I’ve been to Ginger several times. Always had the Pho only. The pho here is the best in the city. Simple and authentic. The broth they use is all beef broth. Unlike many other Vietnamese places that use beef n pork. The portion sizes available are small n large. I always go for the large. The reason I given them 4 stars is because their takeaway portions are ridiculously small. I got a large pho for takeaway n I can assure you that the portion was small. Al more recent visit: it’s still my fav pho restaurant in downtown. My most recent visit was a bit disappointing. Ordered for beef pho and atleast 70% meat was just fat! It was gross. I removed all the fat out and was barely left with some meat. Would really hope they will upkeep their usual high standards. If the owners read this review, please bring back the quality!

They need to give people the portion they charge for. So please do go to Ginger but only DINE-IN. DO NOT TAKE PHO AS TAKEAWAY. If you do take pho takeaway, just get a small one. I would still visit Ginger because nothing wrong with their food. Just that takeaway portions are small.

Ordered 2 meals. The veggie one had raw vegetables and bitter tofu, couldn’t eat anything. Don’t recommend it.

Absolute spot on for taste, just like how they did it in Vietnam, especially the hardness of the noodle and the rich rich broth. With this price and generous portion, it is almost too good to be true.

The food is ALWAYS amazing! ALWAYS done the same way. I can order food on a busy and slow night and expect the same quality food.

Best place to buy FRESH ROLLS in Toronto - fairly priced, and the crab/avocado rolls are amazing. The rest of the food is pretty meh, but for the fresh rolls alone, I'm giving 5 stars.

Their subs are not good anymore. Bread is NOT Vietnamese bread, and not authentic anymore. The meat was disgusting like a gyro. Vegan subs up in Vaughan tast way better.

Had an amazing pho one evening here. Lots of flavour and a good portion of ingredients. Decent price as well.

I love pho and have been to many different Vietnamese restaurants, and usually I'm fine if its not perfect because its so inexpensive. But I ordered rare noodle pho to go from foodora. This isn't rare, this is straight raw and you can't tell me that it will cook in the broth since the broth was luke warm by the time it came. Very disappointed and won't be returning to get food

Polite staff. Tasty broth. Vegetables were not washed thoroughly. Sand in the broccoli. No, it's not herbs/spices. Sand. Please wash vegetables thoroughly.

17$ for a thinly sliced chicken breast 4 shrimp and dry hard brown rice. The bathroom looks and smells like a crack den. Will not return nor do I recommend.

We came here searching for a quick, non fancy lunch. That was exactly the right place for it! Vegan pho and Vietnamese cold coffee were delicious.

Sorry I need to change my review from 5 stars to 1.seems the manager changed so people who are working there are not good as before, I waited for my food for a long time so I asked what did happen, then suddenly these 2 ladies (I shared their picture) started shouting at me and said bad words and throw the money I paid on my face:/, I have no idea why they did that but seems they were not in the mood lol. I was going there all the times but seems it's not a safe place to go anymore

Food always tastes great here. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Best phò in the city forsure.

Great place if you want a fast and affordable. Good portion sizes. I like the quality of their fresh rolls.

I ate at the Church street location and was disappointed in my experience. I ordered the vegan pho dish and also clarified that it was completely veg to be safe. After eating 1/3 of the dish I found a few large chunks of meat in the bowl. A restaurant that advertises dishes as vegan should not be so careless and negligent. I was offered a replacement dish but had already lost my appetite.

While the food is edible, the attitude of the staff here keeps me from getting food at this establishment. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! So much better alternative than to eat at this dump.

Amazing food, highly recommend the Chili Beef with Pad Thai, Tamarind Chicken with Udon Noodles and whatever is no. 47, with Seafood and Beef on top of Crispy Noodles. The flavors are incredibe, the staff is friendly, the sitting situation and washroom is the filthiest in the entire village. Which is why we get takeout from there. Still, an awesome place to try, if you're in the neighborhood.

My goto place for week night dinners when I don't feel like cooking. They are fairly healthy options. Good pho and curry

Just ordered their beef pho through uber eats. I opened the container and was removing some garnishes when I saw a long black hair below the garnish and on top of the beef! Disgusting and a total waste of $25

The food is decent but I never actually get the right order, sometimes they have beansprouts, sometimes I get vegetables even though I don't order it, it's just very inconsistent depending on who's working but the food is decent.

The food is good but DON'T go to the washroom! I have never seen such a dirty.rundown, and unhealthy bathroom in my life! If that bathroom looks like that, I am worry what the kitchen does as we can't see that!

Food tasted great. I'd prefer they cut the chicken in smaller pieces, but was still yummy.they no longer have the delicious homemade chilies in oil hot sauce out, but that may be due to covid

Good portion size and value for money. Pho wasn't the best I've ever had, but still very decent. Wish it was served hotter. Also, the patio was only for takeout orders which was slightly disappointing.

My go-to spot for something quick and cheap. I usually get a chicken banh mi and a fresh roll, leaves me full for about $8, such a great deal!

The food was amazingggggggg we had to stop and ear in a parking lot. The food didnot make it home. The quality and quantity was perfect. Sooooo good.

They used to be one of the best ginger locations, but now they have gone very cheap with leftover curry sauces, (I can tell because of how much the oil has separated.over night.) 1/5 filled wing sauce containers, the meat portitions have almost gone in half.
It a not what it used to be, idk if there are new owners or a new cook or what the cause may be, but the reason I used to love the place just isn't there anymore.

Food is ok, not terrible but not great either. Watch your bill.during a recent visit I was charged more than the price on the menu for some items. When I asked for the advertised price staff refused saying the menu (I’m referring to the illuminated board on the wall) was old and those prices are no longer accurate.

