My friend had a seizure here and the manager was the first one to help us, thank you so much for your help

The store was clean, everyone had masks on and the cashier was friendly with a good sense of humor. Lots of items for sale. Everything clearly marked.

I think one of their cashiers, Rose, is an anti-masker. She's never wearing a mask over her nose, and the one time I asked if she could put her mask on she refused. That was at least a few months ago and she's still not covering her nose.

Normally I would never suggest someone should lose their job, but I don't think someone who refuses wear a mask should be working around people during a pandemic anyway.

The Employees working here make this place and they make it a wonderful place to shop. Oh the hundreds of encounters I’ve had with the employees they have 99.9% been positive and helpful. The only Caveat I have for this GT is to check you receipt carefully as often the items on sale do not show up as on sale on your receipt…seriously though, the nicest people!

Small department store with everything needed for downtown apartment life and reasonable prices.
Hoping the future includes a "Super Huge Giant Tiger" with larger store, more products, "Tiger Groom Salon", "Tiger Claw Nail Salon", "Tiger Eyeglass Centre" and "Hungry Tiger" restaurant that serves Tiger Stripe ice cream.

Nice clean store and also well stocked. Owner does a good job with his staff and makes sure customers are well looked after

This location is pretty small so there's nowhere near as much selection as the other GT locations around town.

They didn't have what I was looking for, the big sunglasses that wrap around and have the little window on the sides, can't find them anywhere now.

I understand policies, Covid has everyone in a strange place. But. NEVER try to force a shopping cart on a Client with a Service Companion! How the hell and I supposed to steer? !

"Covid Policy" he said. Forcing me to make MORE contact with items, just increases my exposure AND causes problems with my Companion!

There were a few items on sale that I could not find and when I inquired at the cash the gentleman called to inquire. In many stores the cashiers would just say I don't know or they should be there. So it was so nice to see him take the initiative to call and ask. As it turns out both items were available. The cashiers name was Dave M, but didn't get the name of gentleman who went onto the floor twice to get the items for me. Thanks you both again.

Discriminates against people who look less fortunate then others.if you look poor they are going to follow you.

This is the best laundry mat by just having the big new washing machines and there big enough to do large amounts of your dirty cloths when you have too much laundry it is still okay because their machines are huge new and no matter how dirty your laundry is you just put the knob to hot water and the dirt will be sanitized out of it in no time ; sure the bigger new machines cost 6-7 dollars but thats really stuffing the big machines to the max and you still get your clothes so clean that you always seem to go back there because of the friendly staff that will assist you in what they can help with like making sure you know where the buggy roller carts are handed over by staff in such a friendly way and the business is open with staff be
ing there from 5am to 10pm even on the weekend!

I wouldn't use the word "dislike" to describe my recent experiences at GT, maybe irritated would be a better fit. I appreciate all the workers that risking their well being so that I am able to put food on my table. My issue is every other grocery store that was originally offering price matching is still honering that but Giant Tiger says due to this pandemic they will not be price matching. I Would think that if anything -now with the loss of jobs and income this would be the time you would be standing by your Customers.

Awful management specifically kyle i think his name is. Calling me pet names and following me around the store. #metoo

I recently attended this store after swearing to never go in again. Upon waiting in line with only one way in and out, there was not a six foot distance between customers entering and existing. There was an employee giving carts saying they had been cleaned. I was expecting everyone to be asked to clean there hands with sanitizer, but there wasn't any available. I ran into the owner and asked why they didn't have this at the door. She said they have it at the front for the cashiers and they were only concerned with their employees right now. I said oh, OK and walked away, after saying she should really have customers cleaning their hands before entering her store and touching everything, other sores do. She said not Food Basics. As everyone is aware, this is a downtown store, and doesn't have the cleanest clientele. She then came to find me a few minutes later and said they didn't get a shipment of sanitizer and it's hard to get. I'm also pretty sure this store is owned by an American, just saying.

Love the staff! Many times I see them being spoken to and treated poorly by customers and they still smile. Retail can be stressful and many quit but I still see the same faces there which is a great sign!

If you are a coffee drinker and use creamer. It has the lowest price for creamer. Lower than most grocery or convenience stores.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. I went in at 855 and they were nice enough to let me in. I was in and out quickly tho. I have been to this location many times and I have always had a pleasant experience. The local community are unique and eccentric.

BUYER BEWARE.
Bought a $6.00 pair of glasses that broke within the first 1/2 hour. Store Manager Paul refused to return them. TERRIBLE customer service. Will NEVER go back to that store ever again.

Not a place I shop at very often but today I was really pleased with the experience. Great t-shirt at only $7 and bacon at $1.97.

I am not really a fan of this place remind me of Christ Dollar store. The produce is chop and therein house products are cheap and poorly made

Was good. Manager picked on some happy little poor guy, that wanted to buy some boxers. But it's a good location none the less.

The staff were courteous and helpful.
One of the male sales staff even called a taxi for me when approached as my cell phone was dead.

Still not ready for sale, you get there and the sale items are not in stock. That's all the stores I been to. You get told it on the truck should be in tomorrow. Haha I seen were the item never came in but after the sale was over they had a huge stock of them.

I love shopping here except there are never enough tills open. I wish I had noticed the name of the lady helping me today. She was very sweet and helpful. Great customer service at the till from her. She was wearing a GT toque and had blond braids.
