Gem's Jerk

Terrible unpleasant staff, when asked what's on the menu refused to repeat the options. Responding with, I just told you what's on the menu earlier. Not all options on the board are available. Then offered no other explanation. Jerk chicken was cold and rice was soaked in gravy. The space looked like they were in the process of moving lots of chairs stacked upon tables. Just look dated and shabby.

This use to be the spot. Trust me. But they serving dry chicken breast with the orders now. Not a double legs and thighs. Pattie’s still good though. But the love left the food.

Worst and rude staff. Very unhygienic and stinky atmosphere. Food was very stale and smelled disgusting inside. Mainly the short lady in the front is rude and needs to be replaced. She doesn't know her job. Never recommended for anyone

Ordered 3 large jerk totally dried looks like stale kept out for long such a waste of money. This is the last time ever I would buy from these guys just a total waste of money.

I order fried chicken and rice why on earth did y’all make chicken breast fried chicken. It was so dry I didn’t end up eating it just OK maybe that’s all they had left and I went a different time ordered chicken rice and peas with oxtail gravy and again it was fried chicken breast, who the hell fries chicken breast I’ve never been to a Jamaican restaurant and you get fried chicken breast. It’s supposed to be a thigh and drumstick I do not recommend ordering fried chicken unless you want dry fried chicken breast and I ask for gravy and they put like two drops of gravy on it but the workers are super friendly as much as I don’t like sunrise I would rather eat sunrises fried chicken

The worst Jamaican food I have ever had. The soup was like drinking hot dog water and the stew chicken was bone dry. And when I called to complain the customer service was extremely ignorant. Don’t ever go here if you are so much as starving. Wasted my money and they wanted a tip lol!

Nah some of the soup isn't too bad. But I'm afraid of this place as I saw a cockroach on the wall. That was a few years back so I'm not sure about now.

I don't know if the woman working was the owner or the employee, but I was really shocked and couldn't figure out why she was so disrespectful and rude. The woman is absolutely racist I wish I had a chance to give it 0 stars.

Dine in meals not properly served, meal is served in take out container and you have to take your own garbage to the dumpster.
Management not very social.

Just checked the receipt and I have to take off half a star for adding an item (Large Beef Soup $6.50) that we didn't order/ wasn't given. We didn't notice until days later when I looked at the receipt and I originally thought we purchased expensive drinks, hence the $45 bill. Make sure you check our receipts!

We visited on a Wednesday evening and ordered a large jerk chicken dinner, a large oxtail dinner and two drinks. The jerk chicken has a little bit of spice on the skin and the meat was juicy. The oxtail was flavourful with plenty of gravy. Both were served with a little bit of slaw and a good portion of rice and peas. For $2-4 more, the large is definitely the way to go. The lady behind the counter was friendly throughout. The prices on their website are outdated and things are about $1-2 higher in October 2022. I didn't see any signs, but were told that their Daily Specials are for orders before 4pm.

This review is not a review for food or it's quality, I'm recently having some work done on my house and I offered to buy the workers dinner, they indicated that they wanted this style of food, so I dropped into this location, unfortunately, the lady at the counter was having a bad day, she was rude and completely unhelpful. If she's the owner, she needs help, if she's staff then some serious customer service is required. Hopefully they'll make a turnaround and focus on customer service.

Great customer service. The lady who has been working there lately is always kind and singing. She’s very pretty and polite. Food is always on point especially their red pea soup which i wish they had everyday.

I'm sorry I hate to say this and really hate giving out bad reviews but my goodness.that jerk chicken wasn't as good, I had a friend who messed up on making jerk chicken and yet that tasted better than what I got here yall need to step your game up.

This restaurant doesn't even deserve a one star. Nasty service, nasty attitude of employees.no courtesy at all. I definitely would not recommend this place.

The customer service is poor. Their Chippies banana chips is stale and management is lackadaisical in dealing with customer complaint. I would never go there again they treated my wife terrible.

This is our go-to spot for a late night food order.the goat and oxtail are delicious and generously served.thank you

Wanted to order Jamaican food for my daughters birthday so I came into this restaurant to try out the food before hopefully placing a large order. As I walked in, I asked for a menu and the lady pointed to the screen behind her (which wasn’t on). I said there’s nothing up there, she said ‘well, that’s our menu’. Me: how am I supposed to order with nothing on the screen? Her: just stares at me.

This place is incredible. The food is sooooo good. My fav is fried chicken, oxtail, & curry chicken. Check out out.

I’m the kind of person who like to give something a chance and judge for myself, I ordered a small jerk chicken on skip and I must say it was not bad I enjoyed the sauce that was put on it, how ever the Portion was disrespectful I payed $9+ tax for something I would get at other Jamaican restaurant for $5.65! Just sad
