I had a great experience from beginning to end! Dr. J. Hall was professional and very friendly. My glasses fitting with Jennifer Atwater was excellent, Jen went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my glasses were comfortable and made just right. Great attention to detail and highly competent at her job. A big thank you to the entire FYidoctor Cambridge team.

On the two occasions I have been at FYI Doctors, for both a check up for my son and for myself, we were taken care of by the dynamic, young, very fit looking, friendly, affable professional Dr. Jordan Hall. What a ride it felt like we were on during our visits practically flying through on Jordan’s jetstream. I say that because of how quick a visit it felt like, but ever so efficient he was from the time he had a look at the state of our eyes followed by whisking us in for our eye tests. Jordan inspires confidence tempted to say even swagger like talking shop as if talking about his favourite hockey team. Ask him anything and outcome what seem like routine answers. His replies are so matter of fact exuding incredible enthusiasm leaving me believe he sincerely enjoys his craft.

Without any hesitation, as in sports parlance, I felt we were in Jordan’s wheelhouse, a real pro. I would not think twice in recommending anyone avail of his services.

I was also impressed with the experience I had in regards to my eyeglasses fitting with Janis. She was very patient and took pride in what she did double checking her measurements and doing her, or rather my due diligence, in terms of verifying my insurance coverage and let me know to expect up to a two week lapse before receiving my new glasses.

Well, to my delight within a week I was notified to come in to collect my new glasses. There I was taken care of by Kayla who made sure I got the right fit and confirmed my excellent after purchase insurance.

All in all, a great experience at FYi doctors.

Carolina saved my vacation!
My dog decided to go through my purse while I was out last night. He managed to break my prescription sunglasses in two. We were leaving today and I was woking this morning. My husband took them into FYidoctors and they worked diligently to find a frame that the lenses would work with. Success! I now can actually enjoy the views and the vacation. Thank you!

Dr. Hall has been my eye doctor for 37 years. I have a number of eye issues and I found that he has always given great care and taken the time to explain the situation and my prescription. Now my family goes here. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I brought my 4 year old son into get checked and I was so impressed with Dr. Hall. He was so friendly and made my little guy so comfortable and was able to figure out his prescription needed for his glasses. What an awesome experience. My whole family will be moving to this FYI location. The ladies in the office are sweet too! Makes it less stressful of an experience when they are experienced with young children.

This was my first time at FYI Doctors Harris St and it was a great experience. Dr. Wells made my exam easy. When I needed to pick out glasses Jocelyn was a great help and answered all my questions. I am happy with my experience with this office.

So disappointed… was here two weeks ago and everyone was wearing masks. Came to pick up my glasses and now no one is wearing a mask. Indoors and up close to patients just as the back to school covid spike is happening. Not very science based decision for health care professionals.

Hands down, the most comfortable and caring experience from Dr. Zammit each and every time. The staff, with special shout out to Marg who is always so helpful. She goes beyond to ensure my glasses get the repairs they need and more. Thank you for caring! I highly recommend visiting.

I have worn glasses my whole life and this is by far the best optometrist office I have ever used! Dr. Ted is fantastic and great to chat with. I love that a dedicated staff member helps to pick frames and offers their opinion. I was recently helped by Tabitha who was excellent. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

When I first saw the doctor, he recommended tri-focal glasses to wear for work, reading and distance. After I picked them up and tried them on at their office, I couldn't read the text and told them right away. They dismissed me, saying that I have to give my eyes time to get used to them. I wore them for several weeks and still had the same issue and could not use them for work or reading at all. I went back and told them, they dismissed me again, and this time the doctor was extremely angry at me, he was very rude and condescending. I couldn't believe I was being treated this way. I had to wait over two years to get another pair since I was on disability and was immediately informed by the same doctor that I was given the wrong prescription that he provided! He never apologized nor offered any replacement glasses for free (not even prescription sunglasses which I can't afford) for the way he treated me! He never acknowledged that he made a mistake nor offered to re-do the eye test to confirm the problem. I'm still waiting for an apology and money back.

My husband recently got some metal in his eye while wearing safety glasses too. I was very concerned, obviously contemplated going to local ER department or just waiting it out. After carefully thinking about this, I suggested he wait until the next morning when the Optometrist was open, clearly ER doctors are not eye doctors or specialists of the eye. I bought eye rinse at Shoppers in hopes to get the metal out of his eye. Nothing worked and him rubbing it certainly didn’t help it. I called Dr. Michael Hall’s office and asked if they would see my husband on an urgent basis. The office was so kind and accommodating, they booked him in right away. We were greeted by Dr. Michael Hall bad brought into the exam room. Me being the over bearing wife and Nurse needed to go in lol.
Dr. Hall was so amazing, he explained everything, an absolute expert and removed the metal and rust from my husbands eye. It was painless and we were educated along with given a prescription for drops to follow. Dr. Michael Hall is incredible, he is so professional and the person to see for your eyes. I cannot thank him and the staff enough. Your eyes are extremely important, never hesitate or opt to see anyone else other than an eye specialist like Dr. Hall. Thank you Dr. Hall and the staff at FYI on Water St. In Cambridge.

***Update: it seems that my experience described below was based on interactions with an employee that subsequently left the organization - after my concerns were raised to the correct level they were more than happy to work with me to come up with a resolution. ***

They will purposefully withhold information on your prescription to make it difficult to purchase glasses elsewhere.

