GameBreakers Sports Cards

This is a very good Local Gaming Store.

It is shared between a TCG vendor and sports card vendor. As such, the store lacks product lines that would be expected in a generic LGS, especially in the board game / accessories category.

Staff is friendly and helpful. It is weird and a bit awkward though that the owner of the store sits in the corner seemingly doing nothing other than spying on his employees and the store going-ons while pretending to do stuff online; but whatever, it doesn't really affect me.

The store is spacious, and hosts event nights regularly. Event nights are mostly only TCG related, but they draw a decent crowd and everyone has fun!

Their Binder POs system is managed well, and communications with the store have been efficient.

While they accept fewer card submissions / only higher dollar value cards, they always seem to have stock when I want to buy something, and most importantly, the prices are right in line with market, and sometimes even better.

This is a great place to deal TCG.

Went to store to purchase nearly $200 worth of Pokemon Singles. Their website doesnt give option to pay in store. Asked the kid sitting behind the desk if i can see the singles and he goes to tell me they are on the website. I told him you guys dont offer pay at store and i wanted to pay cash. The kid was dumbfounded had no idea what to do and tells me to talk to his Manager. Like are you serious im a paying customer and you wont let me go threw the cards i wanted to purchase. WELL last time im shopping at this place.

Mike is very knowledgeable about hockey cards. Gives fair prices and has a pretty decent selection. I recommend it highly for Tim Horton hockey cards.

The staff and store are fantastic. My kids participate in a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament weekly (they are 10 and 13) and they are made to feel comfortable and welcome with the other players who are 2x their age. It's a great way to get kids into a strategy game and off their devices and computers. Thank you for being a welcoming and fantastic place for players. The player fee is reasonable and they learn new skills each time.

Excellent Local Card Shop! James is the go to guy for all things Pokemon! The staff here is always helpful, informative and friendly. Highly recommend shopping here. Plenty of Gaming and Sports cards for everyone.

My boyfriend and I came here for Pokémon cards and the staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable! We never once felt rushed even with multiple people coming in and out of the store.

I placed an online order, which was fantastically easy, and it was ready the very next day. It was an order containing 50+ single pokemon cards, so I'm shocked at their speed.

It was my first time in the store, it was clean and inviting. The staff were jovial, and extremely welcoming and friendly. They had many tables set up to play games, and they had many fancy rare cards on display.

Overall a great experience!

The new store is great and spacious, airy and well organized. The staff are all super friendly, patient and knowledgable, with a good sense of humour. We used to hesitate bringing our younger son into these stores, but at GameBreakers he was warmly welcomed. They were quick to notice his Pokemon obsession and made him feel right at home. Thanks guys!

The store and it's selection are ok. 1 star because the guy behind the counter treated us as an inconvenience.

I should have posted this the first day I walked in here but I’m late. This place is absolutely amazing and more welcoming than any game shop I’ve been into before. James and Dan have been patient and absolutely incredible any time I have ever stepped foot into this place. Even when the tornado hit they did everything in their power to still serve and help everyone get that hobby need/want. I’ve gone into places before and have felt like I am “bothering” staff but here is completely different. I would give 10 stars if I had the option tbh.

Best card shop with the best employees and owners in Ottawa for sure. Slabs, singles, sets, wax and more.

Asked if they have certain products in stock, they said they did without checking. Spent an hour and half bussing there for nothing.

Cool staff, very informative and fair on the items I brought it. Gave me some epic stickers and posters too!

Went here for the first time yesterday not sure what to expect. I would like to personally say thanks to James (staff member) who was incredibly helpful, polite, patient, and welcoming. He happily tracked down some outdated singles for me, and was just a perfect example of stellar customer service. Will be coming back, and highly recommend.
PS: The store itself is very clean and well organized!

We can into Game Breakers for the first time today and I have to say we had an amazing experience. My 11 year old wanted start his own Hockey Card collection and the guys at Game Breakers not only gave him all the info he needed but gave him an amazing welcome into the card collecting world! I want to post a big thanks to the Game Breakers guys and encourage any new card collectors to check this place out.

