Gio Rana's Really Really Nice

Ordered on Uber Eats! Honestly I’m super impressed; Pasta came perfectly cooked, everything was super fresh, top food to say the least!

I ordered takeout on Uber eats for dinner. Very reasonable price, kind service, efficient, fast, ready a bit early and helped with the tech. The food was hot and tasty yet simple for a vegetarian order.

I managed to drop my food on the street while riding my bike and the packaging didn't explode so +1 for the packaging! So it's a bit disheveled in the photo.

Try this place out with the nose at the top!

Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Minus 1 star for not having a single vegan pasta option and also not allowing any substitutions. One of our friends had a hard time finding anything that was dairy-free, and although the server was excellent in trying to find out the ingredients in the dishes, the end result was a lackluster spaghetti aglio e olio with raw chili peppers (?). Everything else we ordered was fantastic. Negroni was top notch, espresso martinis tasted like boozy iced cappuccinos and the Tom Selleck tasted like a vacation

Gorgeous space, we sat in a little private nook by an old safe. Loved the privacy and vintage vibe, but 4 stars because the wall beside us was actually so dirty. Like not rustic old paint, just food spillage.

Food and drinks were delicious and well presented. Smaller portions in some dishes but left feeling perfect satiated and happy!

This place is pure Italian. It's woody and full of atmosphere of an Italian country restaurant. It's owned and operated by a couple of old Italian restauranteurs and family and staff that might as well be family. It's loud and friendly.

Then there's the food. It's unimaginably tasty good, completely unexpected flavor combinations, and completely eaten up with gusto. A pleasant time was had by all.

And the wine selection is good and around $60.

SO good. Came here the other night with my friends for a little girls night out and we were all blown away by the dishes in this place. The vibe of the place was amazing too. We got the risotto balls, Tuscan fries, gnocci, pappardelle, and the crespelle. SO good, will definitely be back.

The food was ok and the server was friendly enough. But the music was SO loud, we could hardly hear each other and had sore throats all the next day from trying to be heard over the noise. It kind of spoiled the dinner for our party. The decor is probably meant to be shabby chic, but really, it's just shabby cheap. Won't be going back.

Wowzerz! This place should be rated higher than a 4.7. The attention to detail to every dish is astonishing.

The meal all was delicate, soft, smooth, melted in my mouth. The ravioli with the sauce was to die for. And their pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly to my liking.

Not overly expensive for the quality that you receive. And the service was some of the best I’ve had in recent memory

Had a great time at Gio Rana’s, and it’s just so consistently fantastic! Highly recommend for a great meal with friendly and intuitive staff.

Always a great meal, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Can be hard to get a table on a Friday or Saturday, but that means they're doing something right!

Came with a group of 4 on a Thursday night and everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. There wasn't a single dish we did not enjoy.

Highly recommend this place! The perfect combination of food-drink and the vibe, the music and people are pretty awesome. Best plate I would order every single time is Braised Veal Ossobuco and Tiramisu for dessert! Excellent services! Reservation preferred as it gets really busy after 7PM.

Some of the best Italian food in the city hands down.get the meatball and focaccia. Also the involtini.

Not too loud to have a conversation but great atmosphere with music and tables close by. Great food, drinks, and service.

Carnivores need to try the involtini, you won’t regret it. Or anything, really. Been here over a dozen times and the food & service are amazing every time.

Came here Saturday with a large group for a birthday dinner. Everything was delicious, especially the prosciutto melon salad and the butternut squash ravioli. Plus the service from Jellay (spelling?) was awesome. Will be back!

We went NYE, they had a special menu for the evening. An insane amount of food. By the time the main course came, we were full. But did not let that stop us.

Burrata and prosciutto, giant meatball, and tuscan fries were my favourites.

I was disappointed in the “fresh” focaccia bread. I was expecting it to be hot and fresh with olive oil/vinaigrette to dip it in… no dipping…

Found the pulled pork dry and lacked seasoning. The ribeye that wrapped it saved it along with the red wine jus.

Would definitely come back to try their regular menu.

