Furry Friends Pet Resort

Staff are friendly enough, but many aspects of the business seem to be fly-by-night. There also seems to be a lot of effort placed on marketing and online reputation management (like studiously replying to reviews), and very little on facility maintenance and operations.

1. The “tour” was a waste of a drive. No value on our side our theirs. We gained no new information that wasn’t already available online, and they paid zero attention to our dog, his temperament, etc.

2. In general, there doesn’t seem to be any care placed in qualifying the pets for boarding. Our dog didn’t get to interact with anyone on the tour. No one looked at our forms. I had to fill them out TWICE (somehow they lost the first one?) and they took my dog in without so much as a glance.

3. None of the things we booked were honoured. Primary reason that this was not a 1 star review is that the staff were honest enough to not charge us extra. But we had requested reports, the “doggy condo” and the additional play and stay package. None of these things happened, and no one had an explanation as to why.

4.while this may not be important for dogs, the entire facility looks like an abandoned sanitarium. It doesn’t seem like any care is taken to maintain the facilities. The “grooming room” looks like a torture chamber, with dim lights, dirty floors, and a grooming table so rusted it should be in a landfill. And the smell is significantly worse than a non-for-profit animal shelter.

I don’t doubt that the owners and employees are good people and have good intentions. But there are a lot of things that need to be fixed with operations.

I can’t say enough great things about Furry Friends Pet Resort and their staff. The facilities are terrific, the staff are beyond excellent! You can purchase yummy snacks for nap time. It’s awesome! We considered one and tried another doggy daycare that came highly recommended to us prior to signing Cooper up at FFPR and it just wasn’t the best fit for Cooper. And if there is a service they don’t offer I can’t imagine what it would be. FFPR is the best of the best! Cooper is thriving there. He LOVES it and so do we!

My poor baby had a bad vist, costing me a 450 vet bill. Poor dude had no voice and an eye infection from to much bleach being used. Never going back there

Never going back there. Owners aren't reliable, have lots of excuses for why they aren't at fault. Promised pictures, only got one from first day. Because dogs who are nevous and dont do well with other dogs that are aggressive with play, they get kept in a bubble with minimal attention, so no, no updates. Only group photos of other dogs. Then to find out my dog was kept alone because I didn't feel comfortable having my dog with other dogs more aggressive then him. We filled out the proper paper work addressing are concerns but they couldn't find it. This wasn't are first time leaving him there. Was a bad experience then too, we thought new owners would be better. So finally done meds for his eye infections, skin irritations, he also no longer has a deep bark any more, lost his voice.

Love this place! My Frenchie has IVDD and needs special attention to not reinjure himself. Furry Friends ensured that he got his daily exercise while maintaining no exposure to rough play and limited jumping. The owner is well versed in taking care of pups with special. I feel content that I have found a new boarding place for my Ralphie.

My cats were very well looked after at Furry Friends! They also had their nails cut and ears cleaned! They also had lots of love and pampering. Thanks Tiffany

Great place! I have a nervous, reactive dog and I really struggled with a place to leave him while I travel. On top of this, he has epilepsy and takes a lot of medication that isn’t easy to administer due to allergies - limited on what you can hide it in and regardless, he isn’t easily fooled by pill pockets often ;) Sometimes he fights his meds with other people. In fact, I really hesitated going away because I didn’t have a place I felt super comfortable. Until we tried out Furry Friends! The team put me at ease and helped me understand the process and get to know my pup. We did several visits and a slow transition to longer stays. They are extra patient with him (and me and my questions…or my tears when I do longer trips) and really helped put my mind at ease. They take their time with him and work with him to get him set up. I think it’s now coming up on almost 1.5 years of Charlie visiting. He actually starts going crazy with excitement when we pull in the driveway now. Everyone is friendly and happy when you walk in. Charlie is now a regular here and I couldn’t recommend more! Check them out!

Thor's second stay here. All went well, paid for the stay and play, he was very tired when he came home.

We love this pet resort and know our dogs are happy to come and stay. How? By their behaviours when we tell them that’s where we are going and their happy reaction when we arrive. We believe it’s like a holiday for them in their minds.
Kind caring staff, clean comfy kennels and lots of outdoor supervised play areas. And their favourites…yummy treats We are especially happy with the grooming services they offer here too. We have two Portuguese Water Dogs and they do a great job of giving them the standard lion cut.
We give this place 5 stars and would recommend to our family and friends.

