The moment we walked in the gate we were attacked by a flock of pitbull/mastiff type dogs and the owners didn't even immediately help it was terrifying.

Huge park with many things to do around, but I was in awe with the garden. They have beautiful flowers all around. Definitely recommend to visit this place if u are traveling to Sarnia. The only issue is not having map in different entrance, which makes a little difficult to navigate.

Germain Park encompasses some 60 acres of land which originally belonged to the County House of Refuge in 1889. For lodging, the residents cooked, cleaned, and worked the farm which had a vegetable garden and an apple orchard. In 1951, City of Sarnia purchased the land and in 1954 the building was demolished and designated for Germain Park.

In the park, you’ll find the adult activity centre, known as the Strangway Community Centre along with tennis courts, a lawn bowling area, baseball and soccer fields, and an outdoor pool.

Nestled within Germain Park, the award winning Germain Gardens is one of Sarnia`s hidden treasures.   In here you will find winding paths through beautifully manicured gardens, citizen garden plots, a beautiful arbor used as a backdrop for weddings and plenty of grassy spots to sit and enjoy the picturesque view.  Throughout summer 2015 we have seen the new Marigold Garden come to the park, thanks to a generous donation from Norma Cox and the re-dedication of the Sarnia F-86 Golden Hawk Plane.

Amazing idea to get your dog tired, before you leave for work.
Just need to being your dogs here, in no time they're gonna be tired of running after each other and playing.
NO FOOD OR DRINK OR TREATS ALLOWED INSIDE. It attracts other dogs as well, please be understanding about this.

Well kept facility by SarniaFC with some help from the city. Needs a lighted field but still a good choice for kids soccer and more parking for easier exit than girls fields

Beautiful relaxing place. My grand kids enjoy the play ground there. I enjoyed sitting under a shade tree and watching the kids play. I also enjoyed watching all the dogs run and play in the off leash dog area. It was quite peaceful and relaxing.

"It's very important to take care of yourself. Everyone's lives are so busy. Take at least an hour a day to recharge and do whatever makes you better. For grown-ups, whether it's a spa, sitting in a park with a book, or coffee, take time for yourself. " – Ana Ivanovic
“There are no words that can tell the hidden spirit of the wilderness, that can reveal its mystery, its melancholy, and its charm. ” – Theodore Roosevelt

Dog park (off Bright St.) was wonderful. The area is clean and well maintained one side for the small dogs and one for the big dogs. Only issue was one picnic table, would like to see another one (or two), on the outside of the fenced area.

We love exploring the gardens year round, I often take clients here for photos. In fact its one of the most popular places in town for photos. I got my own prom and wedding photos done here. There is an albino squirrel that lives here and is quite the city spectacle. We are usually just biking through as the park is a major connector trail for us, and see him. My son also plays baseball here.

A great gem in the middle of the city. The garden is great for walking in the summer. Plenty of green area to walk, and a modest play structure for the kids. Bring the dogs!

A few baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Variety of artwork, history, and playground equipment. Even an outdoor stage for performers and bands in the summer.

Lots of open space to enjoy the fresh air. A long, wide, paved walkway stretches across the park from east to west. There is a nice playground area with swings, climbers and slides for kids of all ages. Plenty of awesome ball diamonds, 2 with lighting for night games and a seasonal concession/restroom facility. Several soccer fields and nets of various sizes for players of various age groups. Two dog walking areas for large and small dogs and a cool little artsy garden area with many pagodas, decks, seating rocks and jet plane memorial. A lawn bowling facility with 2 play areas, 4 fenced in tennis courts and plenty of greenspace, both open and shaded are also found here. A beautiful flower garden/nursery with winding paths throughout that is simply gorgeous in spring/summer greets you at the west entrance to the park. Sad to see the arena closed but still an absolute gem in the heart of the city.
