The crews onsite are actually great. However, big issues with storing items. Was promised (and paid for) heated indoor storage. In fact majority of items had been stored in outdoor storage container.

Several lost items, when I reached out neither Jesse or Nicole responded. I left several messages or emails for both.simply didn't respond.

My hot tub was particular disappointment. They damaged the cover, broke the cover lifter and lost the stairs, and other covers for filter.

They did several trips from us. On two separate occasions they showed up and began unloading items which did not belong to me.

Biggest frustration, absolutely no response when enquired on missing or damaged items.

This was my husband and I's first time using a moving company. Peng and Shaggy were great! They were very professional and we were pleasantly surprised with how quick it took to get out stuff packed and unpacked with them!

They are amazing. I got my hot tub moved by them today. The move was very difficult and hot tub being 900 pounds. They were very professional, respectful knowledgeable and hard working. So glad I hired them.

Very fair pricing and penh, Shaq & shaggy were amazing. All furniture was wrapped and nothing was damaged and my freshly painted house did not have a scratch. Would definitely recommend!

Great guys at this company. They really take care of your house. Wrapping all furniture no matter if its old or new. Packing up your home. Taking care of everything you need for a move, wont have to lift a single finger. Great group of hardworking guys, I would highly recommend. Will defiantly be using them again.

Heard the owner would not release my friends furniture and boxes until she paid double the fees and got another mover because they felt they could extort money from a single mom over 40. Unbelievably horrible.

We hired Grand River Moving for our move in April 2023. Due to our new house being a new-build, the date for our move ended up changing 3 times- and Grand River was accommodating for each change we made. They were punctual with their arrival, and took caution to wrap and protect our valuables. Would use this company again!

I can't express how much of a pleasure this move has been the thoughtful and courteous manner in which I was received put my many concerns at ease. Worst moving company ever! Not reliable at all my move was scheduled between 12pm -2pm. Team showed up at 5: 30pm. Took a very long time to load truck finish at 11: 45pm by this they were out of hours to continue work. Had to sleep at hotel with my 2 young babies and they promise to start the move again next day for 9am and they turn up at 1: 30pm. SMH they even lost 4 of our chair foot! WORST COMPANY!

In late December 2022 we sold our home and had approx 30 days to move out.   Part of the sale included getting rid of 2 fridges, stoves and freezers, couch, loveseat, hutch and other heavy items in our basement/shed.   We are seniors and needed help moving these items to the front of our house for a pick up.   We were on a "time crunch" and called Grand River Moving to see if they could help.   Thankfully they could.

They sent over two excellent workers named Fuller and Luis.    These two men were respectful, polite, hard working and professional.   They protected my property while moving tons of large/heavy items for us.   They put down mats and were extremely careful with the areas that I was concerned about.

Because of this "move within our home" I got a quote from Grand River Moving for our official move.   After I received the quote I realized I understated the items I needed to bring with us.    I called the office and they explained what extra charges I would incur based on their hourly rate.

We requested Fuller and Luis back for this "full move" but sadly they were not available.   Peng and Vaishagh were sent instead.   These two men were also wonderful.   Before starting we went through the billing and my expectations for this move.   They were polite, considerate, hard working and extremely careful with our property.

As expected it took more time than originally quoted.   The total price was still lower than the other quotes we received.   Both teams arrived on time which made our day easier.

I would like to thank Fuller, Luis, Peng and Vaishagh for all your hard work.

We booked Grand River Moving for our move this week. They showed up right at 9am as we had discussed.

Peng and Vaishagh were fantastic! They worked very hard and were meticulous about the job at hand. They made our day as easy as it could be, while being polite and funny.

I would happily recommend Grand River Moving to my friends and family, especially Peng and Vaishagh!

My wife and I called grand river moving 2 weeks before our move-in date. They replied quickly and were able to schedule our move on our preferred date and at the time we wanted. When the movers arrived they were quick, efficient and professional. They made our moving day a lot less stressful. Thank you grandriver moving for all your help! Would recommend them.

I have waited 6 weeks before writing this review. Grand River moved me on October 25,2022. Despite the men getting to me an hour and a half after the contracted time, they were very efficient.
However one of my dining room chairs had it's leg broken, and I was assured that this would be fixed and returned to me. After following up with calls an then an email, I subsequently received a response - they would not be able to repair the chair, and so would return it to me, along with a reasonable reimbursement to cover the cost of repair.
I am satisfied with this possible solution, I received the reimbursement, and look forward to receiving my item.

