I was in town from Kincardine and my car was pouring break fluid, but I thought it was the low tire pressure engine light, not the brake fluid one! I took it in to Fowler Tire to get the nitro air checked in my tires and they broke the news to me about my brakes and ended up charging me NOTHING to do a brake inspection since it was a Friday afternoon and horrible timing for this to happen!

My brake lines are gone and I had the car towed back to Wingham to my mechanic via CAA. Again - Fowler's said there was no charge since I was having a bad day. I won't forget it!

I am not satisfied with the service provided as the customer service was poor and there was a considerable delay in addressing my concerns despite the ETA was given on phone which they have denied. Three engineers were doing 10 cars at the same time. ***Over priced will not recommend. *** Corner of Manitou dr/ Fairview rd Kitchener

Chris and his team were empathetic and cared about getting my car back and running as soon as possible.

Called them today at 8: 05 to do a safety test, and an old man answered my call. He was so rude, I told him that I wanted to do a safety test, but it'sl time critical because I have an appointment at 3 pm on the same day to transfer the lease of the car into my name. The way he was talking to me, as if I work for him. He was like "there is nothing called time critical, you drop the car and we do it whenever and you pick it up at 5 pm. I was like my question was clear, whether you can do it before 3 or no. You give me simple answer, either yes and I will bring the car to you right now, or no, and I will look for someone else.

Only place I take my vehicle now. Having had the d (st) ealership work on my vehicle last, the mechanics here not only uncovered but showed me where there were problems that the d (st) ealership had "fixed". Friendly, kind and accommodating staff go the extra mile. Highly recommend.

I brought my truck in last week for a noise in the front end, they inspected it and said it was my brakes. (I had previously brought my truck there for wheel alignment.). So it was decided to wait.the noise became louder.so I checked my front and rear cross member torque settings (cam bolts) and all were loose one was really loose.i re torqued all lift kit bolts.the noise was gone.now it’s pulling a little to the left.i called today for a alignment. (after spending a lot of money there over a few years). They couldn’t book me in until Friday or Monday.very dangerous driving with loose cam bolts that should have had locktite on the bolts.not impressed by my last appointment the loose bolts should have been noticed in my front end inspection last week. Chris was very rude on the phone. Grant has better phone manners

Felt like they were trying to take advantage of me for a basic safety!

They were very accommodating at accepting a last minute, end of day appointment to have my newly purchased (used) car safetied. To my knowledge, it did not need work as I just replaced the battery, tires and front brakes.

They told me I needed rear brakes (drums and pads), to secure my battery and service my headlights. They quoted me ~$700.

My battery clip broke when replacing the battery, but I was able to make a replacement screw and it took all of 1 minute to install.

My one headlight just needed to be polished so I quickly did that at home as well with a $10 kit and 5 mins.

I purchased the parts and replaced my rear drums and pads with my dad for $100 and about 2-hours.

They clearly did not actually check my brakes properly. My drums were not actually worn and I am saving them for the next time I need to replace them- they were only rusty which is mostly an aesthetics thing. Some rust can cause issues so it'd be worth cleaning them, but they did not need to be replaced.

The drums were also a bit stiff to pop off and had a bit of rust around the seal; had the mechanic actually looked, the rust would not be around the seal and the drums would not have been that difficult to remove.

The brake pads were in almost new condition and had very little wear (the previous owner had them done not long before).

I still replaced everything with the new parts.

The guy told me to come back the next day and told me he would not be here in the afternoon.

When I arrived he told me to come back in the afternoon, because the rest of the safety would take a long time and they had things to measure.

Anything should have been measured in the initial check. For the rest of the safety, a quick glance at the headlights shows they've been cleaned. A visual look of the battery shows it is clipped in place, and maybe touched with a wrench to make sure the bolts are secured.

The longest thing would be removing my tear tires, seeing the new drums (and clearly they don't check the pads) and putting the tires back on and retorquing them.

The rest of safety could easily be done in about 15 mins or less.

I didn't have time to return in the afternoon, so made a Monday appt at 1 pm.

They told me it would take about 30 mins.

At 1: 30, I checked in and they were just taking my car inside. I told them my lunch break is almost over and they then told me it'd only take 15 minutes (which it should have taken in the first place).

They quoted me $700 for a job that cost $100.54 in parts and 2 hours for a home job. A mechanic could have gotten the parts cheaper and done in probably less than 2 hours.

Even still, at $100/ hr and $100 for parts the quote should have been ~$300.

I am somewhat knowledgeable about cars, but I imagine someone who is not would have accepted their prices and diagnosis.

They did finally safety it in the 15 minutes they just had the one mechanic on duty and I understand delays.

Price of the safety was reasonable, the guy was very friendly and apologetic for the delays, but I was not pleased with the quote or quality of services.

I had two vehicles that needed to have safety inspections performed the day I called along with a bit of other basic annual service (lube/oil/filter/etc) and repairs. They said they could get both vehicles done that day.

They got the first one done by early afternoon but the other had a windshield chip. So it had to go out for repair and was back the next morning.

The did a great job for a fair price. All round, I was very happy.

