Georgian Bay Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

So me and the wife stayed here for four days. Four days we will never get back. Upon check in there were hairs found on the living room floor. After calling front desk they said they will see about someone coming to vacuum although they only come every three days. No one came. Next day I vacuumed the whole one bedroom suite myself. Upon vacuuming the floor food was coming out of the long shaggy carpet. I got vacuum from housekeeping which doesn't even have an agitating spin brush to clean such long carpets.

Each night upon sleeping my wife, myself would get stuffy noses after about 20 minutes of sleeping in the bed. We both would wake up with very sore shoulders, necks.
After day four we had enough. We talked to front desk. They referred us to a customer account specialist. We asked for a different room. They offered us no different room, except that they are all the same. Now my wife, myself had little restful sleep that we should have had on our holiday.

We decided to leave the hotel three days early despite our paid week. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We would advise staying here for any length of time. My wife is still not feeling well. As soon as we were not in the hotel room felt better. While staying here we even bought a humidifier as well a air purifier, as well as airing out the bedroom every single day of our stay totaling four days. None of these methods helped.

We will never ever go back to this hotel to sleep, rest, ect we would advise other the same.

Check in was easy. Great stay for the rate and location. Super close to Scandinavian spa and blue mountain village/resort. Loved free parking and the space inside king bedroom suite. The couches were dated though with a few stains but other than that pretty clean space. They allow one hour early free check in. No room service fyi

Grounds were poorly maintained. Room was clean but small. Extra services were meh. Overall the place seems old and a bit shabby besides the renovated lobby. Not a bad stay but not great either. I’d rather have stayed at a cheaper place with a free breakfast.

Just went for a one night getaway and it was a lovely stay. The rooms are spacious, fully equipped and clean. The pool is nice but too small for the number of guests. Gustav's restaurant was delicious and both servers at night and in the morning were very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

There is no elevator to get to the second floor.
To be honest I didn’t feel welcomed there. Staff seem indifferent. They helped me but I didn’t feel welcomed like other places I went. I don’t want to point out individuals but if someone can’t be friendly and welcoming you are probably in the wrong industry.

We stayed here for two nights while in town to visit the Scandinave and to explore Collingwood. The front desk staff was lovely, gave us a map of the town and showed us some great spots to visit - it was so helpful! Our room was clean and looked great, only small complaint was that the coffee machine didn’t plug into anything, the cord couldn’t even reach the outlet so we had to move it to a new spot when we wanted coffee. No big deal! The heat in our room briefly stopped working, but within ten minutes they sent someone up to fix it and we were all set for the rest of the weekend. Very easy to make reservations for the pool, which was a nice touch. It was disappointing to not have housekeeping for a multi-night stay, but we were able to get fresh towels very easily. The biggest downside is that they do not offer an elevator for second floor rooms - not exactly easy to lug bags up the stairs. Overall we had a great experience, all of the staff members we dealt with were friendly and helpful, and we will very likely stay again!

Very nice room. We are staying in the renovated rooms. But no elevator. We had to carry out bags one flight of stairs to the 2nd floor. Staff offered to help. No biggie. The rooms are nice. Our room was a standard suite two queen beds. Very comfortable. Not too soft and just firm enough. Comfy soft bed sheets. Very clean. New carpet and flooring updated furniture. We also had a full balcony overlooking the outdoor pool you can sit out on the balcony, it comes with two chairs. There is an indoor pool also. It is a saltwater pool. You do need to book a time that you will be in the pool and proof of vacation and photo id required. Bathroom is also updated with a nice walk in shower and a large vanity. The hotel provides hair dryer, iron a small fridge and a coffee maker. Due to COVID-19 they don't clean the rooms daily, but you can request fresh towels bro be brought to the room. Staff is very friendly and helpful too. They are using a texting system for everything. It works great. Want to make a reservation, text them. What to book your pool time, request towels, need more coffee. All you have to do is text them.
The Gustav Chophouse restaurant is in the hotel on the main level. We enjoyed dinner there. Great spot. We would definitely come back here and would recommend it.