We had Obie, Jordon, Chris and Emanuelle move us out of our walk up apartment and into a house and they were fantastic and super efficient! They even had a truck breakdown in the morning on the way and still made amazing time for the move!

Don't hire these guys!
They were supposed to be on site at 8 am but they showed up at 10. Around noon one of them didn't feel good and left. The driver left to pick up another labourer and didn't get back until after 3 pm. They only ended up getting about 1/3 of our belongings.
I called the driver then next morning and he told me he was off. I called the office 10 times through the day, left several messages for Jessie, the sales manager, and got no answer the entire day.
I never heard from them again and the experience cost me almost $1,000.
Oh yes the driver asked me for a tip and a 5 star review lol.

Run from this company, unless you want drunk movers that show up 4 hrs late with zero communication. Was offered $100 off but never received it. They also trap you with a low quote including 2 movers. But I was forced to have 3 movers to make it “faster” meanwhile it took longer.

We moved the contents of our house into 2 separate storage units on a very hot and humid day. Jamie and Hamidi were awesome and very organized. They took extra care not to damage any walls, trim or hardwood floors and wrapped all the furniture with blankets and tape. They followed our instructions very well and always provided solid solutions when obstacles were encountered. They also offered us good advice when organizing and arranging the itens in our storage units. We were very pleased with Grand River Moving and would recommend thier services.

Just moved a 3 bedroom home. Due to a family emergency we were not fully packed at the time the move started. The movers (Tony and Jaimie) were very accommodating to our situation and moved our boxes as we had them ready. Nothing was damaged and the movers worked professionally and efficiently. Price came in about 20% below the next lowest quote that we were given. Overall very satisfied.

I was extremely happy using Grand River Moving. I originally hired another company who decided to cancel less then 24hrs before I had to move and Grand River Moving was there to pick up the slack. They understood the situation and the stress I was under since i have a family of 4 and they had a truck come as soon as they could. The crew that they had were very kind, professional and fast. I waited to write this review, because the day of the move and even the week after is always stressful and I wanted to have clarity before posting this. I have mixed feelings about our move, which is why I’ve given a neutral 3-star review. I certainly wouldn’t bash this company, but I’m not sure I would hire them again either. For reference our movers were Jamie, Alex & Sean. We were quoted 6-8 hours (3 movers @ $170/hour), 1.25 hours travel time and an $80 fuel charge. This quote was based on an additional stop that we were supposed to make to pick up more items, but we cancelled that stop so the time estimate decreased to more like 5-6 hours. In the end, our move cost us $1,483.10 – 7.25 hours @ $170/hour (6 hours move + 1.25 hours travel) + $80 fuel + HST.

CONS:

- They were 45 minutes late; our move was booked for 8: 30am and they arrived at 9: 15am. We weren’t charged for the period that they weren’t there, just be prepared for some flexibility in your expected start time.

- We were offered to purchase mattress covers for $12 each when I called and booked our move with Nicole. None were provided on the moving day. No fee was applied either, so they completely forgot. We have expensive mattresses, so this was disappointing.

- They brought 1 wardrobe box, instead of the 3 wardrobe boxes that would cover approx. 12 ft of closet space, that I was told in an email from Nicole that they were bringing. We had to shove our clothes into some dirty boxes and into moving blankets to bring them over. We had to re-wash/dry clean almost everything.

- No runner mats were used at the old house, and I had to ask for them to be used at the new house (requested this when I booked). They didn’t have enough mats for everywhere once I asked, so we did end up with some scuffing on our hardwood at our new house. Just something to note for future clients – ask for this when the movers are there, don’t expect it to be done or that they’ll have enough to cover. No booties worn.

- The distance from our old house to our new house is 22 minutes. Movers told us they were stopping for coffee and would meet us there, so we shouldn't follow behind them like we planned. On the way to the new house I picked them up 3 large pizzas and more cold water bottles, but they didn't show up until over 1 hour and 15 minutes later. Turns out they ended up stopping for lunch. This would have been fine, except they didn’t communicate that and we were also charged for this additional time on our bill. We were never advised that we were to pay for their lunch time, multiple breaks and additional drive time since they took an alternate route. If clients are to cover the above noted items, this should be discussed and agreed to upon booking, this would ease client frustration.

