Got a tattoo here the other day from Beth. Had a great overall experience and would go again

NEVER EVER GET A TATTOO HERE! I got my first ever tattoo here in June 2022 and it is my biggest regret. 2 years later I am currently working on covering it up with a different shop. The process has been extremely painful due to it not only being a cover up but because the artist who did my tattoo at this shop went extremely deep and caused scaring and damage to my skin. Most of their tattoo artists are apprentices, which they won’t tell you. I am currently 19 and got this done when I was 17 at this shop without parental consent, I used an edited id on my phone at the time which they accepted. They were the only shop in Ottawa that would accept a picture of an ID and being a dumb 17 year old I was eager to go to the first place who would accept it. They should have never accepted my picture of the id on the phone as it is not technically a valid id. Please never go here.

Juan did my tattoo in april 2023. I originally asked for a small star tattoo on my finger but he explained that it wouldn’t be possible. So we agreed to do it on my wrist instead.the tattoo doesn’t look like the stencil at all and i was not happy with the result as soon as i saw what he had chosen to do.

It has been 9 months now and my tattoo is scarred and blown out. My tattoo costed $200 and is 1” x 1” it took him five minutes to do.his lack of care infuriates me.if you can’t do small tattoos then just say that.the second photo is what i asked for.

Got a tattoo done by Elizabeth here, as well as permanent makeup by her. She was amazing, her lines were very crisp and she was very professional. Also got a nose piercing by Bente here, she was amazing as well. She was very good to show me that everything was sterilized and the process was very fast and painless. Would totally recommend to anyone and will definitely go back! Amazing staff all around and lovely clean shop.

Everytime I have dealt with this business I feel very uneasy as if it is illegitimate. From the emojis in emails, not being able to book with half the artists on the website and the instagram growing over 96k followers in a months time. I just do not trust this establishment.

I had my tattoo done at future skin tattoo shop. The staff were friendly and the artist Niloo who did my Tatoo was great too work with, very talented and did a great job. The shop was clean and welcoming. I was completely satisfied with my visit and would definitely come back for another tattoo.

Absolute worst shop in Ottawa I heard the boss scream at the desk lady through the phone at the top of her lungs. I feel bad for the employees

I received a horrible tattoo from this establishment. Some of the staff were very nice but the owner is a complete psycho path seems like she might be intoxicated when answering emails hopefully we can fix this situation.

I’ve bern going there for 5 years now, and today i lived the worst experience ever.
I scheduled an appointment for 9pm, arrived there 10 min early and started discussing the fonts of the tattoos i wanted. At the end, the staff member who was supposed to do my tattoo happens to be unable to give me what i want. Fine, i’ll try somewhere else.
It’s night and freezing, i’m cold so i decide to put my face in my coat so that i can better bear the weather while waiting for the car i ordered outside.
The staff member says goodbye, i answer in my muffled voice and leave.
After i made it home, i receive a very distasteful email from the owner, saying how i was “rude” to her staff (who probably just didn’t hear me) and where she is quite disrespectful towards me.

Sincerely, i’ve never had such an awful time in a tattoo parlour in my life and i am glad to never put my feet in that place ever again.
I put the one star just for one tattoo i had done there before. But if you could manage to go somewhere else, please, do so.

Truly an amazing experience, super clean and professional. Kip is awesome, and the owner Julie couldn't have made the process easier.

Got my septum, nose and navel pierced here and am always happy with my results. Honestly one of my go to tattoo / piercing place in the city. The vibe is always welcoming and the artists/staff are super friendly!

