Goodness Me!

I have a favourite Olive Oil which I have bought at Goodness Me! For a couple of years now. However, since grocery prices have increased, the price of olive oil really went up. The brand of olive oil I buy (Acropolis - 1 Litre) is priced at $44.99 at Goodness Me! And $27.99 at another main grocery store, same size. A $17.00 price difference is way too much! I will have to start more price checking on more products sold at Goodness Me! However, I do like the produce and meat at Goodness Me! And shop there at least 2-3 times per week.

I’m new to barrie and although this place is a little more expensive than some they have amazing products and a very clean store. Perfect place to stop by and grab a few things

I came into the eatery this morning to get a sandwich - rang the bell 3x and even tried calling & no one came. I had to get a floor staff associate to go get an associate and he wasn’t to happy about that and proceeded to ask me if I rang the bell and hit it hard and went to the back. The associate shella came out and I explained that I had been waiting and rung the bell. She didn’t care and just said yeah well I was in the back. Did the transaction, no pleasantries just attitude. My service experience was awful. I will not be returning.

This place has the worst produce! It’s extremely expensive! I rather go to. Natures Emporium! I get it’s organic but the produce is always bad and not fresh!

I love this store! Every time I come here I find something new and exciting to try. They have a great selection of interesting and healthy products, from snacks and drinks to supplements and beauty items. I always end up buying more than I planned to buy, but I don’t regret it. The store is usually not too busy and service is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality health food.

I really don't know how this place stays afloat, especially with Farm Boy 5 minutes away. The veggies always look like they're about to go bad and prices are ridiculously high compared to Farm Boy (Lundberg rice for example). Think Loblaw charges too much? This place goes above and beyond that (in a bad way).

Was quite shocked to find out I had to pay an additional dollar for a tiny sauce of bbq on the side when I had spent 24 dollars on pre made wraps. I'd say it's all quite overpriced.

I'm a regular Customer at this store and wanted to get some vitamins for my whole family while we are in quarantine. I called customer service explaining my situation, asking if they could make an exception just so I could place an order and do curbside pickup on the same day so I don't have to go in the store and keep spreading the virus. They said no, it's not possible to pickup on the same day. I even asked if I could just order 3 products over the phone and get them put aside so I could just pickup and they still refused. So sad that even at these difficult times they are not flexible enough. I moved to Barrie a few months ago and have been a regular customer (at least once per week). I guess no more shopping there!

This place is fantastic.
Called looking for a product. Staff was very knowledgeable and directed me right where items i was looking for. Uric clense for gout.
The prices are amazing. I saved $35 on that one item!
Had a look around. The store is stocked with some great items. Had my eye on a cast iron skillet.

Extreme mark up's on their products. But 1 star for keeping the grass fed butter and goodfats bars at a normal price. Those are the only two things I'll buy there, only if I run out and need them in the last minute. I felt extremely angry when I went to another health food store and seen the exact same brand PQQ vitamins for 10 dollars less and the St. Francis MCT for 12 dollars cheaper. Shoppers BEWARE of what you pay for items there.

EDIT: I take that star back they raised the price on the butter and good fats.

This store is my absolute favourite! I have been shopping at Goodness Me since they opened and every experience has been amazing. There is always plenty of selection, the prices are always great and the staff is always wonderful. Prior to covid, when the eatery was open, my son and I enjoyed many lunches together as I always knew the options offered were clean and healthy. The atmosphere has always been fantastic! I also truly love how management really tries to make sure their products are clean. I have continuously shopped here throughout the pandemic and never once felt unsafe. I would give this store many more stars if I could! Thank you for always providing me and my family the healthiest options possible!

I came here to entertain myself with all of the negative reviews because individuals seem to take it extremely personally when other individuals decide not to wear a "face covering". 10/10. Would visit again.

This is the best natural food store out there. The people complaining about some people not having masks must not know what these type of grocery store stand for. Giving 1 star for the mask mandate is plain ridiculous. Stay home if you have so much fear.

A really amazing store with a great selection of products but I just don’t feel safe going there anymore. I counted 7 shoppers without masks on while inside the store.

I've only had positive experiences here. The first time I came in I picked up Vitamin D that was shelved wrong at a lower price. When I questioned it at the cash the manager was called and honoured the price even though it was a significant $10 less. I've been a regular since. I really appreciate the service, I find the people working there very kind and helpful, and I love the products. The organic lettuce mix is always the freshest around.

I was planning on visiting your store this weekend to pick up a few things. However, in light of the extensive number of complaints of unmasked customers and staff that are permitted in your store (in combination with the ridiculous responses that you give to their valid complaints), I’ve changed my mind and will find my products elsewhere. SMH.

