Called and found the Gold Confetti- one of two places in the GTA i found.
Setvice was quick and with a smile.

I bought a Yule Log cake for Christmas for my family and we were all excited to eat it because it looked really pretty, but unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. It was extremely sour that none of us liked it and none of us could really eat more than a bite. Someone even thought it tasted like spoiled milk and gagged from it. I felt embarrassed that I brought a cake to my family that no one enjoyed and it ruined the appetite for dessert. Two of my family members even got a stomach ache the next day and I felt so bad. I hope the other cakes taste better for everyone else's sake. I won't ever order from here again.

Astounding that this institution doesn’t have 5 stars. Their dedication to their craft and community over 30+ years is admirable. They make fantastic Sicilian baked goods, desserts (get the cannolis) and an unrivalled hot table at lunch with arancini, veal, pastas and pizzas! Proud to support Francesca’s any chance I get!

Ordered an Italian tiramisu cake for my niece's 45 birthday from Francesca's. I think that she liked it better than the flowers or presents. And the rest of us enjoyed it also. Delicious and really nicely decorated.

It was our first time that we went to this bakery and we were amazed by the taste, quality, and even the pricing of the cake.

The cake tasted extremely well. You wouldn’t find such kind of cakes anywhere else.

Also, we had veggie pizza slices and they were outstandingly delicious. Loaded up with cheese to the full extent.

Great spot for inexpensive take out. Have been here a few times and food and drinks are always delicious, and very fairly portioned for what it is priced. There are also some tables available if you want to sit down.

Since it is always busy, it can be a bit overwhelming especially if you are here for the first time. Recommendation is to walk up closer to the section for the food you want, and someone will eventually help you.

Local east end Scarborugh Italian bakery that serves pastries, cakes, hot food table, pantry items and gelatos. There is something for everyone's palette, whether it's a sweet or savory craving they're going after.

There is a small dine in area. It could be difficult to find parking during peak periods.

The bread is always fresh and yummy! My personal favourite is there cannolis. The staff is always super friendly and kind.

I go to Francesca on the weekend or during the week, the staff there so friendly and a meeting spot for many of us who can’t be with our closest friends, coffee is amazing and the owner is awesome cheers to all

So glad I stumbled upon this place, they have a great selection of baked goods! The hot food is pretty good too. Be prepared for long lineups during lunch hour or weekends!

Good selection of food items and freshly made. Staff was very courteous especially the one who served me. Went early so that it was not packed up otherwise at times they are very busy.

First time visit, bad service. Went during Christmas time, all the workers were lousy and rude. Such a shame since their cakes are really good.

Great Pistachio cake Baba au Rhum and mille feuilles. The chocolate cake was a bit too sweet. But definitely one the best patisserie in Toronto

This bakery has become a family favourite for us! We've gotten deli meats, sweet canolis and deliciously loaded sandwiches from them and everything is fantastic! Their delicious rates are reasonable and one sandwich can feed two! Great service as well!

What a gem! We drive past many other bakeries to get here and the selection of baked goods is second to none. Try to visit around lunch and try something from their hot table. You won’t regret it. Wonderful family atmosphere and the team is always smiling! Thank you Francescas!

We ordered our wedding cake from here. It was absolutely delicious. The flavor was natural (pista) and real, not too sugary at all. We also did a catering for chk sandwiches which was delicious as well.
The serving staff at Francesca are all so helpful and greatful.
Con: We just didn't recieve good packaging for our cake. It was pretty much given to us exposed.maybe something to work on in the near future.

Didn’t realize why the big line and full parking lot were about until we ate their food. Excellent! Their almond Croissant is out of the world. We also bought cannoli- good, pizza - moderate, empanada- yummy, Americano- strong, with milk- pretty good. We also bought some fresh bread. A lot of good stuffs to buy. They also sell fried rice, chicken, pasta and other items. Cake and pastries looked delicious. Friendly staff. Couple of tables to dine in. Very very busy place. Small parking lot and full! Highly recommend this place.

Tasty cakes and pastry, love the baguette I bought too. Would get 5 stars but the layout is not at all Social Distancing friendly. There was only one cashier on with over 10 customers in line/waiting although there were 6 or 7 staff members behind the counter.one of them should have jumped on to cash out customers.

This place has always been our favourite place to get our bread and mini desserts! They are always very busy but even so everything still well maintained.

My mom and I shop there all the time only for special occasions like Christmas or Thanksgiving. Their cookies and cakes are to die for. Plus their sandwiches and pastas are delicious! I'll keep on coming there for more!

Extremely poor handling of cake reservations + customer service. I called in the day before to ask about whether I could have a medium cheesecake ready with "Happy Birthday" written on it for the afternoon on the next day. Keep in mind that these are one of the cakes they regularly make, so there should be many of them available.

