Zero stars if possible, horrible staff who love talking down to others and treat your time as if its garbage. They bad mouth the patient right in front of them. Reception staff should have their positions terminated. A heavily pregnant mother walked in while I was checking in asking for aid and the she was told to sit and wait. When the doors were closed, the staff said they didn't do babies. What healthcare professional should be allowed to say that? Absolutely avoid this hospital at all costs, especially soon to be mothers.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is a living nightmare, no matter what part of the hospital you end up in.

Arrived at 23: 00 and still waiting. 6 Hours, no doctor. They leave you 6 + hours in excruciating pain and nohody cares

I'm a caregiver for a man who has recently received a double lung transplant. We have attended GRH several times since transplant for follow up treatments. From the moment we walked through the front door we have been treated with the utmost respect. Every volunteer and staff member have been welcoming, caring and compassionate. The bedside manner of all the medical professionals has been incredibly calming and helpful in reducing all anxiety and nervousness. Before we leave the hospital, they insure we are fully informed as to what they have done and our responsibilities as well as what we should do if we have any concerns once we get home.

Was discharged from st marys hospital with blood pressure 190/123 numbness and tingling entire left side of body neck down.

Was told a referral would be made to grh stroke clinic.

Went home pain and numbness progressively got worse.
Blood pressure readings every 20 min were:

Grh wait time was over 9 hrs. Was told by nurse no beds available. And what do I want them to do? Very rude staff

The hospital doesn’t have a good system. I gave my covid test and I received a call that I got negative test result.they gave me number where I can call to get my test results proof. I called more than 50 times no one picks the call. Its such a bad system over there.

Dr. Kothari has changed our life by helping our special needs son to live better and achieve more. He is very knowledgeable and awesome, so very grateful for him.

Triage system is absolutely terrible. They should have a prioritizing system, you cannot have somebody with a fractured bone, in excruciating pains, wait 5 hrs just to be registered in the ER. An absolute disgrace.

Was their for 3 hours got in fast an quick but very disappointed as couldn't access the food court from emergency or anywhere really unless you walked around an in order to walk around I had to go onto the main side walk by the road as their is no ramps to go to food court an 3 stair cases to choose form instead then I got to the food court at 7: 30pm they already were closed but have signs everywhere that it is open till 9pm

I brought my 3 year old with trauma to her eye and I'm so disappointed. Telehealth advised me to be seen in no longer then 3 hours incase of infection of cut on the eye that could lead to my daughter loosing her vision. I checked her in at 8pm at night and left at 6am to go somewhere else and no doctor or nurse even looked at her. Our health care system here in KW is failing the citizens of Canada. We may as well live in a developing country that has no health care because that's the quality we receive here. It's an embarrassment. The system is so defunded and the staff there is so short that it's the worst I've ever seen in all of my life. If you need care or have an emergency I would not recommend Grand River.

You'll be labeled at belligerent, and not get any help.

You should also not go to the mental health area if you are Trans.
All the nurses are great, but the doctors purposefully misunderstood you and dead name you.

After being corrected.

They talk over you, don't let you finish your sentence, and get mad at you when you try to explain your side further.

Child birth department staff who worked there Thursday Nov 17 through Saturday November 19th are nice, respectful and knowledgeable.the C-Section head doctor, the nurses the anesthesiologist and all the other staff were amazing and made our experience with the birth of our new baby to be unforgettable. Thank you GRH.thumps up

Been there once for the emergence. The waiting time is not ideal. However thank you doctors and nurses for the hard work!

I had day surgery yesterday oct 26
Every one of staff who had contact with me went above & beyond to take care of me. The compassion, care, decency was amazing. I wish I could contact the head of day surgery to tell them.

Might as well just stay at home unless you have 4 -5 hours to wait in emergency before you even make it past the first room.
What a joke this place is. My 13 month old vomited in the waiting room multiple times and after 4 hours still nothing. I wish I was able to give zero stars. You could die in the waiting room and no one would notice. Go elsewhere.

I want to acknowledge the best care I received by the nurses on the 6th floor inpatient surgery, I had lower back surgery and needed a lot of help, the nurses went above and beyond. I am so grateful to my nurses Willow, Tonisha, Julie, Olivia, Marselia Winnie, Katelyn, Petra, Jessica, Camille, Demi, Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you do for the patients️

ER waiting time is way too long to even be an ER. Waited 7 hours with a friend with chest pains and no service yet. Does not seem to have any ER doctors, and ER nurses seems to be playing her phone all night.