The restaurant was great, hence any stars, the coffee room was good… and now the fun part of our stay, jk… the hotel does not take legal Canadian tender without informing you before hand.you know, bait and switch. Then they put us in the room right next to the laundry room where we got to hear a lovely shrill high pitched beeping that didn’t stop. There was a loose cobble stone on the patio that I tripped and fell on.apparently the security guard stood by and watched that, because a minute later I was on the patio and he comes to the door and says he can smell smoke, even though I’m on the patio and did I mention he’s a former cop because he sure mentioned it.

Hotel staff are not very friendly and were rude when we called down to book a pool timeslot stating it should have been done upon checking in even when it was 8 plus hours before we wanted to use the pool.

Edited to say: This is my 2nd poor review for this hotel within a month. I stayed here for one night November 8th. Upon checking in our room had saw dust all over the entry from hotel updates that wasn't cleaned. I went and asked it be vacuumed while I was in the pool and returned and it still wasn't done. They try to give excuses for everything claiming they are short staffed however when I left for the pool the lady was vacuuming the hallway infront of my room. Clearly the staff here lack communication, I shouldn't need to chase them to come vacuum up a mess that shouldn't even have been there when I was handed a room key. The phone in our room also didn't work and we had to use cell phones to call the front desk.
It also appears they rent out the pool for swimming lessons on Monday nights so there's 0 chance that you'll have any quiet in the pool area with kids and swimming instructors being loud. The flow of children in and out for swimming lessons was constant.
I wouldn't not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. You're better off staying at living stone which has a much better location and hot tub

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel the staff were super nice!
The hotel amenities especially the salted water indoor pool was amazing.
They have bikes and tennis too!

My wife and I were at this hotel a week ago for our honey moon. The hotel never acknowledged our honey moon at all. The room wasn't decorated not even a bottle of champagne. The hotel has a number you can text for anything you need. When you text it the person replies and is not helpful at all. You have to book a time to use the pool, the restaurant is closed for breakfast throughout the whole week! The spa is closed for renovations but not advertised on their website. Lastly the mini put course looks all run down and not maintained at all. I will NEVER stay there again. And don't recommend it. Don't waste your time and money!

The place is newly renovated.

-The front desk person late night shift was a security guard. He is not guest friendly, maybe it’s not his job. He told us not make a noise when walking back to our rooms, which made sense.so we quietly walk the hallway AND YET he followed us like school teacher. Our group age is between 50 to 65 years old, we’re not high school kids!

-When we were inquiring via phone, the hotel rep offered; that we can play lobby piano as part of amenities. But when we asked the (front desk) Security Guard he said we can’t. Be consistent!

-The server during breakfast at Gustav restaurant was very rude, we know proof of vax is required (like everywhere else) but she acts like a Health Police. There’s a friendly way to do it. Nothing is stopping her to say “good morning”. This Covid is an inconvenience to everyone, but we can still be “normal” people.

- Night servers were great! Specially the male wine server.

Pros: Room was clean. Staff was phenomenal- went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Easy communication with staff through text. Good location between Collingwood and Blue Mountain. Very well priced for the area. Outdoor pool was pretty.
Cons: could use some more hand sanitizing stations throughout. Sink in room was slow to drain. Inaccurate TV guide (who watches much tv on vacation anyways ‍️)
Overall, a very good experience. We will definitely return

Spent a week here.observing covid protocols. 1 hour reservations at pool. Played shuffle board and mini golf. It has a BBQ one can use as well and a playground for kids.

Great hotel beautiful and so clean will definitely be back, Staff are so nice and friendly, loved it.

