I recently had a consultation with Ron Franklin and an associate. I have no doubt that Ron had genuine concern for what is happening to me. He and his associate took the time that was necessary for me to say all that I needed to say, and ask questions. At no time did I feel that they were trying to persuade me to take any type of action against my employer (in order to bring in business.) That was not what it was about. If I do decide on a course of action, it will be with Franklin Law, and I strongly recommend that anyone who is having Human Rights issues contact Ron. Thank you so much, Ron:)

I unexpectedly found myself in a situation where I needed Franklin Law's services. After not having much luck with contacting a couple of different firms, I received a recommendation to contact Franklin Law and was glad I persisted with my situation and contacted them (although my initial online request did seem to get lost in the system and I had to persist and call the number to see what happened - once I called though, appropriate responses were made quickly).

I really liked the upfront and transparent payment structure. It really helped me to weigh my personal financial-risk-tolerance for taking legal action for my situation. I also really enjoyed working with the lawyer I was assigned - there was a couple of minor communications hiccups, but we were able to work them out. They were great at answering my questions and explaining the legal stuff. I did not have to chase them about my case as they sent me regular updates. If I needed to reach out, emails were responded to in a reasonable timeframe. And when we had our meetings, I felt like the time was set aside specifically for me to thoroughly discuss my case. It helped me to feel supported in the scary process of taking legal action. I had a positive experience and would not hesitate to recommend Franklin Law to my closest friends and family.

This review is about the overall service and experience, rather than the legal advice we received. We selected Franklin Law based on the reviews and their purported specialization in union law disputes, which many law firms didn’t deal with.

Our initial outreach via filling out the mandatory form on the website and subsequent email followup went unanswered. Finally, a few weeks later, we phoned and talked to a receptionist, who connected us to an intake person, who apologized for missing the earlier request.

The intake person was fantastic-listened well, seemed to ask the right questions, was polite and empathetic, and was overall a great introduction to the firm.

Upon the recommendation to seek the traditional consultation with their senior associate-slightly more expensive but speedier-we booked a phone call for the following week. The process for booking and uploading relevant documents for advance review was easy.

At the appointed time of consultation, we waited for a few minutes, and then emailed and phoned the firm to ask about whether the lawyer would be calling us and when. At 10 minutes past, the lawyer phoned and apologized for his tardiness.

The call started with a basic introduction to himself and the firm, and we were asked to recount the basic details. We relayed what was initially shared, albeit with more details. About halfway through, the conclusion was that our case was not strong enough to pursue, based on the fundamental nature of being an unionized employee.

This outcome aside, we felt that this senior associate lacked the bedside manners and decorum of someone who's experienced in dealing with new people. It also seemed as though he missed pertinent details that were provided in advance-which would have saved some time spent on redundant questions and discussion. Lastly, while we don't have any issues with phone consultations, we felt that this medium was not suitable for establishing connection and a sense of engagement, and that a video call would've been a vast improvement.

If anyone was thinking about contacting this firm about union-related issues, our recommendation is to make sure that you and the intake person understand the issue at hand before even booking the consultation (and the clinical consultation at $100 less would've been just fine, in hindsight). Not all union disputes are likely to be defensible or suitable for the court, and not even an employment law firm specializing in union law can help out in this regard.

My experience with Franklin Law was incredible. The communication flow with administration for booking and payment etc was fantastic, super smooth, and their responses were always prompt. My Lawyer was Eric Tweel, and he did an AMAZING JOB. His work ethic is beyond professional, he listens carefully and provides information in a structured manner, never leaving you confused, and always asks if there is anything that I need to be clarified. I was working with Franklin Law across countries, so the fact that Eric and the team
We’re able to accommodate for my time and schedule and still managed to be prompt with deadlines was amazing. Super lucky to have worked with Eric and Franklin Law.

Franklin Law was extremely helpful. Ron Franklin was kind, compassionate and professional. He listened carefully and shared his expertise and experience in Employment and Human Rights Law. It is clear that he really cares about the issues presented to him. He is passionate about the injustices that employees often face. I highly recommend consulting with him if you are looking for legal help.

Do not waste your money. Eric was literally the worst “lawyer” I’ve ever experienced. I would absolutely never recommend them based on his performance. If you want your documents to be misinterpreted, go with Eric. I’ve never met a lawyer so poorly experienced in law. It’s a disgrace how low the bar is at Franklin Law.

I was referred to this law firm through a friend. I was desperate, I saved up money just for a consultation fees. I never heard from them after the first call back asking to fill in the form. I find this to be unprofessional and very demeaning. I am really disappointed with the glorious profile on the website versus the lack of respect and responsiveness. I respect my friend so I thought this would be a professional firm. Since the review was posted as mentioned in the firm's reply, I reached out to them. Although they couldn't help me the firm/ Owner apologized directly via email.

