Gong Cha

The employees at this store not only come across as creeps and weird, but I also overheard some inappropriate comments from the staff directed towards other female customers. On top of that, my drink was excessively sweet, even though I specifically requested them without sugar. They also missed adding the topping I ordered.

Ordered the Matcha milk tea with pearl today and all of the tapioca was stuck together like this at the bottom. The pearls wouldn’t even come up the straw. This is unacceptable and disappointing. I was in a rush to a meeting, so I didn’t have time to go back and complain. Not coming back here again. This was a wasted $7.68 on a regular size drink. Disappointing is all I have to say. Don’t come here, if you want bubble tea on campus, spend your money at Palgong Tea, instead or The Campus Bubble Tea. The prices in all 3 stores are about the same (overpriced).

I ordered 3 matcha mangos at the location at York University today and it was made very badly. The first time made me come back for more but the last 3 times I went back to get the exact same order made me realize that the employee there wasn't doing it correctly. All 3 of the order tasted differently. I won't be going back to this store and I believe u guys shouldn't either instead try noon moment or cha time.

I just dont understand, came 6 times, no waffle or croffle at the store.
I asked, they said they sold out, I know they just lazy to make it. Every time I ask is sold out, no matter what time

My recent visit to Gong Cha left me extremely disappointed and uncomfortable. The bubble tea I ordered was a complete letdown. Not only did the drink give me stomach troubles, but it also had an overwhelmingly excessive amount of sugar, despite requesting no sugar.

The pearls in the tea were a nightmare to chew - they were uncomfortably hard and detracted from the entire drinking experience. It’s baffling how something as basic as the pearls could be so subpar.

To make matters worse, a friend who accompanied me also fell ill after consuming a different drink from Gong Cha. It’s disheartening that a simple beverage could lead to such unpleasant consequences.

The way the Asian girl with long hair would stare you down when you ask for something that is clearly in her job description baffles me. Worst customer service ever. And the audacity to still ask for tips. I might as well go behind the counter and make my own drink.

I go there at least once a week but anytime I go there it’s always some missing in my drink just because they prefer to talk to each other than to pay attention to what they’re making. There’s that short guys with bunch of piercings and that girl with tattoos, they always put too much sugar when all I ask is 30 % sugar and I pay for pearls and beans but only got the beans but no peals. Id be standing by the cash register listening to them talking about other and missing things in my order. If u make mistake once or twice that’s fine but why why would u put a lot of sugar if I only ask for 30%?

They need to update their menu if certain items are going to be unavailable at regular times.

It’s so bad bubble tea, I’ve been a loyal customer with Gong Cha but this location is the worst of all. Bad bubble tea and customer service they don’t follow the sugar levels or what your request is. They just do whatever they want, spend your money wisely! Go to other locations instead.

Really nice and helpful staff unexpectedly visited this place it was really bad weather snowing and my phone died couldn't call a taxi so i walked into this place and asked for a phone charger and they let me use their charger had a peach tea it was refreshing thank you so much guys for your kindness and helpfulness

I’m close to this location so whenever thinking about Gongcha this is the first place for me. Several times I have ordered 50% sugar for the drinks but most of the times they have turned out very sweet, and yet even less than 50% were still so sweet. Only a couple of times they adjusted it correctly. I was thinking to say 0% sugar instead for next times. Hopefully their staff can see the reviews and learn to adjust the recipes and sugar level consistently. I still love to come here anyway.

Don't exspect so much in Gong Cha. My first time here was great, the staffs were friendly and no issues with the bubble teas. However, today, I waited for more than 2 minutes and no one came to take my order, one of the three staffs during the time chatting with each other, he saw me but he was like, " it's not my job so let's someone else do it themselves, no need to say to the others about this customer". This very annoyed me!
I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!

The chinese lady at the cashier is rude. She’s young and ahe got attitude. You should not hire someone like her specially that she’s dealing with customer’s.

Bad service. Drinks is mediocre, too much ice. Staffs have attitudes as like they are forced to work lol

One of bubbleteas were really not sealed off.it leaked everywhere and I felt very uncomfortable to drink it.
Please ensure the quality and hygiene of your products before giving them out to customers or drivers!

Told them to replace Grass Jelly with Coconut Jelly, but removed the pudding instead. And charge me full price for the change of toppings, even though they never did that before.

I had come here sometimes to buy and take out their pearl milk tea. However, I ordered through Uber Eats today and it was disappointing to me. Their pudding was extremely sweet (I think I could get diabetes faster if I still got pudding in this location tho). And it was truly sharp, like it had been put in the fridge for a long time. The crema is kinda salty to me because I tried crema in Queen St W location and I was in love with it. But in York U, I did not feel the same. Overall, it was not a happy night due to this bad experience. I still rate them 4 star cus I also work in customer service industry, I do not want make anything hard for people. I hope they could see my review and make some changes.

What's the point of even owning a SkiptheDishes delivery service if you are just going to reject the order every time in order to force customers into going for your built in delivery services ($7 more).

