My colleague told me about this Bakery. It's very basic and old school but everything we tried was good. Surprisingly the prices are about half of what we pay in Richmond Hill. We bought 13 treats and it was about 20$. The Chinese Bakery we usually visit in Richmond Hill would charge about double so not sure how the owners can run a viable business on these "pre-pandemic" price points.

Best Cantonese winter melon pastries (“wife cakes”) and peanut mochi! Bring cash. Line-ups can be long, but it moves quick. For those mindful of sugar levels: the “wife cakes” come in a reduced sugar version, which is equally tasty.

Terrible hygiene + horrible service

First time visiting, got 2 egg tarts and 1 Lopo bang. When I found a piece of hair buried between the layers of the egg tart crust, I went back, showed the cashier lady the egg tart and asked to exchange for a new one (I wasn’t even complaining). The lady examined the egg tart, didnt say a thing to me, not even an apology, then told the server to give me a new one. The server put an egg tart into a bag and threw it onto the cashier table. I felt wronged by such a terrible experience.

Please do not support a business that treat their customer in such an impolite way.

The winter melon pastry and egg tarts here are really good. I also love their black sesame buns. The prices are reasonable.

Went to Fragrant Bakery around 12 noon on a Wednesday. As soon as you walk into the mall, and you can smell the fragrance of the bakery Lol. There was a line up of about 6 people. When it was my turn in line, I placed my order for their famous Egg Tarts but of course they were sold out. I was told to come back in five minutes and was given an order number (3). The customer service was great although there was a bit of a language barrier, thankfully one of the kind customers helped with translations as I had questions about how long the custard tarts could stay in the fridge. Overall great experience, I will definitely be coming back for more Egg Tarts!

My favourite Chinese bakery, their egg tarts are divine.enjoyed even better if they’re freshly out of the oven. Make sure to come early if you want to avoid lineups! They have other items that are also very good and not typically sold at Chinese bakeries including sweetheart cakes and different types of rice puddings.

Short wait. Eggtarts and low sugar wife's cakes are good. Price is reasonable. Closed on Thursday.

My favourite dan tat in the city. Pure bliss to eat one that is still warm immediately outside of the car in the parking lot. Both because I can’t wait and also because it’s so flaky and will make a total mess. Typically always fresh due to demand. You sometimes have to wait. If it’s that fresh, pop the tops so things don’t get soggy. Located inside the mall. Find HK Tea in the food court around the corner.

Hidden gem. Known for their winter melon cakes and egg tarts. There is sometimes a big lineup to get into the small shop so be prepared. Well worth the wait though

Egg tart (It’s oily and crispy, the tart shell is very fragrant, but the milky taste is not enough. It’s easy to get tired
Walnut cake (loose. Not my type but good quality
Wife cake

An atmosphere that makes people feel very reliable

Food: Got their sweetheart cake today and honestly, it isn't that great. The other Aroma Bakery was better. The bottom of the egg tarts that the lady packed for me was also burnt. ALL BLACK. These should be thrown out but they were obviously too cheap to do so.
Service: Lady was impatient. Kept asking me what I wanted when I told her several times, "please give me a moment".
Very dishonest sellers. Never returning.

This long-established cake shop is well-known in Toronto and offers all kinds of Chinese pastries, freshly baked and highly recommended.

The products produced by the time-honored cake shop are different! The egg tart crust, egg crisps, and barbecued pork cakes are all great. The tart egg flavor is naturally sweet and just the right traditional flavor. The tart crust is naturally crispy and fluffy, and you can still taste the aroma of eggs even if it is cooled before eating! It's a pity that the air in the store is not circulated. Going in and shopping is full of the smell of oily smoke from the food center next door

I have been a regular customer for their delicious egg tarts. Every time I am in the area, I make sure to stop by and grab a dozen. The egg tarts are always fresh and have the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. The crust is flaky and buttery, making for a perfect treat. The bakery itself is small and simple. The only downside is that it is a cash only place, so make sure to come prepared. Overall, this is my go-to spot for egg tarts and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a tasty treat.

Great place for fresh wife cakes. I can never taste the difference between the regular ones and the ones with less sugar. Make sure to come before they run out.