- The one employee, I think it was Sean? , spent over an hour putting together two bed frames (very basic and easy to put together frames). I told them I would do it myself, but there was a communication breakdown and he did it without me realizing. So two guys were doing the majority of the unpacking while he did that. It would have been faster for my husband and I to put them together ourselves. We also felt bad for the two guys who did the majority of the unloading.

PROS:

- When I booked the move with Nicole, I was very clear that we were moving into our forever home and would rather the movers take their time than work fast and scratch/dent anything. They did a tremendous job with this (minus the floor scuffing from lack of mats). Everything was wrapped carefully, not a single broken item, paint chip, wall dent, etc. I was super impressed with the care that they put into it. This is truly the most important part to me and this is what brought them up to a 3 star.

- All three movers that we had were friendly and experienced. I know they have a hard job, so I always provide food, cold water and a good tip at the end. They were all appreciative and they really did work their buts off that day.

- They were bang on with their quote, see above for more info

I called Grand River the night before my planned move after all the help I had planned on fell through. With less than 24 hours notice, they found an incredible crew, and literally SAVED THE DAY! Everyone from Nicole answering the phone and soothing my rattled nerves, to the crew, moved heaven and earth to make my move possible. I could not be more grateful for the incredible effort of each member of the crew. We will be calling you, in advance! For all future moves!

UPDATE: They did reach out to me on May 1 to offer a half hour back.
The point I am trying to make is that I FEEL PERSONALLY that the guys were extremely SLOW. I didn’t have that much stuff. I even made 3 trips myself before the movers came. When I moved from Toronto to Cambridge the entire move took 3 hours INCLUDING travel. The ONLY extra piece I had was the King mattress and that was not a problem to move. When I moved from Toronto to Cambridge it took a TOTAL of 3 hours for the same amount of stuff and that cost me $600. I moved less than 5 KMs this time and it took almost 4 hours and I was charged almost $900. One positive is they didn't damage anything!

At a moment when everything was falling apart Nicole was our saviour! We had to abandon our moving truck in the rain and when I called Nicole for help, I was hoping someone could come tomorrow. She sent out a three man crew right away! They unpacked the truck, the boxes, returned the truck and EVEN WALKED THE DOG! When my infirm sister couldnt open the door to let them in they did not give up! They kept me updated and carefully finshed the move, returned the truck AND brought my sister's car back to her. I wish I could do more to promote this company, they were phenominal!

I had a terrible experience with this company. I booked them for 0930 on a Saturday. No one showed up. I attempted to call, email and go to the office, with no reply until 2pm. I had to rebook them for Monday at 0900. They arrived an hour late. I requested to speak to a manager, and a sales guy called me and completely dismissed me. The movers caused severe damage to our home and furniture. I have never experienced such awful customer service for a service I paid for. I do not suggest this company for anyone!

The trio of Lum, Fadi and Tony did an awesome job of moving my stuff. All things were safe under their hands. They were friendly and took extra efforts to quickly finish the moving. I was surprised that they finished quickly. Jesse helped with the coordination and one of the most friendly guys I worked with. They didn't arrive in time.were around 5 hours late but made it up later in the evening with quick transportation.

My tenant was supposed to move out on a weekday, a service that was agreed upon well in advance of the move date. On the day of the move, that tenant finally called Grand River Moving Services Kitchener approximately 20 minutes after they were supposed to be here, to be told that "the people before you had more stuff, so we'll be there at 3". She told them that she only had the elevator at her new condo booked until 430, and could absolutely not move in after that time. They assured her that everything would be fine, and that they would "send an extra person" to speed up the process.

After 3 PM, she called again and was told that they would be there shortly. At 340, she called again, and again. At this point, they stopped answering her phone calls. Finally, somebody phoned her back and said they would be there at 4: 20, to which she replied that she was no longer able to move.

In spite of the fact that I had other tenants scheduled to move in first thing Saturday morning, I asked them to hold off (they were gracious enough to do so) so that my tenant could move out at about 12 pm on Saturday, a time agreed to by Grand River Moving Services. Two movers did show up around the agreed upon time. When I arrived at the house to check on the progress, I was annoyed to see the movers in the house with no masks on. When I asked the tenant to request them to put their masks on, they replied that, "It's not mandatory for small jobs like this". Excuse me?

After the move, I understand that the company offered a 100 dollar reimbursement for the trouble, but when my tenant had to email them back 4 times over the week, they told her she was impatient and that they would etransfer immediately because of this impatience. She sent a harshly worded response, and was told to never contact them again, that she was not getting the reimbursement, and in the future, to say Thank You when somebody was doing her a favour.

