FreshCo Steeles & Bathurst

Everything written previously still applies. To wit. There is a better Freshco 2km north, try going there because this place is the. Worst freshco. Absolutely worst. Long lines to check out at all times. Ethnic isles make no sense in arrangements or selections. Can't get good specials in stock, and they remove products from shelves rather than price match. Sometimes items are moved to make them harder to find. If you have to shop at freshco, do so at another location. Yup, they are still awful, still worth going elsewhere.

Had an extremely unpleasant experience shopping at this store today. Lined up to check out and after waiting already for some time, once we got to the counter and were about to unload our groceries, the cashier tells us that if we want to purchase alcohol (2 beer cans) we have to move to the 1st counter. Fine, not a big deal. We go to the 1st counter, wait again for another 10 minutes to get to the front of the cash, then that cashier looks at our cart and says she can't cash us out because she only does less than 16 items and that she can only cash out our 2 beers and we have to go line up again for a 3rd time in a different line for the rest of our items. At this point, my brother and I vocally refused and said we will not be moving lines again as we were directly told by the her fellow cashier that we should pay for our stuff at the 1st counter. The cashier cashed out our cart being visibly irritated. It's incredibly unprofessional and disorganized that the cashiers are playing this type of "ping-pong" with the customers. Furthermore, on a busy Friday evening when the store is packed and lines are forming, why are there only 3 lanes open when it's obviously not enough? This is a consistent issue at this location. While the deals in the store are good, as someone who used to work in the retail/customer service industry for 8+ years, I can say the customer service here is horrendous. Even a simple "I'm sorry about that" from the cashier would have been enough to lighten the mood and change my impression of the situation. I usually do a large grocery shopping here on a bi-weekly basis and have always experienced long lines at cash, but after this experience I will second-guess coming back again.

Affordable prices, clean and can find international foods in can or packs as well. Its accessible and I could recommend this place.

Hi, I live nearby Yonge and Finch and always do groceries from here with my fam from around 6 months and being a loyal customer and *Employees here are Nice and supportive no doubt*. But today I just asked the owner (Jennifer) that you guys hire students as I am looking for internship, she being so rude and immediately said me that we don’t and didn’t even talk properly, I just stand like i have done something wrong and felt really bad.

After 3 years, I found they have been improving. Not often seeing mold in the boxed berries nowadays and the environment is better. Unfortunately, still got an item that has passed the before date, I’ve opened it and ate one. I went back to the store today. The staff, Joy, who helped me with the change/refund. She’s very friendly and efficient. So I’m adding 3 more stars for her nice work!

Slow response of their price checking system. Some of the food/products on shelves are even expired.argh. Things are sorted in a odd way. Why can’t they just put the same stuff together? You can find olive oils in more than 3 locations

The store is big with amazing selection of food from all over the world. Some of their merchandise I have not see in any other location.

3 stars says everything you need to know about FreshCo at Steels & Bathurst. It's loud, a bit chaotic and full of people. Sone of the prices are reasonable and some aren't. You have to know what you're looking for and how much it should be. Checkout lines are long at it's a busy store but the staff are mostly helpful and friendly.

The experience at this FreshCo overall was 7 out of ten. A staff member no mask, and the lady on the express check out wasn't friendly at all. Great experience today, the lady at the checkout was friendly. Unfortunately once again the person at the check out was as friendly as a rattlesnake. Happy to report the cashier this time was more cheerful this visit. Fairly busy this time, but once again, if I was a secret shopper the checkout person fails, for friendly ness, Was at this location again today, wanted to get the Pepsi offered at 2.89. No luck not a Pepsi to be found, Perhaps Pepsi didn't make a delivery.

The people who work here are so kind, and you will find the occasional unusual product for a very good price.

Great store, very overpriced for a franchise of "FreshCo" as it is marketed as a savings grocery store. Sobeys and Superstore which are higher quality stores are often less expensive for many items found here, especially Kosher produce and foods. Kosher items at this FreshCo are not well priced.

Also anytime between seemingly 12 and 8pm there are always long lines for checking out, never enough cashiers to have the customers moving smoothly. The lines are so long and big that people can barely move in the front of the store due to carts and people standing in the area. Makes it difficult to shop there on a regular basis.

Otherwise the selection of produce and foods is good and can be a one stop shop, if you don't mind paying a few more dollars for items and losing time in the lines. (Unfortunately this is seemingly a problem in all grocery stores nowadays).

The one in Richmond Hill is way bigger and better with more options, but this one will supply almost your grocery needs

Another great grocery store. Less gimmicky, but you still have to know your prices. Some things are over priced, but the majority is priced well.

A good, constantly updated assortment of goods by employees. I would especially like to mention Hanna and Yana, Attentive, professional employees, who helped me more than once with the purchase of food and household goods in the FreshCo store.
