A great salon filled with talented and lovely Hairstylists/Barbers. Have a few haircuts by Joanna and they turned out great each time.

So welcoming, such an awesome staff. The only place where I could do both my hair and beard trim which makes me feel truly comfortable.

Absolutely amazing. Comfortable, beautiful atmosphere and great barbers. Locally owned and operated which is always great and my boyfriend and I both have had many great experiences. Great choice for gender neutral styling.

Came in for a quick emergency haircut yesterday, and Bronwyn was so kind and fun to talk to, as well as I loved my hair walking out! If I’m ever in Kitchener again and need a hair appointment, 1000% coming back to her!

Been coming here for a couple of years, and have had cuts done by Pete, Lilly and Oliver. All of them have been great cuts, from great barbers. Shout out to Lilly, who always makes me feel right at home!

I recently moved to Kitchener and i searched everywhere for a place that was queer friendly. Wasn’t able to find anything until I stumbled upon Oliver’s social media. Oliver was extremely welcoming and kind, I have always struggled with haircuts as I have a lot of sensory issues but Oliver made everything so easy and relaxing, it was the best salon experience I’ve ever had! Also as a bonus, he is a killer hairdresser and gave me back my lost confidence with a super clean awesome looking haircut!

Kelsey has always taken her time and always makes me feel great all the way through the process. Ever since then, I have always gone to Sydney to get my haircut — and recently dyed.

The space is beautiful, creative, and really inviting to anyone coming in. Anyone you talk to is so friendly and knowledgeable. All the houseplants and the way the sunlight comes in at early morning/dusk is to die for.

Booking is an absolute breeze. All cuts are not by gender, it’s by hair length or facial hair. It’s extremely inclusive and transparent with pricing.
The booking system is found on their website, you wait for them to approve it and you’re ready to go.

During my appointments, always a great conversation going, and if you’re not feeling talking — they’re cool with that! It’s extremely non-judgemental environment.

Sydney has always been extremely knowledgeable and detailed on hair, and makes me always want to come back. My favourite part is when she uses the straight razor on my hair — so satisfying! Not to mention her top-notch personality. I always leave so much happier than I was before I got my haircut.

I recently got colour done and it was great. I showed some pictures, but ultimately gave Sydney creative freedom. (Hair is art) I’m absolutely obsessed with what I got and I couldn’t be happier. It took about three hours as someone who is blonde already, so it’s going to vary based on your hair type.

If you’re wondering, they use Kevin Murphy and Olaplex products (Olaplex is a charge that you add yourself at booking)

If you’re someone who has sensory concerns, consider booking your barber appointments with them on Monday’s. Just you two in the shop and it’ll be less overstimulating

All in all, this has been my go-to salon/barbershop for almost two years now. I will never change. I 100% recommend.

I’m very disappointed by my haircut. When I left the salon it was very styled so I couldn’t tell all the damage that was done with shearing scissors. I have curly hair and now it’s all damaged, tons of fly always and split ends. It looks dead after my haircut. It’s also not layered well l, so I constantly have to put what little hair I have left in a ponytail every day. Very sad: (nothing can fix this but months worth of waiting for it to grow back. I wish shearing scissors were never used on my hair.

Inclusive to all, professional decorum, and incredibly detailed on the cut! I was very happy with the questions and rapport. I especially love the atmosphere they have here, fostering a place for anyone to come and look the way they want. It's a small shop with a huge heart. Thank you!

Sydney is lovely! I stopped in for a quick bang trim for my first visit here, and she treated me like a regular. I am looking forward to visiting her again for a proper cut and color soon.

Passing through town and desperately needed a trim. Lovely shop, really nice set up. Service was great. Price was very reasonable for the quality. They included a wash and light style for what I generally pay for just a cut. It's clear the owners are very passionate about hair and run a great business. Worth the trek away from main street.

Lovely place that is safe and welcoming for LGBTQ+ people. The staff are very friendly and were all wearing masks.
However, a customer came in without a mask while I was there, which made me feel very unsafe. They were not asked to wear a mask. As I am in contact with high risk people daily, I do my best to avoid anti-maskers, and I felt like I didn't really have the option to avoid this person, as I was halfway through a haircut, so I was kind of stuck.

Thank you Johanna for giving me the best haircut of my life! I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted (I have fine, curly hair - 2C/3A) and she helped me realize my hair dreams. Now I feel super fresh and ready for the summer! I would 100% recommend Good Hair Co. Salon and Barbershop, and Johanna is amazing.