All things considered, a harshly worded response from this poor woman to this extremely unprofessional and unsafe (no mask in a small house) sorry excuse for a company is not what should be under examination here. Would never recommend this to any tenant, or anyone, period.

UPDATE: Unfortunately for you, Grand River Moving, I was privy to all emails and conversations, including that your movers did not wear masks because it was not required. I have seen the emails that you claim were insulting and contained curse words, and I'm amazed that you would a) lie about such a thing and b) offer to share a customer's email. The "insult" that you're claiming is in your response to referring to my tenant was "impatient" after receiving no followup to your initial email offer.

Your further email today, which I have also seen, is derogatory and insulting. The fact that you are willing to violate a customer's privacy to share their email is disgusting, and you schoolyard "We're not going to stand for this" is childish.

Your negative reviews that all have a common theme speak for themselves. Your assertion that I am lying because I am not your customer is unfounded. I have the emails and the phone calls and the texts, thanks to my tenant. If you wish to make a big deal about me engaging in libel, please feel free to have your lawyer reach out. Unlike my tenant, I certainly consider it to be worth my time to call out scam businesses such as yours.

PS, yelp "not recommended" reviews-a bunch of 5 star reviews from bots in the States.

FINAL UPDATE: The response from the owner has been edited to omit a bunch of lies that they were telling. The situation DID require a third-party review, as your poor business practices also impacted my business. At least my former tenant was able to have the situation resolved, and I'll know to dissuade any future tenants from using your "service" in the future.

I specifically asked Nicole, who is the office administrator for the Grand River Moving Service, to ensure that the movers at ‘ Good Boys Moving’ have either booties for their shoes or if they could put down pad runners throughout the upstairs of the condo I was moving into. I had just had the carpets professionally cleaned.

Nicole from Grand River Movers, had assured me they had runners and basically suggested that, that was a common practice for the movers to follow. I didn’t think anything of it.

When the two men from Good Boys Moving showed up … the one was smoking a cigarette as he was eyeballing the stuff to move, which left me with a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. Then they had complained to me about not having the unit number to the Condo written down, which had nothing to do with me, but rather the clerical staff who took the information to the move. They stated they were hoping to ‘get my move over with quickly’ as they wanted a ‘ short day’ and complained while loading the truck as to how ‘hard the move was and how hot it was’. The one gentleman walked by me in my home - I was moving from and took it upon himself to use my washroom without permission. Also, the same guy took his sweaty shirt and put it over my fan, which I was moving but they took it upon themselves to turn it on and use as they moved my items. Gross and yes.that means he was shirtless! Yuck.
They put their lunch in my fridge without my permission. Had no masks and no sanitizer on them. They did not practice social distancing. When they finally ended up getting to my condo I was moving into they flat out said … ‘ we have two runners and that’s it! ’ ‘We are not putting them down as we move and or covering our shoes! ’ The way they had said this to me was flat out rude, disrespectful and unprofessional and when I took - issue with this, they slammed the door shut to the moving truck and turned the keys to the ignition and basically said ‘ pay now or we leave with your stuff! ‘ I honestly never experienced anything like this before in my life! It was almost comical if not so ruthless, callous and traumatizing.

I took video of this occurring - because I seriously couldn’t believe the unprofessionalism and demeanour of these two men.

I had every intention of paying them, I just wanted the job done as discussed with Nicole at Grand River Movers. Looking back I kind of saw the red flags- but chose to ignore them - so it’s more my fault. When I had called a month in advance to book my move, the gentleman at Grand River Movers, named Jesse, sounded under the influence. It was the Friday of the beginning of the August long Weekend and had given my Credit Card information for the deposit, he assured me I would receive an email with the information. I never did receive it. I had to call him back and ask (which was awkward to begin with) and he had stated it ‘ was the beginning of the long weekend ‘ and to basically wait for it to come via email on Tuesday and hung up on me. I called back again and Nicole said that, that was wrong information and ‘of course I can send the confirmation email. ’
Do yourself a favour- spend the extra and get a quality, respectable, kind, professional company that complies with Covid: 19 Protocols to help you with your move! Grand River Moving Service and Good Boys Moving isn’t it!

