General Assembly Pizza

Went for lunch with a friend who has been staying in hospital and whose treatment has resulted in very low immune tolerance.
Arrived at 12: 15 to look for seating in a corner that might offer some isolation from other tables.
The manager came over to offer help, and without hesitation, he provided an end table for 4 and left the table beside us open as well.
The manager and staff made our choice of General Assembly Pizza on Adelaide St W.a very positive experience.
We both ordered The Loving Cup, essentially a kicked up pepperoni pizza. Likely the best I've had!
Service, food, selection, and drinks were outstanding. The manager's quick, quiet assessment and handling our our concern was everything! Giving 5 stars for this place because I can't give more

This site is cashless so make sure you have your plastic handy. This place is normally busy and full of chatter, so not the best place for something like a date. The small personal pizzas are oven baked on site with lots of great combinations available. You order upfront - a waiter will not come to take your order - diner style. Although the pizzas were fun, they were admittively not incredibly memorable. Worth checking out once - will probably not revisit.

Summary: 4.5/10
Good presentation and vibes, Bad tasting food. Would not be coming back. (looks are nice but for a restaurant, taste is everything.)

The pies looked great but man was the taste just not there, we ordered 2 pizzas; first a pepperoni, which tasted not charred but straight up burnt. While it was edible it certainly wasn't something I'd recommend either. We also had a Hawaiian pizza which honestly barely had a taste and had the same burnt aftertaste, it was weirdly bland for something with pineapples on it. Overall based on taste alone, I wouldn't recommend this pizza place from my experience.

Place: 7/10
Its a self serve place meaning you grab your own plates and cups, though the food is brought to your table via a numbering system (which is fine but odd to ask for a tip when the waiter is barely involved). That aside the place most definitely looks really pretty and modern with a overall good design.

Pizza is always good with friendly service. Modern space but would be improved with a slightly lower volume of music.
Will go back!

Can't say enough positive about this place. Amazing food, great service, lots of room, can't believe it wasn't busier! Will 100% come back!

The Sgt. Pepe is one of my favourite pizzas in the city. It’s the perfect balance of light but flavourful. Thin crust with a smooth cream base and fresh mozzarella, topped with a bit of parmesan to add that smokey taste to it. It’s a perfect pizza.

This was a surprise find and definitely has the best-tasting pizza I’ve had in the city. We ordered the cheese pizza and it was really good. They have a nice patio for people watching on the street. I definitely recommend.

I just ordered 3 pizzas and it felt like I was eating cold toppings on pre-made naan. The crust was super thin, yet soggy and burnt at the same time…zero “crustiness” for being a crust. I’m really disappointed. I remember this being pizza being really good. The size of the pizza is also very small compared to the standard Neapolitan pizza size at other restaurants.

Just got my first subscription box and I’m in love! Ordered 4 different veggie pizzas and they were super delicious and were as close to eating it at the restaurant as it could get. Will definitely continue my subscription. Can’t wait to try some of the other options.

We've never had their pizza in store but it looks delicious and people seem to like it. We ordered the subscription and unfortunately it just wasn't up to par. I followed the instructions to a tee - I know all ovens can be different but they just weren't tasty or satisifying enough for the price.

When it comes to gourmet frozen food delivery I'll stick with a service like Good Food.pricey, but they measure up.unfortunately GA is going to need better 'za if they want the dough from a monthly subscription.

If you like liquid pizza this is the place. I think I got a bad pizza. Taste was boring too. Overpriced for barely any pizza.

I can’t comment on their in-restaurant pizza. But their subscription based frozen pizza is not worth it. $40 something for 4 x 10” pizza is acceptable if they were tasty and great.but they’re not. Instead they’re uneven, lack flavour, and very very flat. I like the concept of subscription, brilliant, but quality needs to be worked out. I’ve cancelled and will only subscribe again if they can do at least 3 x better. [Update: GA have great customer support and are actively looking to make things even better. Kudos! I look forward to their next iteration! ]

I was starving and decided to do what pretty much everyone else was doing - eat it in the parking lot while it was hot. The pizza was divine and while I didn't add any extra toppings I'm glad I didn't - it was deliciously simple. The base was perfectly cooked and the cream made a decadent alternative to a traditional tomato-based pizza.

Toronto is lucky to have many great pizzas, but General Assembly is definitely in the top 3 for me. Excellent ingredients and perfect traditional crust. So happy to find these guys. Thanks!

General Assembly Pizza is breath taking in several respects.