This is my neighbourhood Ginger. Service is fine. The food is reliable-tasty, fresh, reasonably priced with good portion size. The place is bright and cheerful.

They get a 4 for the amount of food and the great flavour. Their customer service skills and interaction leave a bit to be desired but i don’t go there for them. I get take out because the restaurant is far from enjoyable. It needs a good scrub down and updated. Food is always consistent in-flavour and quantity as i mentioned. I don’t believe you can go wrong for good priced food.

I had a five spice Bahn-mi and was not really impressed. The quality of their food seems to be a bit on the cheap side to be honest.

The restaurant seems to really reflect a bar area where they bank a bit more on you either being a bit drunk or just in a bit of a rush, which makes you pay less attention to the quality of your food.

Love the food and super fast cooking of it. Convenient location. Unfortunately I prefer the young location only because of the fact that they have yellow curry not green one. That's all.
Church has a great view and a ton more seating.

Had a hankering for Pho while at work and Ginger was near by. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Ordered Crab and Advocdo rolls and oxtail and beef balls Pho. Both were good, lots of noodles but was light the protein that goes with the dishes which was a bit disappointing. Getting 4 cause of the great service. Was good enough to make it an option if I'm working in the area again but not a destination spot.

I always enjoy the food. It's Pride right now so things are a little hectic everywhere. Little things should always be taken care of though.cleaning of tables, bathrooms etc. I had to ask for the table to be cleared and wiped down, bathroom.well.not bad considering the volume if people.

Atmosphere is bright and open.too busy to get my table by the open window.next time.

The food was well made. I liked the Vietnamese restaurant. The mens' washroom needed a better cleaning.

I used to come here about 5 years ago and thought it was tasty, cheap, but still ok quality. Sadly this place has slipped below the level of quality that I'm comfortable with. The bathroom was disgusting, the beef in my meal was questionable and not fully cooked, and the dining room was dirty and really just looks like everyone stopped caring. Too bad.

Good food, great prices. The only comment is that they don't have the first 3 things that I ordered from the menu, so I had to choose something else.

Ginger is my favorite restaurant in the village. The food is delicious and fresh traditional Vietnamese. The prices are the best and portions are big. Their rolls and mango salad are the best in the city. They also carry cheesecake factory cheesecake slices if that's your jush.

It may not be the best pho I've ever had (not that it's bad or anything), but the place is amazing overall! Very affordable price, kind staff and you don't have to wait a lot for the food.

Well, I ordered two shrimp rolls when I got into the restaurant, However I got them 50mins later without any apology. And the portion was not big. Definitely not worth the money, save your time and money and go to the pizzapizza across the street

It’s really annoying when I’m done then they told me that they gave me wrong food which is other’s order.
Sometimes you have to wait for a while because they probably forget ur order if u order the food which is not pop on the menu.

Mediocre food in a mediocre looking restaurant. I'd say it was good for a quick Banh Mi but you'll wait far too long for even this simple order. Avoid the curry on rice unless you like dry rice and dry meat.

Location is great, food is just about okay. I am not the type of person who is very picky on food quality as well.however, their customer service is not that great. I was coming on the day not busy at all. Only 1 person was waiting for take-out, then me. They told me it would take 10 minutes for my food, it's actually take longer than that. Their attitude is like just machine. No smiling, no friendly.they got less marks for that. Hope they will be better next time.

Great food at great prices! Bahn mi is only 4.50 and the chicken bahn mi is really good. Amazzingg pho and there dinner plates are really big for a great price; i think i got a dinner plate of chicken shrimp and beef on rice with some veg and a fried spring roll for like 9.50 plus tax which is totallllyyy worth it. They also sell beer if your looking to go sit down and enjoy!

The go to place for Asian food on Church street. We had heard good thing about the Pho here and weren't disappointed. As vegetarians, we were delighted to find a dedicated section for us.

However, that said the place isn't fancy if you were planning to take someone on date. This is a great place to eat and that's it. The service can be slow.

It’s a chain. The food is pretty decent. However it’s more than food. This branch definitely respects and appreciates their community. One Sunday afternoon I lost my phone and tried to find a place to call from they were happy to help even tho the place was busy, I went to 4 different businesses before I got that yes from the people in ginger. On another occasion I had to use the washroom at 5 am and the cleaning crew let me in even tho the place was closed, so every time I’m around I definitely choose to eat here!

One of my favorite places to get a Large Grilled chicken Pho or Beef & curry chicken on rice.

The proportion to cost is very reasonable and they're often busy because of this. While you can dine in, its bit too noisy for my liking. Their menus are also horribly organized, badly colour coded and overall look very amateurish. Their take home menu isnt much better.

I used to have them screw up my order and instead of Grilled I'd be given Steamed Chicken instead. This used to happen like 6/10 times I went there. It got to the point where I had to check that my food was correct before leaving. I even tried using Take out Apps to have my food ready for pickup and that there wouldn't be any misunderstandings but it still happened.

Even with that annoyance I still continued to go there because the food just tastes good.
And while their yonge & bloor location gets it right everytime, it's a bit more out of the way.

Now in 2019, I haven't had my order screwed up even once and I'm loving my Pho.

On Church Street, most restaurants are expensive, but Ginger is totally affordable and very good eats. My favourites are curry chicken and beef on rice, the tofu coconut soup, and a crispy shrimp roll. Oh, plus there's a variety of fruit juices.

They offer taste food with decent portion sizes for a cheap price. It's the go to place for locals for as it can get busy over lunch.

Make sure you check out their hot and sour soup. It's to die for.
