The best Italian/neapolitan style pizza in town. Very obviously made with a lot of love, and served in huge portions for a super reasonable price. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Wanted to go to little italy for the first time, and I came here. Did not disapoint. The waitress was very kind, it felt like a very welcoming place, for my friend and I. We both got a pizza, and I was ready to for it to be a small personal pan size. This was a big pizza. For $17.50, I got the margheritta with spicy salami. It was very good, perfectly cooked, and not too greasy. The crust was amazing. It tasted like something my granny would make us for dinner. The chef came up to us mid meal ajd asked us if everything was up to standard. I thought this was a nice gesture. Overall, it was fairly inexpensive, and a large portion of a very well made meal. It was the same price as fast food pizzas, so I would say this is defintely worth the try.
I went here today for the second time in 10 days. Pizza are delicious and handmade with fresh ingredients. Average about $20 for gourmet pizza which feeds 3-4 people easily. My son said he’ll never eat dominos again.
Initially came because the place is from walking distance to my apt, came back and keep coming back because this absolute gem of a restaurant is not only beautiful and cozy inside with comfortable chairs, the food is absolutely amazing and delicious, and the staff is fantastic. The owner/main cook is friendly and smiling, and the counter girls are always a nice Ray of sunshine.
My favourite Pizza place in Canada. The best Italian pizzas you can find around are here. Very delicious and at a fair price. The service is great, too. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian food.
This has become our favourite pizza place in Ottawa. We salivate when we think of the Africo Gusto pizza prepared by Giovanni or Octavio. A must try regardless of your pizza selection. Authentic Italian crust, excellent prices and guaranteed satisfaction to your taste buds!
Great place to meet friends and have a meal or snack. Family run business who obviously work very hard and offer wonderful friendly service. Lots of great treats, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. I had a delicious fresh iced tea made on demand not from a mix. Definitely recommend.
Giovanni’s has become my wife and I’s favourite pizza spot in town. Delicious pizza, good prices, and an authentic place with kind people. Highly recommend.
I’ve had a 10/10 experience every time at this place. We’ve gone probably 10+ times for sandwiches, and they’re always yummy. The bread tastes fresh, the salami is tasty, and the toppings are always according to what we ordered. Very chill vibe and welcoming. Sure gives an Italian family vibe. Quick delivery based on my experience. Would recommend it you’re looking for lunch or supper! A restaurant me and my partner frequent often.
Over the past several months I’ve been walking over to this hidden gem. I very much like that it is less than two blocks away. I always get my purchase to go. Ive tried several of their pizzas, and they are very good! Traditional Italian thin crust in an old school oven. Be aware that they are not the tasteless “ Ottawa pizza”, overloaded with cheese, undercooked and sugary sweet! This is the real deal! Now, I can’t give them 5 stars tonight because I tried their “Panini”. Their basic sandwich is $10, and I’ve had a few that were excellent, however tonight I ordered the simple Ham sandwich with the works, plus two bottles of beer to go. I did not realize a small bottle of beer is $7.50.so I’m $25 in before tax and tip. I’m ok with this, but the sandwich would have to be amazing! Sadly, tonight’s was not! Real skimpy on the Ham, (One of the cheapest cold cuts), as for the lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cheese, I had to pull it apart just to see if it even had any! I am disappointed tonight, but will give them one more chance.
This is one of the very best pizza I’ve EVER had. And I am travelling to Italy regularly. This pizza is art! If you’re around you definitely should try it. The size is generous, the flavours are amazing, the customer service is lovely. If I’m ever back in Ottawa I’ll be back to to Giovanni’s as well!
Simply the best Italian pizza in town. All the other restaurants I tried offer american style pizza but nothing compares to a real italian pizza especially made with quality ingredients, love and care by the Chef Giovanni. Bravo bravo!
Been meaning to pop in and check this place out for a while. Kept hearing it's an undiscovered no-nonsense authentic Italian joint. Stopped in for a coffee. Espresso was very good. Didn't get to taste the panini or pizze, but I got some good whiffs of their pizza and it smelled good. Similar to my mom or my nonna's pizza. Will definitely go back for pizza soon.
Love their pizza and vibe. 1 pizza is a good sharing portion size between 2 people. One of my favorites was the Sergio. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Such a great gem in this city! Small little authentic pizza, with fresh ingredients does not get any better! They are also very well portioned! Love going to this place Check out @carinadventures on instagram for more pictures!
The best pizza in town. The culture inside feels like your in Calabria Italy. Giovanni puts his heart into his pizza. Great food, great atmosphere and friendly owner!
I finally found a restaurant that serves my favourite pizza, tuna and onion. I know it may sound like an odd combination but you have to try it. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional!
Best pizza in town in love with this cozy place! Italian pizza and Italian music love it ️️️ also the pizza dough ohhhh don’t have enough words! Exactly how is supposed to be! Great job! And the staff very friendly
Friendly owner and fresh coffee. Visited with a friend and the owner was really nice to us, gave us some info on the different coffees they had. Would love to try visiting again to try their pizza or in the summer when the patio opens up.
Giovanni's is hands down, no competition, the best pizza in Ontario. They made this for the wife on valentines day. Owner is a great guy, prices are fair, and the espresso is excellent as well.
I was pretty disappointed with all the hype I was told about the pizza. The crust was a small warped blob that was hard as a rock, there was pretty much no sauce except a little dab in the center and minimal cheese as well. I had the Prosciutto and Arugula pizza and every time I took a bite the whole piece of extra salty Prosciutto would slide off and dangle on my chin and the Arugula would just fall off on the floor. I'm giving it one star because the staff was really nice and friendly. I might try it again as they may of had an off night or new cook but for now I'll just go back to Colonnade Pizza.
Very old place not renewed, but good place if you want to have a coffee and listen to some italians. Coffee only served in take away that may can change test in a good coffee. People very kind and fast to serve. I suggest this place if you are ab italian and have nostalgic about Italy.
Where to start? Giovanni himself, is a huge favourite of my little girls. The staff and owners are truly amazing and this hidden gem, is something everyone needs to check out. Everytime my family walks by they spark a conversation. God bless
Did I die and wake up back in NYC or New Jersey instead of Ottawa? Pizza was perfect! I'm so happy and excited to have finally found a place like this north of the border. Can also taste the quality of the ingredients
Best pizza in Ottawa! I don’t know what ingredients they use but it seriously tastes so fresh and delicious. Been going here for about a month or two and love that it’s consistently good never had a bad pizza. I’m never the type to write reviews but I just have to. They’re also so friendly and nice when I walk in to pick up my order. Definitely my new go-to! I highly recommend the Calabrese Pizza.
