Recently, my health status became altered, suffering from a debilitating compression affecting my L4 - 5 vertebrae. My physician advised the importance of seeking out physio therapy treatment as a necessary means to correct the medical issue. Researching clinics within my area, I came upon Global Health Physiotherapy Clinic. A gentleman returned my message, introducing himself as Michael Liougas, agreeing to take me on as one of his patients. Upon our first meeting and initial assessment, Michael, a highly effective, empathetic communicator, focused on an active, constructive treatment plan, consisting of core exercises designed for lower spinal decompression. I observed Michael as both a very detailed oriented, resouceful physio-therapist and one of the best in his line of work. Michael and his lovely team assistant, Swatie were the silver-lining to my ailing back injury. I wish to thank both of these two wonderful people for their professionalism, education, advice and guidance throughout the duration of my treatment plan. I am now mentally and physically in a much better place and back enjoying my work.

I was very pleased with the results I experienced at Global. I went in with a very sore ankle and after just two 1 1/2 hour sessions, my ankle was 100%. I walked 10 k each of the next 2 days. Amazing!

Required a physiotherapist after a workplace injury. The list on WSIB's website wasn't producing results, so I did a quick Google search and came across Global Health Physiotherapy Clinic. Dr. Michael Liougas was extremely understanding over the phone and aided me in booking an initial consultation without delay. Over the course of a few months, I can say without doubt that I would not have made my full recovery without the exemplary care from Global Health. They even managed to extend my coverage at Christmas time before the cutoff time, so if you want a physiotherapy service that will do everything they possibly can to aid you in your recovery, I recommend Global Health!

For the first time in my life I sustained a very serious injury breaking my wrist in multiple places and my kneecap. Mike is fantastic. I had been suffering with a low grade rotator issue for 3-4 months. Within 3 weeks on an agressive schedule, I am pain free and able to return to weights again. I hope I do not need his services again, but I know I will be in good hands on my next injury.

The location, early/late hours, free parking and direct insurance billing make it a very convenient setup. The therapy and services are exceptional. I have been to other popular places but here Dr. Liougas is very interested in your recovery, pace, testing your level of improvement, and asking many questions on how you are coping. If you follow his direction, you will see results. I will go back for maintenence and other services, Ike orthotics. I feel like a person here, not just a patient waiting for my turn. Highly recommend.

I cannot thank Michael enough for the world of difference he made with physiotherapy. I came in with hip bursitis. I was living with unbelievable pain and suffered for a year before getting diagnosed. 6 weeks of the physiotherapy at Global Health and I feel amazing. Mike & Hayley we’re so helpful this week! Mike took my in same-day for a very painful neck issue. Their teamwork throughout the week had me feeling better in no time.

I was referred to Global Health by a former patient in order to treat an overuse/muscle imbalance hip injury caused by cycling.

Michael explained the injury and treatment plan in a manner that was easy to understand. The treatment resulted in a full recovery and return to cycling. The additional benefit to the treatments is reduced knee pain as a result of greater stability/muscle balance in my legs.

I have no hesitation recommending Michael and Global Health to anyone in need of physiotherapy.

I went to Global Health recently due to a recurring back issue that flared up again. Mike and Hailey did a great job of helping me recover. Mike was able to focus in on the root cause of my pain, and come up with a treatment program that alleviated my pain and educated me on how to maintain my stretch routines on my own. Initially, I was skeptical that the chronic pain which had bothered me for about three years would go away. I was frustrated because it had taken hold off my plans for future. I went to Global for a chronic repetitive strain injury that had bothered me for years. The clinic is in an old house and has regular staff that makes it very home-like and personal. The owner, Mike, and assistant, Brooke are enthusiastic and pleasant to be around. The clinic is older, but clean and uses strict Covid protocol to keep everyone safe. Expect that there may be a few other clients being treated in the clinic at the same time as you and you will have to do exercises at home to complement the in-clinic treatments. They do direct insurance billing. I have been to several physio clinics over the years and have had different experiences. I would put Global at the top of my list for effective therapy. The methods used at Global really work and my recovery exceeded my expectations. I attended for several weeks making gradual progress and when I left was taught how to maintain it. I have been feeling better since and it was really a life-improving choice that was well worth the time and expense.

