Gamerama and The Repair Store

Fantastic repair service for an unbeatable price. My xbox series X HDMI port came lose and these guys fixed it and had it back to me in 2 days. Even better they delivered my device to my home because I didn't have time to come pick it up in person. Can't recommend them enough.

I called Gamerama today about console repairs and the guy I talked with spoke as if he didn’t want to answer my call at all and said rashly that there were no parts for my console. I never had anybody raise their tone at me over the phone when asking a simple question.

So the disk drive on my PS5 crapped out and I had no idea where to get it fixed.
I'm glad I picked this place. So I was properly served by Brian and his big pups.
He answered all my questions and was very accommodating. Alex is very knowledgeable and completely explained what the problem was and how he fixed it.
Speaking with Will was also a learning experience as we both talked shop for a bit. Great pricing and friendly reliable service. Also want to say the store itself takes me back to when I was younger with new and old memorabilia not to mention the games and system selection.
I highly recommend for your repair or gaming needs.

Don't come here! My console broke down so I called in thinking I could get my console fixed. I was initially quoted a price, and that they would call me back and inform me on any status change to my repair (that never happened). Instead, they kept my console ransom, told me that they were not getting paid to work on it, so the repair was on their spare time. When I had enough of their lies, I asked for my console back, the clerk started singing on the phone in a childish manner. Simple put: save yourself time and abuse, look elsewhere!

There were 2 giant dogs there when I visited the store. That's 2 thumbs up for me any day. I also got good service and had a pleasant conversation with the staff.

Small stores like this are rarer and rarer these days, when you see them in your neighborhood we should do our best to support them.

The place is a bit retro and kind of a museum with all sorts of gaming equipment and gadgetry of past and present lying around. Alex is extremely skilled in all technical matters and has spent years learning his craft. Highly recommend this place for all technical issues related to phones, computers and gaming.

This Blackberry keyone owner was especially grateful for the treatment she received. Had a new battery I brought to replace the old one that died- the new one was faulty and crashed about three weeks later. Went in and had a new one installed in about fifteen minutes. There was no charge the second time. How good is that?

All in all, a very enjoyable experience with Alex and Brian and of course, the two dogs who enjoy meeting and greeting customers when they are not sleeping comfortably on the floor. Definitely a five star place for me.

Exceptional helpful and friendly service for phone repair and other phone issues from Alex and Brian. They found a replacement screen which other repair shops could not. I will be back there should I need any more computer or phone repairs.

I was so happy treat this location had the games I needed for my Nintendo game boy. I purchased 8 games for 30$ so the price was amazing with extremely friendly service and great hours. They have a large variety of games and services. Highly recommended.

I had my ps4 and ps5 cleaned at the repar store my units were making jet engine noises, they cleaned them up now they purr like a kitten. Best playtation 4 or 5 repair store in toronto

Absolute fraud, do not follow apple sealing and water protection processes! I and others have taken a total of 3 devices in 2 years to this place (after being reco by friends) all “repaired” phones have the exact same fatal issue which is the seals for water protection are not properly installed or installed at all, which causes the device to break from water damage either from inevitable humidity or splashes of water after washing your hands. DO NOT GO HERE TO FIX. The 3 phones “fixed” all had to be replaced within months (the 3rd one only lasting 1 week before the inevitable water damage) I really hope no one else gives them more money to fix their phones since they will be buying a new phone in no time!

Had my iPhone and iPad repaired very good fast and reliable service, they also repaired my PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well as my Nintendo switch

Dropped off 3 different Microsoft Surface Pro 4's with motherboard problem's on different occasions. Each time, I was fully ready for them to be returned as unfixable but every single time, especially the last repair, I've been pleasantly surprised. They were able to repair the motherboard. They had either charging battery issues, display issues or not even booting up but they were all repaired surprisingly quick. I would fully recommend them and they charged reasonably well for the repair.

First off, great customer service! With vast knowledge on all systems, games and software! Roomy enough to comfortably shop while safely social distancing. Huge massssive selection of games and systems. Knowledge on software tech support along with physical repairs. Pre ordered forspoken and another game and going to drop off a Xbox for repairs. Totally recommend for gamers near and far!

