Very upset with the Georgian triangle today… Brought my kitten in to be neutered & when I picked him up he was covered in his own poop… head to tail! When I asked the lady (unsure of name) she has short grey hair and glasses, she said “oh yea that can happen and we didn’t see it and can’t take the animals out once they wake up” to me that just sounds neglectful!
He just had surgery I can’t bathe him and his incision was covered with poop. I see wiped him down but he is still smelly and now I can’t put his cone on him because he needs to clean himself off. I am beyond furious with this.
This is a photo of his blanket he was in when I picked him up. My husband took the sweater he was wearing off of his back and I took out my kitten from the carrier and wrapped him in the sweater and held him the rest of the way home.
These folks are incredible. What they do day in and day out is absolutely amazing. We adopted our fur baby 8 years ago. BEST DECISION EVER! Jagger is an absolute dream.
An almost a year, my family and I got a rescue 1 year old Male cat we called Milo. We love him and he definitely a gift from God! The animals are well taken care if and anyone who can, please support their hard work and amazing service!
Everyone at the clinic was incredibly professional, kind and well organized. Many thanks for the outstanding job on taking such good care of our puppy!
Angels are real, and they work here. Thank goodness for this amazing facility doing everything they can to keep pets and their families united and healthy. Cannot recommend this organization enough. Please please please ADOPT - Don't shop.
My 1.5 year old rescue dog Bowie and I just completed the adult basics class and absolutely loved it! It was 4 classes and well worth every penny. Bowie hadn’t been on leash before I got him about a month ago and is now doing great on leash. He is also doing great with recall and other basic skills. There is work to be done daily at home but with practice you will see amazing results with your dog. Erika is a lovely instructor and gave us advise on other topics outside of the class course. Thank you so much Georgian Triangle for running such an amazing class!
I went to an adoption event and picked up my new buddy, Jager. The people here are kind, happy, and loving. It is a charity shelter doing great work for dogs and cats.
Our experience here was very good. The lady that did the interviewing was extremely helpful. The question and answer period brought out facts that we needed to know. We were impressed with their concern with the dogs welfare and that the dog matched the person.
Don't bother going to look because they won't let you. It's like they are hiding something the way they advice you to go and shop online only, a profile doesn't tell you if you'll have a connection with an animal but unless your taking that animal that day they don't want you meeting them either, I'm looking around for the right animal to join the family and I feel bad for the animals that are being refused exposure to thier new potential homes.
We have been looking to get another dog to keep our dog happy. We have had our dog since he was first born (both his parents were on site). We recently lost his mother, after 14 years and so was trying to adopt a spayed female to be a companion to our boy. This, and all other shelter have a strict rule that all other animals in a home MUST be spayed or neutered. Our dog is 9 years old and we are not looking to breed, hence we only want a fixed female. I find their rule ridiculous, no wonder shelters are bursting when they will not adopt to a great home.
Took Khaleesi my cat here.wonderful place, and the one interaction I had with a staff member on how to continue caring for Khaleesi after her surgery was informative, helpful and appreciated. Will be my go to place whenever I get myself another pet.
These guys know their stuff and take very good care of the animals in their care. While screening for adoptions can seem laborious in the end it is necessary and works. If you adopting a cat as I was you get access to their "cat room" which is a real treat though makes choosing a cat very difficult, but fun. GTHS does a great job.
The volunteers for this place love their jobs They are all so friendly and helpful and making sure to find the perfect animal for you. We love our dog so much and if it wasn't for their help we might not have gotten him.
I love this place because people can adopt animals. I found a basket of naked snails roasting in the parking lot, tasted great though! Bring chop sticks!
Brought a few cats here to get fixed, we are fostering them and they will be getting homes. We brought them home and everything was fine. We soon realized both cats have the tips of their left ear cut off. NOBODY told us this would happen. We told them they are getting homes and after research, we found that this is a new practice to recognize cats that have been fixed and are getting released into the wild (which these cats aren’t) Now, the cats ears are swallow and we are very upset. As a human society this is absolutely messed up. Why are we mutating a animal with new technology and HUMANE methods that can replace this practice. This is so frustrating and unnecessary to see society continue to do stuff like this. Don’t call yourself a humane society when you do inhumane practices.
An Amazing place to go and adopt and visit all kinds of animals who just want some Love and a Home for Christmas, the Staff are Excellent and Compassionate to all your NEEDS as well! Thank you so much for your support and Love!
What an amazing facility and staff. I just wish we could get something like this in Toronto. They called Canine Haven Rescue to say they have found one of our dogs, just an fantastic operation
Went there late unfortunately, arrived at 330 so they told us they couldn't do another adoption which was fine with us, we were told to think about it overnight, I arrived at 12 being told that is when the adoption process opens up at the building. I arrived at 1150am with the adoption paper and found out that the puppy we looked at and were very interested in was adopted that morning, and I was under the impression you couldn't till 12pm but he was gone before then. And he was on the site at 11am. I bought the necessities for the puppy to arrive to find out he was adopted earlier in the day. Complete bs. Staff was great but such a let down, we didn't even get the time of day to even try.
I was given a hard task of finding a neighbours 2 year old dog a furever home. It is a hard and emotionaly draining task as the last thing we ever want is a creature to be somewhere where he or she does not feel loved and is not cared for.
I always say its easy to find a pet a home but much harder to find the right furever home.
I asked around and turned down some that said they would take him. I know its so important to be settled and having medical needs met. I reached out to my vet clinic and they directed me to GTHS.
I started my research as I knew nothing of them at this point. I asked people and read reviews and then made the call to them.
I was then told how to surrender which would allow me to visit the facility and meet some of the staff. I had many questions and concerns and when every question was answered and my concerns were laid to rest I was handed a form to fill out. I am not easily impressed but this day I was. The questions I answered were well thought out and I was more then happy to answer every question as I knew this is what would help the staff help this 2 year old pup and find his furever home rather then him have to go thru this again.
The staff take such pride in the facility and the task they take on. The words that come to mind are Kind Compassionate and Honest.
I was given the time to express my hopes and concerns. At no time was I rushed or ignored as I have experienced in other facilities.
I left with a lump in my throat and a few tears as I was leaving behind my dear four legged friend but I know he has wonderful people on his side willing to take the time to see his needs are met and only the right person/s will be what he knows as his furever family.
Went to adopt kitten. Very helpful. Some confusion as to how quickly you can adopt. We thought we had to wait for references to be checked. Found out we could adopt that visit. We didn't bring our crate but they had a crate we could buy. If you go be prepared to take pet home.
Very disappointed. I am not from around here and just found an injured seagull on Hwy 6 outside of a Collingwood and called to get assistance. I was driving so was hoping to talk to someone to assist the injured bird. I was directed to their website. Zero immediacy and it was less complicated to call the police. You need some customer service if you’re in the helping business.
I went and visited the cat room at the gths and the next day came home with a cat. The staff and volunteers were very helpful and even the IT guy was friendly. They gave me a full run down on my kitty and explained everything very thoroughly showing how much they care about the animals there. Although they were sad to see their favorite kitty go they were so happy to see he found a loving home to go to. Adopt don't shop please.
So glad the GTHS is helping animals in need. I love the open concept for the cats here it’s a wonderful place with staff who really care about finding each pet a forever home!
We adopted a dog from here (lily) and I would easily recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt! The staff are great and they care about the animals and the homes that they go to!
Amazing staff always so welcoming and lovely animals! The way the staff takes care of these animals is so amazing.they are definitely loved and well taken care of there:)
