My husband and I shop there often usually GREAT service but not this time. We try to return 2 pairs of socks.the cashier because we had used a status card, was not sure how to do the returned her name is Maddie, she asked her senior staff member to help his name is Pasa. I have had bad experiences with him in the past. While he works he will look at the line up the cashier has it was a long line but stand there looking awkward and not doing anything. Once it was my turn at the cash, then he decides to help the last person in line behind me but yesterday when he was asked to help with the return for my socks.

He said nothing to me, does not talk or eleven look at me, he is trying to do this return but has no idea what he is doing, suddenly he leaves the cash, grabs the phone and is talking to the other worker who took over his tasks about what I don't know and suddenly he is on the phone. Now that is piss poor customer service skills. Like care to let me know what's going on, not just leave me standing there, in the dark. You need to communicate with the customer not treat us like a number. I ended up leaving our of frustration cause I don't find he has any customers service skills at all. I have been in the store many times will he is there and all have been negatively impacted by him

The staff in general is really bad. Between staff members following you around the store to tell you about promotional offers, some creepy guy standing at the door (not greeting customers just watching them), and rude employees at check out. I hate shopping here and often times find myself leaving the store without buying anything because I feel uncomfortable.

This is a GAMESTOP store. Terrible experience. On Dec. 27th, I went in to exchange Zelda's Breath of the Wild (Christmas gift) for Link's Awakening. They gave me a new/sealed English-Spanish version saying they weren't really allowed to (they used the word illegal) and gave me a discount. Strange, I thought. The game was new/sealed but had a "recycled" sticker on it. The exchange receipt showed Breath of the Wild as both the returned item AND the exchange item which I only noticed the next day. I spoke to Nintendo later (because the store mentioned them as part of their reasoning) who said they had no idea why Gamestop would say they weren't allowed to sell the Spanish version new as they have no restrictions regarding retailers. Long story shorter, in order to get a receipt for Link's Awakening which I would obviously need if the game turned out to be defective, it took me 2 weeks after going back to the store to request a corrected receipt, then emailing/speaking with Gamestop in Kingston, and speaking to the Regional manager twice. Everyone agreed that this situation was handled very badly. Finally, after the Kingston office said someone would call me quickly, which they didn't, to "pick up" the corrected receipt at the store, I took a chance and dropped in again Jan. 11th. A person I dealt with previously seemed confused but the manager (I think) readily gave permission to process a corrected receipt, something I asked for 2 weeks earlier. But guess what? They STILL refuse to acknowledge that they sold me a new game because the "corrected" receipt inaccurately (because they scanned the "recycle" sticker) showed that I received a PLAYD game. Was this deliberate? I don't know. I do not trust this store now. I bought a Nintendo Switch there last year but from now on, future games for it will be purchased elsewhere that is not a Gamestop store.

Many thanks to William at the Rideau location. A very enthusiastic & knowledgeable individual! Giving him this review, because as he was helping me with my 200$ purchase his boss approached him and said "get back to your customer. "

If she had been paying attention I was greeted & helped by William all the way through my visit. I was his customer!

Keep up the great work William! My son loves the gifts.

The staff here is really nice, I've always had fun conversations with them while checking out. The selection is pretty great (obviously it's mostly collectibles, toys, and other geeky stuff, but there's some stuff there I've never found anywhere else). Also I wanted to say if anyone ever feels like giving a low rating because they were insulted that the staff tends to follow/hover around you a lot, please remember this is a store that is directly beside the door onto Rideau Street, and I can't imagine the amount of shoplifting and hassles they deal with, so please don't take it personally. Keep up the good work everyone!

My friend found what she was looking for. I didn't buy anything but there seems to be a lot of cool merch and random branded products. They also have next gen consoles for sale so that's cool. Staff was friendly, store was clean. Not much else to say about it.
