Gemini K9 Obedience & Training Equipment

Very thankful to have brought my dog lucifer to Gemini! I was able to meet akeem at the schutzhund trial where we were able to discuss training options for my dog and he advised that I look into training options. Akeem was thorough, patient and very fun to train with. I’ve been to trainers prior and I have to say this is the best experience I have had. The scheduling system is very sloppy here. Very unorganized and unclear. The cancellation ruling is also ridiculous considering that the scheduling issues I had happened on more than one occasion. My overall training experience was good but the management and scheduling department needs to improve

Our time at Gemini was exceptional, all thanks to akeem! We signed up for the basic obedience program to start and have now finished the advance 1 program! Never would have thought my dog would be obedient off leash! My expectations have been exceeded and akeem is truly gifted at what he does! Looking forward to advance 2!

Very disappointed with the level of professionalism at this place. You would think with their high prices for training, they would have simple things like scheduling figured out.

Last Weekend was truly it for me. My trainer was mark, and I appreciate him trying to clean up the mess created but for it happen more than once is just too much. In addition to double booking issue I had to share my class with another client because it was his slot originally. Having to wait half an hour and then having to share the half hour class is just ridiculous. I see no point is asking me my schedule during the evaluation for it to be changed and mixed up with others as the program progresses. Highly annoyed and disappointed in the service. I don’t know who is in charge of scheduling directly but whoever it is needs to get it figured out because it’s really unacceptable. Very sloppy.

The night and day results I have experienced with our dog pongo is beyond belief! I can’t thank akeem enough for everything he has taught us! He is very talented and I will tell anyone who will listen to see akeem! Thank you gemini!

I am so happy to have found Gemini K9! I have worked with two of their staff and had amazing results. Huge thank you to Kayla and Mark who have worked with my dog. They both operated with kindness and love for the animal, worked with my young daughter to teach her how to handle the dog, and have worked to make my relationship with my dog substantially better. The timetable was arranged in a mess. After changing it again and again, I still didn't attend the class according to the timetable. It's too bad.

I would definitely rate this place 5/5 star. My wife and I brought both of our poodles in for training. Our youngest pup we did the puppy classes and basic obedience classes. Even though she was super shy and scared, our wonderful trainer Akeem was patient and worked with us to help our youngest pup be more confident and taught us different ways how to open her up one step at a time. Our older pup did the basic obedience class and advance 2 classes. Because we do our "homework" or practice training at home we kept pushing for her to always be better and was amazed with the wonderful results. We get stopped all the time and asked where did we take our dogs to get training done. We decided to stick with Akeem throughout the whole process as he saw the potential in our dogs and always encouraged us in the right direction and made training alot of fun and enjoyable. He has all the patience and right tools/knowledge to help anyone as long as you the pet parents put in the work too. Would definitely recommend anyone looking to train their dogs to come here to Gimini K9.10/10 would definitely recommend. For us it worth the 1 hour drive from where we live to go to training. Every one of the staff members are all amazing also, but would definitely remember Akeem.

Akeem has been nothing short of excellent throughout our 8 weeks together! I was very hesitant about training collars and the concept of any punishment due to the fact that I was coming from a positive reinforcement only training school. Akeem was really able to break down the importance of both positive reinforcement and corrections. His patience and knowledge was truly evident and it made classes and learning truly enjoyable! Ivy is a completely different dog and I owe it all to Akeem!

I have taken my 7 month old pup there since March. The staff have been amazing, especially Kayla. Great support, training and advice. My pup, Kola, is well behaved and many people comment on that. I highly recommend this school. You won't be sorry

Awesome place. What we TRIED to do in another place in 6 weeks we accomplished in two sessions with our trainer Mark, and from there on, it has been a pleasure training our Goldendoodle pup. Now, we are looking to train her as a Therapy Dog and with the help of Gemini, it should be a piece of cake.
They went far and beyond trying to find the correct collar, letting us use various types until we found the correct one before making the purchase.
They do take it personally when they are educating you on how to handle your pet.

I realize that my review was deleted, very unfortunate. Instead of addressing the issue, the review gets deleted so I wonder how legit these other reviews are. Management is completely horrible! As I stated before, the training aspect was good but the approach and customer service skills from the manager margarita is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Everything from the way issues are handled, scheduling problems and just overall customer service experience is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s sad because I called multiple times to bring my dogs back for training, never a call back. I’m now with a new trainer and because of the experience here I want everyone to be aware that as much as gemini might be good in the training aspect, they’re horrible with customer service! Hopefully for their sake something changes with management.

