I am a relatively new medical professional with minimal assets. No house, no car, minimal investments. I approached this firm in April 2023 to help put together a cohabitation/prenupital agreement. From the outset, I specified that I was price sensitive, and wished to keep fees under $2000. I moved forward with the assurance that if I requested complete ‘equalization of assets’ the agreement could be completed under this cap. Besides from 2 minor changes (treatment of the matrimonial home and treatment of inheritances), I have not deviated from complete equalization of assets. It is now less than a WEEK before my wedding (5 months since I made the first deposit) and I have been charged $3500, and the firm has requested a further deposit of $1000 in trust.

If you are thinking of hiring this firm, just consider:
- They do not have the integrity to keep costs low or remotely close to your designated price cap.
- You could be charged upwards of $4500 for a prenup.
- Your prenup may not be finished months after the process is started, and days before your wedding itself, and you could be requested to deposit additional funds before further work can be done, putting you in an extremely vulnerable position.

Taken altogether, this firm engages in nothing short of predatory billing practices. They may deny this, but simply look at the facts that I’ve outlined above. Again, I can send my client ledger to anyone upon request. Don’t pay $837.50 for an email containing 2 templated documents. Don’t pay $201 for them to send you an email saying sorry for not replying for a few weeks because they’ve been on vacation.

Basically, in you’re not interested in having your money gouged from you, consider looking elsewhere.

Didn't even get to meet with a lawyer and I ended up withdrawing my application. Can't even get them to take an interest in my case or respond to my questions. Communications are difficult, ambiguous and you have to keep pressing them for a response. They don't even read the emails that you send.

STAY AWAY. Slow, never got the job done. Missed all prearranged deadlines. Deadlines they set. They just kept billing me and only delivered when I told them I no longer wish to move forward with their services. They will just keep billing you and missing all dead lines, and when you ask about what’s going on, they bill you for this time. Find someone else that will actually get the job done

I want to say I was disappointed with the Lawyers I had retained from the beginning of my matter (Annette & Mary). They had no time for me whatsoever but were quick to retain and get money from me. They led my case on for a year and replies were very slow or none at all. They finally had told me they were too busy for me and that I were to switch over to another lawyer who was able to accommodate me much quicker than they could. I wish they were honest with me from the beginning instead of wasting my time. In sensitive times, I was not impressed at all with their communication.
However, my 5 stars go to only Ashley & Michelle for saving me and coming to the rescue. I have much appreciation for them being so attentive and thorough with me at all times. Cannot thank Ashley enough for getting me through everything on a much quicker and efficient timeline. She's one amazing family lawyer!

Short version of my review. Had I not had Irina by my side, I wouldn’t have got this far in my case. It’s been a horrible case. Ferita has calmed me down many times to soothe my doubts, emotional imbalance and instability. Irina is very smart and handles everything for me in the courthouse and continues to do what she does best. Yes it costs money but the weight would’ve been too much to handle had I not found Irena. In all my years, Irina is the best and I can’t thank her and Ferita enough going though this nightmare. Our adventure continues though and I’ll update this review upon the completion of my case as I need a whole day to write this novel.

I went to Annette about a week after my separation and left the office feeling calmer than I had that entire week. She explained the process to me diligently and went through the options I had for the divorce process. My separation was amicable but any hiccup that we went through with my ex, Annette was good at dealing with the lawyer on the other side.

Mary Doyle her assistant is absolutely fantastic and was on top of responding to and addressing any concerns I had. She was quick and easy to speak to and great at putting my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend hiring the duo!

Worst Family Law firm out there. All they do is think how they can rip you off and take your money instead of helping you with your case. The 2 lawyers I used had no experience and took almost $11,000.00 and got me 0 results and demanded more money after saying they can’t do anything. I will be back here to give my full review with the lawyers names I used. In the mean time stay far from them and use other companies or represent yourself and your guaranteed to have better results and save lots of money. Full review coming soon.

No one really knows where to start when you’re going through a divorce. But, Gelman & Associates lawyer Irena Davis, is there for you at all steps of the process. My consultation was straight forward and she explained what I can expect, how much it would be, and what my options were.

Even though my situation was amicable she made me aware of all possible outcomes and what to do to make a potential contentious situation better. Irena’s law clerk Ferita, was also excellent and ensured I was up to date every step of the way with on going support. Luckily my ex and I were in a good spot to work through the details and didn't end up going into court.