Unless you're willing to purchase one of their stock frames from the 90's, receptionists are rude an unhelpful - I didn't double check.but I think they are all named "Karen". Manager escalations are a routine business here.

Instead of remedying the deficiencies in the prescription they blamed "head office" and suggested that I file a complaint with College of Opticians.if you go here make sure you factor in the cost of having to get a second eye exam to get a useable prescription.

I called hoping to get clarification on if an appointment for my son was needed or not. He has a red itchy eye and I want to make sure he is ok, but I wasn’t totally sure he needed a doctor appointment. I was explaining that and was just hoping to received a simple “yes, let’s make him an appointment” or “no, give it a day and if it doesn’t get better, call us back”. Instead I was greeted with a very rude receptionist. She was so condescending and difficult. When I had said I thought maybe it was pink eye she was quick to shut me down and say “I highly doubt it’s pink eye”, but then in the next breath she said “we can’t diagnose over the phone”. All of this was said very rudely. I wasn’t looking for a diagnosis from a receptionist. I was just wondering if a red itchy eye warranted an appointment or not. I ended up just telling her to never mind. I guess I’ll try another office to see if their staff is a little more professional and friendly.

My husband had an appointment booked a month in advanced. He lefted work early and was told that he didn't have an appointment. It was their mistake they should have taken him, so unprofessional so if you are looking for a place don't go here!

Extremely busy when I arrived, didn't have time to wait so unfortunately will need to reschedule. Will keep you updated. Today's update Feb 5th/20. I am so glad I decided to return and give FYi a second chance. Dr. Michael Hall was fabulous as were the rest of the staff. Dr. Hall was quick to offer me his apologies for my first visit. I am happy I returned I was extremely pleased at how helpful and informative Dr. Hall was. They have all the new computerized equipment that they have at their disposal to ensure the highest level of care possible. Highly recommend FYi to everyone for their eyecare.

Since they joined FYI, it's just not the same.staff are still friendly, but now I always feel rushed. I have been a long time patient and sad that the atmosphere has changed so much.

I booked an appointment to pick up my glasses for 9am on January 14,2020 to pick up my glasses. 9: 35 am I went to the receptionist to book for a later date and she found someone to help me right away. It would have been greatly appreciated if I was given to option to wait or rebook at check in for the appointment at 8: 55 am to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Well now; I have been going to this clinic for many years. All the staff are fantastic. However, I have seen a gradual decline in the actual lenses replacement process. That I would rate as a 2. This last time the replacement bifocal lenses was ordered in August ant here it is mid-October and nothing. I called to inquire and it had disappeared. If after searching, it isn't located; HERE WE GO AGAIN. The lense had to be replaced due to the bi-focal line being angled improperly.

This isn't the first of my experiences; there have been more over the years. They need to change lense making contractors.

I'm sad to say that after settling this mess, I won't be back. It's a shame, as the staff are terrific.

Follow up.

After leaving 2 messages I received a call back about my lense status. It disappeared. They had to reorder. Another long wait blamed upon CV-19. That excuse is wearing thin for me.

I expressed my sincere disappointment and requested a partial refund, due to this incident. They came back with a 25% refund when I pick up the lense.

I'm sorry, but since FYI took over, this place place has slipped.

I won't close off yet, until I receive the lense, it is cut/installed correctly and I get my refund.

Apologies for not posting sooner.

I did get a call to p/u my glasses.
In summary, I extremely well received; as usual. The staff are professional and personable. Everything went A1. Unfortunately, I won't be back. The lab (s) they use are below standard and that's what pills down my rating. 5 stars without the lab. 3 stars with the lab.

I hope others have a much better experience. I sorry to leave.

After dealing with FYI customer service and Callum Gunn, I must say that my review is back to 5 stars. Completing the present process according to Hoyle, will make this a solid 5 stars. I am very pleased with how my experience has been rectified.

Just waiting for my new set of glasses. Dr. Hall Sr.has promised to oversee the lenses and frames, himself. He wants this process to be flawless. Now receiving them will be delayed, as it is the holiday season.

All I can say is, this clinic is top notch. They go beyond the norm to make you happy.

Dr. Hall Sr. Stood on his head to make sure my new glasses were 100%. He even checked my eyes, again, to make sure. He did find some early bad news. I have some fogging behind my left lense and said that if there is a history of cataracts in the close family; I should be prepared for the same.

Well done.

If the lenses supplier follows FYI's instructions, they are #1 in Cambridge.

I highly recommend this optometry office! They have been absolutely amazing at helping me with glasses. After multiple attempts with progressive lenses, they are making sure that I get into the correct lens for my eyes. They have been so great to work with!

Extremely well run clinic, doctors are always able to fit you in, in an emergency. Dr. Hall has been so kind and helpful on all occasions to my husband and me for over 30 years, hope he doesn’t retire soon but we’ll deserves it!

Use to love this place until i had a weird eye pain at work. Was killing me and couldnt get me in for almost 3 weeks! Dr Ted Smith was always amazing to me and i know this wasnt him, however if you cant make 30 minutes for an emergency sooner then 2 weeks, especially when i said i would see whoever. Lost all respect from me. Construction workers skip lunches to meet deadlines and hate what they do. These guys love what they do but would never stay open 15 minutes late or skip a lunch to cure someone with something so simple!