I was recommended to Ron Franklin by a friend to help with my constructive dismissal case. Ron patiently listened as I recounted the details of my experience with my former employer. He was kind and went above and beyond my expectations.

He worked with me and my translator to ensure he understood every detail of my case and also that I understood each step of the process. He always responded to my emails in a timely manner and took the time to answer all my questions and clearly explain things to me.

I had a great experience with Ron as my lawyer. He was kind, responsive, understanding, and extremely professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him and Franklin Law.

I am writing on behalf of my father who was a client at Franklin law with Yinka Oyelowo. I assisted my father in communicating with Yinka via email and have witnessed her lack of professionalism. Below is his review of his experience with Franklin law.

I was wrongfully terminated by my employer and was referred to Yinka to support my case. I was consistently led to believe that this was a winnable case with Yinka going as far as providing me an estimate of the potential winnings of the case. After giving further details about my case, Yinka emailed me a draft of the case and in it a majority of the information was incorrect. Important and basic facts such as the name of my employer were blatantly wrong, an example of this is that she had listed the Staples Centre as my employer which is located in Los Angeles, California when I had provided her a document at the beginning of the case which included the name of my employer and other important details. The amount of errors present in her draft and lack of understanding of important and basic facts about the case demonstrate unprofessionalism and negligent behaviour. As a result, I felt as if there she was not taking the case seriously.

Next, Yinka informed me that she was opening her own firm and asked me to move my case under her personal firm. I refused to switch firms and after this decision Yinka's attitude shifted. Shortly after, she told me that she is unable to continue further with my case.

I then had a call with Ron Franklin in which he stated that the firm will not be moving forward with the case as there is a lack of evidence. This is questionable and leads me to feel as if the services are ingenuine. I provided all the evidence I had at the very beginning of my consultation with Yinka and in response she had told me that with the evidence i presented this was a winnable case. I was persuaded to believe that my case was winnable with the evidence I had provided. This made me feel confident to continue to invest in Yinka to help me win the case. After being told that the firm could not move forward with the case I feel as if i have been scammed given there has been no additional evidence provided on my end.

Additionally, when discussing with both Ron and Yinka there were inconsistencies in the amount of billable hours. Ron recorded a chargeable amount of 11 hours while Yinka reported 17 billable hours. I was charged for 17 hours. The monetary difference is not my concern however, I am bringing attention to this instance as this inconsistency in the amount of billable hours with a client over the phone further exemplifies the lack of professionalism and respect for clients.

I feel as if I have been scammed. After reading reviews of others who have had similar experiences I know that this is not an uncommon experience. I am writing this review in hopes of warning others in my similar situation (looking for a lawyer to assist in wrongful termination) to stray away from Franklin law, specifically Yinka Oyelowo, I cannot speak for the other lawyers but my experience with Yinka has immensely disappointed me, put me in financial distress, and has completely made me lose faith the Canadian Justice System. I fear the response of posting this review as others claim to have received threatening messages following the posting of a negative review. My intent is not malicious, I simply want to inform others of my bad experience as I do not wish others to experience the disrespect I endured.

I worked with Mr. Franklin when I lost my job. He listened to my needs and gave me advise on next steps. He was very patient and professional while he gave me legal advise and he ensured that I understood the documents that I received from my employer. Mr. Franklin worked to get me a positive outcome. I appreciate the work that they do at Franklin Law and I was very happy with my choice in hiring Mr. Franklin.

The worst decision I made was retaining Taylor Akin from this firm as representation. Too many times was she rude, dismissive and downright disgusting in our interaction. Even had the gall to try to use reverse psychology despite us supposedly working toward the same goal. In fact she seriously misadvised me to where I questioned if she was working for her client or the opposing party. She missed crucial deadlines and constantly asked me to repeat information over and over again because she didn’t have enough respect for the case and her client to retain it, wasting her client’s time. Find a firm who will work to win your case - as soon as she was paid the complacency began. Never, would I ever, recommend this firm to anyone.

I met Jacqueline, Ron and Taylor several years back and thought they were extremely kind, professional and helpful.

In 2020 I had tough workplace situation and immediately thought to go to Franklin Law. Yinka was the lawyer who helped me and she was very proficient, followed up whenever I had a question and so so responsive.

She was very honest with me and didn't sugar coat anything. It was a stressful time in my life and I'm very grateful to have had Yinka as my counsel.

I've experienced some very injustice issues with my employer. I wanted to know my legal rights, I decided to contact Franklin law. I dealt with Yinka Oyelowo on several occasions. She was extremely helpful and caring. She took the time to listen to my concerns by repeating what I have said. After hearing my story, she explained my legal rights and provided a few options. I was beyond impressed with Yinka, after our conversations, she would call or send me a follow email to find out the progress of my matter. She wanted to know if I needed additional information or assistance. She went above and beyond by helping me get through this difficult time. A big THANK YOU to Yinka for her professionalism and kindness. I will certainly continue to reach out to Yinka in the near future
