hotel location and parking was perfect, everything else was unreasonable. It was a shame for such a beautiful place.

Great location and the price was much more reasonable than surrounding hotels. My only issue was finding the parking garage, which I had to circle around a few times to park, just due to the volume of people in the area that evening. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.

Stayed at this hotel for the first time, it’s located in centre of the Kingston from where every tourist attraction is at walking distance. We stayed for a day and found the evening staff a little reserved while answering basic questions. Being working under hospitality department I expected them to be more friendly. The room was beautiful and had great view of the city. All and all its worth staying there.

Très bon emplacement cependant j ai malheureusement eu le bruit des ventilations extérieurs toute la nuit. Le personnel était très professionnel bon accueil.

Beautiful location, fantastic staff, rooms are older.

You’re walking distance to everything which makes this location prime.

Beds are ok, but the rest of the room needs updating along with the AC system.

There were signs stating that they’re in the middle of a renovation, but not sure how long it will be.

The staff are super friendly and courteous.

Parking is $30/night by the sign for the public parking garage said $20/day. Not sure why hotel is charging extra $10 since it’s using the same parking garage.

The elevators for the parking garage are small/slow and there’s no “accessible/handicap” push button to open the doors in the parking garage.

Would love to come back when the renovations are completed.

Air conditioning didn't work on a very humid weekend. Rooms desperately need updating - reno's are apparently in progress. $30 a night is a lot for parking. Location is ideal for enjoying downtown.

Staff are friendly and courteous. Great location as it's a short walk to the pier and restaurants, bars, shops. Room had a very bad musty smell although spacious and needs some updating. I understand the hotel is going through renovations so I imagine the rooms and that bad smell will be gone. Attended a wedding and may I say the food was extremely good!

We just had our wedding here on June 17,2023. We cannot say enough good things about the hotel and staff.
Katie Evans the hotel wedding coordinator who worked with us, was absolutely amazing. She made sure every detail was covered, often reminding ME of details I forgot about!

Their wedding packages are simple but EXACTLY what we were looking for.

The Executive Chef Aniket, was AMAZING. Our guests could not stop raving about the food. Right from the antipasto, to the pizza buffet at 11pm.

We had a renovated suite (the hotel is undergoing renovations) and it was INCREDIBLE.

The bar and wait staff really waited on us and our guests hand and foot. And special mentions to Alex and Candace for dealing with a rowdy guest ;-)

Overall, we are absolutely THRILLED with our choice of going with the Kingston Market Square Hotel for our wedding! And we would 100% recommend them on a drop of a dime!

If you want to try the taste of the horrid, this is the right place! 70s-style carpet and furniture, period dust and a bed that tilts as soon as you get on it. It really sucks
24 May 2023 20:19
Horrible hotel! Room at least 30 years old, dirty, old, untouchable carpet floor! Broken bed, uncomfortable spring mattress is as old as the rest. Bathroom without window, without a fan. Air conditioning/heating so noisy you can't use it at night. Courtesy at the reception ZERO. Not recommended across the board with what it costs. Car parking a steal. $30 a night, mandatory because you can't park at night in the area.

This hotel is too old, i guess the mattress is more than 20 years and dirty, but good location. Parking is $30 per day

Food was great. Hotel parking is small and hard to find, and expensive. Elevators small and overwhelmed (convention). Our room had seen better days, but very comfortable- and they are remodelling. All in all, pretty good stay

I rarely complain about anything. And never have I singled out a certain individual. But here I sit at 11pm after being awaken by the front desk to hear someone had knocked at my door and I didn't answer. They believed I was smoking in my room and a smoking charge would be assessed. I told them there was a mistake and they're welcome to come to my room at that very moment. They refused: Jennifer said 'we don't need to' before hanging up on me. I got dressed and went downstairs. Jennifer continued to be confrontational and double down on the idea that she was right and I was wrong. I appreciate that mistakes happen - but Jennifer's unwillingness to admit to a mistake was beyond reproach. I've traveled for work for over 18 years - this is the first time I've ever experienced anything remotely close to this sort of behavior.

27 & 28 degrees both days of our stay and the hotel refused to turn on the A/C to accommodate the uncomfortable temperatures. Apparently by turning it on the pipes may freeze if it gets cold the next week? So for over $200 / night we slept in a sweatbox who was worried about next week’s weather, great. They actually brought us up a fan when we complained further about the room temperatures, almost insulting when its so hot in the room you can’t sleep, so here’s a noisy fan to help ya all night long. Only thing that saves this place is the location

Just finished DJ’ing an event here. Staff was super polite, venue was beautiful, everyone enjoyed themselves. Excellent venue for live events.

Hotels are meant to be easy to find, well located, with good service and convivial. This doesn’t meet any of these criteria. Signage for the entrances were not there. Renovation says staff! One elevator is out of order meaning long waits. No signs. Renovation says staff! The bathtub is stupid slippery with non skid strips located away from the shampoo and soap dispense - first time I almost slipped in a tub and fell. Renovation says staff! So get renovated and make this hotel a decent hotel. It’s unfortunate as the location is pretty good.

I’m sad my graduating formal event went the way it did. Dinner was supposed to be at 8, but we got our main course at 10, when the others had been done for an hour and were starting on dessert. The event ended at 11: 30, so by the time we had eaten, there was no point in dancing, and the evening was over. I’m really disappointed, I had hoped to eat and spend a while on the dance floor with my friends as our last formal dance together, this did not happen: (while I appreciate the staff did their best, I’m sad about my experience here.

I have been to Sheraton in other locations and they have been amazing. This one had the worst service I have ever had. The front desk associate was repeatedly rude and attempted to embarrass me multiple times. When I asked if I could use my partners credit card he belittled me. A friend also tried to pay for this room as a surprise and they repeatedly told her and I that it was paid in full but couldn’t reveal who paid it, and at the end told us that they made a huge mistake and it wasn’t. We were told on the phone repeatedly we would be completely accommodated by having an early check in as we were driving 3 hours for a conference and once we arrived the front desk associate said it wasn’t true. I witnessed this worker be incredibly kind to others so I’m unsure if being a woman or person of colour was the reason for the constant shaming. Definitely not worth the $600 payment and I will never stay here again. I will not be naming this individual here but I would suggest a thorough review of the way your staff treats your guests.

Everything was pretty good.
I do feel that they should not have charged $30 per day for parking. I feel that $20 per day would have been more appropriate.
I also feel that the overal price was about $40-$50 above the cost that I feel that hotels should be charging.
And take this very seriously, because I *will* shop for an airbnb place next time.
So while everything went well, and thank goodness, no car break ins like previous reviews revealed, I feel the cost is a tad too premium.
