Unfortunate bad experience. Although I really like the place for its variety of products, the cashiers offer very poor customer service

Amazing place to shop. I get help every single time and they always, ALWAYS go above and beyond. Special shout out to Sydney who took extra time to help with finding certain foods and waited patiently to come back. What a Gem!
I look forward to now shopping for groceries, man!

Fresh Co is alright. Things are expensive, crunchy Kraft Peanut Butter was six bucks when Walmart offers it for 3.47.there's not much in terms of selection or shelf space for a lot of things.

Love this store. They make it easy to price match and the recent renovations have made it even easier to find things

This should be called grumpy frescho in st.catharines
(the ontario st.store is the happy one lol) i have been shopping here for many years and i finally had to comment.the workers look very unhappy in their jobs, you will not find a smiling face in the place.except for the odd cashier.this is mainly aimed at the stock people many who have been on site for years.i have never seen a grumpier group of people.alot of these folks are grown adults who obviously are not happy with their life choices.they just scowl as they pass by.i dont expect a party but some smiles, a nod of the head or the odd hello for goes miles in making this frescho a much more pleasant shopping experience.

Have to write this review because I had a very upsetting and humiliating experience at this place today (Sunday, December 26,2021, around 12: 50 pm), unfortunately. I originally came to one of the stores nearby but decided to check FreshCo also in case they have this product as I have seen their advertisement outside. Inside the store I checked the isle where what I was looking for may be located, quickly realized that it’s not there and proceed to exit (without buying anything).

On my way to exit I was asked by a cashier to show them my little backpack (the size of the small purse) I was shocked and confused, and despite I could probably deny to do it, I did show them it as it was literally empty.

Then I went to the store I originally planned to go to, bought what I wanted and the cashier that asked me to show them my backpack suddenly approached me at the parking lot at their smoking break and asked me if I did steal anything. I said that for sure not and what happened at all? They apologized and said that they had to do it because one of the customers “pointed fingers on me”. I still feel bad.

Lots of selection and store is nicely laid out. Convenient north end location. Good prices and quality keep me coming back.

Wow all I can say is wow. I needed customer service from deli at the cash today. Not only was the store owner todd standing 8 ft away having a personal chat with people letting the line go to 4 or 5 people, but the women that was called from deli stopped to chat with him and im assuming friends.they all just had a nice chat for what seemed like forever while myself and cashier stood there waiting 8 ft away.for a 5 second question to be answered. I am embarrassed for this store especially the owner.in 17 years working retail i have never seen such a blatant disregard for customers and there staff. Im just disgusted. Really cant see myself going in there again. Dont work in retail and customer service if your not willing to do your job. Rarely do you get a chance to voice your complaints to the owner of a store and the fact he was standing right there chatting is infuriating. You never want your customers leaving your store with such a feeling like that.

At the beginning of covid they were sanitizing all shopping carts and baskets. They no longer clean the shopping carts. Lately there hasn't been any carts at the front of the store and you have no choice but to wait there for a stranger to bring their cart back.

I looked everywhere for Watercress and Passion fruit and this place had everything I was looking for - for such low prices, the diverse selection is outstanding!

Please pick up tropical avocados:)

It's not bad but it's my least favorite one in the region. The other stores do better at managing crowds, lines, and everything.

No more excelsior espresso? We buy a lot regularly, and it's out of stock for 3 weeks. Had to start buying it at no frills.

Always a lineup here I really don't know why I keep coming back to this store.

Staff is rude, always a line up to checkout. Only 2 cashiers on at all times. This is closest grocery store to us.it's a shame, now we shop elsewhere.

So, they don't line you up outside, but once you get what you need you end up stuck in the back of the store in a 60 person line up to check out with maybe half of their checkouts open. Seems they should pull back on the amount they have inside to ease that line-up that isn't helping in an enclosed space during a pandemic.but it gets people in there to buy regardless by reversing where the line up is making people think they can get in and out fast.put the 4 items I had down and left. In and out of Giant Tiger with those same items cheaper in 5 minutes.

More cashiers! Ive not been in here without cash line up in a year. Saturday am 2 cashiers. 30 people lined up to cash out, this very disappointing.i left shopped elsewhere, as i have many times before

I shop here frequently, few good deals and price is generally decent. They used to not to disinfect carts, but now they do. They put hand sanitizer at the entrance but not sensor, so everyone will touch that and is a way to spread the virus. Otherwise I do like this store for their prices. The thing with grocery stores is that you have to compare prices with others to see what is cheaper where. They used to sell green hot chilies much cheaper but now it is $12/kg which is extremely pricey. I will update if they fixed this issue about hand sanitizer.

This is one of the best stores for fresh produce, and bakery items regarding pricing. Great deals everyday on boneless skinless chicken beasts (2packages for $20) -roughly 8-10chicken breasts or 4.5-5lbs. Everyday! Also great selection of frozen foods and dairy products. One of the best things is that checkouts are quick. Bring a quarter for a buggie/shopping cart

Stopped in today for a few small items. They also sell beer and wine at this location. The cashier was very friendly. Also, this store was very organized and had the lines moving quickly which is great during COVID-19. It was my first time here and I’ll definitely go back.