I don't even know where to begin with this review! Mike honestly changed my life. In October 2020, I was injured during a chiropractic adjustment and had such severe lower back pain that even standing or getting up was excruciating. I was in physiotherapy for four months once a week and still I couldn't stand or walk for longer periods of time without pain, and my overall mobility was severely limited. After being looked at by four other physiotherapists, an actual back doctor specialist, and even a visit to the hospital, all I ended up with was a giant hole in my bank account and intense pain medication that made me sick. At only 29 years of age, I thought I would never get better. This went on for seven months, with three flare ups where I couldn't get out of bed for hours at a time. Even after getting up, I was stuck walking with a cane for weeks. In May of 2021, my back went into another severe spasm and I couldn't get up from bed for 12 hours even despite taking morphine AND muscle relaxants. During that time, I was on my phone frantically searching for an at home physiotherapist. It was a Sunday so hardly anyone was open. Global Health was the only clinic where I could get ahold of someone. I had a virtual appointment with Mike and he said he'd treat me right away the next day at his clinic. After calling the paramedics to help lift me out of bed, I felt like I'd hit an all time low, but I felt hopeful Mike could help me because he seemed very knowledgeable over the phone. Now, after only 5 weeks of physio with Mike, I'm back to my old life. I've been exercising almost every day and don't feel exhausted just from cooking or standing too long. I thought I'd spend years in and out of physio clinics, but I only spent five weeks at Global Health and now I can move on from this injury and enjoy my summer. Not only is Mike an extremely knowledgeable and effective physiotherapist, he's also very attentive and caring, which is what I think puts him above all the rest. Even on my days away from the clinic, he called to check in and see how I was doing. He was the only physiotherapist out of all the ones I went to see who prioritized me and treated my injury with the intensive care that I really needed. With other physios, I was either put on waitlists or just told to come in once a week despite being in such bad shape. I'd always be in so much pain by the next appointment. I never got better and wasted so much money, and aside from that I felt like everyone was too busy to care for me as an individual rather than just another patient. The constant support Mike gives is so important and makes you feel like someone is really dedicated to your recovery. His dedication and hard work are unmatched as far as I've seen. I truly do feel like he gave me my life back, and after seeing so many other professionals, I think he is probably the best physiotherapist in all of Toronto. No one else even came close to his level of dedication and knowledge, not even the actual back doctor. I can't recommend him or his clinic enough. He is one of kind and is doing a seriously good thing. If you want results, you'll get them here. Thank you Mike for everything you do!

Dr. Michael Liougas is a great physiotherapy practitioner, who helped me to recover my ankle injury in one month. I also highly value all the support and advise Dr. Mike provided me during the recovery, he is always accessible for his patients during the week and the weekends. It is also very valuable that all my appointments were accommodated to the time that suited me the most.

Michael is highly knowledgeable and dedicated to his profession as a PT. I have been getting treatment Pre knee surgery and now post surgery. Global Health has really changed my perspective on physiotherapy. I just graduated from my 6 weeks program. I went in with a very bad case of pinched nerve which landed me in the ER. I was in pain for 8 months! Today I feel so much better and no longer wake up in pain. Mike and Brooke are amazing and they really make you feel at home in the clinic. No pain no gain. They don't just rely on machines, they make you work hard to build muscles and advise you to eat well! My sister is shocked to see muscles on my biceps lol. Michael is an excellent physiotherapist. I highly recommend this clinic. I suffered from a very painful frozen shoulder. Michael was quick to diagnose it, and he and his staff put me on a serious regimen immediately. Their on-site therapy paired with a focused at-home therapy/stretching plan has allowed me to get back my mobility. They also gave excellent advice on how to lessen the pain in my shoulder, including tips on how to sleep and work more comfortably. Michael is very kind, and he is so good at what he does, that I actually looked forward to each session even though the physio was not easy work. He could always make me laugh through the pain, which was greatly appreciated. I attended the clinic during the summer of 2020, and Michael and his team took significant measures to make the clinic safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. If I ever have a future need for a physiotherapist, I would go to Michael immediately.

Highly recommend! I came here for a fairly serious lower back injury. After a thorough assessment, Mr. Michael knew exactly what was wrong with me and how to fix it. He took his time to explain what had happened, did some manual movements, and he provided me with some great recovery exercises that I can do at home. I’ve been to a few clinics in the past, and this one is by far the best!

Mr. Michael is simply amazing. I had severe discomfort on my right shoulder, so much that I had to rest once every ten seconds while brushing teeth, and I wasn't able to do any upper body workout. He treated it for 6 weeks. It's almost gone, and I started my workout. We had to meet online due to the virus, but his instruction has never disappointed me. Honestly, I had been skeptical on physio therapy, but he totally changed my view. Thank you Mr. Michael!

Have been to several physiotherapy places over the last few years for my daughter's ankle-related sports injuries. Michael easily is our favourite. He got my daughter back to soccer very quickly after she had been struggling for months under other physiotherapists. He won't book you for more than needed, and he follows up with you after therapy. He also fixed my Aunt's back urgently. Saw her the next day, and he got her walking and able to catch her flight the next day.

Mr. Mike will treat you like family. I always seem to go to him when I have an emergency, and he always will try his best to accommodate me. He provides professional, high quality, physiotherapy.
