Front Street Animal Hospital

I just went today. It went like this: are you a patient with us? No? 600 dollars you have to leave your dog here for observation. We have no appointments, there is a new vet clinic down the street you can go. Can't pay 600 dollars? Yeah there's nothing we can do. Condescending tone, in and out in 3 minutes, not coming back.

I have been to three veterinary hospitals other than VEC, which is for the emergency only animal hospital. The one has the best price located in scarborough, $50 for consultation fee. Then, the front animal hospital is $100. Beach Animal Hospital costs $150. For the exact same situation with my dog. In general, the balanced result of the best vet is still the front animal hospital, based on the assessment of vet experience, location, service, expertise, and the cost.
Bellamy-Lawrence, located in Scarborough, costs the lowest for everything, but I only see young vets work over there. The advice from them are professional. Very cost-effective place if you are on budget. Probably, they charge owest in Toronto. Front Animal Hospital offers a fair price tag with excellent service and a highly experienced vet. Thank God. The vet over there saved my dog life. No rip-off at all. The only place to avoid is Beach Animal Hospital. They overcharge 40%-50% higher than other places, although their vets are good. Way too rip off. And when you make complaints about them, not price-wise. They simply ask you to go to the other veterinary hospital in order to keep their fake good reviews on Google.

Customer experience is abysmal - can never get an appointment and they are horrible at getting back with inquiries (7 day response time?). When you do get an appointment, be prepared to get upsold BIG time. If not for proximity, would absolutely avoid this vet.

I have been looking for a good vet for a while and I'm so glad we found Dr. Barrientos. With his many years of experience he was able to recognize the issues and run the necessary tests needed to confirm his diagnosis. He was patient, and very thorough explaining everything and all our options. We also love that he didn't try to pressure us to change our dog's diet but suggested ways to get the desired outcome with his current raw diet. When I send emails or forms that need to be completed the administrative staff (Kim) is quick to respond and complete. They are efficient and detail oriented! All the staff were so kind and friendly, they all seem like they genuinely love what they do and from the few visits we have had seems like the pets love them too!

I read many comments about this vet that they only use you for the money and they are not interested in the satisfaction of their client, and they are overcharging, even for services that they did not say they were going to do, and it is totally true, super bad experience in this vet, and they don't even care when you complained

I took my dog ​​for a leg x-ray, they put her to sleep, even knowing that I have done many x-rays on my dog ​​and they never gave her anesthesia just for an x-ray but this vet only cares about money, they did a leg x-ray and hey put in the bill that they did an x-ray, of the adomen, pancreas and intestine, to charge more, even knowing they told us it cost 250 and then they charged 400, also the charge for 2 more procedures we don't even know what it is, which they didn't tell us they were going to do, and this vet don't care at all about customers, they just want to make money, I called them to complain and they just said we will call you back which of course they never called us back

Are you deliberately overcharging? The vet told me our xrays were $250, but turned out to be $393 instead. The xray was of a broken leg, but the invoice says we had radiograph series of the stomac, liver etc.

When my gf called, she was told this wrong prodedure on the invoice was to make it cheaper (?) as the xray of the leg ($250) would be more expensive. Sorry, I dont get the logic here.

When my girl Winnie passed away, everyone at the clinic was so compassionate and helpful It is clear that they really care, and I would absolutely trust them in the future.

It was my new puppy's first time at the vet and they did a fabulous job with his vaccinations. He did not seem scared at all and the vet (Dr. Shum) gave me a thorough briefing of what happened, his health, where he was/should be, what we needed to/should work on with him, etc. Highly recommend! Everyone is very friendly and kind at Front Street Animal Hospital!

They were great! Took great care of my puppy Bixie on her first visit. Dr. Kris was super patient explaining all of the shots and options for the happiest and healthiest Bixie girl. They were Covid safe and attending to so many pets that day—which I consider a great sign to me that so many people trust their beloved pets to Front Street Vet! And they thoroughly explained the bill to me before payment. They even answered additional questions after the visit over the phone. I think Bixie & I have found a new home for our journey together!