What I experienced yesterday was the worst professional mistake that I have ever encountered. I booked Grand River Movers based on the great reviews that I saw and the fact that they seemed (seemed being the key word!) a larger and more professional company. I had them booked for the afternoon to move me to my new house and paid them a one hour deposit that was of course taken from my visa only to find out that on the day of the move they simply DID NOT SHOW UP or reply to my 20+ calls, emails and visit to the office. My moving day is a disaster! I am stuck on a holiday in the middle of a pandemic with no movers, no chance to rent a truck, no help and a one day time frame to leave the old house. This is unacceptable behaviour considering the fact that my money was taken and they did not even have the courtesy to call to cancel. I am not one that wastes my time on negative reviews but as a professional entrepreneur myself I will take my time and make sure to post this on all my social media to warn people. At the end of the day I should have gone with a small business and supported them instead of this heartless franchise. Do yourself a favour and don't book with them!

Two stars for the men who moved us. They were personable, experienced and hard working.
ZERO stars for management Moving date booked well in advance, down payment made, start time agreed upon. We waited 2 hours outside our storage unit. We finally drove to their office to find 7 labourers sitting around the moving trucks waiting for the boss to show up to send them to their jobs. Someone in the group finally stepped up and sent two brothers to complete our move.

The movers were great. They were able to change the time last minute, which was convenient. The day of the move went smoothly and the movers were professional and friendly. Alex was very communicative with what was going on throughout the day and we were very happy with all the gentlemen who moved our belongings as nothing was damaged.

Just heard about someone who had been totally "stood-up" by this company (yet they had no problem accepting the deposit they requested). They were totally unresponsive when trying to contact them. Go with a company a little more reputable!

Edit: Although I just "heard" this, perhaps Grand River Moving should consider the best advertising/reviews are through peoples experiences and word of mouth. I posted this review, because what I "heard" was totally "unprofessional" and I deemed important to pass along. The customer cannot always be wrong, and if I do "hear" of someone being treated in a manner like this I will pass it along. People are smart enough to fact check themselves if they don't believe it.

I have used this company 3 times now for a reason- I trust them. Plus! We actually had a pile of fun. Who knew moving could be fun! The following was from 3 years ago! "The men who helped move me were incredible. ‎ The way they managed the new place and the stairs was close to unbelievable. I don't know how I will ever get out of here again, but I know who to call. I spent months worrying and stressing about my move day, I was thankful that I hired movers initially but I had never used movers before so was very unsure and did not know what do expect. These guys worked so fast while wrapping up all of my belongings, they even individually bubble wrapped all of my art work. Extremely impressed and thankful for Darian, and Ray, and for Nicole in the office for being so helpful and kind throughout every conversation!

So we booked our move in January with Grand River, we were very pleased to be met with the respect and hard work from the staff. We had Ray and Clayton on our move and they were a couple of hard working, delightful individuals. They were fast, efficient, and right on par with the quote we received from Nicole. They padded and wrapped everything we needed, disassembled and reassembled all of our furniture, and overall were very kind throughout. HIGHLY recommended!

We have dogs and there was dust/dog hair on the furniture that they were going to move. They refused to move us.they cited that it could transfer on their moving pads to somebody else's furniture and they straight up ghosted us and weren't going to return my calls. I gave them the easy way out and texted them. They still gave no definitive answer if the team was going to show up again during our regularly hired slot.they showed up earlier than expected by request and I granted that request. Then they left and said that they weren't going to come back. Ended up hiring another company I was going to provide an extra man for the same hourly rate and was hired in less than 10 minutes with a deposit.

I asked one of the workers if they were just going to leave and their answer was well did you give us a deposit? Clearly the answer was because I hadn't give them the deposit they chose to freely not engage with us as a customer.it is their right but my warning to anyone is that if you have a dog or a cat or any dust in your house everything better be absolutely smitten span before you call this company or they will refuse to move you.

Hired this company to move on a Friday afternoon, booked between 2-4pm. They showed up at 4: 40pm & later tried to charge me for a 4pm start.
They left the majority of my boxes & items in the garage & living room because they were SO slow. Lots of complaining, eye rolling & sighing. I was really surprised by the lack of professionalism.
Lastly, I realized the day after I'd moved that I was missing the leather cushion for my LazyBoy sofa. I called the company, emailed the owner & NEVER heard a response. I wondered if it was left on the truck but no one could even be bothered to return my messages. That was really disappointing.

