Purchase a lot from Gardner with no issues. Their return policy is great if your item is damaged and was not in description. They are very well organized and it takes very little time to get the products purchased.

I don't understand, if you don't charge credit automatically, why you ask for credit info on Hibid. The shipping company ask for more handling fee for using their debit card.

The cost me HST over HST plus processing fee. That just stab in my back and bleeding.

Great place to get deals. Looks sketchy outside and the parking is awful but insides pretty good. The showroom is fun to walk around.

EDIT: After spending over $14000 at Gardner between February 2018 and May 2023 with very few returns, today Gardner wouldn't refund me a pittance for an overtly mislabeled item. The only reason I was even asking for a refund was because the quality of merchandise over the last 6-12 months has declined badly; at least 1 in 5 of my items have been either broken or misrepresented recently (and I've never bothered to return them).

In response to my meagre return request I was treated with total contempt. The "LED glow ball" I had purchased turned out to be a plain white vinyl beach ball. It had no LED components nor could it possibly glow in any way, but they fought tooth and nail over their right to disregard the written description, claiming photos take precedent. The photo was a folded up item, presumably with its electronics tucked inside - otherwise they'd have listed the item as "as is", no?

Based on their behaviour I would assume that if the picture was wrong they'd simply claim that written descriptions take precedent. In any case, they made it clear that I can no longer trust anything they claim.

Eventually they refunded me the $2.75 - I think mostly just to make me go away - but the insultingly obtuse runaround and disrespect has cost them my business, for good.

You'll notice signs posted at Gardner stating "verbal abuse towards the staff will not be tolerated". I could NEVER imagine that sign would apply to me but lo and behold, here we are. I tried my best to stay calm but was justifiably spittin' nails.

So there we go. I won't be a customer anymore and I don't recommend you be one either. For whatever it's worth, there are several better auction houses in town at the moment (notably right across the street!).

Worst than encore but most places are, would rate higher but there are way to many lots on here that a re you bid X the amount of items in the lot. This is greedy scammy practice. If you want to make the same amount on 5 similar items list them separately if you dont then list them as one lot, it's pretty simple anyways 2 stars for now, sorry gardener

I love this place very honest people they try their very best to describe the item as best as they can. Their return policy is excellent, even though they described the item very well, and I rarely ever need to return there anything. I will continue shopping there for as long as they are in business.

Lately I've been disappointed. Mislabeled, misleading and simply does not work describes the items I've gotten. I wonder if Gardner is just another arm of the worst auction, Encore. My last purchase, 3 of 5 items that I had purchased were unusable. So i won't bid on anything from this auction house unless I've been able to go in and view it. Gardner used to be the best but not any more.

Really disappointed to get my order home and to find that ALL ITEMS EXPIRED by 1-2 years!

After looking at their auctions once again it's all just expired food and used products. That seems like a very shady business practice

I am pleased that the staff handled this correctly and refunded my order as they falsely advertised the items. But this is absolutely unacceptable. Will not be returning.

Awesome experience at this auction! The customer service rep was so friendly when I came to pick up my item. She was new but still very efficient and knew the process for a safe and contact free pick up.

Purchased 3 items that were NOT listed as is, drove across town to pick them up, got home to find out all of them had something missing or broken. Called and the rep Adelaide answered and said she would give us 50% off the one item once we went back since it was ripped, went next day and lady working said she would only give 15$ discount on the items which is no where near 50%. Huge waste of time I would not recommend this place, very unethical and don’t respect people’s time.