We had our first puppy visit and was great, due to COVID a lot of protocol were necessary but besides that was a great experience. We are new parents to a Frenchton and they took the time to review and answer all of our questions, give overall recommendations and gave Charly a welcome gift. I would recommend them for sure!

Front Street Animal Hospital has been such a good place for my cat Milan. The facility follows strict COVID-19 protocols, they are always on time, very clean, extremely professional and very loving! The vets know exactly what they are doing. I have been taking Milan there for almost 3 years you can be sure you’re in good hands. Thank you for all you do!

When you drop your fur baby off at Front Street Animal Hospital, you can rest assured knowing the amazing staff will take great care of your companion. FSAH has helped to guide me through the initial stages as a first time puppy mom; answering all my questions from the very first vet appointment, the transparency on fees and the follow up after each appointment or anytime I’ve called to ask the vet a question. I’m so impressed with how professional everyone is - even through a pandemic when it’s a little harder, especially since I can’t be there. If I can provide one opportunity for improvement, it would be to allow the pet owners to wait in the lobby - especially in the winter when it’s cold. Right now, I can go in to Pet Value, but I can’t wait in the lobby to hear how she’s doing throughout her appointment? I hope that is reevaluated while we transition through the restriction zones. Overall, I’m very happy; although Dottie probably won’t be so thrilled when I drop her off to be spayed. Perhaps by the end of April, dog parents can be present for appointments which include anesthesia.

It was fast, the doctor called me and was really thorough, they gave my pup a lil kit of goodies which was so sweet.
I told them that he isn’t eating his dry food they gave us 3 different samples to try from. I definitely would recommend them to your fur baby!

A friend recommended the Front Street Animal Hospital when I got a dog a couple of years ago. They take great care of my dog and have excellent communication regarding his health. I have continued to take my dog here because the service and animal care are superb.

Our first experience with Front Street was amazing. They were so kind and compassionate with our little Rudy. As a new pet parent, I was a little nervous about not being able to go in with him due to Covid-19 protocols, but the vet called while she was examining him and came out to personally introduce herself afterward.

Friendly staff. They really care for the animals. They ensure you don't do any unnecessary procedures or tests. They maintain a cleanly facility that is well organized. They have a great up to date reminder system that uses emails and text messaging. Overall a great experience!

Recently we need an appointment urgently and Front Street Animal Hospital was very quick to accommodate and assist in anyway they could, the Team there is very caring and helpful. During the pandemic they continue to provide excellent care.

I've been taking my pup to FSAH for 4 months now and, I'm extremely pleased with the hospital! We have received excellent care for our pup, despite some delays in getting appointments. I was able to communicate my concerns about the appointments and my pup's health, which were well received and addressed. FSAH has an amazing staff and Dr. Shannon has been very helpful and patient with all our questions. Best of all, my pup enjoys his vet visits and comes home without any anxiety.

Front Street gives my dog better healthcare than I get! They truly care and are very accessible. I’ve called several times with new puppy owner questions, always met with a friendly voice that is willing to help. The texting feature is a game changer - I can text anytime and know they will get back to me, whether it is to book an appt, ask a question, or refill a prescription. If my dog could write this review he would rave, saying that he loves Front Street so much that he throws a fit when we walk by but don’t go in. He runs in excitedly at appointment time and that tells me everything I need to know!

We brought our 11 week old pug puppy Gazpacho here for his second round of vaccinations and the experience for puppy and owner couldn't have been better! The staff is extremely friendly and was responsive to all of our questions, and we had quite a few being first time puppy parents. Even though we couldn't be with Gazpacho during his visit (COVID-19 restrictions), we felt as though we were there with him the entire time as Dr. Szabo called us during the exam to provide a full briefing and answer any questions we had. She provided a detailed explanation of the vaccinations he would be receiving, as well as the non-core vaccinations that are available.

He was in such good spirits upon leaving and was excited to get home and open his care package that included a new Kong toy. He misses the staff already and can't wait to visit with his new friends again soon:)