I would give them a 0-review if I could. Quite frankly the worst piercing place in Ottawa. I went in at approximately 2: 30 pm on Wed Dec1st to get my second piercing done, and the piercer was rude. It started when he marked the first piercing on the right ear, and I stated it was too high; he argued with me, saying he knew what was best. Fine, he carried on. Moving to the second piercing, he marked the spot, not allowing me to review the mark; he pierced the left ear, which hurt worse than the first, a red flag. Once he finished, he said I could check them, but what am I reviewing if you have done the piercing. After looking in the mirror, I immediately stated it off, and the left one was way too high, which would require a piercing between them to balance it out. He said, "no I don't understand piercing; they were fine. "
I should have honestly left the second he said I could not be on face-time during my session. I went back and had them removed at 3: 01 because they were horrible. I asked for a refund. He said: "no refunds, " which was not stated on the signed waiver even though they did a horrendous job. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. EVEN CLAIRES WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I AM NOW BLOCKED ON INSTAGRAM BECAUSE I POSTED THE HORROR STORY. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Daughter went in tonight to get her nose pierced. Very professional and well-organized. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially Aziza who made her feel extremely comfortable and at ease. Daughter is super happy! Thanks again!

Monday evening i went to that shop see Emma, for a Medusa piercing. When she did the piercing, we had a bleeding period where she asked me if I was taking any med that could make me bleed easier. (Which isn't the case). She sold me the mouthwash and saline water bottle which says on the bottle: single usage" as, once it's opened, , since it is a bottle with a twist cap on it, it is not considered a free of bacteria. Anyways, Tuesday morning the jewelry was getting inside my lip, due to too short jelwry and over swollen lip. I started to bruised a lot.
Went to two different tattoo shop near by my work and both places said the same thing: the piercing has been done on an angle which got the piercing to be done the the thickest part of the lips (supposed to be the thiniest or it will take forever to heal), jelwry too short and cheapest I could get. I ended up having to take it out. I sent an email to the owner asking for a refund has the piercing wasn't done properly and thatif we couldn't agree on that i will write this reco.
So now, I'm adding to this place awful customer service. (I also posted pictures)

I had my lobes pierced here, Future Skin provided great service! It was a friendly and professional environment. I do wish that they had a selection of earrings to pick from, unfortunately I had to go with the stud earrings they provided. Other than that I am pleased with my purchase.

Juan is an amazing tattooist, he made me feel very comfortable for my multi hour and two appoints to complete my tattoo sleeve. Its a great place with friendly staff. Price was right for the quality of work. The manager Julie, stayed in touch with me through out the few months in order to schedule and reschedule appointments as per my work schedule.

I got a double helix piercing here. The experience itself was great and the piecing went well. The Jewelry they used on me was bit. I have a friend who also git a helix piercing at the same time as me at a different place and they gave her straight jewelry instead of curved ones (i got the curved ones). Hers have healed wonderfully and look great, mine hurt despite taking care of them all the time and have been swollen since I got them.

Good spot, a little pricey but good quality for sure. The artist Justin very good and professional even though I wasn’t booked with him. Other artist made me feel unwelcome though but other than that great spot.

Got my nose piercing done by Aziza and it was honestly a relatively quick and super clean process. The place is clean, the vibe is dope. Overall I'm pretty pleased. And free saline solution? Worth. Every. Penny.

This was my first time getting a tattoo at the age of 60. I wanted something in memory of my Mom and Dad. Ella, my tattoo artist, was so helpful and very professional. She presented me with a couple of options. She is truly a wonderful artist. She made me feel so comfortable during the process and made sure I was doing okay. All of the staff were very professional and encouraging. I highly recommend this place for your tattoo needs. The owner, Julie, was quick to respond to my emails when I had a concern. I would definitely support this wonderful business.

Our daughter is thrilled with her first tattoo as am I and her dad, it is perfect. Huge thanks to Niloo, who also really put her at ease.

At the beggining of August I came to get 2 piercings, one being my belly button. Kip was my piercer and overall the experience was fine, nothing too concerning. However the next day my belly button became very inflamed and swollen, and the top ball was digging into my skin and was very painful. After 4 days I started to notice the ball sinking into my skin more. 1 week goes by and it's becoming embedded due to the bar being too small. I return back to get the bar changed, and he inserts a plastic like bar that isn't even curved. Then he asks me how often I clean it with alcohol, ofcourse I answered I don't use alcohol just saline soaks and washes and warm compresses.he then proceeded to tell me "well like any wound you need to clean it with alcohol! At least 3 times a week. Saline doesn't disinfect. " now, I'm a nurse so I know that saline does disinfect, as that's all I use to cleanse wounds.if I followed his advice I would have made things much worse, and would dry it out and further irritate it. I go home thinking it might be okay, but it's been 2 weeks plus since it's been changed and it's still very red and draining. I got a few second opinions and unfortunately have been told that it needs to be removed due to poor positioning as well as material since that material should not be put inside a new piercing. This has been upsetting, to the point I don't even want to go back to get it removed.