I’ve been going here since I was a kid and just realized I never left a review! Great service from a small hardworking team. They always have an interesting selection of used machines and games, and I have a treasured collection of things I’ve gotten here even since my childhood. I wanted to leave pictures of this beloved holy grail Zelda 3DS, which they sold me and also repaired in record time when it needed a wire fixed. I think it used to belong to one of the employees, so if you’re reading this, your 3DS has been used every day and it’s still running like new! Bonus points: try the sweet treats at the front of the shop while you wait.

Broke my iPhone 8 home button and brought it in to Alex for repairs. He let me know the Touch ID function would be lost and he fixed it same day at a very reasonable price. Fast forward a few days later and I drop my phone and crack the touchscreen. Mind you, this is on a Friday afternoon. Alex again fixed it same day, very reasonably priced, and made sure I was good to go for the weekend! Reading most of the other positive reviews I could tell my experience was not the exception. Highly recommend Gamerama and The Repair Store for all your cellphone/laptop/gaming console repairs as well as new/used video games and video game consoles!

Alex, who fixes the phones and I believe is the owner, as well, is a really good guy. Honourable. He fixed 3 Blackberry phones for me.

When I visited this store to buy a game, the owner was friendly and we had a great chat.

Unfortunately, I later discovered that they had charged me twice as much as the game is worth. Not only that, but when I got home, I realized that the owner had written a different game on my receipt. So, even if I wanted to return this game, I would be unable to because the name on the receipt does not match the name of the game that they sold me. 

Needless to say, these are some pretty sketchy business practices.

I love supporting local businesses, but I draw the line when it comes to customer deception and unfair pricing. 

I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this store.

Better to visit some of the other used game stores in the city.

Excellent service. I took my son's PS4 for repair because the console was making a lot of noise, it ran slow and it restarted automatically. In less than 24 hours they turbo cleaned the fan and replaced the hard drive. The price was VERY competitive and affordable. They made my son very happy, thanks for the good work.

I purchased a call phone and was not happy with the camera. The pictures were not good quality and it took reverse photos which I could not change. It was exchanged for another phone. I was assured the pictures were better quality. The pictures are worse quality than previous phone and I am unable to open attachments in text messages. My phone is currently stuck in voice activation and will not turn off. The computer tech Brian has excellent customer service even though the product is faulty, however the owner does not. I have never written a review before until now. I do not want others to experience what I have.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the expert, fast and reasonable service provided. I had 3 BlackBerry phones that needed repair. The water damaged phone I dropped into the lake was fully repaired. The one I bent was repaired on the spot in matter of minutes. Good people.

My switch went from being able to power on but not display on the TV, to not being able to power on at all for 120 dollars. I was not offered refund, they did not contact me to let me know that this happened either.

They fixed my Xbox for a reasonable price. Nice employees and a nice dog was there that day too!

Good repair shop with fair prices. Should be ones first stop when needing a repair on a game console before hiring some private individual who may charge double or even triple the actual cost.

So many gems! Dope service and awesome staff:) fixed a ps3 there years back at the old location and took my friend there to fix a switch at the new location and they are still awesome! Keep it up guys. I just wish that Sega game gear was on sale:)

A few months ago, I changed my iPhone 5 screen, the new one had a defective pixel on it (green dot). It was really small and when I took the phone back they changed it again.but I have a feeling the technician knew about this and was just hoping I wouldn't realize they gave me a broken Screen, or maybe it really was an "honest mistake". I prefer to think it was the former

We bought a hard drive from Canada computers with a 3 year warranty to replace on the PS4 that’s a good price as if it breaks down its only 40 bucks to install. The hard drive cost 69 dollars and 12 dollars for the warranty it’s pretty worth it. A year ago we went to a place where the guy works from his home and it cost us 340 dollars and within a year it stopped working and he also replaced the hard drive and cleaned it. The system didn’t sound as it sounds now with Gamerama! Good Job

We cannot recommend Gamerama and The Repair Store highly enough. Brian, the person we dealt with there, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We weren't the only customers who were feeling great appreciation for his problem-solving - everyone who came in during the time we were there was thanking him and saying they thought his work was excellent and saying, "You're amazing! " We think Brian is amazing too.

A hidden gem in midtown is one of very few remaining places in the city with retro games. The staff is very friendly and helped me every step of the way to find exactly what I was looking for.