We were assigned Akeem as our trainer for our young German Shepherd's Basic Obedience this summer and he was amazing with us, the dog, and the children. I have already referred others to Gemini K9 and I will continue to.

Akeem has been tremendous as per usual! This is our Second dog here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get my dog trained! Highly recommend! Thanks akeem!

December 15th, 2022 - Before Gemini K9 I was having a lot of issues just walking my 1.5 year old labrador retriever around. My pup was very easily distracted and also exhibited play aggression, where he'd like to play a rough tug with my clothes and my arms. It was honestly really hard to redirect or stop that behaviour. My Gemini K9 trainer, Kayla, educated me with the importance of balanced training and equipped me with the tools/knowledge to help me overcome these issues. We worked on sit, down, come, stay and heel around various levels of distractions. We also got past the play aggression really quickly. I'm happy to say that Clover passed his basic obedience with flying colours! Can't believe it! So proud of my pup! Thank you Kayla and the Gemini K9 team!

February 24th, 2023 - In this series of classes we really worked on shaping a focused heel, stay and recall indoors around heavy distractions. I'm happy to report that Clover just passed his advanced level 1 obedience! Our trainer, Kayla, always had helpful tips/advice on shaping these behaviours which really paid off. Now we are well on our way to heeling off leash and the recall is looking better and better! Couldn't be more proud of my pup! Thank you Kayla and the Gemini K9 team!

May 26th, 2023 - In this series of classes we took our training outside and really worked on some off leash training. We worked on sit, down, and recall at a distance. We also worked on off leash heels outside with heavy distractions. All that time I spent training/bonding with Clover really paid off! I'm happy to say we passed our advanced level 2 obedience! Thank you Kayla and the Gemini K9 team!

July 6th, 2023 - Clover and I finished an introductory 6 week e-collar training program. I have to say I was a bit against "shock" collars, but my trainer Kayla got me comfortable around it and educated me with proper use of the tool. The later is really important. In fact, my trainer handled the remote until she was comfortable with Clover's response to it and trusted me and my understanding of its use. Before this program started I was still having some difficulties with recall around heavy distractions like other pups. After this program I saw a huge difference in Clover's recall even while he was engaged in play with other pups. For safety reasons this training was a huge benefit to me and Clover. Advice for new/future GK9 trainers:
Come to class with a few questions and concerns you have with your pup so they can help you properly address issues. In your half hour sessions they help you shape behaviours in a controlled environment. Putting in a little time to work with what you've learned at home and on your walks a couple times a day will help reinforce those behaviours. Do not put your pup into situations they are not ready for like heavy and close distractions with other dogs. You need to work your way up! The most important thing is growing the bond with your pup! Trust the program. Trust what you've learned. Trust yourself. Don't compare yourself to others. Every dog comes with its own set of challenges. Be patient while making that bond with your pup. I'm not a professional dog trainer. Prior to GK9, I watched a few YouTube videos on dog training like probably everyone else who owns a dog. If I can do this. So can you! Happy Training!

They run an amazing Obedience program. Great facility and company. Our trainer, Kayla, is amazing. She is patient, encourages, knowledgeable and provide great hands on training and feedback, and she is super friendly. Our Beagle Jester has come so far in just a couple months. Would highly recommend using them and/or Kayla.

The staff is very caring, patient with all the dogs and pet parents. I can't not thank them enough for their guidance and training for our 2 fur babies. I will definitely recommend them for any training or behavioral issues. Now on to group classes!

Taking our puppy Chili for training at Gemini K9 was the best decision we ever made for him! Our trainer Kayla was incredible, so knowledgeable and supportive throughout all of his training! We did the beginner obedience, advanced obedience and group class with her! Off leash, Chili now has excellent recall and heels perfectly, even with lots of distractions! We get comments everyday about how well behaved and trained he is. I would HIGHLY recommend Gemini K9, especially Kayla!

Akeem is truly one of a kind! I’ve been to 2 other trainers prior to him and I can say my experience with him has been nothing short of excellent! I obtained results after my first session and he truly understood my needs and wants and gave me the confidence to get my Alaskan malamute under control. Realizing that my energy and lack of leadership was the main issue has truly changed my relationship with my dog and even helped me even understand myself!
