Been here many times and go for pricing, not customer service. The cashiers working in the daytime are racist. I watched them today refer to an immigrant family as being in a zoo. And they are blatantly nice to white customers and then don't speak to others that are non white. Today was the worst I have seen. Shame. We need the groceries and their behaviour is just accepted. Hey manager, hire with diversity in mind. Hey cashiers, some non white people are born and raised in Canada! And try smiling with all customers.

The only reason why this place doesn't get 5 stars is because they don't sell razor blades. They sell shaving cream but not razor blades - what is the deal?
The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is reasonably priced with regular sales on useful items. If you don't want to pay for bags, they usually have empty scrap boxes available to carry out your things.

Two Rude CRUSTY old women running the cashiers whom faces would crack given the chance to attempt making a smile! THIS STORE DOES NOT PRICE MATCH SEVERAL STORES. Produce is always seconds. Worth the drive going to another Freshco farther north in Whitby at the newer store. I honestly dont know whom would ever give this store a rating over 2. At best 1.5 stars! I feel sorry for the elderly that are forced to have a shopping experience at this store. This all falls on the MANAGER. You should be ashamed! The people you hire to represent your store in the front of the store should be just a tad more cheerful, not like they dont want to be there and they just killing time

How things change.
Last year, I left a 5 Star Review.
Yesterday, at 11: 28 a.m, I get the annoyed "Why are you making me work? " look from Heather, who obviously didn't want to open a line and serve me. (She had been leisurely putting up window signs, noticed me patiently waiting and gradually complied to her duties.)
The slow approach to the cash register, the huff as she began the opening process said it all. Everything but an eye roll.
No offer of bags, nothing. Just "Do you have a Scene card? ", "How are you paying? " (a sneer at my debit card) and the total. The fact that my Scene card was still in its folder seemed to be an issue too. She commented on that as well.
The previous customer and the cashier had a lengthy chat about their GICs, investments, etc. I got the bare minimum of conversation.
When the Tap function didn't work on my debit card, Heather all but swatted my hand away! So rude, violent! (I'm 54, not 5. There was no need to treat me like a rude child.). I hope there was video footage of this encounter.
I'm a single parent with two jobs. I spend around $200 per visit regularly. I fail to see the need to show up looking "Real Housewives of. " perfect with hair, makeup, nails, brand name clothing screaming Rich Person and brag about my financial portfolio just to be accepted by a cashier as worthy and buy groceries like anyone else.

Prices are horrible now at Freshco, $98 later today on just a couple of bags of groceries when yet I could get way more groceries than that from Walmart for the same price and I brought my own bags to and it still came up to that price!
I remember being able to get groceries for at least half the price before the pandemic happened at Freshco and now Walmart became the cheapest main go to grocery store for a lot of people these days now!
I also remember Walmart use to be the expensive grocery store and now it is one of the cheapest places to go to now? !

Rodney has to be one of the most disrespectful people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, not only does he overstep professional and personal boundaries but he is blatantly rude while doing it. Coupled with the fact that he looks like a thumb, you should probably just get rid of this guy.

Spacious store with friendly cashiers. Only issue at times it's very hard to find the flyer items in stock. Otherwise very good place for your groceries.

Great selection and even better prices. Fresh produce, friendly staff and a wide selection of groceries. Will definitely shop there again!