I’ve been going to this place for over two decades now, they have never disappointed me or let me down. They have very friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great selection of videos games / consoles. Lots of cool vintage / retro games. Great place to trade in games, they will give you a fair price, they also provide amazing and timely repair services for various electronic devices, tablets, smartphones, consoles etc. Would highly recommend Gamerama to all my family and friends.

This is a place where you can get a cell phone fixed, no matter what your kid has done to it. While waiting, you can browse vintage video games (or new ones). Great repairs and very reasonably priced.

Whent in to get my ps4 fixed. Unfortunately its unfixable. The staff were straight up and honest. Explained why it's not fixable. Great atmosphere and lots of games

Cracked Screen? You might spend 15-20 minutes; but worth the wait. I had them change my screen twice with couple of other issues in the motherboard. These guys do a splendid job and are way cheaper than what usual repair shops quote. Save money and get the quality both at the same time.

I had an issue with my xbox where it would turn off after I turned it on. The technician told me my xbox was fried and that its garbage now, no way of fixing it. I took it home and opened it up myself to clean the dust and now my xbox is working fine. I didnt appreciate the tech not taking a closer look and not being able to properly diagnose the problem. I almost threw out my xbox!

Store is amazing but the website has nothing about used games and consoles. Only information on the different types of repairs they offer.

A ton of games. Met the owner, I believe his name was Will. Seemed to know his stuff. He was honest with some games and would recommend alternatives, to games that I would enjoy. He wasnt wrong. Plus, the games were fairly priced. Would come back, for sure.

I went in July 21st to get my power button fixed by Alex, he took it & told me come back in 1hr or so. I came back and had my phone returned back up and running. So on return of my property I realized he left something in my phone that messed with the focus. To my shock the camera was out of focus again. So I went back to the store about 10mins after leaving, to rectify the situation since it wasn’t fixed to a functional matter, I showed Alex my camera and addressed the issue which he was apologetic about it. He informed me that some type of the blue liquid that he used to fix the power button got on the camera. He promised to get it replaced free of cost, for it was his fault of the issue. I was annoyed that this has happened twice now but this time around he broke my camera. He told me to come back next week, I wasn't able to make it back that week but I came back the following week expecting him to have my phone fixed but no all I got was excuses that it didn't come in as yet. So Alex told me to return the following week for the piece to arrive. I returned the following week and got the same excuse to make matters worst, his unprofessionalism how he spoke to me and gave me a number to call as If I’m supposed to solve the issue he caused. So I tried to be understanding by taking the number and trying to find out what’s going with my piece, to my surprised wrong number. So a month passed and still no communication from Alex. He could of informed me of the piece for my phone isn’t attainable and give me a refund but nothing till this day.
Please be cautious when giving your phone to Alex at Gamerama.
Side Note: He refused to give me warranty on camera smh lol

Personal experience from this scam repair facility.

Went in a few years ago to get my note 5 silver screen replaced. The gentleman behind the counter said it will be a $250 fix and it'll be done by around 6pm or so. Came back at 6 only for it not to be done so I waited for a bit and when it was fixed it the blue screen in the front now. Not the original colour of the phone even when I clarified before I dropped my phone off that they did had the silver screen for my note 5. After a while I just figured. This is fine

And then I noticed how poor of a job the technician did installing the screen. There was plastic sticking out of the sides of the screen and the vibration on my phone has become super weak.

Fast forward to paying. They ended up billing me for $320 or so. When I told them the gentleman this morning said it was $250. Two of the workers looked at each other and shrugged. If I didn't have to be somewhere in a hurry I would have complained because seriously that was just scamming me for my business.

So I just paid the damn thing and left and never even thought about coming back to this repair shop ever.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Was able to fix my problem in under an hour. Did hard drive replace and cleaned the internals.

Phenomenal service, fair pricing and honest people! What more can one ask for!

Went to repair several devices over the years. Fairly responsive, not always as fast as they suggest but still well worth the trip. Also enjoyed the ice cream and selection of used games. Friendly staff. It's a neat experience if you have to repair your child's ipad, cell phone or tablet. Some ice cream and video games make the wait a little more tolerable. I would recommend them for repairs.

Fixed my PS3 quickly and they give a 90 day warranty on top of it. Great price too and fast service.

Only had a quick glance at their games section but they have a lot of great stuff and very fairly priced too. Have already recommended to others and happy to do so here as well
