Not a pleasant experience with freshco at dundas in Cambridge, I was there yesterday I needed to get some bread cause the bakery i go to it was closed, when I went to grab some bread the whole shelf with bread was molded, I was so surprised to see it at the shelf cause the bread was very noticeable it was big mold that was so gross, last week I grabbed some canned tuna and fish when I got home I noticed that the tuna it was expired since January 18 2022, and canned fish expired on March 3rd 2022, didn't want to make the trip back I ended up throwing it on the trash both the canned tuna and the canned fish I'm never going back to do groceries at Freshco I'm done.
I visited this store last week and again today only to find at least half of the shelves empty. There was no coffee cream, juice, margarine, waffles, ketchup and many other items. I asked the cashier if there was some sort of supply chain issue but she knew nothing. The store manager needs to address this problem immediately. In the meantime I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Hello, Everyone Heads up. Very interesting experience today. They put discount stickers to some of staff they are selling. When you scan the item it show full price.and charge you full price. I asked the clerk why there is a sticker discount and then the scanner charge full price.they told me you need a store card for the applied discount.how about people who don't pay attention what they are scanning.you don't call that stealing.or what.the discount sticker should be for everyone. It looks like the Owner or Manager is cucu.
Was overcharged on two sales items on one bill one repaired at counter the other never noticed till I got home Folgers coffee charged $12.99 it's on sail for $8.99 butter ball turkey with Scene card $25 was charged $52 which got fixed at checkout
I'm disgusted with the price gouging at this store. I've shopped here since opening and always found them fair compared to sobeys and zehrs.but if I'm going to pay the price of bigger box stores. I'm going to shop at them. At least maybe i won't be buying expired dairy at full price. This place has made full profit and more through the pandemic.we all needed food.so. I'm done with this place
I think writing a review of a grocery store is a weird idea - but they continue to block the bike rack and fire exit with shopping carts despite bringing it up a few times.
Saw an incident here last year that still irritates me. If zero stars was an option I would use that. A customer, who by their actions, appearance and behavior I believe had some mental health issues. The customer attempted to steal some food items from the grocery store. When confronted by the manager "John? " and escorted out of the store. Once outside the store the customer spat at them from a distance several times yelling some obscenities. Now, you would think as a manager you would let this person walk away (The customer was clearly leaving the area and fleeing), call the police or in some manner de-escalate the situation. This "manager" then proceeded to follow them across the parking lot, engage them, yell obscenities and spit on the customer. It was truly sad and completely disgusting. As a "manager" who should lead by example, this behavior is the lowest. I feel bad for anyone who works for this person. They are not a person to look up to.
The staff at this Frescho make it my #1 place to shop- they are happy, helpful and seem to know where everything is (even if it's not their department). The prices are low, plus they price match. The shelves are stocked well and sale items are always available. Their produce is great quality and a decent variety. The expansion took some getting used to but they are very organized and the layout makes it easy to find what you're looking for.
Possibly the worst Freshco I've visited. The manager is rude and does not listen to understand but listens to reply! I wanted to return compliment eggs that I got cheaper from Sobeys. He first said you bought it from a different freshco so not possible. Then he said oh it's a refrigerated item so it's already 'contaminated' during the drive. I asked him togive me one reason and not excuses and what if it was dry pasta would you take it back at a different freshco store? He had no response. The receipts do not mention anything abt returns at the same store and their 1888 customer service number says everything is upto the manager's discretion. The manager also never offered to price match since sobeys and freshco carry compliment brands. Its just eggs at the end of the day but dont send $5 coupons to nearby neighbourhoods when you can't do the basics right
I found a lot of new stuff and some old favorites. The addon section of frozen was a nice surprise. Not being from around here, it was good to see ALMOST everybody masked up and not invading social space. Good one
The prices are very reasonable. If you're shopping on a budget I hight recommend Freshco! It has a great selection of international foods compared to other stores.
The store was clean and well stocked. They are currently going through renovations so things were kinda moved around but i found everything on my list.
Great store all people i saw was practicing safe distance and wearing a mask.staff offers a clean sanitized grocery car.and provides hand sanitizer.so friendly and clean there.
This freshco in cambridge has more variety than the hespeler road one people don't usually vandalize here more break ins but people have stopped that lately we come here more often then the other and people are nicer here a bit cleaner than the hespeler road one has lots of fruit vegetables snacks and frozen food can be pretty empty at times people sometimes complain about getting shipments in later but it has gotten better
Got a reasonable variety while still keeping prices very accesible, plus a decent selection of organic products, mainly food staples like beans (chili), rice, and fresh produce, very good overall!
Sort of a cramped Environment a little over merchandised and sort of pseudo Covid safe- wipe downs on carts was rushed and not thorough and no real traffic management at all.
Guy who works the cash register during night shift does not know how to talk without shouting in your face. Seriously lacks self-awareness and customer service skills. Still a better experience than the food basics north of here.
Reasonably priced, excellent service. Lanes are slow at night, but a skeleton crew is kind of to be expected after 9pm. This is probably still my favourite grocery store.
This place is always busy. I wish they had more cashiers open. I don't know about other times, but whenever I am there only 2 or 3 check outs are open.
Produce and chicken is horrible. Purchased chicken breast here and when I opened it 2 days later, it was bad. Brought it back and got attitude from a rude old woman working there who would not exchange it. This happened many months ago and I have not shopped at this location since. Emailed company and owner never did respond.
If you are a vegetarian, it's a challenge in that store. They have their vegetarian frozen entrees in all different areas of the store. The problem is you're walking all over the store to find what you are after.
I've come here twice and the produce was horrible, it was disappointing. The employees I asked for help were rude and I ended up leaving. I'm a pretty easy going person but I was so put off by their lack of communication and care I left the store. I tried calling this location a week ago, wanting to give them another chance and to ask about a product before I came and I couldn't get an answer. I'd rather go to any other grocery store (I've had a much better experience at no frills, another freshco location and zehrs) I hope who ever owns this location hires better employees or starts caring about the customers.
I'm in this FreshCo probably every week or more. Never had any issues with cleanliness or customer service. Everyone is very nice and I enjoy going there, as I do so often.
