Fran's Restaurant and Bar

It was nice place for breakfast/lunch/brunch. A lot of history there. I hope they do not replace this by yet another mammoth highrise.

Pricey food, and a rude inconsiderate waiter. Food was meh. The sign outside the restaurant is stunning though! That alone gives it a second star. Other than that I felt uncomfortable in this restaurant.

This place is so much fun Basic pub menu but always excellent portions, friendly staff, and also warm on the cold days now that summer is sadly gone!

First time at Fran's and the food was great and the service was wonderful. Maria was our server and always a smile on her face. Great service! Definitely coming back!

I love Fran's every time I visit a new city I start looking for a breakfast place which is my big meal and they knock it out of the park every time. The service and food are stellar.do yourselves a favor and check it out!

One of the few 'Diners' still left in Toronto. Definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the food!
Excellent menu with some traditional diner items like Mac & Cheese, Meatloaf and Liver & Onions.

Just had a tea and carrot cake. Was delicious. Loved the atmosphere there and staff were lovely.

Literally the best all time diner in the city it's a tourist must experience and it has a patio to-boot, eh!

Really good breakfast, thanks to the waitress who was very kind. The végé sausage worth it, the vanilla milkshake even more.

Never coming back to this place! The servers will EXTORT you for 18% gratuity, despite poor service. Servers automatically add 18% you your post tax bill.

This place is not customer service friendly, nor is it clean. Eat at your own risk.

This review has been downgraded to a 1/2 star. Not sure what happened, but the service, quality of food and the cleanliness of this place has taken a drastic down turn.

The service is exceptionally SLOW, especially in the evening hours. The last several visits, someone at the table has had hair in their food, the quality of the food is on par with frozen dinners, and the place hasn't been cleaned in a decade. Just look at the vents in the dining room!

My collegues and I would make this a weekly breakfast joint, but we have since stopped. You would be better off attending the Upper deck (Top floor of Fran's)

bottom line. Fran's is NO LONGER a service friendly, clean or tasty place to eat.

I always go to one of the locations when I'm in Toronto. Home-cooked meals. I love their ribs.

Honestly a bit of a let down.my wife got the poached eggs on mushrooms and they were very over cooked.

Love how its open 24 hrs. Good prices. Good food. It was my first time here and did not expect it to be packed on a Thursday morning.

We went there for dine and stand at front desk for 5 mins, no one show up. Once someone finally came, we couldn’t find anyone to take our order.

Had a quiet Sunday morning to myself and was looking for a good diner locale to eat in. Stumbled upon Fran's on College (corner of Yonge) but I should have known about it long before since it is somewhat of an institution. Walking in and you return to the days of the original diner experience, complete with PVC cushioned banquettes for two and melamine table tops. Not complaining, just saying.

There are plenty of breakfast options, including and all day selection. I elected for the classic pancakes and a side of bacon. Good 'ole home cookin' style meal! Everything was very good.pancakes were nice and not too doughy. Bacon was crispy just the way I like it. This is a fun place to have a quick meal in the center of town. Enjoy!