The staff were friendly and prices of products were good however I found that this store had a lot of tight spacing and this made it hard to keep the required 2 meters distance from others

Always decent service. I'll usually buy non perishables and supplies here, but not produce. Better produce can very easily be found.

Good selection and prices. Sometimes the lines are way too long, but staff is pleasant and helpful.

Great indoor specials sometimes. The freezer showed out of meat that was on sale but cashier was sure truck just came in. She promptly brought me 2 packages. I felt as a valued customer and she went above and beyond her job description in this case. Love FRESHCO

Decent store some good weekly deals, friendly cashiers. Only had an issue once with an employee.

Prices are not what I would hope for, but, I've grown to appreciate how openly they accept my Service Companion. The lack of stress makes it worth the visit!

I have been shopping there for 5 yrs. And everyone is really nice, cashiers may not always be in the greatest of moods all the time but look at what they deal with, us customers are not always nice, I've seen some customers rude to the cahier and yet they go on, why is it ok for us customers to treat the girls like dirt but they always have to smile and be polite to me you get back what you give out.never really had a bad experience thereand they always have what I'm looking for.everyone should realize the girls there deal with alot if your nice they are.

Went to get the freshco earlier to get a couple things and was asked to leave my back pack with the cashier. I shop here almost everyday and bring my back pack so that I don’t need plastic bags. When asked to leave my back pack I felt what he was really saying is ‘ I think you are going to steal’ really crumby feeling. I know they don’t ask women for their purses so I feel there was discrimination involved. The person who suspected me of stealing had a Walter white (breaking bad) tattoo on his forearm. Will be having my girlfriend all management tomorrow.

Decent selection & competitive pricing, but one of their cashiers (Liz) is absolutely awful. The negative attitude she carries around at work makes shopping there a painful chore. I'm looking for another place now to do my grocery shopping at, which is inconvenient to us (my wife & I), as we've been shopping here for the past two years.

It's a good supermarket otherwise, as long as you can avoid her as your cashier.

Rotten Produce: Awful lines the limited item lanes are not enforced. They claim to have fresh produce when i walked into the stoore the other day i was appalled there were multiple stands of tomatoes that were all moldy and rotten with fruit flies all around even the lettuce had all gone bad. Not one produce item looked fresh. Only reason i give 2 stars is they have a good spice selection but thats itm

Sick and tired of buying produce that when i get home half is rotten or moldy do you not take ptide in what you stock. Try sticking to your name FRESHCO which it definitely is not.

Awesome organized store. Found the 5 items I needed quickly, and checkout attendants quick, friendly, efficient! I opt for stores WITHOUT self checkout. Must remember to shop here more often. Close to home, carry brands I use, prices very reasonable. Thanks!

The worse freshco in Ontario the owner Paul is a rude racist lier and scams people and his staff are afraid to stand up to him and the ones who do he fires them

Best store to shop at if you live on a limited income. Great prices. Store is clean & well stocked & staff is helpful

I don't know what it is but I have some kind of connection with this store the first time I was here I locked my keys inside my car and I was in such a bad situation when I was grocery shopping I realize that I was in big trouble. Then I realized that I had received a team on TD Visa card and that they offer free roadside assistance with that card. I called the number right and Robinson Towing came to my rescue right away. So anyways I've been going here for all my groceries as an Indian person they carry a huge selection of Indian groceries like karela and green chiles that we Indians use also paneer so no need to go to Patel Brothers anymore they also have Curry patta. They also have a special Mexican East Indian and Jamaican grocery section where you can get all the Most Wanted items.
Another interesting thing happened which was more heart touching than interesting the manager the lady who has a record voice I forgot her name something with an L anyways she's really sweet so this time I'm buying my groceries and I am like a few dollars short not even like a few cents like I'm literally a few dollars shorts like three to four dollars and this lady completely helps me out I told her I I do not want anyting I will put the groceries back and then she literally put her hands in her pocket and paid for my groceries like people don't do that you know. Also the prices are the best compared to other grocery store

The main reason I come here is because it blows away every other grocery store in terms of international spices. They have almost everything here.

Hand baskets are a rare commodity here, though. What’s up with that?

I recently started shopping here, switching from Food Basics, because the prices and selection of things I buy are better at Freshco.

I like Freshco. They usually have good products on sale, good price overall and very nice fruits and vegetables

I love the sales as well as the location but the cashier Gail M needs to learn some manners or get some more training. Very rude and degrading towards others. If she didn't have an attitude then I would rate 5 out of 5.

Needs more cashier's! Only had 2 working on a Sunday! The store needs to be cleaned up as well. Good prices but if you have the patience to shop there.

There is a lady there name Karen she is the most moody and miserable person I've ever met. Think this lady hasn't cracked a smile since 1972. She should quit and stay home