The restaurant itself has long rows of tables used for seating (if indoor dining is allowed) or for an assembly line of preparing pizza (during pandemic times).   This can all be seen through several large windows from the street. There is a main entrance (not used during pandemic times) and a pickup entrance (at the other end).

Then there are 3 large fire pizza stoves that can also be seen from the street.

We bought the "Loving Cup" Pizza ($13.50 or $14.50 via Ritual). It is made with is made with tomato, aged mozzarella, grana, pepperoni, and wild oregano. We added a honey drizzle (additional $1.00). The honey is highly recommended since it adds a sweetness to the slight kick from the peppery taste. Extremely delicious!

We must definitely try more of their pizzas.

They also sell 4 types of salad, wine, and beer.

You can also order frozen pizzas from them (4 for $40).

Uniquely, you can also buy make-your-own pizza kits: 2 Pizza Loving Cup Kit ($21.00) and 2 Pizza Mila Margherita Kit ($19.00).

What is fascinating is they are the first in the world to offer a Pizza Subscription. Pizza can be delivered to you (free delivery) in stacks of 4,6,8, or 10, for as little as $39 or as low as $9 per pizza.

GA is my new favourite! The quality of their subscription pies is great and restaurant quality. The range of flavours and pizzas of the month is fantastic!

Was told 15 minutes for takeout.instead waited an absurd 30 mins, in the pouring rain. Trying to support local businesses during this time but this ruins the experience. Could’ve paid half the price and gotten quicker service at Dominos.

Hands down- One of my fav pizza joints in the downtown Toronto core. I always order the Loving Cup (all pepperoni and cheese), all pizzas are made to order and never reheated so you taste the grease, the melting cheese and the burnt crust. You know GA pizzas are legit and will turn out amazing when you see those big white Italian pizza ovens in their kitchen! I’ve dined here many times and the staff here are always friendly. After you place your order, the pizzas usually arrive within 10-15minutes, not much of a wait. I highly recommend their beers on tap, they also serve wine but I’ve tried. Currently, they have a patio on the streets, no dine-in or you can order online through their website. Pick-up time will be mentioned in your confirmation email and the pick-up procedures are pretty easy. If your order is not ready, you have to stand outside (due to COVID protocols). The server inside will call your name through a mic system once it’s ready.

From the first moment you come to this restaurant they give you a great feeling. Very congenial team, it is a lovely place to go out with friends or with your date.delightful food, skillful chief cook and stuff, comfortable cost and courteous service. Highly recommended.

The toppings are really good, and I'm very impressed with their vegan options. But I found the crust pretty bland - it's kind of dry and like a tortilla, lacking the chewy yet airy texture of a high quality dough (e.g, Pizzeria Libretto). Not a deal breaker though, I'd go back and try more flavours.

50$ order: received pizza that wasn't made properly, contacted the business with the issue, and no reply. Pizza was as thin as a piece of paper (you can see light shining through the slice in photo) and crust was somehow raw and burnt at the same time with a gummy/hard texture. Pepperoni pizza was soaked through the dough with grease. Ended up ordering more food elsewhere and took the L. I remember when this place first opened the pizza was great, what happened?

Ordered margherita today- I've never had such a bad margherita before, and extremely small pizza - for 18 bucks after tax

Order came an hour and 15 min late and was cold. We are currently heating it in the oven as we speak. I called the store and they said they will 'hook' me up next time.our order was over 60 bucks and the guy offered a free drink or a free pizza. Guy, how about something that's 60 bucks in value.anyway I usually love their pizza but this was a terrible experience.

[Edit] I called them the day after and they honoured my order from the night before. Even added an extra pizza and 2 drinks. I gave the extra pizza to a homeless dude on my way home. Really appreciate the friendly service and company integrity!

This pizza is really good.idk what else to say.if you’re looking at the reviews because you don’t know if you should go here or not you should try it.

Terrible attention my pizza was in 25 min. 4 people who arrived after I were taken care of. I wasted my mealtime and thanks to them I didn't eat anything.
Pesimo place

Crust is great and service is exceptional. I love even just the classic with pepperoni. A little pricey for a personal-sized pizza but so worth with the quality of the ingredients they use. Yumm!

I orderd lamb Borghini pizza but my pizza bottom and around the edges was burnt. I'm sorry but I have to say it was wasting money for this small portion of pizza.

We ordered four pizzas today - 2x margherita, a sweet heat and a domino effect. They were so good that we promptly turned around and ordered four frozen of the same for next week! Delicious!

Fun story: got the pizzas for my nephews, one of them with his mouth full very seriously claimed this go be the best pizza ever eaten. I trust kid's taste:)
