GOGIYA Korean Fried Chicken & BBQ (Rideau)

I liked this place. Got here early. Only one waitress, so slow service but not bad. She was just very very busy. Good food. Nice variety. Fun experience that I would definitely reccomend to anyone who hasn't been here before. Not sure about parking as we walked here. Good for groups. 4 people would probably be ideal. Not good for anyone with mobility issues. Washrooms are down stairs. Womens washrooms were clean. Men's washrooms were a disaster.

Website showed dine in open but it was take out only. A huge letdown since we drove a long distance for the grill our own food experience.

If i could give a higher review I would. Our waiters Sherry and mike were so helpful.love the food. The price was amazing it felt like their was a party in my mouth and every one is invited. I am already wanting more.

Extremely expensive for the quality of food we received. We found the menu a bit confusing.when I ordered shrimp one piece arrived. I would not go again

Ordered through uber and the soy fried chicken tastes like utter trash. Even my dog disgusted from it.

I enjoyed the options for the AYCE. Wife and I went for our first Korean bbq experience and we weren't disappointed. We would go back, there was only 1 waitress but she was practically running to serve the 4 tables that were there. Food was yummy and fresh. Price point seemed good in our opinion.

I went to eat Korean barbecue tonight. The taste was fantastic, and the server was very kind to me even though I visited in the late hours. I want to go again next time, too.

Terrible! Waitress is racist. I had all you can eat on Thursday night. It was not busy. There was me and my friend at first, average service. Waitress’s attitude changed after next 3 people (Canadian) came. We asked for order second time after she finishing order for other 3 guests. She saw us raising hands and chosen to ignore us. We call her to come to help us to order. She said she need a min. 10 mins passed, she still not to help us, even chatting with other waiter. However, other 3 gusts called her to cam to order second round, she walked to them immediately.

The price for all you can eat is expensive than other Korean restaurants.

Comparing with other Korean BBQ, the quality of meat is not that good and only gives you 3/4 pieces.

We had the all you can eat dinner buffet, everything was good, although it was a bit more expensive than other korean bbq all you can eat prices. We had a lot of seafood and meat though, along with considerate and friendly staff, we were seated at a large table with plenty of room. All in all it was a good time. Looking forward to coming back in the future.:)

The food is great! Just wish there was more options, more staff (one waitress was only present) and a lunch price (flat $40/person all day)

Not a lot of a la carte items on their menu, so it's definitely more an AYCE korean bbq. Price for the AYCE was quite expensive even for a weekday evening. Prices for their a la carte menu were equally expensive. For the amount and quality of food you get, it was a bit disappointing. Kalbi ribs were surprisingly thin (probably because the sizes were meant for the DIY AYCE K-bbq).

Service was ridiculously slow (we dined on a Tuesday evening), despite having almost half the restaurant full - tables were left uncleaned for long periods of time, servers were hard to find and were not very accommodating.

Firstly, opening a Korean BBQ place one block down from another is a risky business move so I was hoping the ambiance and food would be an upgrade to the other, unfortunately that was not the case. The restaurant looks poorly set up without much thought to theme or decor. The menu was incredibly pricy for all you can eat and for limited two person BBQ the price was barely reduced at all so we picked the rice bowls. Taste wise everything was fine, the onions were cut quite large for some reason (probay due to laziness) but the real reason this place deserves a 1 Star review is because my girlfriend found a sharp piece of plastic in her food (picture for reference) which is unacceptable for food service! Definitely will not be returning.

The restaurant itself was decent, with comfortable seating and large tables. Not very impressed with the food quality though. The beef ribs were nice and tender, but the shrimps exploded on us. I would recommend that the chef cuts off the head of the shrimp, in order to make it more accessible and less messy. Gogiya does not provide kimchi refills, unlike other competing Korean restaurants and charges too much for what it offers. Furthermore, you are forced to pick the All-You-Can-Eat menu on the weekends, even if you specifically ask for the à la carte menu. That being said, I'm not someone who likes to be told what to eat if I'm paying for it, so therefore I would recommend skipping out on this place.

The second time I went to eat, I didn't want to go there at all. Five of us ordered 20 shrimp and served 10. After ordering three times, the waiter refused to serve any more. The dining experience was so bad that I would never go to the same restaurant again

Great KBBQ place, about $35 per person for 2 hours of all you can eat but this is as good as it's gonna get in Ottawa you know what I'm saying.