Changing my review as I had a bad experience. Ordered milk tea with REGULAR ICE and he filled the whole cup with ice. Went back and asked to change it. He had the audacity to say "you can order less ice". Then what is extra ice? Another cup with full ice? ‍️‍️

Got two bubble teas and asked for 30% sugar for each and both tasted wayyyyyy too sweet compared to the last time we ordered. The boba was small and just wasn't the same like from previous orders.

Amazing customer service and great drinks with a wide variety to select from. Definitely recommend checking it out!

The employee was rude and racist with me, I asked to buy waffles with chocolate and he said we don't sell waffles here, then I came again to the restaurant and there was another employee and he asked him for the same thing and he made me what I want

I ordered brown sugar oolong milk tea for the second time here and I’m very disappointed considering I paid almost 8$. Every few second I take a sip of tea, I get burnt crumbs of something (I believe they burnt the tapioca and scraped the pan and that is what it is). I also had to repeat my order 3 times. Very bad experience today. I don't think I'll be coming back. Don't recommend going here if you have expectations.

Their tea is good. I have been there a few times. I like the place because they make drinks with lower sugar levels. Staff are generally polite. There is this kid who works down there sometimes who I feel like is always talking down to me for some reason. Most likely suffering from some degree of Napoleon Complex. I am sure people who go there regulary would know the guy. Short asian kid. Wears a lot jewellery. Always plays Future-esque hip-hop music in the store whenever he's in. Trying way too hard. *cringe*

LOL. Large sugar free regular milk tea with grass jelly was great though.

I love Gong Cha as a brand. I've tried Gong Cha along with many other bubble tea places, but I've always come back to their original Oolong Milk Tea with various different toppings. Their teas just taste superior compared to all other bubble teas out there. They are also experiment with new products all the time and I look forward to supporting their brand for a long time to come.

(Feedback following owner's response and request:) PLEASE instruct your staff to wear masks correctly. The three times I have been there, they are all wearing their masks under their chins which is blatant disregard for public safety and current guidelines. And how is it that not ONE person is wearing gloves while handling food? Kindly instruct them not to blast music so loud that we feel like we were inside a club or bar having to yell out orders. Staff is very often unpleasant and they all look like they really don't want to be here. So many people are desperate for a job and would do it properly, with a smile, and good attitude.

I ordered a Taro Smoothie with tapioca and 30% of the required sugar in the recipe. There were so many options to choose from. Let me tell you.the taro flavour was phenomenal, so natural tasting, not the typical powdered flavour. I could actually taste that there was real taro in the drink. The tapioca pearls were also made quite recently as they were the right texture of being chewy yet soft. Also, I got my order in and made in under 5 mins. Hands down the best bubble tea place that I've been to in a long while.

The customer service is very poor. In the afternoon today, the gentleman at front taking orders is not aware about his own menu. Very cold behaviour and I won’t recommend anyone this bubble tea place.

Half the time your drink will be good and half the time they completely mess it up. I feel awkward having to ask them to fix it every time! 50% sugar does not mean fill up half the cup with sugar. The newer employees that work on weekends particularly need further training.

Our experience was positive at this place. We had peach and mango gong cha, and they were good. We enjoyed our drinks. The ambiance is nice, and the staffs looked friendly. There is a pretty organized seating area although we did not stay there as we were enjoying the evening walk. I would definitely recommend this place.

Took over 25 minutes for a couple of basic milk teas.store was only moderately busy. Several other customers had been waiting for a long time for their drinks, and during my long wait, one order was messed up and two customers were told their order couldn't be made as their toppings had run out (pearls, which for a bubble tea place should be the one thing you don't run out of.) Overall very disappointed with the quality of service here, hopefully this was a one off

If I ask them to help me pick a new flavour they always try to help. I will 100% recommended adding kanten Jelly in your drink! One question what happened to the picture of Park Seo Joon? My fave Korean Actor is MIA

I rarely write a review but today I had tried average quality of bubble tea compare to the brand Gong Cha, which I havent never felt disapointed before.

This Gong Cha location is extremely slow because it is under-staffed. However, it is more of an issue that the employees at this location are very rude at their customers. They give out wrong be orders and when you ask them about it, they are just very very angry at you. Will definately not recommended.

The tapioca smells and tastes like overcooked. Makes me sick.
The green bean milk smoothie taste good though.

I used to be a chatime only kind of person. My friend told me to try this place and I did. Oh boy I was not disappointed! Some of the best bubble tea I've ever had.

Great place on campus for a quick drink

Awful. I order a 30% sugar milk tea, however, I can say the sugar amount is actually 200% compared with other milk tea. It’s way too sweet and it makes me feel nausea for the entire day. I’m feeling so bad right now, my stomach is aching, I guess some ingredients of their milk tea must be expired. Terrible experience, I will never ever visit here again.

A decent place for variety of bubble tea.

The Earl Grey milk tea or Earl Grey 3j milk tea is a must try! It's very good and has a nice subtle flavor.

Sometimes service is slow but usually the slushes are good.
