Can't say enough positive things about the Team, especially our experience with Dr. Dogar, - from start to finish we were treated very well and their services were reasonably priced.

Our daughter's dachshund Fluffy was having a difficult pregnancy and had only birthed 3 out of 4 pups. We called and Dr. Dogar said to bring her over right away. A life saving surgery was performed within several hours.

This was refeshing after a NIGHTMARE experience overnight at a Dundurn vetrinarian emergency clinic, (don't go there btw!) that seemed more interested in being all about the fees when you were on the spot.

Again, you won't go wrong bringing your beloved furry and feathered family members here.

Very quick to get an appointment for my cat and dog. Dog’s eye condition explained in detail along with medication. Healed quickly with no issues. Cat apt in and out very fast, dog had to wait in the room for a longer time. Overall, good experience

10/10 animal hospital, they do very comprehensive assessments, explain all the tests and treatments to you and offer scratchpay to assist with the fees! I have taken my kitty here a couple times and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thanks for all the good work!

Unfortunately I had to bring my Cat in for end of life. The staff and dr were amazing compassionate. They handled my cat with the at most care. They explained everything that was happening and what to expect. I was very comfortable coming here. They let me spend as much time with my buddy as I needed. It was a extremely hard day for my family. And the staff made this the best experience that we could have.thank you governors hospital for helping me through the difficult time.

This was my first time bringing my Guinea pig Bowie there, and he had a mammary tumour removed. The team was absolutely amazing. So informative, kind, compassionate, and they did a wonderful job with Bowie. He is recovering so well! Thank you so much Governors Road Animal Hospital team!

I should have left a review a long time ago. My very frightened feral pup was spayed at the clinic in May 2022. She’s from as far North in Ontario as you can go, not used to humans. Today she returned a year later for vaccines and blood work. She was still frightened but the staff were so kind, she left the clinic a happy dog. Also, our old husky had reached the end of his earthly life last November. He gently left us with the help of Dr Dogar. We brought him home to lay to rest, no pressure to do otherwise. Dr Dogar is a genuinely kind man and veterinarian. The staff are patient and understanding with all care needs. Cost is no more than other clinics. I’m lucky to have them nearby.

Our family brought our dog into the clinic as they were the only vet open and available to take our Mysty and help her at the end of her life. They were kind and walked us through each step of the process and gave us time to be with her before proceeding. And most importantly they allowed me to stay with her until the very end and hold her paw for the whole process. Unfortunately, the whole time they referred to her by Mitzy. It bothered me but I told myself it’s no big deal. Then when I left the room to give my kids a moment with her I noticed it spelled wrong on the exam room door, so I mentioned it to the lady at the desk and she was very apologetic. However, just over two weeks later we received a card in the mail signed by the full staff and over and over they wrote Mitzy… to me this is such a small thing they could have done to make me feel they cared for my pet and instead it made me cry and hurt just a bit more, not that much can hurt more then losing your beloved fur baby. Had I not said something there it would have been on me but I did and that is why I don’t understand how such a small issue was not remedied, especially when the staff I told most likely signed the card.: (

I've been bringing my two cats, Sugar and Holly, to Governors Road Animal Hospital since I moved into my apartment April 2021. I've always been thoroughly impressed by the level of care and thoroughness the two doctors, and all the staff, exhibit. I really like that the vets explain what they're doing during a full-body examination, speak out loud about what they notice, and thoroughly explain every single test result.

Unfortunately, one week ago, my one cat Sugar had a seizure unexpectedly, and I immediately rushed her to the vet. They immediately took her in to start running diagnostics and prepare incase she had another seizure. Every single tech was so reassuring and kind. When her diagnostic results came back, the vet explained everything to me, and told me what else we could do and let me know the costs upfront and what next steps could be.

Ultimately, I decided to put her down. It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my entire life, and I was wishing the vet would have brought it up first as an option, so I wouldn't have to. But I'm glad they didn't - I'm glad it was entirely my own decision to put her down and not influenced by anyone else. When I did mention it, I was meant with nothing but kindness and reassurance that I had made the best decision possible for me and Sugar. They let me have a lot of time with her and were so patient with me. The entire staff showed so much empathy and gentleness towards me, even when I came back a few days later to pick up her remains and urn. They took her paw print for me, as well.