I have purchased items from Gardner Auctions several times within the past but my last experience with them was awful. I won several items, 2 of which were broken and unsable. They did not say "as-is" so I was able to return them - as this was at the start of the pandemic it took a little longer than usual to return items but this was not an issue for me. Upon arriving and doing the return, the gentleman who was there to do the return was very rude and was angry that it was a large item and he had to grab it out of my trunk. I was unable to get out of the car as per their rules. Since then, any interaction I have had with their staff has been atrocious - they have been nothing but rude and dismissive. My biggest issue after all of this is that they are now viewing my messages and ignoring me AND it seems they have blocked me from bidding on any future auctions. If they didn't want to do any returns then they should of have either a) briefly inspected their items before putting them up for auction as it only took me opening up the 2 boxes to see that the items were broken and damaged, or b) the easiest solution is to not accept returns. Period.
They clearly do not value my business as a paying customer and prove that with how they interact with their clients.
Please do better in the future because no one deserves to be treated like this when they did nothing wrong.
If you don't enjoy working with people, find someone who does. It is not appropriate to get angry and swear because you have to deal with a return which you knew was coming weeks, days and even hours in advanced as I kept in touch with this auction frequently to avoid issues.

By far the best auction house there is! Gardner has no minimum bid to return faulty items unlike Mackenzie’s that refuses to return anything under $20. Gardner opens, inspects and photographs their items.also something the competitors do not ever do. The staff has always been warm, friendly and accommodating. I feel like I am appreciated as a customer and that fact will keep us coming back. Thanks Mark, Nancy, Jessica and Jessica for the enormous effort you put in to your auctions and your exemplary customer service.

Used this auction house for the first time and won 5 items. Got the items home and all items were damaged or missing parts. They sold me a "used" crockpot where the bottom electrical connection was melted. There is a difference between "used" and useable. Sent them an email to advise them of the issue to see if they would stand behind what they sell. They did not even send a reply. I recommend not using this company as in my opinion they sell broken and damaged items only. Garbage in my eyes.

When I go there on pick up days most of the staff are very friendly and greet you with a smile and offer assistance. However the employees that work on the viewing/days in between are a real PITA to deal with.

Simply the best. They quickly inspect items and offer a few day return policy. Unlike many others in the industry who do neither. Amazing staff and the rare occasion something is missed or defective within 4 days they’ll take care of it. Strongly recommend Gardner. I’ve bought from 8 others this is by far best overall

You can pick up your items after 5PM, but you can't return your mangled junk after 5PM. Sounds fair. Stick to McKenzies.

One of London's best kept secrets! Gardner takes the time to inspect the goods and lists any issues which their inspection reveals. If you have a problem with your item which was missed, they will take it back and process a refund so long as you return the item promptly. The office staff and backroom staff are very friendly and helpful!

Bought some bandsaw tires from this auction. New "in bag" store returns, probably from Amazon? Good deal.
I notice some bad reviews here - I have bought dozens of items from this company over the years and every time I have received what I bid on. It's an auction, folks - if you're not sure about what you're buying, don't bid!

Quick and convenient pickup after my purchase. The auctions have some decent finds, but beware I am pretty sure that I saw one of my amazon returns that did not work on the site. That said the two purchases that I made worked flawlessly and have nothing bad to say about my experience. Limited parking onsite and located in an industrial area of south east London.

I have been buying from Gardner auctions over the past year and a half. My experiences have always been positive. The few times that I have had issues with the items I purchased their helpful staff made things right.

Usually thrilled with our purchases. Can get some amazing deals, and the very few returns we've had to make have been painless. Most of the staff are friendly and terrific (although the ones who aren't are hilariously awful). But who cares; it's all about the deals.

Thanks to the return policy I feel more confident bidding at Gardner rather than McKenzie.

Alrighty where to begin. I see a couple of triggered children giving one stars becuase they probably didn't read the terms and rules, go figure. In all honesty this is a great place to get deals on the most random items. You have a lot of time to inspect before the auction begins and if something doesnt state 'as is' usually they are able to accommodate you on a return if damage was not stated. A friendly place with fast service. You will want to come back again.

First of all I just want to warn people that this “business” is full fraudsters and sell only broken and damaged items. They state they accept returns, but do not accept any returns no matter of price. Their staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Please do yourself a favour and don’t bid on anything here or you’re in for severe disappointment!
