Galen Eye Centre

If you are looking for care and compassion this is the place to go. I found all staff to be very kind and respectful. The doctors were very caring and listened to my concerns. Very good with our children. All around great service.

I have been bringing both of my sons to see Dr. Brar (optometrist) since they were a year old. He does very thorough annual checkups, answers all of my questions, and most importantly my boys really like him and are comfortable with him. Dr. Brar has even seen them for emergency appointments where he was quick to prescribe drops and get their eyes feeling better again.

My mom has been a patient of Dr. Jinapriya and Dr. Rao for over ten years and has always received exceptional care in a timely manner. My step Dad who has Alzheimer’s has recently had carat surgery with Dr. Jinapriya and has received care with incredible compassion and understanding. It’s very clear that they put their patients well-being first at all times.

Very thorough and professional exams. I've had glaucoma surgery and both cataracts done. Very pleased with the results. The Dr's are very gentle.

I am an employee at Galen, but I also take my children here. As a parent, I have taken my children to a few different Optometrist but never felt that they took the time. It was more of a rush to get threw the appointment and on to the next. I feel like Dr. Brar cares about what my kids see.
As an employee here, I have honestly never worked for a more caring employer. It is reflected by who Dr. Jinapriya surrounds himself with. Fellows come here because they want to be in the presents of two wonderful surgeons, Dr. Jinapriya and Dr. Singh. The other Ophthalmologist at Galen are just as lovely - Dr. Rao, Dr. Wood, and Dr. Gupta. Their knowledge in their particular field of Ophthalmology is unmatched.
The first time I walked into this clinic, I was honestly astonished. It felt so different in all the right ways. It was very surprising.
My coworkers are funny, smart, and caring. This is reflected every day with the interaction with our patients. I work with people that make me smile every day. They genuinely care about me and my family. That nowadays is a rarity.
I am very blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of Galen.

Administrative staff were professional, efficient and very friendly. They got me checked in quickly and before I knew it I was taken in for my tests. Galen Eye Centre is a well oiled machine. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
As for parking, I was able to easily find a spot across the street at Food Basics.

Friendly and efficient staff, was in and out in a timely fashion. Overall positive experience.

I've always received excellent care from Galen Eye Centre. Dr. Singh did a great job on my cataracts, and any time I've had a minor eye issue, I've been able to get an appointment. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

Be prepared to be kept waiting - they overbook always. NEVER on time - my husband is 40 minutes past appointment time, and still waiting. What is the point of an appointment?

It was my first time coming here for an eye exam. The front desk staff were kind and very helpful. The optometrist I saw was professional and kind. I will be coming here for future eye exams.

Greatly impressed with the Galen Eye Centre and especially its staff. No one is really wanting to have laser surgery on their eyes and this can be quite stressful, but the staff are extremely reassuring in the what the say to you and especially their calming tone of voice. The facility would not be as professional as it is without the people who make it a confident experience.

My wife received a call for an appointment she booked, the problem is she never booked an appointment but they tell you 48 hour notice to cancel but call after hours with less then 48 hours and you have no way to leave a message to cancel. Are they scamming OHIP/patients? They did this once on a Sunday and the other was July 3 2023 but office was closed for holiday.

The service there is great. They have the latest technology and we'll trained eye technicians and doctors. Very little waiting time. They are very efficient.

The blind leading the blind. I was referred to the Galen Eye Centre in 2020 for ongoing ophthalmic care. I have found this clinic to be disorganized and unreliable. In the three years or so I have been with this clinic I have seen the ophthalmologist only for a surgical procedure and a post surgery appointment. In the past year I have attended at the clinic for testing to find that my appointment was canceled without notice to me. More recently the ophthalmologist has been a no-show on three consecutive telephone appointments. This coming from a clinic that threatens to bill you personally for missed appointments or cancelling without 48 hours notice. This place maybe satisfactory for a one-off appointment or procedure, but definitely not so for ongoing care.

This posting is about Dr. Delan Jinapriya.
Dr Jinapriya is not just a very unique and excellent doctor, but very professional with a highly expertize doubled by kindness, patience and unique approach to each patient.  He is highly proffesional with the special talent of knowing each person and approaching him accordingly.  I'm very thankful & uncounted times grateful for the chance I had to be his patient, for the special attention I received during the Laser Procedure & the great results.  Thank You so much to Galen Eye Clinic, the Team of the day of the Laser procedure & especially to Dr. Jinapriya, for the way he took care of me and for the way he managed to relax me. Don't waste your time here, they don't respect people's time and have to wait between 2-6 hrs to see the doctor. Seats are very uncomfortable with a wood board. My mother is 92 and she should not have to wait that long. Parking is extremely limited.

A disorganized place. Overbooking and long waits. Feels like an assembly line. If you want personal care or information about your eye health this place is not for you. At 2: 30pm still waiting for a surgery that was suppose to be at 1pm.