Even in this incredibly difficult time, I am so grateful for the expertise, compassion, and warmth shown to me by every single person I've encountered at Governors Road Animal Hospital. Thank you, for making the hardest day of my life a little bit easier.

Another amazing visit to our favourite veterinarian team! Our boys look forward to seeing them. We do too. Very compassionate, and highly skilled. Quite likely the best we’ve seen in this field.

One of the best clinics I've had to visit with my Bengal and miniature Schnauzer. Extremely friendly staff all around from the reception, techs to doctors. They take the time to listen, provide you with all the steps they will take with your beloved pet. Cleanliness of the clinic is also top notch.

I want to express my whole gratitude for the staff. They agreed to see my cat Tiberius during an emergency when no one else could. Although the outcome was grim, we are thankful for your prompt response, kindness and sympathy. I am not proud of myself for not being able to express this in person but I wish the staff at Governors Road Animal Hospital all the best. I can say, with certainty that they do care about your beloved pets.

The place is clean, beautiful, aesthetically pleasing which helps reduce stress when there is a pet emergency. The staff is professional, compassionate and Covid-conscious to this day. Even the vet prescription dog food which has changed our dogs for the better is affordable, is actually cheaper than a pet store. Amazing place, exceptional service.

I had to come here twice for an emergency on Sunday. The staff was so caring, kind and empathetic. The vet was the same. I have been recommending this clinic to all of my friends. I cannot say enough good things.

Horrible support staff. Save yourself the headache, go somewhere else! Support staff is chaotic and disorganized. I had to ask two people for my pet. She said she thought someone else had brought it out. Upon booking a recheck on my pet, I inquired how much the appt would be and she replied that 'rechecks are no charge. '

Thank you to all the amazing staff at this clinic for treating my gerbil with care and compassion during his last moments. They got me in as a new client immediately and the doctor was extremely thorough, caring, and compassionate. I cannot reccommend this clinic enough if you have pocket pets, I had no issues whatsoever and I appreciate all the effort and information my gerbil and I were given. The doctors and staff at Governors Road Animal Hospital went above and beyond when our Penny got all cut up and fractured her kneecap on Easter Sunday. They stayed open late to stitch her up and set her on the road to recovery. They have been extremely helpful in getting us referrals with specialists as she continues her rehabilitation. I honestly don't know what we would have done if they were not there to help us that day. Our biggest Thank You.

Not one to post negative comments on any platform but my pup wasn’t feeling well over Easter weekend with bowel issues. Went to the clinic twice and basically got turned away without seeing my dog after explaining his symptoms to two different support staff. His condition worsened and I went back yesterday (Easter Monday) and call/rang the bell with no answer while waiting outside. Jokers condition got worse but we were able to find another clinic that was fully booked yet accepted him anyways in Ancaster as they knew his condition wasn’t great. Imagine if you were able to see him earlier as you may have been able to help him sooner. Joker is on the mend now but I wouldn’t recommend this vet clinic at all unfortunately. Really sad how they treated my dog, awful service, experience and honestly felt uncomfortable. No suggestions or anything. Basically said to go somewhere else. Luckily joker is starting to feel better today all thanks to the vet clinic in Ancaster.

This place is absolutely phenomenal, super compassionate and treated my Feather? Baby with the best care ever.
Dr. Badar was very informative and assessed my lil guy and sent me home with meds for my baby.
I have sooo much more nice things to say about Dr. Badar and his amazing staff but definitely a place to bring your pet and know they are in good loving hands.

Absolute 5 star clinic. I'm so impressed and will be making this veterinary clinic my permanent clinic.

My 14 year old cat's kidneys went on her (again) over the weekend (hid and stopped eating and drinking) as she had been overmedicated with Metacam in early 2021 by another vet hospital in Dundas following an acute injury. I called around early on a cold Sunday morn unable to get her seen even at Hamilton or Burlington emeg as they were swamped. Governors Road Animal hospital offered to see her in an hour at 10am and after tests and xrays I opted to end her suffering. Dr. Farooq and his staff were remarkably compassionate and I couldn't have asked for a better end of life experience for my furry friend 'Zola' of 14 years.the examination table was against the wall (rather than in the middle of the room) and had a fleece blanket on it and she was bundled nice and warm.she wasn't stressed or distressed and it was a nice quiet warm environment to say goodbye in.when I decide to get another cat I will definitely make Dr. Farooq my vet of choice.thank you Dr. Farooq and your kind vet assistant.you both really made a good impression on me at a bad time.thank you again!

