Love this place. The sandwich selection is amazing, portions are hearty and the freshness is unmatched. And the tart wall! Hard to say no.pecan pie; absolutely! Thank you and can't wait to go back.
Frank's is a great place to get a sandwich and snack towards the west end. Their sandwiches are good, and their lemon cranberry scones (a personal favourite of mine) are simply a delight to the taste buds. Their sandwiches are a good price with good meat portions, and their ingredients are fresh. Their scones taste homemade. I am not a fan of butter tarts, but Frank's is well known for them, and people that I know who have had them have all said that they are fantastic.
Yummy buttertarts! The butterscotch is my favourite flavour! I suggest popping them into the microwave for a few seconds, or better yet, the toaster oven for about five minutes at 300° before you eat them!
Great food, would have given them a 5 star but they close up to the public at random times and put a “back in 30 minutes” sign on the door with “staff having lunch” while multiple cars filled with customers outside wait. I’ll try there Meadowlands location, but won’t be back if I see that type of sign again.
Fantastic sandwiches, excellent ready-made meals [ quiche, meat pies, cabbage], and a nice selection of fruit pies. Other baked goods, including their Butter Tarts, are just okay (crust is too thick and filling somewhat bland). Note while their Butter Tarts are advertised as best in Ottawa (and they are), that's not saying much because the selection of homemade butter tarts in Ottawa suck. If you want good butter tarts, head out on Highway 7, and stop at the many Mennonite stands on the way to Bancroft. Otherwise, find your way to Perth and the pie company whose butter tarts are very good.
Love frank's, have been going for years. To be critical - the tarts are a little under filled, but the flavour and crust are perfect (yeah I said it). And the prices just aren't the 'great deal' they used to be. All that aside it's a great spot and 1000x better than the place across the street.
A new stop on the Ottawa sandwich rotation. I feel like Frank’s isn’t talked about like Dirienzo’s or La Bottega Nicastro. Frank’s is great stuff… butter tart was also fire.
We asked if they had a menu and the cashier just said "no look up there" pointing at the signs above. The staff behind the counter were quick to offer assistance, the cashier however acted like she had better things to do then help us.
We bought a couple tarts, scones and a quiche. Tarts were good, scones were very tasty but I had to scrape off a lot of the icing (just my taste). Overall I would visit again if I were in the area.
If you haven't had the chance to experience this place yet, you're in for a treat. I wholeheartedly recommend trying it out – it's an absolute must-visit. From the moment you step through the door, you'll be met with impeccable service that truly sets the bar high. The staff here have mastered the art of hospitality, ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. One of the standout features of this establishment is their extensive menu, thoughtfully curated to satisfy every palate and craving.
Always a hearty sandwich or wrap stuffed with meat. They keep the line moving quickly and always maintain a quality standard that goes above and beyond. My only complaint is that there is such a variety of sandwiches on the menu that I have a hard time choosing. Last time I chose The Mighty Casey and it was awesome.
Can't go wrong with anything from Frank's. Sandwiches are tasty, great value and lots of food. Owner and staff are very friendly and they have some of the best baking, specifically butter tarts I've ever had. Great spot
Hi ordered 6 cannoli as child I’ve tried butter tars and was excited to buy something for my kids. Their store was so strong with onions burns my eyes and cashiers. The cannolis lacked sweetness And texture The shell was ok. Did not like lemon bits. Kids wouldn’t eat so it was waste of money: (I won’t be returning
I had the #1 (maybe that's Frank's special?) and, while it had lots of meat, etc stuffed in, it was surprisingly bland IMO. I will have to go back and try some other offerings!
What an amazing deli. You definitely get what you pay for, if not more than that. The sandwiches are freshly made and pretty sure sliced to order right in front of you. Amazing place, if I'm in the area, I always stop in for a sandwich