Good products in this store, and it is the reason why I've come in more than once. However, we have had poor experiences with staff. As other reviews have mentioned, the cashiers are often rude and dismissive. It is one thing if this was a once in a while occurrence, but this has happened during each visit. It gets harder to justify a trip over each time. Please revisit your hiring or training of staff as there is such great potential to have a strong sense of community amongst staff and customers at this store.

I love how only pesticide free produce is sold. So many organic products that are hard to find elsewhere. Thank you for providing such healthy options.

I always look forward to doing my shopping here…great products, nice clean store, and very friendly staff. Last time the cashier walked me to my car with an umbrella because it started raining. They have very high standards for everything.

I have exclusively shopped at Goodness Me Barrie for 2 years specifically because of how knowledgeable, kind and friendly their employees are. They also have amazing customer service! The staff have been working tirelessly through this pandemic and are always so patient! Appreciate you all!

Long time loyal Goodness Me customer. Love the store, the products and the staff. Unfortunately the current policy to allow people in without a mask is ridiculous. This is not about politics. This is about extending a common courtesy to your fellow citizens during a pandemic. Why should one person be allowed to make the other 25 customers and staff feel totally uncomfortable? And, if you have a legitimate reason to not wear a mask, curb side pickup is available.

I was looking for a few things, 30 mins in I find someone to ask. Then I get the rudest response with a “why do you need that”. Needless to say left my cart in place, won’t be back, won’t recommend.

My daughter recently decided to start eating more ethically. We knew about Goodness Me but had never been. She went on her own (because it's safer) and although we loved the products that she purchased, we have sworn to never return. Our safety is extremely important to us. We both work with vulnerable populations and have strived to use good sense for an entire year with regard to keeping ourselves safe. How is it that in this store, staff are not forced to wear proper PPE? Yours is a store that promotes healthier eating for "Goodness" sake! Your standard mechanical answer addresses that you offer curbside pickup for those that cannot wear a mask but what about your employees? If people cannot wear a mask, they have the option of wearing a shield. If they cannot even wear a shield then many businesses provide other options to assist such as delivery, curbside service, etc. If it's a staff member who cannot wear a mask or shield, then a transfer of duties is necessary - you cannot put your customers at risk. Do you not care about your client's health? So disappointing! So irresponsible!

UPDATE: In response to your recent reply below, how is allowing staff to work in your store without masks keeping anyone safe? Those staff are in the store for hours each day handling doorknobs, baskets, and every product you carry, When your customers and other staff arrive, they are then exposed and vulnerable to any viruses that may have been spread. This issue is not about those who choose not to wear a mask. It's about those who are exposed due to other's carelessness. And you have had 14 months to work this out. Implementing safety protocol should be routine by now.

I love this store and I shop here every Sunday. Last week Brittney helped me find a few supplements that are working extremely well for my family. The staff are always helpful and the store is nicely organized. I often recommend this store to my friends and family.

I shop there all the time but for my safety and those in my household, I will no longer support the business. Not only was a cashier not wearing a mask but I noticed two other customers without masks and staff did nothing about it. I am not sure why there was no enforcement but it made me very uncomfortable especially now when the numbers are so high and with the recent outbreak in Barrie. Unhealthy choices for a health foods store!

Tell me why a manager and a few employees were NOT wearing their masks while Also allowing shoppers to be mask free.
This is distasteful and unacceptable.

I have had family members visit the store twice in the last few months. There is no mask policy enforced and last visit no hand sanitizer. It was either out or not working. Very disappointing being a Health Food Store.

Unfortunately it was my last shopping day today at my loved and favourite store Goodness me, i had a bad experience with a customer service policy. I was not lucky when I bought a damaged product from the manufacturer and they have an unfortunate policy rule that they do not to not take back a product if it's open. After a half and hour fight and stress from both sides in the middle of a pandemic, assistant manager and me. We found a solution and got my money back, but it not a point. Why as a loyal customer I have to fight for my rights. Yes it was open but I could not see it was damaged at the moment of purchase because of the packaging. Please if you want to have loyal customers, do the best you can to commodate for their concernces and don't blame them for something they did not do, that they are simply addressing a manufacturers fault.

I used to enjoy shopping at Goodness Me until yesterday. I was standing in the checkout line when I noticed an unmasked cashier and unmasked customer laughing and carrying on. There were 6 of us standing in line spanning 3 check outs. I felt very uncomfortable in this situation as it was quite shocking. I noticed all the other customers either changing lanes or keeping a 20 ft distance waiting for this customer to leave. I was completely surprised that 9 months into this pandemic that this was happening. What I think is so disappointing is that Goodness Me appears to not value the majority of its customers or employees enough to protect them. I have supported Goodness Me from their store in Burlington and since they opened in Barrie but now I will make a safety choice for myself as I no longer have confidence in the management of this business and will no longer shop here. I make the assumption that medical issues is the reason here, but there are alternative options to offer these people so they can get their groceries without putting the majority of the customers and employees at risk.

