Galaxy Cinemas Brantford

My daughter and her friends went to celebrate a birthday and they did a decent job. However when it was time to settle the bill a young coworker who had never hosted parties before was left in charge and the prices we were quoted was not what we were charged. We were told for a set price foods were included, tickets were included and the party room. When we received our bill this was not the case we were charged almost 200 dollars over the price quoted as all the food was charged separately as well as some of the tickets. After going in circles for like 20 minutes with this person we finally caved to just be able to leave. We are not the type of people to walk out and not pay. So we paid even though we tried to explain this to the kid in charge. He said this is what he believed was the bill call and speak to the party person tomorrow they can fix it for you if this isn’t it. Well we called over 6 times in a span of two weeks. Never had a phone call returned. Went in she was not available. Was told she was not in or she had the message and would get back to us. We lost out on a huge amount of money because we trusted the wrong person and no one bothered to set it right. Absolutely disappointed and the worst part I would have used them again if it wasn’t for this because the kids had fun. Beware of your bill. They lost a future customer for other parties cause I have more then one kid.

I love movies! This cinema is okay, could it be better yes but if it’s all you have I’d say enjoy:)

Good place to watch cinema. Bus stops are at walking distance and Walmart is adjacent to it, so shopping is made easy. Seats are okay, it is neat and clean. There is facility to book tickets at the kiosk and there are rooms to celebrate birthday of children.

Great service, great movies and great atmosphere. This theatre in particular has always been clean, and the seats are not too uncomfortable; the typical movie theatre chairs. Overall satisfied with every experience thus far and will continue to choose this location for future visits:)

Went last night.staff was great all had smiles and were extremely polite, concession line moved fast.

Use to love this place. Not sure what happened to it. Went to a 1pm show today told hotdogs will not be ready until 2pm, out of large popcorn bags - went with medium instead, topping for popcorn "out of order", self serve pop machines out of the syrup of the pop I selected, no lids for pop, and finally floor in the lobby sticky (probably because no lids for pop). Spoke with three employees and nobody gave a care.future movies may be worth the drive to Ancaster or Cambridge.

This is a great theater for locals who either live in Brantford or very close, this specific cinema could use some TLC but it's overall a very great place for people nearby, I'm giving this three stars because the staff are okay but not the nicest.

Overall this location has pretty good service.
Compared to other locations in the GTA it's visible this location is older and perhaps in need of upgrades as the auditoriums are not as up to date, but the staff does a pretty decent job at keeping things clean.
Popcorn/food kiosk could benefit from more help as they were pretty swamped on a Saturday late afternoon. Some confusion with upgrading popcorn/drinks packages to different candy options as in my previous visit I was allowed to at no charge just not eligible to earn scene points and this time was told that rule changes 3 yrs ago, clearly different people have different understanding of the rules.
The gentleman greeting/completing check in was very friendly and made sure people felt appreciated for coming to the movies! Made up for the confusion from earlier

The staff was nice, the theater was clean and the movie was good but I was disappointed with the food. I went May 7 and it cost me $31 plus tax for two medium popcorn, two medium pops and two bags of candy which I thought was expensive but I was more disappointed with the popcorn itself. The popcorn was pre bagged just sitting in a warmer which made it a little stale and both bags weren't even close to filled. (picture is before we ate any). I don't mind paying that money but I expect to get a little more than I got. Hopefully next time is better!

The screen was an okay size, but the seats were terrible. It felt like the seat was trying to eject me during the whole movie. Not a comfortable experience. Not sure if I can recommend this location.

The manager with the beard and super tall was very polite and nice and welcoming I asked if I could pray in a little corner and he was kind to send me to the best coroner to pray that was such a great experience

Most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat at. I went to watch the new batman with my wife, a 3 hour long movie, we almost walked out because we couldn't take the pain anymore. We will never be going back there.

Staff is nice. Everything was quick when we got in and through the concession. I like the pop machine but have had issues with line ups in the past. Washrooms were clean. Only issue really was the seats have not been updated to the nice ones most cineplex have now. The seats are not the most comfortable for a 3 hour movie

Staff are usually friendly and the manager is always welcoming and accomodating.
Please remember that movie theatre floors are not the place for garbage, and clean up after yourself.
This theater has shown what the definition of 'pivot' means during the pandemic, and streamlined their process

I love cineplex pop machines.the strawberry fanta tastes like jumping into a cold pool.i love everything about this theatre.the chairs are also so comfortable and very reliable for getting giggle bugs

Clean theatre, comfy seats, good food. Check in is quick and easy, especially when you have your tickets on your phone.

