Came here during weekend lunch hour, busy and line up as usual. Hainan chicken rice is good. Price is affordable. Hk styled French toast tasted bad, too wet tasted like homemade. The restaurant is small in general.
Food was great, but the dining area is tiny, not much service provided, our drinks were made after we finished all our meals, and rude services… Also mandatory tips for at least 12%
I updated this review based on my recent visits. This place is very small with limited seatings. It seems to be very busy most of the time so expect to wait. From what I saw, most customers orders either the Hainanese Chicken with rice or the Curry Beef brisket, which I love. Except sometimes the beef brisket has nearly 1/4 inches of oil on top of the sauce.
Taste amazing with even more amazing price. The baked curry pork chop and beef brisket with cheese is a must try. But the place is small and super busy so it’s a bit chaotic. If you want good food but don’t mind waiting for a table, then this is the place to go.
It is a hk style Cafe. The food is decent but price is very good. Meal with milk tea for less than $10 is hard to find these days. Payment machine has min 12% tips. There is no custom option.
The Hainan chicken I was served was raw, 5 pieces out of around 10-12 pieces. I was originally excited to try this place w friends but lost appetite after. I ordered the beef after which was decent after, but I was not given much of an apology about the chicken.
Garden Hong Kong Cafe is a Hong Kong style cafe(茶餐廳) which is very common kind of restaurant in Hong Kong. The cafe is small and can't serve too many customers. The food is good and very authentic. The limited movable space in the cafe is really close to the Hong Kong style. The only complaint is they opened late, just wish they can open earlier in the day.
3.5 stars. Located in the Langham Place plaza with - small surface lot and many crazy drivers but there plenty of parking underground to charge up that appetite. In search of my next goto HK cafe, stopped by this establishment to try out their famous Baked Pork Chop rice. The portion sizes are generous for the price 9.85 all in and that's with tax! The included drink (HK tea/ coffee) came out lickity split but the entree took it's needed time (there is no water/ tea provided). When the meal arrived, it was piping hot and well put together. The sauce is a little light (quantity and taste), the pork chop was moist and could use a little more seasoning also but had good flavour none the less. The fried rice was a pass. More like freshly cooked rice that was mixed in with a scrambled egg than being fried and seasoned. I may try out the other offerings (beef brisket or the sandwiches) for another take. It's a decent offering with competitive pricing.
So many dishs under 10 bucks you can find nowhere. The less expensive food no means lower quality. Only one concern is you need extra time waiting for the low capacity seating.
Relatively cheap eats with the right portion. Hainan chicken: my favourite dish! The rice is soaked with chicken broth. Raman meal: comes with a toast and very light soup One of my favourite Chinese food places to go in Markham:)
Great little hk cafe. I stress the word little. I usually get take out vs lining up but even their take out sometimes takes a while. That being said, its worth the wait!
Busy little HK cafe! Portion for the Hainanese Chicken Rice ($9.75) and mixed sauce baked rice with chicken and pork chop ($9.75) are on the smaller side, without the French toast the rice wouldn't be filling at all, but at just under $10 each, it's acceptable I guess.
It's a small restaurant, make sure to come early or there would be long line ups. Their prices are inexpensive compared to other HK cafes.
I got the baked pork chop on fried rice with cheese, it was very good and well portioned. I would have to try their Hainanese chicken rice next time, I keep on hearing other people ordering it while I was waiting for my food.
One of the best Hong Kong style cafe in toronto! Love their bbq pork rice and curry beef! Does get pretty busy and they only have 5 tables in the restaurant.
Ate here yesterday the food was amazing my favorite and the best Chinese cafe I have tried. So surprised to see that they have the lava salted egg french toast which was absolutely delicious. I have only seen this in Hong Kong and was so excited to see it here. All the other dishes I had were amazing. This will be a regular spot for me and will recommend. Also the owner was so sweet he was warm and friendly!
Small closey restaurant with plenty of traditional HK style dishes to choose from. Place is small so be prepared to wait but definitely worth it. Great food quality at very reasonable price, one of the best out there.
Great HK food with new twist on taste. Recommend item is salted egg yolk french toast and R2. Seating is the only draw back to this place. Do NOT bring baby stroller inside as there is no room to even stand. If you like to eat and sit awhile after eating to enjoy your tea and play on your phone, DO NOT come here, you'll feel awkward sitting there while a everyone waiting in line will give you the evil eye nonstop.
Overall, great place to eat, I hope they'll open a few more stores with bigger seating area.
The salty egg yolk french toast was amazing. Taste of Cheese pork cutlet baked rice was ok, but very small for price and the meat were fat pieces. Red bean drink was very bad (undercooked beans, too much milk). Would come back for French toast only.
Cozy cafe in the T&T plaza. We went at a good time so we got the last available table but people were constantly coming in and waiting. Our server spoke English quite well. The food came pretty fast; I was surprised. I guess it's partly because it is quite small, they need to turn over the tables in a timely manner. In terms of the food, it was pretty standard for a HK style cafe and fairly priced. I thought the French Toast with Salted Egg Yolk was a unique menu item. I would recommend giving this a try. It's a great dish to share. It may be a bit much for one person as it is quite heavy. The only con is that it is pretty small - basically all the tables are near the door. There's a chilly breeze every time someone comes in. As a result, my hot milk tea didn't stay hot for very long. I also had to keep my scarf on during the entire meal.
Good food, good service. Place is a bit small and need to wait for a table (which may indicate its popularity) Need some more ventilation (my clothes smell like kitchen after eating)