Stopped in to get out of the cold. Had some drinks and celebrated my girlys birthday! Great service and atmosphere! Bartenders were great fun! Drink up!

Had an outstanding meal last night with friends. Every dish was outstanding, from the plate of olives to the caprese, giant meatball, carbonara, and tiramisu. Excellent service and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

At fist I thought the menu was not that exciting, but everything we ordered was amazingly delicious. We shared the Tuscan fries and beet salad to start. I had the papardelle bolognese and my wife had the crispelle. The tiramisu for dessert was also very good. We sat on the sidewalk patio but seated away from the sidewalk, which was pleasant. We plan to return sometime, especially if they switch up the menu. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Excellent service and a more excellent plate of pasta! Coming from an Italian background and an avid traveller to Italy (once a week). It's hard to find something this good in Toronto!

This spot is an A+ for food, service, price, atmosphere. It’s just one of those gems in toronto.

I remember seeing their original location as a kid and being obsessed with the nose. I had never been until moving to leslieville and it’s now one of my favourite spots in the city.

I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Food was delicious! Fennel meat sauce and noodles and the risotto balls were great! Also liked the gnocchi and parmesan fries.

Fantastic Italian Food! Bravo! The service, food and atmosphere were in total harmony! Such a wonderful night we spent - eating, drinking, laughing and taking many photos of our dishes!

Started with Italian Beer - Peroni (light crisp) & Birra Mortetti (dark & tasty)

Later for dinner we shared a bottle of white - i cant recall which one it was but it went well with my dinner!

Decided to share 2 mains: Butternut Squash Crespelle *pasta made in house* & Seafood Cartoccio & the House Made Foccacia

The crespelle sage butter sauce was so good - I cleaned that plate up!

The Cartoccio was so lovely, all the seafood was cooked just right! I used the bread to mop up the delicious sauce/juices!

The restaurant was busy and we had an early reservation so we ordered dessert to go - my friend told me the next day - it was unbelievable!

This restaurant is on the higher end of places I frequent, but for a splurge on a birthday! It was perfect!

This place does food well. First time I tried this was for take out and every thing ordered was just perfectly flavored.

This time we dined in. Loved everything, except the special iceberg salad. It felt heavy due to sauce/dressing. But considering all the dishes I have ordered prior as well I would give this place 4 stars. Very nice staff.

Come for the atmosphere, stay for the food. This place is one of the more original Italian Bistros that's I've been to being located in an old bank/garage with an unmissable giant nose for it's sign. Food is flavourfully delicious, although a few people I was having dinner with complained about the portion size vs price. Service was friendly and fairly quick. Definitely worth the try.

Incredible meal and service! All the staff were extremely friendly and gave great menu recommendations. We had the risotto balls, gnocchi, and Ossobuco! All were fantastic! We will definitely be back!

We walked into the restaurant because our kids were curious about the nose. The interior is quite funky and not exactly our style. But this is the best service we've experienced in Canada, and we've been to quite a few places! The food and cocktails are great as well, but it's really for the service that I would come back here any time! Our kids were treated like kings and we just had an incredible evening. Thank you very much!

This is an amazing Italian restaurant. The food and service is stellar, always beyond my expectations. I can't wait until it's safe to dine out again because I miss going to my favourite place.

Gio Rana's NEVER disappoints! Now that their business has moved to take out we've tried almost every item on the menu - and every single one has been unreal. Quality ingredients are key and certainly shine in execution - not to mention the prices are very reasonable. They also offer free delivery with a minimum order which is nice to support local business VS delivery apps. One of our local favourites and will continue to be

Amazing service and fantastic dishes. I ordered the burrata, butternut squash crespelles, and short rib special and was blown away with the flavours.
They have a great heated patio with socially distant seating.

Food is always delicious! Their serving staff can be short and abrasive. As much as I understand that times are tough right now due to the pandemic, there is much to be said about politeness and respect. When a patron asks a simple question, a polite answer is all that's needed. It's unfortunate how sometimes people tend to forget the basics of common courtesy. That's the only reason for the 3-star rating.