I love going to the cinema to catch a show. Have so many fond memories here, from going with my entire family, my dad and brother and more sometimes on a boys night, with my mom as a fun outing, and even with my grandpa and other relatives as an outing to keep in touch and share an experience. This is one of THE places to go for bonding time and something to share in with those you love in our city of Brantford, check it out.:)

Last weekend I went to the brantford galaxy cinema. I went to see a 4pm show. I thought I would show up realy early because of mandatory vaccine it would be realy busy with big line ups before covid was here on Saturdays it would be  full of people. But.it was absolutely dead inside no line ups at all. To work there the employees DO NOT have to have any vaccine. When I was ordering my food I noticed that the worker DID NOT have gloves on and she took my money and after that she handled my food and cup. When I was putting my stuff in a tray I watched her. She DID NOT sanitize her hands and served the next customer samething she handle his cash and food with no gloves. This is so ridiculous.
This is one case why the virus is going around. If you are double vaxed it doesn't mean your money is double vaxed also. It still carries the virus. If you are gonna go with the government mandatory, then you should mandatory your employees to get vaxed also. And have some employees strictly only handling the money and sanitizing after each customer. And the other employees strictly only handling food
While wearing gloves. By doing this it's protecting everyone from becoming severe ilness. But.if you continue like this you are only protecting your customers. NOT your employees. But.my honest opinion the mandatory vaccine should be dropped because NOBODY should be forced into doing something with their bodies that makes them uncomfortable getting done so they can injoy life the same as everyone else. Even double Vax can get and spread virus as much as unvaxed. And by the way things looked on Saturday you are loosing buisness because of the mandatory.

At the end of Eternals, while we were waiting for the post credits scenes, the cleaning crew came in and stood off to the side like they usually do. One of them started loudly talking to everyone in the room, teasing about how he couldn't tell us whether or not there was a second scene; calling the people who lead already left fake fans, etc.
It was inappropriate and irritating.
He would. Not. Stop. Talking!
He was clearly desperate for attention and thought this was a great time for an improv stand-up routine. Someone this uncomfortable with silence should not be working in a movie theater.

Decided to watch the latest Bond movie in Brantford and was my worsed experience. I rather travel to Ancaster even with today's gas prices.
How does a movie theatre run out of large popcorn bags? How do you drink a regular drink with a coffee cup lid?
Staff are rude and unable to answer questions politely and the manager has no consideration to inquire what the problem is, when she clearly knew there was a problem.
If your local patrons take the time and effort under Covid situations to support you, I suggest you make a better effort or close down.

Clean, well staffed and followed all mandated protocol. The popcorn and pop we got were fresh and the entire theatre was really clean. Definitely go if you’re thinking about it.

I wish there was a way to call i left my bag there tonight in the bathroom i do believe and it has all my personal belongings which is making me very stressed and im trying to call just to claim it and i have no way of doing so

We went today as a family and there is something dead in the building. The smell was unreal. Mentioned it to 2 of the staff and both ladies ignored us and walked right by us. For what we now have to spend to enjoy a movie we don't want to have to endure a smell like that.

Cineplex app doesn’t work and when we got to the theatre, all but one of their self checks was working and even that one was glitchy…service is super slow here

I like dags so I went to see Paw Patrol, I give it 2 paws up. Ryder and chase gave good performances and kept the canine crew in check.

This was my first visit to a theatre in Brantford, and my first visit since Covid started. The kids loved the movie, but I was not at all impressed with Galaxy Cinemas. The Cineplex website promises a great experience with safety in mind, but we ended up being crowded in a nearly empty theatre with other guests seated near us.
The concession prices are completely out of hand now. The staff are basically non-existent, nobody even checking tickets on a Saturday afternoon.
I'd say it's worth the drive to Hamilton to SilverCity for the seats and screens alone. Probably will not return to this location.

Clean theatre. My kids always love coming here for the comfy chairs.

