Glass Monocle Eyecare

We've been loyal customers of GLASS MONOCLE for a few years now. Their staff (we usually deal with Shannon and Angela) and optomotrists are dedicated, kind, patient and very thorough. They have a great selection of cool/funky/ordinary/high-end and basic practical eyewear, and have a nice back area to wait to relax while waiting. The customer service here is top notch.

I had an excellent experience at the Glass Monocle in Leslieville. Optician, Shannon Dang, was very knowledgeable about the various types of products including the types of lenses available. Once I decided on the frames and lenses I wanted, she was meticulous about taking measurements to ensure the lenses would be a perfect fit. Based on this experience, I have no hesitation in recommending this business. Be sure to ask for Shannon.

Had a great experience here getting my eye exam and also getting glasses. All the staff were really friendly and professional. There was a very wide variety of glasses options and they also had a variety of brands of contacts to try for the contact trials. Thank you to Jacky for helping with the entire process and Shannon for helping me adjust my glasses so many times!

I broke my favourite glasses - a simple pair of cool readers - the other day. The hinge on one side was completely bent and came apart. I assumed they were done.
As I work down the street from Monocle, I dropped by with the faint hope that they might be able to work magic. I left the glasses with Amanda and before the end of the day I had them back as good as new!

Top notch service here - I went in with a pair of glasses (not originally bought from here) that got warped and were falling off my face to see if they were able to fix it, Peter took them to the back and came out awhile later with them fitting even better than when they were brand new!

Such a great experience dealing with Peter here. He was helpful, kind and so very patient with me. He did not rest until I was comfortable with my new glasses and I really appreciated that.

Just picked up our spectacles and my first prescription sunglasses. The customer service has been awesome which is why we've been customers for the last 5 yrs. The quality of the products And all recommendations from staff have been amazing. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for any glasses.

First time in was for my eye exam. I'd give it 5 stars except they were running a half hour behind. Not a huge deal but slightly inconvenient. The staff were great.

Returned a few days later to shop for glasses. Was greeted by name which was nice. Unfortunately that's where the great service ended. Both staff members were busy serving other customers. Unfortunately the setup is not good for self browsing (everything is locked up and no prices on anything). A staff member eventually came to help me. She was great but then she got tied up processing an order with another customer. I stood around for 10 minutes with no further assistance or any follow up from the staff member. A simple "I will be back with you in a few minutes" would have went a long way or "can I grab you any other frames to try on while I help this customer".

I ended up going elsewhere for glasses.

Am I ever so grateful that I received first-class expertise and friendly service; so loving my OP frames zeiss lense; my husband and I shall return again for sure!

I had an amazing experience with GM. They have wide range of selection and good price. Shannon is awesome, super friendly and patient. They use UV sterilizer to for all their glasses, make me feel safe during COVID.

This place is fabulous, i never know we had a such shop that exist in our neighborhood, they have ton of patient and service is amazing, great highly recommended and big thanks to Health

The team at Glass Monocle Eyecare was phenomenal. They were extremely welcoming (special mention to Shannon) and rapidly addressed my needs for a new pair of eyeglasses. The model I needed had to be ordered and it was ready for a pickup within a week. I strongly recommend.

I received such wonderful service here yesterday. I was helped by Shannon and a gentleman that I regret not asking the name of but both were incredibly accommodating, helpful, supportive, and KIND. The store has a welcoming atmosphere that allows you to shop comfortably without any pressure. Felt very safe, COVID-wise. Sanitizer available, staff masked, and they sanitize the glasses after every try on. They provide eye exams as well as eyeglass repairs and adjustments. I am so thankful to the staff for such a good experience and I will definitely be shopping here again as well as recommending them to anyone who will listen. Thank you so, so much!

Meant to leave a review when I bought my glasses here over a year ago, because the selection is great, the price was reasonable and the service was amazing, but I forgot. Had to go back today because a dog bent the arms (fixed fast and friendly) and was i reminded how much I love this place, so just here to say, highly, highly recommend.

My experience at Glass Monocle has been awesome! Heather was the associate helping me with a special order that I had and was extremely communicative and prompt. She gave me updates on the my order - which was delayed due Covid - she always provide sound fashion advice and introduced me to new boutique brands that I wouldn’t of known. Jacky, the owner, was also very friendly and helpful with adjusting my new pair glasses. I would highly recommend the Glass Monocle for you optical needs, and especially if you’re looking for a look and brand outside of the mainstream.