Was in the mood to check out a few card shops and discovered this beautiful Gem! The sign is a bit confusing as they recently moved.

Came here for some cards and boy oh boy did I leave here with so much knowledge!

Ask for Mike! He's an awesome man honest and caring. He was patient and took so much of his time to explain things and how to spot good cards. He showed me a few tricks on how to analyze cards.

Price is fairly reasonable and is aligned with ebay pricing. I love how you don't need to pay for shipping! Halleeeelujahhhhh

This shop has lots of Hockey /Baseball/basketball and yugioh cards. There was people playing yugioh in the place as well.

It was an awesome discovery and I definitely recommend this place whole heartedly! I will definitely be back here when Im back in town

Very knowledgeable staff and patient with our kids as they select their hockey cards. A positive experience that our kids look forward to each and every time!

Knowledgeable and personable staff with a very welcoming community of mtg players. The owners are absolute gems who take time to get to know their clients. No surprise for a business thats been open for decades. Fantastic stock of singles for mtg and sports cards. While the drafters here are very talented and play competitively, they are approachable and willing to teach newer drafters how to improve. Commander games broke out in between rounds and i was welcomed in immediately. Highly recommend breakers if you are new or a seasoned vet of the mtg scene.

These guys are second to none, class acts. They were very kind to a ‘newbie’ (getting back into it after many years), and with such patience answered all questions and dispelled my apprehension about being nervous with my seemingly silly questions. I went in nervous and excited, and came out even more excited as these guys’ just made a loyal returning customer in me. So much better than a big box store and with many shop competitors in the city, their service, support and willingness to go over and above for a few packs of cards and a long conversation makes this place a shop to check in with. Well done gents.

Gamebreakers is an amazing place i have been frequenting the establishment since i was 18 years old i am now going on 30 the owner is ALWAYS respectful i highly recommend gamerbreakers sports cards

It would be nice if i could see the prices, on the packs and the boxes as it just wouldn't be practical to ask the same question 20 times, please do yourself and the customer a favor and put some visible prices.

Called I had furniture game-breakers had the cards I was looking for. They did not but we're able to acquire them in two days then gave me a call when they had them. Reasonable prices excellent service

I went there to buy yugioh singles. They have a excellent selection of yugioh, magic, vanguard, etc. The staff was helpful and attentive. They also have a broad variety of Basketball and Hockey cards.

Good stock of magic singles, well run and attended events. They have a dedicated and knowledgeable crew that run the place.

I buy things for my baseball collection here. Wide variety of baseball and hockey cards to buy and trade. They also have card games like yu-gi-oh and have tables for live games with your friends which is pretty awesome.

Love dropping by on my way home from work to check out their Magic and hockey cards. Selection is always outstanding and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There is no other store in Ottawa that offers such a perfect fusion of sports and collectible cards. In short, these guys are great!

Came in with 393 hockey cards buddy doesnt even take a good look he just skims through and tells me no value at all 1990-1999 rookies and tops sold it to make quick cash for 30$ pearson contacts me back letting me know i have a couple cards worth 75$ and a few here and there I'm just insulted cause it took him about 40 secounds and said theres no value and sent me on my way where as someone else is making profit from a childhood memory that Ive had since I was 7 hoping it would be worth something later and then losing it all cause buddy didnt try. Harsh.

I have come here for the MTG Core Set 2019 Prerelease and I was not disappointed. They have a wide selection of sports cards, Yugioh cards, and (which I prefer the most) Magic: The Gathering cards. The staff is rather attentive, although it was sort of hard for the cashier to stay in the same place on Prerelease day. They have little seating in the back, but they rented out a large area in a building right next to it. The prices are great. They sell Ultra Pro deck boxes for $2, when they are usually at least $3 and they give you a decent price (not market value, but what card store even does that?) if you happen to be selling cards. I will definitely come here for future Prerelease or just for a quick shopping trip if I'm in the area.