I spoke with the owner about getting my tattoo done and she booked me in herself. After paying my deposit and showing up 15 minutes early, sitting with an artist for over an hour to draw up my design, it being 4 lines and a circle. The owner called the store and denied my design, saying something about not wanting to ruin her reputation by doing this design. She was extremely rude over the phone and kept calling me "honey. " I have not received my deposit back.

I've gotten a couple tattoos from here now, and both times Justin has done an amazing job! He was super nice and i'll for sure be coming back.

Love my tattoo. Everyone was very kind, however time management doesn’t seem to be the best. After waiting about 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment, I was told they were running slightly behind schedule and it would be another 30 minutes. After that 30 minutes was up it changed to another 40 minutes. Luckily I had no where to be and didn’t mind waiting, however a phone call or email letting me know they were running behind would have been nice, as I wouldn’t have had to sit in the shop/car for 2 hours.

I got a septum piercing yesterday and it was super chill.the place is not sketchy, it’s very clean.the workers are super chill and kind (they also got a great fashion sense). The piercer that i had was Aziza and she was amazing! She did a great job.i absolutely recommend that place<3

Super shop! The owner Julie is fun to deal with and always replies quickly to any questions. Got a new tattoo done by Mathieu and already have another one booked! Great work, great people, great environment! Can't recommend them enough!

I recently had a tattoo done by Justin. Justin took my vague description of what I wanted and quickly created exactly what I didn’t know I wanted. Justin was patient and accommodating when I requested any changes. Justin was thoughtful, asking often if I needed a break. This being only my second tattoo, I appreciated him explaining everything he was going to do before actually doing it. I am beyond happy with my tattoo and would highly recommend Future Skin.

Very clean and spacious! I went in to get my cartilage piercings replaced and I also got my nose done. Kip is great, will be coming back.

They are extremely helpful! I trust them so much when it comes to piercing as they are so knowledgeable. In addition to that they are very kind and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with them!

Got tattoo by Mathieu a cover up I am very impressed. As well I felt very good during covid, they took my temperature at the door Brianna took care of me professionally. It is on appointment only have to email the owner who took care of me several years ago great person. I strongly recommend them from following all the covid regulation.

Melo tattoo artist made me very happy with my chest tattoo I strongly recommend him. The shop is the cleanest I never seen the atmosphere is very nice guys were joking around I definitely will return soon.

Got my neck tattooed by Juan, did my daughters name he did a super good job and I ended up applying to work here and now I work front desk all the artists are super friendly as well as fair. Would recommend futureskin to anyone looking to get pierced or tattooed!

Francisco is the only artist I would trust, as I’ve seen and heard of botched tattoos from the other artists at the shop. The owner does all the pricing, and she overcharges severely.

The artists don’t choose the tattoos they do. The booking system is garbage, and the website doesn’t match any of the info you’re given when you arrive at the shop.

Not only are tattoos dodgy, but.
Prices for a single piercing are 99.45 some days. $100 for ONE piercing, yet they have days when a single piercing is 76.85

If you’re gonna go here, just know that the owner is a money hungry person who doesn’t care about staff or clients and you may want to reconsider getting tattooed from this shop.