The morning of picking up the cake, I called to confirm the time that the cake would be ready at, and they said it would be ready at 2 pm. When I got to the bakery at 2: 30 pm, the employees there seemed to be scrambling and unable to find my cake. They left me waiting for 10-15 minutes, only to have different employees ask for the details of my cake several times since they couldn't find my cake in the end.

After waiting, my cake was finally here (they were rushing to prepare it on the spot after I had arrived), except they gave me a large cheesecake instead of a medium without even asking me in the first place (because they ran out of medium sized cakes), and still insisted that they charge me the $36 for the large instead of the $28 for the medium - even though it was their fault for being unable to fulfill my request regarding the size of the cake, with me informing them of this request the day before.

So, here are the following things that went wrong in my interaction with them:
1. Saying that it would be possible to reserve a cake the day before, but failing to call me or inform me in advance that my order would not be fulfilled the way I wanted - and failing to ask for any alternative requests as a result
2. Confirming the morning of that the cake would be ready at 2 pm, when cheesecakes are made everyday, and yet still somehow forgetting about my order until I show up to the bakery
3. Not willing to charge me the price for a medium cake, which I originally requested, as a result of their inability to give the product that I wanted, and overcharging me as a result of their mistakes
4. Going through with the order assuming that a large cake size would be fine, and failing to communicate this to me while my cake was being prepared after I arrived at the store

While their food may be good, their logistics + management of cake reservations is nothing but a disaster. Go elsewhere to get cakes for a special occasion in a timely manner.

Baked goods are very good (bread, croissant, cookies). Sandwiches were not great, but perhaps the store clerks were getting stressed out with the constant flow of people. Will try the cake next time.

Decent hot counter, sandwiches are pretty good. Must try their almond croissant, it was OMG the perfect almond croissant

I’ve stopped by this bakery many times, and can’t believe they’ve been around for more than 25 years! I find they have everything you would need in one place:

* Coffee, latte, espresso
* Cakes
* Pastries
* Breads
* Donuts
* Hot/Cold sandwiches
* Hot table
* Small aisle of Italian products
* Eating area
* Catering

The individual cakes are small, but fresh and decadent. The Opera is my favorite with a strong coffee liquor flavor. The donuts are a bit on the chewy side, but for a dollar, you can’t beat the price. The plain butter croissant is quite popular and is very flaky. I haven’t tried any of their hot items yet, but the arancinis look delicious. Their coffee is from Lavazza and is a medium roast.

I visited this wonderful bakery as always the staff are so welcoming inviting and very polite and service is excellent. The sourdough bread with olives is so delicious that I’m there in the mornings by 7ish as it’s so soft fresh hot that I’m already nibbling at it in the car. I had my espresso while I was waiting and trust me it’s worth the wait because I ended up buying their sandwiches lemon pastries rice & cheese balls. They were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this fantastic bakery Francesca’s is truly the best. Much appreciated. Suki Sidhu.

They don't have any sample for ordering cake at the store! The lady was so rude with me, wasn't expecting like this since I drove from Ajax to order a birthday cake. So disappointed. She said some sample pictures are online and I have to choose from there, I would've check them out but due to the lady's behavior just left the store. Probably never come back. Was it my brown color?

I recently got some croissants and Danish from this place. Loved it! Placed the order ahead for pickup, the service was fast and the food looked amazing. Highly recommended!

Edit: I recently visited them again and few days back and got to say the service has taken a hit. They were quite rude. Still giving 4 stars cause the food was great.

Excellent service and variety of bakes products. We order every birthday cake from there. We enjoy their products.

Decent authentic Italian deli and lunch spot in the east end. They have a hot food section for that quick pick me up veal sandwich lunch; a cake, pastries, and dessert section including gelato, and a good coffee bar. Anything pistachio is good, as are almond cookies, the cannolis, and neapolitans. Has a loyal following for lunch.

Small plaza so parking can be a pain but you'll find a spot eventually as people go in and go out quickly. FYI that washrooms are in the basement.

I use to be a regular customer for the last 4 years. The hot plate food quality used to be good until start of 2020 I saw the quality declining. Quality/taste has been getting worse day by day. No longer feel like ordering from here. Even the bakery has declined for the past few months.

Came here for pastries and WOW definitely recommending this place to friends and family! So delicious! Price is reasonable and the staff is friendly and kind. Will definitely be back again for more!

Everything is wonderful here. All the staffs are exceptional except for just one, lacking some customer service skill. This will come with time and little coaching. Basic customer skill goes a far way. She made me walked out one day recently without buying my coffee. I drove all the way to starbucks instead.

Have known the place for years! Love the quality, most of the counter help are great, some very few, could use customer service basic refresher courses!

Very good pastries and assortments, tasty and succulent for a breakfast or a lunch with served dishes!