We normally go to Ancaster for IMAX, but our most recent visit here was a below average experience. Concession foods were not fresh (despite the cost), someone (kids being "funny", I assume) had plugged all the stalls in the men's bathroom with paper towels and locked them from the outside. My wife also reported that the Women's bathroom was not very clean either. I'm not sure how staff missed both of these things during the regular cleaning that takes place.

Seats were comfortable as far as movie theatre's go. Staff was friendly and helpful.

LOVE IT, im from the city but meet my friend half way for movies which is brantford love it. It is so clean and also fast. Although the theaters r smaller theres not as maby people. Good parkint lot as well

Very clean well maintained, quite pricey for just being a movie with popcorn. Can easily add up to 70$ for 2 or 3 people total. But all in all. It's a movie theater

Polite customer service. INSANELY expensive food pricing.but the place is kept clean.with comfy seating, and decent quality audio and video playback.

Staff are lazy, incompetent and rude. Premises are always filthy. I'd rather drive to Cambridge cinemas before going here.

Good local theatre. Not very busy during the week compared to other cities which I quite like. They keep the place clean too.

Don’t get me wrong, this place is clean, affordable & offers a great food selection. However, in comparison to other theatres under the “Cineplex” Brand, it doesn’t hold up.

CONS:
• Chairs are a baseball stadium style chair
• Chairs sometimes smell like sweat and feel gross
• No leg space at all, can’t lean back & it’s always an awkward fight with the guy beside you for the arm rest or cup holder.
•Only two rows of reserved seating, leaving the rest as first come, first serve
• It gets extremely hot in there and the smell of body oder quickly fills the theatre

It is recommended that Brantford’s cineplex invest into better chairs such as the leather recliner chairs at Ancaster’s & London’s Silver City. This would lead to an overall better viewing experience.

I would recommend this location to a family member or friend.

Great theater. Clean, big. Go early as on a Saturday they only had 3 lines open for popcorn and it took almost 15 minutes. Give yourself lots of time and buy your tickets online and you're good.

They're very understanding here I have a gluten allergy and they let me bring in allergy sensitive Foods

This cinema has to be one of the worst places to watch a movie. I went to see Captain Marvel and upon entering the theater the first thing to hit me was the smell. It was like the worst body odor mixed with rank foot smell and a hint of sex puke smell. If that wasn't bad enough after actually getting into the theater to find my seat it looked like the theater had not been cleaned in days, there were wrappers, popcorn bags, cups, and empty food containers everywhere. The seating was also very cramped and very uncomfortable. I will never go back to this theater ever again and I would recommend boycotting this place.

The staff are friendly and very helpful. Theatre and bathrooms are spotless. A trifle expensive for drinks and popcorn.

Seeing as this is the only theater in brantford it is good.be better if more people worked on new release movies.the lineups are out the door.but it is clean

Fun experience. Fairly standard for what you would expect from a decent cinema, plenty of parking, easy to find.

Friendly staff doing their best during the rushes. Clean theaters, quick service, good corn. The pop machines will run out of syrup on a regular basis though

A movie theatre like every other movie theatre. They got rid of staff at the ticket counter and have gone fully digital. No one to talk to if you have any queries.

This theater has to have been the worst movie going experience I have ever had. Upon entering our theater to watch Captain Marvel the stench of body odor and stank feet with a hint of dirty sex and puke filled our noses. As we made our way to our seats it looked like the theater hadn't been cleaned in days. The seating was very cramped and the heat had been turned up to "Welcome to Hell". Not 30 minutes into the movie my wife became I'll from the heat and the stench. If you want to watch a movie at the theater then whatever you do, don't go to this theater.

On a great customer service note: my daughter left her tiara there after a movie. I called and they didn't find it however they told me that cleaning staff perhaps could do a more thorough search when cleaning. And they found it! Excellent customer service. They followed up with me promptly and said what they were going to do and did it.

Looking forward to our next visit!

Super clean as far as movie theaters go, always has the most popular movies so you don't have to drive out of town, theaters are generally not full unless you go on the first night, small arcade in the lobby in case you need to kill time while wait for a movie, rooms for birthday parties ect and lots of stores nearby if you're interested in saving a few bucks and sneaking food in