Booked a 1 bedroom suite for 2 nights at Georgian Bay Hotel in Collingwood to celebrate our sons 1st birthday. When we arrived to our room we found it filthy. The kitchen had crumbs all over the floor. I got a broom and cleaned it up because we didn’t want our 1 year old crawling around on a dirty floor picking up crumbs. Then we go to the living room where our 1 year old finds an old grape on the floor and almost eats it. Thank goodness my husband stopped him in time or he would’ve choked. Then I go into the bathroom and there are piles of someone’s hair all over the floor. It was disgusting. You would think that would be all but wait! There’s more. We then found crumbs in the bed and the same medium length straight dark hair hair that was on the bathroom floor was also on the ‘fresh’ towel in the bathroom. We checked in later then the checkin time and by the time we got there, we had to feed our son and get him down for bed because he was tired from travelling. So the next day we had the option of moving rooms or having our room cleaned. We opted to have the room cleaned because if you have travelled with a baby/toddler there are a lot of things to be packed and unpacked. Unfortunately we were already unpacked and had the monitor and pack and play already set up and didn’t want the hassle of packing it all up and setting up in another room. Not to mention we had decorated the room for his birthday for when he woke up and didn’t want to ruin it. For a $600 room, we were extremely disappointed. The front desk said ‘this has NEVER happened before’ but made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal. The hotel states they are taking additional safety measures with covid and I would think a clean room would be high on the list. Apparently not.

Mediocre service (no water in fridge for instance and vending machines also had none available), good enough rooms, nice and friendly personnel, walls and doors tranfer noise so not much rest before 1 am or after 6 am.

Cheesy outdated hotel, not great for families, not great for couples. No idea what sort of clientele they hope to attract, but I'd suggest skipping this hotel, look for anything else

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Friendly but unobtrusive staff, a great secluded outdoor pool and excellent on site restaurant. The rates were very reasonable and it made a good base for daily adventures in and around Collingwood.

Friendly and helpful staff. There is an option to text the "Front Desk" on your cell phone, it was awesome and we had a response within a couple minutes each time. We never had any issues during our stay, but I feel if we did it would be addressed quickly.
Right on the "Vacation Inn Trail", and 1km (and super easy to get to) from the "Georgian Trail". Very clean. Several on site activities to chose from. Not sure when, but we will return again in the future.

Nice place - super friendly staff. Not too far from anything. Really nice size - not too big not too small. Would recommend.

This place was just OK. As timeshares go, it had all the basics. It was a bit small and dated. Not a lot of light comes in on main floor. The hotel was mainly closed due to covid.

Very bad customer service, I had to cancel my stay at the hotel cause my husband contracted Covid-19 and they still charge me a night at 270$. I send the the proof and still haven't get a phone call after 2 weeks.

After months of lockdown, I found the place clean and very welcoming! Horible weather, but the warm pool made it up.
Definently a good place to try out!

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious. Amenities and the atmosphere are very good overal for a very descent price.

We really enjoyed our stay here, and truly appreciate how clean and tidy everything was. The room, and the renovations, were really good.

The mini-putt course was fantastic, being groomed and not artificial. (You may want to bring your own putter!)

Stayed in a 3 bedroom/4 bathroom condo/timeshare unit. Everything was good except for a few small issues, WiFi wasn't working. Otherwise had a great time

Needed to relax with the family and getaway from the busy life style of Toronto. Great getaway for relaxation.

Stayed here in October with my husband for a weekend getaway. We had the worst stay.
Our hotel room was outdated and dark. There was so much noise throughout the night. Someone from the restaurant started getting ice from the ice machine early in the morning. When I told the front desk manager about this, her solution was a 10% discount off our next stay! I had to laugh, that doesn’t even cover my gas to go up to Collingwood again. Needless to say, I will not go back here.

Very limited wifi which is very upsetting as we have to use our mobile data. Utilities in the house is very worn down. Not worth staying in it

We rented an 4 br cottage in Aug 2018 and the cottage was dirty, rundown and needed many repairs. We do no recommend this hotel.

Nothing special. Room was clean. There was no book in the room for room service or local fare and hotel amenities. Grand ballroom was ok. Food was mediocre.

Nice enough but nothing special. The room was clean and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was also good.

My whole family was able to stay here on short notice, and it couldn't have been better. Some of the suites seem a little weird architecturally, but the quality is there and the service is great!