Would like to give a shout out to Glass Monocle Eyecare (Leslieville) for the amazing service that my mother received earlier today.
She went in for help regarding a pair of glasses that was missing a screw (they weren't even Glass Monocle brand) and the lady working there was very helpful and helped her replace the screw right away. When asked how much the service would cost, they refused any payment and even gave my mother a little gift.
My mom was very touched by the gesture and we will definitely be coming back for any of our future eyecare needs! We are glad to have such a lovely business in our neighbourhood.

Very welcoming and accommodating staff! The optometrist is very thorough and explained everything for me. They have a huge selection of glasses and sunglasses. With a good variety of glasses to choose from, the staff was able to help me narrow it down and choose what suits me best. Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Fantastic service and curated frames. Shannon (who's amazing) helped us both find frames we love. The personal time and understanding almost instinctively what we both wanted (mine and my GF) was wonderful. Went in with no idea what i wanted to change but left so happy with my new sunglasses (and her with new daily frames). Highly recommended!

Stopped into Glass Monocle on a whim, and glad I did! Picked up two pairs of sunglasses, including one cool brand I’d never seen before. Great selection, reasonable prices, beautiful space, and very knowledgeable and friendly staff! I highly recommend GM over any other sunglass spot around.

Checked this place out for the first time this past weekend. Great selection of eyeglasses and excellent customer service from the staff. They were patient in helping my fiancé learn how to put on contact lenses. The owner is always available for questions.

The shop is great, they have a huge selection of every type of frame you can think of. The second you get there the staff are there to help. Jacky is super helpful and not at all pushy, he really takes the time to go though every frame you like and helps you find the best one for you and doesn't do what alot of shops do and try to make a sale and get you out the door as fast as possible. Great experience, couldn't recommend it more.

Beautiful store with many great selections of various frames and lenses. Jacky was amazing and allowed me to try on 30 different pairs of glasses and answered all my questions and even helped with doing experiments to help finalise my favourite pair. I ended up purchasing 2 Ray-Bans. Highly recommend.

Great shop experience - I was surprised with such great service. Staff is really helpful and patient, the products are beautiful and with great prices. The best store for eyeglasses in Toronto. I was very glad with my purchase! The manager is super friendly. He helped me with all my questions and offered me a great deal so I could buy exactly what I wanted. I am very grateful - this store deserves to thrive. I also went to the optometrist in-store - very kind and professional. I wish all the success for these guys.

Very fortunate to have a glasses shop right in Leslieville with the services I am used to from Korea and beyond- Monocle knows glasses and also knows style and face type- will not leave you lost or questioning at all. It is a gem in Leslieville- don’t hesitate to check them out.

I came in yesterday and was very pleased with the service, i was given an eye exam and a fitted glasses all within the same day.the staff where excellent and went above and beyond what i was expecting.the prices where all very reasonable as well, i would recommend to anyone looking for a new pair of glasses!

Just opened. This place has a great selection of frames - lots of different styles and looks. Jacky was a big help. I tried on maybe 30 frames and he helped me narrow it down to one. I usually dread buying new glasses, but this time was a great experience right from the moment I stepped in. Highly recommend!

Leslieville has no shortage of optical/eyewear shops, but this new gem steals the show. A large selection of both glasses and sunglasses, this shop has something for everyone. Jacky (the owner) knows how to treat customers - knowledgeable, friendly and extremely client focused. My partner and I went in over their opening weekend and walked out with three pairs of glasses. We will definitely be back.

As I looked to my colleagues for recommendations on eye care places, I was pleasantly directed to Glasses Monocle. This new location just recently opened up, super clean and spacious. The most notable mention and high five definitely goes to the staff. Jacky, Dr. Lam and Shannon were not only so kind, but simply down to earth. Jacky patiently took us through various styles and helped me narrow it down to my final choice. I never felt pressured or rushed at any point, which is also a great bonus when shopping for anything really. If you're looking to get an eye exam or are shopping for new frames/contacts, I highly recommend stopping by. It's well worth the short drive, hop of a streetcar, or walk over. I can confidently say they'll take good care of you:). Oh, and side note, I received a call from the 24 hours later letting me know my glasses are ready for pick up. Super excited to pick them up!