I had my haircut with Lilly today. She greeted me by name at the door and made me feel so welcome. Getting a haircut isn’t my favourite thing to do but this experience was so different. We talked about options and Lilly was so encouraging and knew exactly what would suit me. She gave me some tips along the way and I’m so happy with my cut. I encourage those that are nervous about haircuts to consider this salon, felt like a really safe space. Great experience and looking forward to coming back.

I recently visited this shop to get a beard trim. It was my first time here and I had a lovely experience. I was promptly greeted as I entered the shop and the barber, Lilly, knew my name as it was on the reservation I had made.

She introduced herself, including her pronouns and explained how she would operate this appointment. She gladly explained step by step what she was doing and why. She did a great job and was very open to stopping and taking a break whenever the need arose. She also gave me some tips on maintenance could keep it looking good for a while on my own!

There were hot towels involved and it was relaxing! Even a little massage ‍️ Lilly was very nice and had a very calm and professional vibe overall.

Payment was simple on the tablet. Reservations were simple to do online and you can select which barber/stylist and see what's open in their schedule. Would highly recommend!

Just went there today for the first time ever, a friend recommended them to me. Tbh this is the quickest and most beautiful hair cut I've ever gotten in a long time. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are phenomenal, Jo did my hair and honestly I'll be going back to her again when my hair grows out again.

Finally found a place where I feel comfortable, welcomed, and actually get the haircut I want! The staff clearly know what they're doing and are very welcoming, it's more than just a queer safe space. Lily made me feel comfortable and I loved the entire experience. I actually got the haircut I wanted instead of some feminized version I would have gotten elsewhere. 10/10 will always be going here

I CANNOT rave enough about Good Hair Co! I see Lilly regularly for shorter cuts and she is SO wonderful about giving me exactly what I'm looking for and I always come out feeling 10/10, I always feel super comfortable with her which is a big deal for me when it comes to hair. My partner, who has much longer hair, also went to see Kelsey recently and had a lovely experience. The whole vibe is so affirming and queer-friendly, I've recommended it to many friends and every one who's been has echoed my experiences. Other pros: their products smell AMAZING (especially O'Doud's), they have gender-neutral pricing, you can book online, and the shop is SUPER cute.

I will love Lilly forever and ever—she was my barber at a previous shop that she worked at, and she's the most fun ever to be around, so naturally I followed her to Good Hair Co. The vibe inside the shop is awesome, and all the staff are very friendly and seem to get along well with each other. I look forward to every visit and enjoy the laid-back and safe atmosphere of the shop.

My 13-year-old wanted a drastic change in hairstyle from long and thick to much shorter. I looked everywhere to find a salon that didn’t charge men’s haircut prices vs women’s haircut prices. Hair is hair! I found the Good Hair company. They are, as Lily says, not just queer friendly, but queer *celebrated*. And celebrate they did! My little one was so excited to have a haircut that reflects on the outside how they feel in the inside. Lily took her time and great care during this “transformation haircut” as she called it. The shape of the cut is just beautiful and exactly like the photos we brought in for reference. The free counseling session for both of us was welcome too!:) We booked right away for a follow-up appointment with Lily. Oh, and for such a lot of work, they really didn’t charge that much. If I could give 10 stars out of 5 I would. Good job!

Can't say enough good about the shop. Peter and Syd have created an incredibly inviting, accepting and comfortable space. The cuts are always quality and each barber makes sure that you leave looking fresh and happy. The music is always on point too as an added bonus.

I’m growing out a ‘half shaved with a pony’ look, and just needed a quick sideburn repair. Booked an appt.with Peter and he was great! Lots of chatter about shared interests and done in no time! Great job Peter. I’ll def be back when I need to get a cooler look than this ‘in between’ thing!

Cannot recommend this place enough! I've gotten my hair cut by Sydney twice now, and she is the only person who has ever cut and styled my hair such that I'm happy walking out of the salon. I have very thick and wavy hair which can be extremely unruly but Sydney does a great job. In addition to the quality of service, the staff here are extremely kind, fun to talk to, and welcoming, as well as visibly and openly support vulnerable populations. They also follow safety procedures for covid. I could keep going, as I have a million good things to say about this place but to summarize- go here for your next cut, colour, etc. You won't regret it!

Kelsey was amazing! She had a challenge to correct a previous cut (from another salon). I cannot say enough.her techniques are over the top and professional. Her passion and love shows through. I would highly recommend her!

Peter is a fantastic barber whom I have been seeing for the last year now, and I love my fade and bears style every time I go in. He is meticulous and always remembers exactly what style and trim I want without question. He and his wife started up this shop recently, and I'm very happy he has a space to call his own. It's a beautiful shop. Lots of plants and they also have some of their friends working there as well to keep up with demand and I'm sure to have a range of styles to offer. I'm very excited to watch and see as the shop grows and gains traction within the community.