First off I would like to say that I do love the tattoo that I got but the experience was absolutely horrible, I gave two stars because at least I left with something I liked. I inquired about this shop through Instagram where I spoke with Julie the owner. I explained to her in detail where I wanted the tattoo and what font it was in (just a small script piece, very simple 5 words) and she said it was absolutely doable and quoted me 100$ and asked me to pay half as a deposit (yes, she said the word “half”) so I transfer the deposit and let her know my name for the booking which was a couple weeks later at 4pm. I arrive 15 mins early on the day of to ensure I could speak with the artist and confirm my ideas, I get to the counter and find out that they didn’t even book me under my name, they booked under my Instagram handle so I spent a good 10 mins arguing with the receptionist as she was saying I didn’t have an appointment. Eventually it was found and I spoke to the artist, but after speaking with him, Julie had relayed NONE of the information I sent her so I had to re-explain to him my vision. At this time he told me that what I wanted wasn’t possible and it would have to be in a totally different place than what I originally wanted. This frustrated me as Julie is supposedly 27 years experienced in this industry and she told me it was perfectly doable. Eventually we come up with a size and placement that works for both of us and he sets up his station and I get tattooed. By the time it’s done it’s 6: 30 due to all of the confusion. I then go to the front desk where she tells me my tattoo will now be $320. I’m sorry but WHAT? ! No one could have told me this before I sat down? It was such a basic piece that I was told would be $100 and now it’s triple in price? I could’ve literally gone anywhere else and paid $80 for it it was so simple. And the fact that no one warned me about the price jump? You could say that I was being a “Karen” as I argued with the receptionist over the price but what was I to do? It was already on my body. So I had no choice but to pay this ridiculous amount and the receptionist proceeded to trash talk Julie, the owner. Saying how she’s not very smart and doesn’t know what she’s talking about when it comes to tattoos so these kind of discrepancies happen a lot. I am in no position to try and cost anyone there job but no employee should feel comfortable trash talking the owner or managers like that. Before I left I asked my artists name for Instagram and they refused to tell me because I was an “angry” customer and they don’t want the bad publicity. Well, I hate to tell you but here we are, welcome to bad publicity. I really hope people think twice before going here.

Note: I find it funny that Julie changes the amount of years she’s been in the business so often.seriously, check the one star reviews, a week ago it was 25 years and a month ago it was 20 years but on Instagram it says 27 years.which one is it? !

Seems like an okay store with good artists but have overheard about mistreatment of the front staff including at yelling at them on the phone.

Went for 2 for $60 piercings with a friend and the experience was great! Clean, professional environment and our piercer so friendly!

I received some ink from an old artist over a decade ago. Love your new studio, planning to come In for a piercing and a semi cover up. Excited to see what you guys and gals can do.

Had a coverup done by Matheu super happy beautiful piece was patient understanding and made sure it met my expectations definitely going bk for my future pieces thx guys awesome job

My experience getting inked at Future Skin was quite terrible. My tattoo ‘artist’ agreed to take on the arm band tattoo I designed despite having no proficiency in this area. What I ended up with was a crooked armband that looked like it had been inked by a child. While my tattooer was working on me his colleague was urging him to hurry up so they could go to a concert which was clearly very unprofessional and this was after him arriving late to begin with. My experience turned from bad to worse a couple of days later when my tattoo became infected resulting in me having to take a course of antibiotics. This tattooer is a frequent smoker and I doubt he was following proper procedure and putting on new gloves after every smoke break as he should. I returned one last time yesterday to get a scheduled touch up appointment that I waited 2 weeks for and my tattoo artist didn’t even bother to show up!

This was my experience with one particular artist and probably does not reflect on the average experience at this shop. Just know that you’re paying a premium due to this place’s location and not for the quality of the tattoos.

Went to their walk-in for a simple lobe piercing, was super fast and professional.my ear holes still look great lol

Went here to get daith piercings the piercer told me after filling out the form that my ears where to small to have it done, I went to another place and had it done with no problems. Dont understand why he said what he did.

My niece, cousin and I went in yesterday to celebrate International Women's day. My neice got her nose peiced by Kip and it was a fantasic experience.

My cousin and I saw Mat for two matching tattoos and he was just as fantastic.friendly, answered my neice's questions etc and gave us wonderful tattoos

The front desk guy was a great representative of your business. He was attentive, he kept us updated on the time and apologized when they ran a bit late.