I had to bring my Cat in last minute on a Sunday and they were able to look at him and give X-rays. I appreciate the last minute accommodation since it was an emergency.

Ahh-mazing experience with the veterinarian, hes willing to explain every details in piece of paper since I'm deaf customer that brought my sick ferret in. Highly recommend to this clinic to any ferret owner.

I just had my 8mo pup vaccinated here and the staff were absolutely excellent from start to finish! Very clean and comfortable space, knowledgable and patient staff, and my dog was far less nervous than she was at previous vets. I highly reccomend and will be coming back here next time ️

Saved my cat's life. Cannot express how grateful I am to the team for taking care of my little guy. They did emergency surgery afterhours and stayed til 1 am to find him an animal hospital to recover in. Amazing people

We had a serious emergency with one of our dogs. We had a hard time getting in somewhere but luckily governors road hospital was able to take us. I'm glad they did because we found our new regular vet. We have dealt with both Dr. Dogar and Dr Farooq and they are both amazing and professional. With our dogs specific issues we are there to see Dr. Doger once a week there is never a long wait like some vets (beatties). You always get to see one of the same two vets so they actually get to know you and your pet. Dr. Dogar takes the time to explain what your options are and educates you on the situation. It was a dire situation for us, there is no one shoe fits all solution. They there to help you to the best of their abilities. You can email them pics or videos if something is going on and they respond almost instantly and they call if its serious. We will continue to come here with all our animals.

I took my dog in for ear infection on multiple occasions as he has chronic ear infections and I'm trying to get it under control.
He's been treated 4 times with the same antibiotic that didn't work all 4 times also a dripper type antibiotic that didn't work either.
The last time I took him in and they yet again treated with the same antibiotic and never did a culture for his ear to check for yeast, bacteria or allergies? That's the strangest thing I have heard from a Vet when it comes to having a dog brought in for an ear infection.
The culture would have been the first thing on the list? Now having to find a new vet and take King to get actual care for his ear, a vet that wants to fix the problem at least get down to the bottom of it.

Thankful how quickly they were able to see my cat and no wait once we got there but wish the vet we seen was more caring during the appointment. Just kept pulling on her limbs aggressively to cut her nails (and gave up and left some then still charged me) instead of asking for a second person to come in and use a blanket. Felt like he was a bit rough and could have been more gentle when checking her throat and eats etc. If your looking for a fast visit without paying the fee at vet emerge I would suggest here but maybe not for a regular annually vet visit.

Love how welcoming they were got my bunny in for her first visit and they were amazing highly recommended and amazing prices

My dog loves this vet for some reason, he walks in all confident, takes treats from the staff, let’s them get near him and is able to be unmuzzled.idk what it is, but he seems content here.

Had my first pet ever in today to visit Dr. Farooq. Old dog.not going to make it much longer. Sad day. Dr Farooq was supremely professional and clear and confident in his diagnosis. I had confidence leaving the office that this was the right decision. It is extremely difficult to let a family member go. Dr Farooq gave me piece of mind.

Our regular vet and also a urgent care clinic were unable to see our two year old dog on the weekend when she caught what we thought was kennel cough from a neighbourhood dog buddy. We have never experienced this with any of our other dogs so were quite concerned when she was coughing up pools of bile and after spending half the day waiting to get help we were turned away. Through the night she kept me up coughing so I went on the computer and looked for the highest rating on local vets. I then emailed the top rating, Governor's Animal Hospital and in the morning immediately upon opening they called and offered to see her if I dropped her off. Shortly after Doctor Faroq called and relayed his entire exam to me and told me the medication and my dog were ready to pick up. A week has gone by and Cookie is recovering very well and I have these kind and attentive people at Governor's Animal Hospital to thank. Thank you Doctor Faroq and Brooke and Meghan]. You are now our trusted caregivers for our beloved Cookie.

I credit the staff at Governor’s Road Animal Hospital for helping me save my dog, thanks to Dr. Badar’s insightful diagnosis along with his referral to the 24/7 Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital; we were able to help my dog Chewie and treat him for HGE which could have been fatal. Dr. Badar took his time to address each and every one of our concerns. He further elaborated the implications Chewie was facing and gave us his best recommendation for a course of action. The vet techs on site; Amanda and Ashley were absolutely pleasant and did a great job of explaining the what his medications were for and how to administer it.