Very disappointed to see multiple customers unmasked during my visit today and clearly no enforcement. This is the first place I have been to in 9 months to see this happen and I am absolutely shocked. Customers and staff should be expected to be following the rules and mask up.
I will not be returning anytime soon.

Goodness Me has been my favourite for a while. Top quality food, freshest vegetables and fruit, a great selection of health products. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I'm sad that their cafeteria is closed now, I enjoyed having coffee or lunch there. Great quality food, feels like it's home-made

We had a great experience with Brittany (in training). She spent the time helping us and even went to a colleague to confirm additional information she wanted to share with us. I love Goodness Me - great selection and even better service. However, I will not be returning whole Covid is still a problem. I have visited the store three times since masks were made mandatory and always encounter multiple shoppers without masks. I know its hard to control but other stores seem to be managing and ensuring a safe space to shop. Its a shame because I miss the vegan chocolate cake!

Absolutely loved this place! So many healthy and delicious things to eat.

They offer everything from pre-made foods, pre-packaged foods, vitamins and supplements, makeup, and healthy drinks of all kinds.

I won't hesitate to return when I am in the area again!

This store is putting me at risk. Today they served a client who flaunted the mask obligation, laughed and spewed spit while at the cash in front of me. When the cashier was asked why they didn't tell the client " no mask, no service", I was told they didn't want to upset anyone. Well I'm upset and no longer will be their customer

Great store, with many great options. Great management, great staff, great quality foods. They also have a very good eatery section with a hot lunch buffet.

I've never had a poor experience before, but today I bought samosas from the fridge section and they were frozen in the middle! I thought Goodness Me made everything fresh, and didn't use defrosted product? I could be wrong but I'm pretty disappointed as this was my first visit since the Covid shutdown.

I find it strange that a health food store doesnt practise safety measures as good as costco.
Employees do not wear masks, and when I asked a manager on friday evening, he stated that head office doesnt require it. Also, no cover over the debit machine like the dog food store and Costco. Now the employees have changed as well. Attitude is on the rise! Time to clean up your act and help protect each other!

I just love the smell when I walk in the door and the knowledgeable, helpful staff is right there to guide me as I walk through the isles.
The store design and layout makes it very easy to find the items your craving and never too crowded.
The classes that are available are very informative and fun to join. If your Vegan, Vegetarian or have food intolerances this is your go to store in Barrie.
The selection of healthy items are unparalleled in the area and always new items arriving.
The prices are sometimes a little steep but the quality is exceptional.
The healthy food deli style store at the back has some great treats and a healthy alternative to fast food.
This place is wonderful and I highly recommend it to my friends and family.

I bought vitamins and realized adter 2 days I couldn't take them anymore.they made me very I'll. When I asked to take the $45 bottle back with reciept after 2 days you said no.seriously that is poor customer service I will no longer give you my buisness.

A great alternative to the usual grocery store chains. Reminds me of Organic Garage in Thornhill where I used to live. Lots of great organic options for produce, dairy, meat and snacks. I really like their salad bar, healthy delicious dishes when you're in a hurry or can't be bothered to cook

Goodness Me! Is great because it offers a variety of natural products but if you don't mind waiting, you can get a variety of their products online for a fraction of the price.

Wow! 20cents for a plastic bag here! The Plastic Association of Canada suggests each bag costs 2.5 cents at most. No one likes to be nickel-and-dimed!

My favorite place to eat in simcoe county. Eat great food and buy groceries all at once there, the prices are reasonable and there plenty of vegan cooked and raw options at the restaurant. I like the food by weight salad bar and the hot foods are awesome. Love the samosas. They have lots of gourmet raw options.

So happy to have this store in Barrie. We visit at least once a week to stock up on dairy free food that we haven't found elsewhere. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the fresh produce and baked goods is great. I appreciate that they label everything they serve at the salad bar and hot counter. Staff are also very knowledgable and approachable. The store itself is clean and welcoming and overall it's a nice relaxing place to shop.

Really disappointed with the condition of the celery yesterday here: (The quality of the celery is consistently poor here. It wouldn't have been edible many days ago, and shouldn't be offered at all. I am considering reporting this store if this is what I see in the future to Health Canada. If you want to see what good quality celery, (especially considering the prices today) looks like, take a short trip to Zehrs, or Loblaws. You are supposedly the "health food" store, better pull up your socks, I know who to contact

Service was good. Food was hot and tasty. Harvey's really needs to lessen the amount of single use plastics.not even a recycling bin onsite. Won't be back.
