Garbutt - Collingwood Belfor

Had sump pump fail in our finished basement. Garbutt Belfor in Collingwood helped enormously in helping us navigate and restore our basement back to original. Special thanks to Jason B & Ian G for painting and carpentry and Matt and Zac for managing and seeing everything through to the end. They are a great team!

After having a water pipe leak in my basement apartment I called my tenant insurance. They sent me a wonderful team of professionals who took care of everything! I was extremely impressed with their compassion and everything was explained in detail as to where my belongings would be and if I needed access I was able to retrieve what I needed.
Everything was carefully packed (considering all the “stuff “ I have) was such a wonderful feeling knowing that they cared.

Just wanted to give give a shout out to Rob Walker (project manager), and his team, for providing excellent service. After discovering mould through an air quality text (provided by Garbutt Belfor), the team provided remediation services of the mould.
Rob and his team were great to deal with, they were very communicative and responsive through the entire process. They worked efficiently and diligently, and got the job done on time, as agreed upon.
I would definitely use these guys again, should the need arise!

Just before the long weekend in August I suffered water damage in my kitchen and laundry room. Rob arrived within a couple of hours and surveyed the damage and explained in clear and concise terms the steps involved in repairing the damage. A huge weight was lifted from my shoulders at that point. Rob and the crew arrived when I was told they would and their professionalism and work ethic were outstanding. A special thank you to Evan and Adam for a job well done in repairing the damage. I am very grateful and pleased with the results.

Rob and his team were incredible! Rob was quick to arrive on-site when we called about our mold issue. He explained everything in detail and in a way we were able to understand.
The quote came in same day and the mold remediation specialists were on-site the next day.

Brad, Jacob and Tammy were incredible. Greg, the project manager was a pleasure to work with. Our basement apartment flooded and the team came to do our emergency restoration. They went way above and beyond to help us remove large appliances up difficult stairs. They even removed large items that weren’t listed just to help us out, like a mattress, a stove already outside and more. They were good-natured, thoughtful, and kind. Jacob’s laugh is infectious. Tammy took the time to bring back an item accidentally discarded.

I have no words to thank them for helping us out during this brutal process.

We had a flood in our basement and Belfor showed up within hours. Within a couple of weeks our basement was back to normal. Better actually. They were prompt, polite, professional and respectful. In and out in a timely manner.

We were very pleased with the work done by this firm to restore drywall that had suffered water damage. I dealt initially with Rob Martin, then Greg Janse. The work crews very efficient, attentive to detail, and did a fantastic job in getting our place back to almost better than original condition. I would recommend this firm without reservation.

Our submersible pump quit for the downstairs bathroom and flooded our finished basement. Immediately after hanging up from the insurance company, Troy from Garbutt called. I should add this was in the evening. He was here in 2.5 hours. The next morning I received calls from Pedro and the flooring company. Pedro and his remediation team were on the way here to do what they do. Truly amazing! Later that day, the floor guy was here to take measurements. 5 days later, the team removed the blowers and dehumidifiers. Neil and his team were right behind them to pack everything up and load into a container which was delivered to our driveway that day. All of the damaged items were removed and taken away. One week later, Pedro and Greg were here to assess all the repairs that were needed due to damage. We also discussed some changes we wanted to do. We hired Garbutt Belfor to do the construction. Greg took very good care of us. Two weeks later Joe (carpenter) was here to begin repairs and fix us back up. It's been quite an experience. I asked Pedro in the beginning of this ordeal, how long a process this would be. He said approximately 6 - 8 weeks. It was 7 weeks and 1 day. Fantastic! After Joe made everything pretty again, Neil and his team were back to clean and unpack. The container was picked up the next day. Back to the beginning, I made one call to the insurance company and Garbutt Belfor took care of the rest. They truly helped remove a lot of stress. Such an awesome, amazing bunch of human beings. I highly recommend Garbutt Belfor! Totally competent and beautiful people!

We used Garbutt-Belfor after we had a flood in our basement and we are so happy we did. From the Project Manager, Matt, to the Site Supervisor, Zac, to the main workers, William and Darren, everyone was awesome! The turnaround time to get the work started was so quick and appreciated. William spent the most time at our place. He was always on time, courteous and was meticulous with his quality of work. My daughter (9), was absolutely thrilled with the extra little touch he added to her little play room.

I can’t thank this team enough. It is so nice to have our basement back to normal and livable again.

Garbutt was top notch! They took over a renovation gone bad and provided incredible service. They are everything I needed in a contracting and restoration company. He kept me a apprised of all the details from afar (live in Toronto) through video, text, by phone calls and an occasional in person regroup onsite. Onsite, Troy was able to realize my vision (I am a designer) for a beautiful custom stone fireplace, tricky tiling plans, feature walls and a complete rebuild due to a flood. Troy is a pro and works very hard. Matt stepped up from the beginning and helped us out of a bad situation (a TO contractor that didn’t care and couldn’t get the proper trades up to collingwood). We immediately felt like we were in good hands with Matt. A full estimate was provided in days. He was truthful and built immediate trust and most important, was local to Collingwood. This made our project flow and move seamlessly. We created a mutually respectful relationship. Brittany from the contents division is extremely organized and this was important with all the items that had to be removed. She was lovely to talk with and very responsive. Neil, who moved the contents back in was respectful, very hard working and kept his team moving through the unpacking process quickly. Thank you to an wonderful company and team for taking a complete disaster (old contractor that we had to fire) and turning it around to be a complete success! This is 100% to do with the people who work at Garbutt/Belfor. I would work with them again without hesitation. Maybe I will. Top Notch!

I recently had my garage doors replaced due to an accident.
Rob Martin from Belfour was there first thing in the morning with a crew to temporarily close off the garage, and handled the paperwork for the claim and put us in touch with the insurance adjuster. It was seamless.
We now have new doors, that were installed by DJ from A Plus Garage Doors who Rob recommended. Really nice job. Highly recommend him!

I had a flood in Cranberry village and hired Garbutt to restore back to original form. I was super impressed with their attention to detail and quality of work. They made a stressful situation not so stressful as they were so good at their job and did exactly what they said needed to be done. I would definately recommend using this company if you had the misfortune of a flood. Also, they worked very well with my insurance company which was also a bonus!

This company was selected by my condo property management, to do repairs after a water leak. They did a very good job, drying the carpet & drywall etc, then replacing drywall & baseboards, and painting. Very quick response to start getting things dried out quickly, only 2 days after leak was found.

These Guys are the best period! From Chris the project manager to Emmitt, the lead installer, true professionals! From demolition to clean up, worked all day everyday until the job was done and done right. Fantastic!

Garbutt Construction DKI came and restored our basement after water damaged all of our flooring. Trevor was so easy to get ahold of and always quick to respond to any inquiry we had along the way. The crew that came to remove the flooring, set up dehumidifiers etc.were quick and very friendly.
After the new flooring was put down, Eric fixed our drywall, painted, put all the trim back on and put our basement back to normal. He left our place looking Fantastic!