In the 5 years I have raised my dog, I have never had the pleasure of working with such a kinda, knowledgeable, and compassionate veterinary team. I would recommend that anyone within a reasonable distance from GRAH consider taking their animal there for medical assistance.

The are amazing. They made me feel important and heard and were wonderful with dog. They never rushed me and they are incredibly thorough. Switching to Governors road animal hospital was one of the best decisions we ever made for our girl. Their heart and soul goes into helping each animal.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

We had a mother goat who was labouring and looked like she was in trouble. Trying to find a vet that would see a goat was a challenge but when we called Governors Road Animal Hospital and they told us to bring her in right away. They stayed after hours to perform a c section and even called us in the morning to see how she was doing. We couldn`t have asked for more compassionate care for our June. Thank you!

Just popped into this new veterinary clinic and had a personal tour. Loved everything I saw including state of the art equipment. Receptionist is lovely and the Dr. I met was personable and very caring. I believe they are determined to provide a level of care you might not find anywhere else nearby. I intend to give them a try.

We took our dog Penny here on Christmas eve as the closest emergency hospitals were at capacity and could not see us. Penny was diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Dogar was so compassionate, kind and supportive. We are so grateful this wonderful team was there for us during a difficult time. Dr. Dogar's follow up was fantastic and he even called us Christmas day to check in. We would highly recommend Dr. Dogar and his wonderful team to care for your pets. My dog experienced a medical emergency last month, and as these things often occur, it was after hours of my regular vet, and I was forced to call the emergency veterinary clinic. They informed me that there would be a 2-4 hour wait, and that I could not remain with my dog who is anxious and nervous by nature. I took a chance and called the new veterinary clinic, and Dr. Dogar, who took me in immediately. His bedside manner, his staff, and his his professionalism were top notch, and my dog's issue was handled readily.
Dr. Dogar, days after the fact, has been extraordinarily proactive in keeping up with my dog's progress and helping me with other dog related issues. Everything about my experience with Dr. Dogar, and his new clinic have been absolutely above and beyond the call of duty, and I would readily and enthusiastically recommend him to any one in need of veterinary assistance.

I took my dog Ozzie to see Dr. Dogar at this clinic and was so impressed at the compassion of both him and his staff. Ozzie had an ulcer on his eye and Dr. Dogar explained exactly how they would treat it. We had a regiment of drops and regular treatment at the clinic I am happy say Ozzie is doing well. Dr. Dogar would call me at home to see how Ozzie was doing, he researched eye ulcers and kept me updated. I also found their pricing very reasonable and because we had to go in so often for treatment, they gave me a break on their fees. I would highly recommend them.

Dropped in to register our dog. Had a nice tour of a brand new facility and met one of the vets. Nice to have a local clinic. Looks like a friendly place for our pets.

Dr. Dogar is a rare find and truly passionate about helping animals. Our family feels blessed to have crossed paths with him. We were feeling completely defeated. Our dog tore his ligament and our family vet of 7 years treated us like a number. Did unnecessary tests and referred us to a surgeon that wanted to charge us thousands to do a surgery. Making us believe it was the only option. Unable to afford it we were sick to our stomach. I started calling vets for second opinions and came across Dr Dogar who over the phone explained all our options. In the mean time his staff called hospitals to get quotes for me including University of Guelph. Dr. Dogar was the only vet that allowed us to come in his office and showed us how to see a full tear. Together we decided that a less expensive surgery would work just fine for our dog that we could afford. He went the extra mile for us to find an amazing Dr.who performed the surgery within the week.

Dr. Dogar has followed up with us everyday, ensuring that Stanley is doing the right physio exercises and answering all our questions with instant responses. We have switched vets and he will be our dogs caregiver moving forward.

Took my dog to this hospital to get him neutered and to get a corn removed from his foot. Took him to many other vets before, most of whom did not even know what the corn was. This doctor diagnosed and treated it immediately. I live in the city with dozens of animal hospitals within just a few km of my house but after coming here, I would never again compromise on the amount of genuine care and concern the doctors here show for pets. Money is not their focus, your pet is put first - which is a lot more than I can say for most vets. Go here once and you'll never want any other vet to see your dog again. The experience will speak for itself!

