If you want to learn MMA and kickboxing come to this school. No need to send your kids to a fighting gym where you can send them here and they will learn for free. Plus this school is the holy grail of fighting:).

Francis Libermann CHS is one of the best and safest high schools in Toronto! The school population is very diverse in ethnicity, culture, and skills/talents. I think Falcon leaders still need to work on building an inclusive school environment as I find that some people are still left out sometimes and not everyone’s opinions are always accepted or respected.

The school building does not have air conditioning because it's “broken”, which is a health risk for students during the hot summer days. During the winter months the school uses a heater, but the heater doesn’t work in some parts of the school. However, the air con and heater always work in the main office.

Educational experience varies greatly by academic level. Students who are in Academic/Enriched/Uni/STEM have stricter teachers, courses with higher standards, and a heavier workload. While students in the Applied/Open/College level have friendlier teachers, lower expectations, and less homework.

Most teachers assign too much homework to their students. Some teachers don’t teach at all or don't do so properly. Sometimes teachers get carried away and spend class time talking about irrelevant topics to the lesson, such as their own personal life stories and political views. If you ask questions to some teachers, they get mad or if they don’t know the answer they tell you to ask your classmates.

Aside from that, there are also good teachers at Libermann who are open-minded, have a great sense of humour, and understands students' needs for success.

Francis Libermann CHS is one of the best and safest high schools in Toronto! The school population is very diverse in ethnicity, culture, and skills/talents. Any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination isn’t tolerated. Falcon leaders have been trying to build an inclusive school environment, but I think they still need to work on it as I find that some people are still left out sometimes and not everyone’s opinions are always accepted or respected.

The school building use to have no air conditioning because it was “broken”, but it was recently fixed and it’s turned on during the hot summer days. Hopefully it stays that way to prevent health risks in warm environments. During the winter months the school uses a heater, but the heater doesn’t work in some parts of the school. The air con and heater always works in the main office. The janitorial team does their best to keep the washrooms as clean as possible, but some students keep making a mess. The 4th floor is probably the best part of the school.

If they don’t know you, then you won’t win an award. Don’t just focus on your grades, but also focus on getting recognized. You have to build relationships with your teachers and stand out. But at the end of the day, awards aren’t everything.

The school has a monthly Falcon Time (based on the developmental assets) which is basically the whole school divided into groups of students from all grades gathered to participate in mandatory activities. Unfortunately, Falcon Time is a complete failure though. In fact, most students dislike it and feel forced to participate. Hopefully one day the DA team would be able to master Falcon Time and run it effectively.

If you ask questions to some teachers, they get mad or if they don’t know the answer they tell you to ask your classmates. It’s sad that some religion teachers don’t teach religion properly and some of them even say bad things against the Catholic religion. This is a Catholic school and Libermann students deserve a better Catholic education.

Aside from that, there are also good teacher's at Libermann who are open-minded, have a great sense of humor, and understands a student's needs for success.

The secretaries/office admins are really nice and they are always free to assist you or answer your questions. The guidance counsellors are very kind, resourceful, and understanding. Libermann’s SRO (School Resource Officer) is usually guarding the school and makes sure everyone is safe every school day. The hall monitors are also there to supervise the hallways and cafeteria. It’s a good feeling knowing that these great people are always there whenever you need help with anything.

Most importantly, the principal and vice principals of Francis Libermann are really nice and hardworking. They always give advice and do their best to motivate students to reach their full potential.

There are some really dedicated teachers here but some need a refresher course in how to deal with students.