Outstanding service! We found a squirrel nest in the bottom of our car with baby squirrels a day before our road trip. They took us in at a moments notice, took the babies and the nest out, cleaned where they were and checked for damages - all with a smile. Will be coming back without a doubt and saved our trip!

We've recently had two very good experiences with Forwler Tire.

My mum recently took her Ford escape in to have new tires/an exhaust installed. She found them to be very responsive and friendly when helping her out. Knowing that we needed work done on my car, she let me know that we should give them a call.

After trying to get a quote from BMW (who normally services my car) for new brakes/tires for my Mini with no answer, we decided to give Fowler Tire a try. I found them to be very friendly, informative and appreciated that they kept me informed on what was happening to my car. Grant called me immediately once there was a delay for parts and gave me an updated ETA, which was greatly appreciated. The prices were very competitive compared to what I had been paying before (that may be because BMW charges an arm and a leg lol). The entire brake change, tire replacement and oil change was completed in 3 days, with the shop being closed one of those days.

Thanks for the great service Grant/team, looking forward to working with you in the future!

During a wheel alignment they hit my car but of course no one will assume the responsibility.
If you decide to use this shop, check your car before leaving the shop.

Great experience. Went in to get a screw out of my tire and get it patched. Squeezed me in a timely manner. Service was great. Will come back for future services.

I was at the hospital all day visiting my wife, got in the the car and the tire pressure monitoring showed one tire down 6 psi.

Dropped in to Fowler's at 4: 30 as I have been dealing there for years. They were jammed up doing winter tire changeovers but they said no problem that they would stay later to get it done.

I always go to Fowler because of their outstanding commitment to excellent customer service.

Update: Changing my review to a 4 star. After the incident they called me back determined to solve my issue. They suggested they take a look at the car again. This time, they found (and showed me) that the previous balance service that had been done (elsewhere) was totally off.

I requested to have them balanced and it solved the issue. Kind of disappointed that their employees didn't go the extra mile in looking in to this first time around. But glad they called me back and figured the problem out.

(Original Review) : Very disappointed with the whole experience. First when I called in to book an appointment, they asked if I was going to be leaving the car or waiting for the service. I said I'd be waiting. When I get there the very next day, they inform me the waiting room is closed due to Covid. Why are you giving the people the option of waiting? Shouldn't you inform about the waiting room over the phone? But that was the least of my problems.

Soon after the alignment service I went on a road trip to Montreal. As soon as I went over 100km/h the steering wheel started to vibrate (this wasn't occurring prior to the service). Additionally the car was pulling to the left more than it was prior to the service. The very reason I went in for service was because the car was pulling to the left.

I wrote them an email expressing my total dissatisfaction. They called me the day after and basically started making assumptions saying it was due to my tire that went bad or a pothole I hit. I emphasized that this was not happening prior to the service. Then he went on about the many dealers that they do service for as if to impress me and blame my car.

At no moment in time did he say, bring your car back, let us have a look and see what's going on.

I feel like I was ripped off. I believe anyone who gets any service done to their car expects some kind of improvement. It's very disappointing to get your car serviced and get it back in a worse state then when you dropped it off.

Over the top customer service. I will reccomend this location to anyone looking for tires. Im a dummy and didnt give them the correct size. They called to let me know and found me the correct size on very short notice. Also they had by far the best prices for tires and install then anyone in town. Yes i called everyone. Do not waste your time and just start here!

Best experience ever. I have a Jeep Wrangler with the big lug tires that I thought would be the best tires for winter driving. The owner (Chris) suggested that I change the tires up for the winter, he said that the new tires would be much better. Well, he was more than right. Not only do they have better grip the ride is like being in a new vehicle! Thanks guys, I will be back in the spring for some new summer tires.

I"ve been buying new tires for years at Fowler, in addition to the seasonal winter tire changes. It is in my view one of the best automotive shops in Kitchener-Waterloo. Staff is efficient and trustworthy. I love the fact that they are an independent business. One of the few repair shops that doesn't try to upsell you. Highly recommended.

I got a flat on Good Friday and needed it repaired on the Saturday. I called around to 10 places and they were booked solid. Fowler Tire was able to work on my tire between jobs, even though they didn’t have an opening. Very good customer service!

To the young men that recently posted of their experience today: I was at this location getting my summer tires put on and witnessed what took place. You were all very rude and disrespectful! You should be ashamed of yourselves. The owner and every person that works there are AWESOME! They go above and beyond for their customers. I would not take my vehicle anywhere else!

Best place to bring your car. I'm always weary of mechanics since I know nothing about cars and I worry I'll get told that I need to get things that I dont actually need to get done. These guys are super stingy. They get the job done, but don't honour their agreements. I had a credit on my account with them, but when I tried applying it, Chris realized they "forgot" to charge me for something else, so he gave me the difference between the credit they promised me and what they mistakenly "forgot" to charge me, so basically my credit was nothing. Chris explicitly told me he doesn't forget matters when it comes to money. Terrible customer experience.

Edit: I later remembered why they didn't charge me - because they didn't do the service that Chris thought they did. So after I showed him proof that I got it done somewhere else, he reimbursed me for the rest of the credit. Advice for management: give the customer the benefit of the doubt if you don't want to lose your customers. Even if you forgot to charge me, you can't go and charge me at a later time, that would be your own fault.