Five stars if I could give 10 we would. Excellent customer service. Great vetranarian Dr. Dogar, is a nice vet around animals. Answered all questions and explained all treatment available. He even followed up via email.

The office is really clean and new and the receptionist was extremely friendly and personable. Dr Dogar was fantastic with my two nervous senior dogs. He was very meticulous and thorough with their exam and vaccines. I hope this practice begins to grow even more because the service they are providing is really great! Cost is appropriate and comparable to other vets. Dr Dogar even gave us his personal email and said we could email him any time we needed to. Very pleased with our experience.

My beloved dog started coughing today and being the age she is I didn’t want to go through the day without her getting examined and luckily, despite it being a Sunday and prompted by the positive reviews, I decided to bring her to GRAH. The doctor was nothing short of amazing and is everything I could hope for in a vet: caring, compassionate and most important of all he was willing to explain to me what he was doing during the exam and why he came to the conclusions he came to. Also the staff there were all very friendly, polite and equally as caring. GRAH will definitely be the place I recommend to friends and family going forward!

I know one of their lovely receptionists from past work experience and had mentioned to her last week that one of my bunnies wasn't well. Even though Governor's Road wasn't opening until this week, she was in constant communication with Dr. Badar Farooq about my bunny's health. Because of this, Dr. Badar immediately gained my trust in handling my Poe's case. However, knowing they weren't open until Monday, I had to do lots of searching and calling to find elsewhere that could see Poe over the weekend - as the issues were with her teeth, which had caused extreme inappetence and oral discomfort. I wasn't having any luck finding someone that would do the dental on such short notice, let alone a doctor I felt comfortable with. Dr. Badar Farooq and his wonderful business partner, Dr. Ghulam Dogar offered to do Poe's dental, on Sunday a day before the clinic even opened their doors! They heard all of my concerns regarding Poe, through their receptionist Jaime, and handled us both with such kindness and compassion. I could tell both look at each and every one of their patients as their own companions.

While there at the clinic, Dr. Badar and Dr. Dogar explained everything to me in a way that I would understand with limited medical knowledge. I was also given a tour after Poe was well taken care of and even started eating on her own again. You can tell these Doctors truly thought of their patients and staff every step of the way in establishing this clinic. It's an hour and a half drive for me, I have 9 pets and will 110% be bringing each of them to Governor's for all of their vet care. I don't even feel like my review does enough justice in expressing how amazing of an atmosphere it is in there because of the Doctors and staff - you'll just have to see for yourself!

And what I love the absolute most, and can pretty well guarantee you won't find elsewhere, is that the appointment isn't over when you leave with your beloved pet. The doctors will check in via email and are quick to respond. I always felt so alone when one of my fur babies aren't well, but Dr. Badar and Dr. Dogar really made me feel how important Poe's health and recovery is to them

I know many read reviews to get an idea on pricing - they are extremely reasonable. I received my invoice before leaving and was shocked. This was one time I actually really wanted to pay more. Veterinary services for exotics and birds are hard to find and often cost more than those for cats and dogs. I highly, highly suggest bringing your fur family to Governor's Road if you want your babies in the best, most caring hands ️

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Farooq. He checked out my Great Dane for an issue we have been struggling with since February. He was very thorough with his exam and explained everything he was doing and what he discovered. The staff and Dr. Farooq were friendly and genuinely love and care for animals. They made my girl feel very welcome. I will be transferring all my animals to their clinic. Very good first impression. Our town is lucky to have them here.

I can’t say how thankful I am to the staff at the Governor’s Road Animal Hospital. I spent time predominantly with Dr. Farooq, but the entire staff was incredibly compassionate, transparent and knowledgeable. They walked me through every step of the process before they started, and outlined what my bill would be as well (It was extremely reasonable given that it was an emergency case). They even went so far as to give me information on what was necessary and what would be more of a “nice to have” test in the case that I was budget conscious.

Dr. Farooq is very knowledgeable and intentionally communicated what each of the results of my dog’s blood test were. I left feeling relieved and more confident in my ability to monitor my dog for potential side effects. They also have treats in literally every room, and have excellent handling skills when it comes to more difficult dogs (as mine is).

I could literally praise them all day - but you should take your pet here because the staff are incredible and their prices are beyond reasonable!