I've never had a bad experience with Francesca's! I've ordered birthday cakes multiple times in the past and they've always been amazing!

The desserts and pastries are delicious and fresh. There is a wide variety to select from. Their location is convenient with lots of parking and near the 401.

Delicious Italian food for lunch.take out or eat in. There are some Italian groceries such as nice pastas, fresh breads, olive oil, canned tomatoes as well as lovely fresh pastries like cannoli. The lunch crowd takes all the parking spots but if you don't mind walking there are a few residential streets nearby to leave your car. The pizza, sandwiches and arancini rice balls are great.

Love this place - Delicious food, delicious desserts, and friendly staff. Very busy around lunch time, so be prepared for a longer than usual wait time. Only criticism I can think of is that there's no formal queue or line, people just walk up from either direction and wait in front of the counter to be served - Needs a little organization, but still a 5 star spot, in my opinion.

Fruit cake is just awesome. They have fresh bakery items.we have tried fruit cake and mocha coffee flavour cake, both were yummy.

Without of a doubt the BEST arrancini in all of Toronto, and trust me, I've tried them at every bakery. Always made fresh and fried to perfection. You taste the difference. The crust that forms around is OUTSTANDING. The rice ball is probably the size of my head and priced very well (some bakeries try to sell of golf ball sized rice ball pre frozen for $5). Part of me is happy that I don't live to close or else I'd grab one everyday.

Only thing that can improve is the service and the fact that the cappuccino is never hot. Cannolis are always good

Pro tip: try the ricotta gelato

I had the lasagna and potato wedges combo. It came with a bottled drink. The lasagna was delicious and tasted like there was no added sugar like many other lasagnas you may have. The roasted potato wedges were similarly delicious. I'll be back!

I specifically chose to have lunch at this bakery on Friday afternoon, since I was in the area. It was a major disappointment and a waste of money. I was incorrectly charged for my order which they had to fix and return money to me. This confusion was created by their own staff. I ordered combo #1 and was given combo #2 which I didn't ask for. I was promised a ricotta pasta for my troubles. I don't know why the lady offered it, if she wasn't going to give it to me. It's not my job to remind her to give me a free item that she offered. She tried to give me a cookie but I didn't take it because I was probably going to get charged another ridiculous price. She didn't say it was free even though I had already paid. I finally sat down to eat the veal in tomato sauce, which was colder than sushi. I spent $11.30 for a small serving of cold veal and potatoes. I told the staff upon leaving and they didn't care at all. I walked out. It shows they lack concern and couldn't care less about quality and customer service. I would never return for an overpriced, cold lunch. Once in a lifetime is more than enough. Thankfully, I won't be in this area again.

Been here a couple times, service can be improved. Bread for the sandwiches were quite hard around lunch time and thick, also the meat to bread ratio was lacking. The lasagna is pretty alright. Prices aren't that cheap, I don't know what the other review is talking about.

Excellent lasagna and the sausage was really good. We went there almost every day for two weeks. The service is awesome. Highly recommended.

The absolute best canoli in the city. These are the standard to which we hold all others. Come for some awesome fresh gelato in the summer. Grab the tastiest arrancini around. Hot table for lunch, bakery and deli, Francesca's is a great spot.

Quaint close to home bakery. Area to dine in with some lunch menu options. Is a little bit more expensive than average but the pastries are good.

Nice neighborhood cafe with homemade Italian pastries and food. The pastries look very good, the food is good and not too expensive. Cant say that the food is memorable though.

Frequent here for lunches and fresh bread. These places are getting scarce in Scarborough. Good food, plenty options. Parking gets a little tough around lunch hour so be prepared

I bought the pistachio cake for my wife’s birthday and she really enjoyed it. Their cannolis and other cakes are really good. Haven’t tried their hot food section.

As much as I'd love to give you a 5* for your bakery and the many years of service you have provided to my family - the way you handled my slip and fall incident in your parking lot left a lot to be desired. It was clear that you didnt care at all and your response of "do you think we want people to fall" was very indicative of how you feel. You didnt even offer me a refund for the items that I purchased, you didn't as so much as offer me a credit for the next time I'll be back (which wont happen). I'd like to remind you that you have numerous elderly people that shop in your bakery and if they had of fallen then could have been injured to the point of breaking something. I am however fortunate enough to only walk away with a sore back, wrist and neck. It takes nothing for you to salt your parking lot in the morning before you open. I hope this was an eye opening experience for you, MR. BATTAGLIA!

Francesca's has a completely new store and eating area since I was last there. It really looks nice inside and is now an even better place to stop by for lunch as they do have a hot food counter - with VEAL parmigiana!

I guess my fav thing though is the cannolis, as they put quite a smile on my Italian mother-in-law's face when I bring them to her.