Went to get my eyebrow pierced, it went super well, and the Wednesday piercing special is fantastic.
If you do go, which I recommend, keep in mind that it’s a cash only establishment (I overlooked this). They do have an ATM though, so it isn’t a huge deal if you go without knowing:)

I came to Ottawa for the weekend and decided with 3 other people to get tattoos very last minute, the guy at the service desk was very attentive and they fit us in the next day! When we showed Juan who we booked with was sick but squeezed us in with Sunil, especially for my first tattoo experience I was PLEASANTLY pleased, Sunil is amazing, his work even better! I’m definitely making the trip back down to get my tattoo shaded by Sunil! 12/10!

Went for piercings, it was my first time and I was a little anxious. The piercer was super nice and understanding as well as extremely patient with my friend and I. Thank you for making that scary experience feel a little less scary! The instructions they gave for upkeep were very clear and worked wonderfully. I will definitely be coming back for a tattoo

I could not have chosen a better place to get one of the worst piercings (pain wise) of my life done. Kip was very professional, and personable. Guy at the desk was chill. Definitely would return here again!

No, I did my research to other Tattoo places, you guys were Super Expensive. I regret coming to your place, and I had to pay an additional $50 for touch-up, 1st time the client had to pay for touch up.

Great place. Had my first tattoo here and they couldn't be more accommodating. Line work is unreal and the artists are very helpful to any questions you might have. Will be coming here for all my future inking needs.

Guy at the front desk was awesome, wait for a walk in wasn’t long. The piercer we had was extremely unprofessional. I’ve had 10 piercings done at shops in the past, the guy here didn’t explain to my friend who was getting her first piercing and he didn’t bother to explain to her how to clean it or any after care. Was super impatient with her being nervous. Piercings came out nice but the piercer didn’t seem to care about the clients and yelled at us for taking a video saying there was a no filming sign (that wasn’t visible) and could have just politely told us instead of swearing at us. Don’t get a piercing here.

I've had all 15 of my piercings done at a different shop. I'm not picky and I don't have high expectations, I'm not looking for extreme or amazing customer service but I do look for a place that is knowledgeable.
I came here because I had a friend that highly recommended it. And she told me they had good specials on piercings.
I've never gotten my piercings anywhere else before but I thought I'd give this place a chance and I was extremely excited.
My commute is over an hour to get here so when I came on Saturday and they told me that their piercer was on vacation I was disappointed.of course I understood so I gathered all the information I needed and I decided to come the next day as I was told I would be able to get it (three piercings).
Once I got home that night, the information that I was given did not match what they had online so I had to call back for clarifications.then the next day after my commute I arrived there to find out that their piercer was sick and not available. At that point I was not happy at all but understood that they can get sick as well. I asked the receptionist that they the same questions in hopes of perhaps coming another day in the future, but the information desk receptionist gave me was not what the previous receptionist had told me and they seem to have different answers.
They also had mixed information about their piercer, one said they were on vacation and the other said they don't have a piercer on Saturdays. (Yep they have a special for piercing specifically on Saturday)
I was not happy with the lack of knowledge and experience of the receptionist that I saw on both days. And I definitely was not happy about their piercers being on vacation and sick for two days in a row.of course I understand that that can happen but personally from a customer's experience and this being the first time that I came to the shop, I will not come again. It does not matter if their prices and specials are cheaper the confusion and disappointment I felt is not worth it and I will pay to go anywhere else.

Julie is my new go-to for all piercings. She's incredible! I can't speak to the other artists' abilities, but I can at least assure you that they're all very friendly and very professional. The shop itself is gorgeous, clean and upscale.

I got my first two tattoos ever from Future skin and I couldn't be happier. The owner was nice enough to give me a discount for getting two at the same time. As the tattoo finished, I began to feel light headed and she promptly grabbed me a Dr. Pepper and told me to drink it and lie down. Thank you for the great work!

Excellent as always. Friendly, professional, and clean. Julie is a wonderful and attentive piercer and I will definitely be going back if I need even more holes in my ears!