We appreciate the staff's dedication to our pup's health and safety while he was at daycare. Our poodle pup loves this daycare and the staff promptly post photos of updates on their instagram and Facebook handles. The prices are great and they offer early drop off and evening pick ups. We will bring the poodle back when he comes back to Ontario for a visit.

Rusty went to his first Sunday morning puppy play and absolutely loved it. Such a great opportunity for the pups.

Our Springer Spaniel is only 10 months old, but he has been going here for daycare since he was 8 months. He absolutely LOVES it and the staff are so kind to him. Highly recommended.

Terrible booking services. When I arrvied at counter, they said: your request is pending. We don't have any space for your pet. The confirm email you received is only for your change, not for your request. But why didn't you guys decline my request directly? And you guys even sent me a confrim letter to confrim another thing? Finally you guys let me know you cannot accept my pet at the last mintue? Good job, guys.

We can't say Furry Friends in our household without my two dogs loosing it. They love it! We really appreciate the care and joy the team at FF have for our puppers, whether that's puppy social, day care, grooming or training. Thank you Furry Friends!

It began with great customer service, then seeing the genuine love of animals each person has and then, my very happy puppy to a tired, content puppy on the drive home. And that makes me happy.

Can't say enough about Furry Friends but 5+. We have been bringing our two pups here for boarding and grooming and they dont want to leave. Since our one dear pup passed away suddenly a few weeks ago our younger very active pup was missing the playtime so we started bringing him here once a week for daycare. He already knew where he was going the second week and was so excited. The other pups and staff were there to greet him at the gate and he ran right in to play not even looking back. It's wonderful to have somewhere to leave your loved furbaby that can be 100% trusted.

Great place with caring staff! Took our beagle, Luna, there for her first stay away from home for a few nights. When we picked her up, although happy to see us, I think she wanted to stay a bit longer!

I took our pug cross, Rocky, in for his very first professional grooming since his hair is on the longer side and was having issues with mating by his ears as well as the length of his coat in other areas.
I tell ya, it was the best decision to take him to their groomers. They were very welcoming and made us all feel at ease, even Rocky.
Upon finishing, he was a brand new dog. So handsome and was very proud of his new look. He even came with a red bow tied around his neck. It's the little touches for sure. I still cant believe the transformation.
Thank you so so very much, to all the staff. He was very well taken care of, and we will be back for sure.

I would give them more than 5 stars if I could! We love this place. The location is great for us, the space is a good size, the prices are good, the staff are very friendly and helpful and my dog cries as soon as we pull into the driveway because she is so excited to be there! And when I return to pick her up she pretends she doesn’t know me. Lol. They have always made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog there.

Furry Friends and their puppy socials have been a game changer for our Coco. She gets so excited for her visits and is much more playful and confident with the other dogs in our neighborhood.

Great experience, nice big property, loving and respectful staff, super happy dogs, I highly recommend this place, dog lovers are dog lovers.

Wow we took our 5 month old puppy today and they were great! They paid attention to her needs and, based on the fact that she has been sleeping since we got home, it seems like she had a great time.

We are always pleased with the grooming services Anita provides. Our girl is a little nervous with strangers but Anita gives her that little extra attention and care that calms her down, and we are definately pleased with the grooming results. We can highly recommend Furry Friends.

I was having a hard time finding a daycare for my dog in the Courtice area and I am so happy a family member recommended Furry Friends! I emailed them with some questions and immediately received a reply with lots of info. When we went for the first time they had already put some of the more playful dogs in a different area to ensure mine felt comfortable going in, Shauna also took me on a tour and gave me lots of information about the facilities. Everyone is SO friendly and genuinely love the dogs. There’s never an overwhelming amount of dogs, so you can be sure your pup will get lots of attention and will be well taken care of!

I will only bring my dog here for boarding, the staff love him as if he is their own. He also has special dietary requirements which they always accomodate. He also doesn't like most male dogs so they let him be with the dogs he likes.the ladies

We just had our 12 year old Golden Retriever groomed by Sharon. She was fabulous, kind and Knowledgeable. It was definitely worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. Thank you so much.

