The whole company is super sketchy. They are taking advantage of desperate students looking for experience. They just want free labor and will do anything to get it. Don't sell your soul and find something that actually pays. Their practices are extremely unethical. Not to mention that all the 5 star reviews are essentially fake. The HR interns are forced to write positive reviews. What a joke.

I am a new HR Assistant Intern at GAOTek. I started my internship on 6th July. Its been a month that I have been a part of this wonderful team. My teammates are very helpful and encouraging. I'm working as an HR Assistant Intern. Within the span of 3 months, and the minimum requirement of 3-4hrs per day, this internship is a good opportunity to learn basic skills and entry-level experience in the HR field, regarding all aspects from recruiting, interviewing, to onboarding new interns. I was an HR intern during the summer. Although it was unpaid, the internship taught me a lot about the basics of HR (e.g. Recruiting, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding). After just completing my first year at university, I felt that the internship allowed me to apply what I learned in school to a real-world setting. This company is a SCAM. Waste of my complete time. This entire company practically consists of interns who work for free (I never did meet a full time employee there)
They make the interns hire other interns. You will not gain any valuable knowledge or experience from this company. All the positive reviews were written by the hr interns because they were told to do so.

They hardly give you any work but are expected to turn in a daily report of what you’ve done

I have mixed opinions on my GAO Tek internship. I was an HR intern for 6 months and rose to the role of Regional Team Lead. Don’t know what that means? Yeah, neither do I, really. I led a team ranging from 17-24 interns, supervising them, delegating tasks, and on my own I continued the normal HR Assistant tasks.

On the one hand, I definitely gained valuable experience here. I actually did learn about the recruiting process, I learned how to screen applicants and how to interview people, and I certainly improved my communication and leadership skills. The role isn’t too demanding, but it does teach you (at least in HR, I can’t speak to the other positions).

On the other hand, what in the world is this internship? Until about a week ago, I wasn’t convinced the entire company wasn’t just a giant scam. They have hundreds or THOUSANDS of interns at a time, and each intern only works for 3-6 months. When I searched the company online, everything seemed catered by the company, making me feel like I wasn’t getting accurate information. There is also very little to no transparency about the internal structure of the company; I didn’t realize almost everyone was an intern until MY supervisor - and I am a supervisor to other supervisors myself - mentioned she was also an intern. When I tried to contact management about this, they would read my messages and not respond. I also tried to inquire about a company sexual harassment policy, since they didn’t (and still may not) have one, and was just continuously told they were working on it. I only finally got through to one member of management when another, much more involved member organized a meeting with my supervisors and myself to ask us about our experiences and alerted the former member, and then still when she answered she was rude and dismissive of my questions. She did assure me the internship program is not a scam and is just a mutually beneficial arrangement - they get free labor from qualified interns and we get another check on our resumes - but who knows.

Overall, I might actually recommend this internship. Again, you do learn valuable skills and it’s easy work in exchange for a decent position on your resume. Almost all of the people I worked with as well were very responsible and personable. But don’t expect management to care very much or give you answers. This is a job you DO for a few months, hopefully well and you move up the food chain, and then you leave and forget it happened except for being able to tell people “I think I worked in a pyramid scheme but I didn’t even get paid. ”

Edit: I just received my certificates for successful completion of the internship, and they put the least amount of effort possible into these things. Default font, barely any info, no last names of the supervisors listed, and the date says "10st July. "

Currently working here as an HR assistant and my experience has been great. All of my supervisors and colleagues have been extremely approachable and friendly. I'm also able to gain valuable work experience that would be beneficial for my future careers.

Spending my summer completing an online internship was, without a doubt, the finest decision I could have done. Worst interview experience ever! I had an interview with a lady in hr department couple days ago. She only asks questions by list, like ONE BY ONE! Even your answers covered the following questions, she just need to ask anyway, and u have to repeat your answer again! LIKE a robot, no feeling, no feedback, just read question one by one! Everything run by interns.seriously worst experience ever.

I am currently an HR intern at GAO Tek and worked for 2 months so far. The flexible online nature of this role is one of the best perks of this internship, which allows me to work on my own time. As far as management goes, my coworker and supervisor were helpful in guiding me through the internship process. Interviewed for the Technical Writing Internship via Skype. Was given lengthy questionnaires to complete. The "HR" Rep.said that someone would follow-up with me, the following week, to no avail. I was rudely awakened to discover the position was still open ONLY by way of Indeed! If the company had the energy to ask all the questions, it would've been equally appropriate for them to send correspondence indicating they had moved on in the hiring process. To confirm matters unprofessional, I emailed the lady who interviewed me and she avoided responding. Not so much as a thank you for your time & application.

I'd caution anyone to take Gao Tek with a grain of salt. This is indicative of an unorganized company that is on shaky foundation, and unfortunately, based on a myriad of reviews; I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

GAO Tek offers a rich learning environment to anyone who wishes to grow in their field and take away some valuable teachings from an internship. Team leaders and managers are available to answer questions regularly, and autonomy is provided for those interns who like to learn independently.