Don’t get me wrong, I know that there are resources constraints, but having a better system is necessary.

On the screen it said a wait time of 58 mins, ended up not leaving for 7.5 hours. Very slow wait time in emerge. Terrible experience.

Came here in an ambulance after getting some kind of food poisoning from an Arbys sandwich. As soon as the doctors heard I ate an Arbys sandwich I was rushed to the ER. If it were not for the skilled doctors at Grand river hospital I would have died in that Arbys.

Trying find information seems you can't find in a needle in haystack that's important your stuck on calling loop just find out its close when im not wanting this. Just wanting a simple information on website or email about my appointment for my mental health.

This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been to. Abusive (verbally and yes, physically). Incompetent. Lazy. Takes 1.5 hrs to get my medication. Half an hr to get a drink of water. Horrible, rude and cocky doctors. I’m disgusted by their behaviour. One nurse tells me one thing and another one tells me the complete opposite. No one really knows what they are doing. Health care needs to change. If you’re stressed or overworked or burnt out, maybe take a break, do some self care or consider another line of work. Nurses and doctors work for us. They are supposed to be there to help us. Compassion should be a requirement of the job. Btw-I know there are plenty of wonderful, kind, thorough and caring nurses and doctors out there. There just needs to be more of them.

Negative 5 stars. Place is a joke, buddy fell out of his wheelchair pleading for help multible times and no buddy rushed to him so sad we pay for this.

Well, if you want to see an example of staff taking advantage of being part of the health system but actually doing nothing, then go to GRT. I see staff taking 12 hours shift with efficiency of 1 hour.they are just there wasting time chating and admitting 1 patient every 5 hours. To be fair, not all staff like that. I really appreciate the attempt done from few of the nurses and the volunteers to offset the doing of other staff and that is the reason for my 2 starts

If you want to die without any help from the hospital- this is the perfect hospital to go to.

I have come here maybe 4-5 times, every time I have come I have waited 5-10 hours for them to be 100% useless.

I am here now, waiting, 5 hours on the dot, they dont even have a tums to give me for heart burn never mind the actual life threatening problems I have.

This is the Trudeau Government for you - give us your money, we will pretend to help you but actually you will die long before we do anything for you.

Great doctors, nurses and intake staff. Clearly an overwhelming population of people needing a hospital. Long wait in emergency, my first time in an emergency room in about 10 years, seemed third world compared to my last visit. So many sick people they can't clean up fast enough. Dirty hallways and floors. There was what looked like a covid swab laying on the floor of the room we got. Very disappointed in our leaders and in all of us for accepting less and less from our government. It's time someone figured out what we need to do to fix things like this. I'd pay a quality of life tax if it actually gave us what the rest of the world thinks we already have.
I'm sure we got top notch medical care, but as a province, and a country, we haven't been able to solve the overwhelming of our medical system in years? What gives, Fordy? And T, don't you have some responsibility to get the buy in from Provinces for change? If you have no influence then get out of the way for someone who can get things done and manage more effectively. You guys seem to be just running around the bowl making the drain flush quicker. I could probably do as bad a job as you guys without even trying.

The website is not user friendly. I am looking for a hematologist in the hematology department. I'm looking for a list of doctors and I can't find a list anywhere. I can't find the department, or a list of ddpts. Website needs work big time!

I honestly with I could give this place less than one star. You only get good treatment if you’re in labour. Imagine going to the hospital bc you drank too much at 16 and you’re freaking out asking for your parents and begging them to let me call my mother while also begging the very disgusting male security/officer to please leave your room bc of your trauma and instead getting punched and choked by him:). Everytime I have gone to this hospital for drinking too much, hurting myself or getting hurt I have received the absolute most awful care and treatment from lower level staff. I have gone to other hospitals in Ontario and received amazing help and care for the exact same things. Have asked other hospitals about my treatment at this hospital and they were absolutely disgusted as well as me and my family. If I’m being fully honest, some of the staff is absolutely amazing but others genuinely do not deserve to be working with other people as they clearly only work in the hospital so that they can hurt people. To most of the female staff, thank you for your help but you all need to start standing up for people and stop ignoring peoples trauma. Thank you.