Wonderful place, stunning property, agility course and diving pool. The groomer Anita is lovely and our dogs love going to see her! Their prices stomp the competition. The resident duck trolling retrievers are beautiful dogs!

Dropped our pup off at doggy daycare for a half day, the staff and specifically Kayla were very friendly and helpful. The yard was large and full of obstacles to keep the dogs occupied. I was at ease leaving piper there because she has separation anxiety, she can get nervous around other dogs, but Kayla ensured us that she would be slowly integrated with the other dogs. The staff treat them like their own, piper was cold so one of the staff members wrapped her up in her own jacket. At the end of the day Kayla showed us some tips and tricks for walking on a leash. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back for more day care.

My puppy goes here for daycare and she loves it! The crew is incredibly friendly and are great with the animals. I definitely recommend:)

I can't reccommend this place enough! Our pup has been coming for months and he receives amazing care and is always so happy to arrive and play.

Furry Friends has been wonderful with my fur baby Piper. I know that when I leave her at daycare for the day that she is in great hands and that she is going come home tired from a full day of fresh air, running and playing. It is a wonderful feeling when the staff are just as excited as your puppy at drop off.

We take our Benny for grooming with Anita and she always does an amazing job! He’s an anxious old pup but Anita takes such great care of him and makes him feel comfortable. He’s always relaxed and laying down when I pick him up which makes me happy to see because I know he’s not stressed while I’m gone. He always look so fresh and cute! Thank you.

I have sent both of my pointer dogs here for day care and boarding. I have nothing but positive things to say. They have a good facility and lots of friends for my boys to play with. I will definitely keep coming back.

Took our miniature schnauzer there to get groomed. Anita did a superb job! Clipped Zoe just like we asked & even put a pretty pink bow on her collar when she was done. Their Groomer is really nice and very professional. Our dog was groomed in no time & we will definitely be taking her back to get groomed again!

There is no one I'd trust more to watch my dogs than the new owners - Sherri and Shauna. The care they take of their own dogs speaks volumes about the care your furry friend will receive. And believe me, I'm VERY picky when it comes to who watches my dogs! If you are looking for a place to leave your furry friend - you've found the perfect spot!

Just brought my furry 65lbs husky for a spa and grooming. Anita never disappoints with the awesome grooming of my big girl! The new owners are very friendly and very welcoming! Always a smile and a hello from everyone! The surroundings are all well kept and clean. Love the added touch to take a picture of my nicely cleaned and brushed dog in front of the autumn display! Strongly recommended! You will be very pleased with everything.

The facilities are great and the staff are wonderful. My three dogs love to go there and burn off their excess energy playing in the fields. Shauna and Sherri run an excellent operation.their love of dogs shines through!

I dont trust alot of people with my 2 dogs but I have to say Furry Friends Pet Resort is the best ever. The staff is amazing they are very helpful they will work with you with what ever you need. They treat my dog as there own. You truly see how much they care for all the pet that go there. There price is very reasonable. I would not take my dogs anywhere else.

I can’t say enough about how they care so much for every pet they look after! The owners really take pride in what they do - each pet is like family to them, and the staff is so awesome! Highly recommended!

The staff are amazing and take care of the animals as if they are their own. My dogs love it here! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Furry Friends Pet Resort is an amazing facility that takes your dogs health and wellness seriously. They have plenty of well versed staff who love the dogs unconditionally. The dogs are broken down into smaller groups of similar size, personality, age etc. There are playground toys, pools in the summer and they offer a wide variety of services including grooming, nail trimming and country walks!

I highly recommend this resort for your pet. If you are trusting someone with your fur-baby you want to be assured they are well taken care of.

My boy Gunner goes to daycares across the province when we travel but Furry Friends is my home daycare, 10 mins from my home in a beautiful country setting.

The peaceful energy of Furry Friends Pet Resort is felt the moment you drive into the property. The upgrades the new owners have already made are all such positive steps to make each animals stay safe, fun and stimulating. I can hardly wait to see what other surprises Sherri and Shauna have planned for Thier Furry Friends!

I know the owners well, and can guarantee you will never leave your pet with more loving, responsible and knowledgeable people. Your pet will be very well cared for! I am planning to use their kennel and grooming services in the near future, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend that you do the same.

This used to be Kalmegess Kennels, but now there are new owners. I hope that things will remain the same including service, so far from our one visit things are good!