Room is comfortable and prices are decent. However, the hotel really has to start taking some responsibility for the fact that they advertise breakfast as being included with the room, when Gustav restaurant is routinely overbooked and cannot accommodate all of the hotel guests who have been given vouchers. The hotel needs to stop overbooking the "free breakfast" and limit the vouchers to the number of guests that the restaurant actually has capacity to handle. Selling rooms with an "included breakfast" and then just slapping a disclaimer on your website that "breakfast reservations are recommended due to popularity" is no answer to disappointed guests stuck with useless vouchers because no reservations are available.

Very well worth it for the price, has an indoor and outdoor pool, on site restaurant, bbq patio, bike rentals, mini golf. 7 minute drive from Blue mountain village, 7 minute drive to supermarket. Good location, very well priced.

Driving in is nice and visible, lobby is nice, looks newer. Friendly staff, clean, and spacious room but could really use updating. Shower grime over time is not nice to look at and the showerhead is loud. Some stuff doesn't work/falling off. The wifi is TERRIBLE; you'll find it difficult if you do anything but read email. 1 bedroom suite that we have is a good room for extended stay, full sized fridge, microwave, stove, and dishwasher. I heard some units have laundry but not the 1 bedroom suite that we have. Not a bad place, just in need of renovation.

Stayed with family for 3 night in 2 queens bed room. Room was very clean and and wash room looks newly built. They had two pools in door and out door which kids enjoyed a lot.

Awesome hotel. My boyfriend was here for a work conference so we arrived early but they were able to accommodate me with check in at 1230 so I wasn't left waiting around. The room we stayed in was one of the unrenovated ones but it wasn't even bad just not the super modern look hotels are changing to these days. The room was very clean, the only thing I did notice was the bathroom vent needed to be cleaned out which would help prevent the mirror from fogging up (not a big deal). The outdoor pool and the entire grounds were very clean and up kept well. All of the staff at the front desk were polite, friendly and very helpful. I had dinner as well as breakfast at the attached Gustav restaurant. Both meals were delicious but the stuffed yorkie bites and seafood bouillabaisse I had for dinner were truly 5-star quality.

Dated rooms musky smell. Need to remove carpets in rooms ants on them. Location was good. Bathroom dated but clean. Need more lights in rooms hard to see. No elevator if on second floor.

Great hotel with beautiful facilities. The rooms were a bit outdated but the restaurant, bar, pool and lobby were beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I requested an updated room if possible but wasn't expecting one. The hallways were pretty outdated as we were walking to our room so I kind of figured we weren't getting an updated one. We were pleasantly surprised upon entering our room, it was beautiful and you could tell it had recently been fixed up and painted with new flooring and an updated bathroom.

The shower floor was kind of dirty, and so was the balcony, it was actually too dirty to even sit on the chairs out there but other than that the room was perfect. I think we really lucked out.

The restaurant, Gustav's, was fantastic. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast. They were very accommodating with my allergies and made me feel comfortable. We would have liked to have gone swimming but it was very busy and there were a lot of kids so we decided to go to the beach instead. It would have been nice to sit by the pool on such a hot day though.

We had a great time here and we'll definitely be back, for longer next time:)

Very nice location and staff. Our stay was really short and we didn't get to use the facility to its fullest but we were happy with cleanliness and comfort of the room. The thick curtain kept the light out and the air conditioning unit worked well. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were well maintained and clean. We would stay again with question

Rooms are a little tired but still a decent place. Lobby restaurant (Gustav's) is not bad (for breakfast, at least).

Needs a business centre where you can use a computer. Recommend upgrading to the 1 bedroom suite. Well worth the $40 extra!

Perfect location just outside of town, the room and bed were both big and comfortable. Service was great, and the restaurant was one of the best hotel restaurants I've been to. We were very happy with our stay and will be coming back in the future.

Wonderful Resort Hotel and Spa, beautifully landscaped property and grounds. They have an outdoor pool and golf course/putting green.
Recently renovated suites and guest rooms and the top floor are all gorgeous 2-3 bedroom suites for long term and extended stays.