Thought I should share my Experience with you in regards to the Move from Cambridge to Woodstock. Feb 2020.
I called and requested a Quote in December. I did receive a quote over the phone and Email From Jesse who is the General Manager and not the Owner.
I did explain to him that we would have all the small items moved, and all they had to worry about was the Large Furniture Items.
Dressers, Couches, Beds etc, nothing small.
So we went ahead and booked the Mover as they came in Cheaper than 2 other Moving Companies, and they were also 5 mins down the Road from us. Which I thought would be great.
The Move was booked for 9.30, they showed up at 9.45, but did not make it into my Place to actually start moving until just after 10am.
When we first got into my place they pull out the Contract to sign and they went through it with me, and if they go over the quoted time then I will have to pay the Extra Time.
My thought was, what is the point of a quote if you can still charge if you go over the quoted time, which was 6hrs as per Jesse's quote.
I called Jesse, to ask the question. His response was did you read the fine print.
We proceeded with the move, and it took from just after 10am to 2.30pm to load the Truck up, Way too long in my Books as I have moved a fair amount of times due to my Job.
We left Cambridge at 2.30pm, and I drove straight to Woodstock.
The Movers did not show up until 4.30pm.
Once Again I called Jesse at 4pm to Inquire where the Truck was.
They were 10 mIns away.
When they showed up, I insisted I help move the Items into my house, as I believed they were stretching their time out, and knowing that anything over the Quoted time. That I would be charged for it anyway.
It turns out they had a 1hr Lunch.
And when the Movers showed up we could smell Alcohol on one of the Movers Breath. Health and Safety?
So we were unloaded in 1 hr, which I think was only to me giving them a hand.
When all was said and done, I had a few scratches on a few items which I am not concerned about, also a Mark on the Floor in my Kitchen where they just pushed and pulled my Heavy Buffet and Hutch.
But as we are doing some Reno's it is not a big concern for us.
Then came the time for the Payment, there was an extra hour on the Invoice.
I called Jesse before I made the payment, which is made over the phone.
As my concern was about the extra time I believe they took, he said he was busy and I need to Pay the Invoice and he would discuss it with me in the next few days. That was Monday.
I waited until Thursday to call him again, and at that point he said put it in an Email and he will go to the Owner to Discuss. Which I have.
It will be 2 weeks on Family Day 2020. I have not had any Response in anyway shape or form. I have left 2 Voicemail Messages and 2 Emails in Regards to what is listed in this Review.
I am also missing 2 Legs from my Couch, and I have addressed that with Jesse on the VoiceMail and Email.
To request they check the Truck and ask the Movers to check as well.
Still no Response to the missing feet.
I would expect some sort of acknowledgement from this Company, but nothing.
It is your decision on how you read my Review, but next time I will be having a written quote with the Next Moving Company I use. And have them come out to quote before making a Decision.
It will not be Grand River Moving.

I would like to add an additional comment on my Initial review.
I have spoken with Nicole from GRAND RIVER MOVING over the last week.
She has refunded me the equivalent amount for the time I had mentioned previously back onto my C/C. Which me and my Wife are happy with.
I am still missing my 2 feet for my Couch, which Nicole is still working on, on her end.
Unfortunately I have still not had any Response back for the "General Manager" in regards to the issues I have had.

So thank you Nicole for your help so far. Maybe time for a Promotion Nicole!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Everything was good with the move until I set up my TV and realized they broke it during the move. Company completely absolved themselves of any responsibility and had the audacity to suggest it was broke before the move. Will never use again - and will let my network know they are not to be trusted.

Damage to many items, careless behaviour, and the company contract protects the company, ABSOLVING them of all responsibility.
Their quote was less than other professional movers but for good reason. Their loaders were wonderful to start. Packed and loaded the house in Paris, drove to Bracebridge to unload into a storage facility. We paid for overnight accommodations. While unloading at the storage place one of the loaders became increasingly agitated. He started pushing and cramming our items into the space. When finished, heavy boxes were on top of fragile boxes as well as on top of fine furniture. Our tread mill was wedged between an iron headboard, and several heavy items were stacked on top of each other near the roof of the locker and left ‘teetering’ dangerously above.
When we returned to the locker we found MANY damaged items. The tread mill was broken, many pieces of furniture were scratched and gouged, and who knows what still awaits us when we empty the rest of the locker in April.

I have responded to your email quite some time ago however it may have ended up in your junk/spam folder for some reason. As per the agreement you signed while moving with us, in order for coverage on claims to be applicable, the claim must be submitted in writing no more than 30 days after the move. With that being said you have also moved these items yourself out of the unit at which time the damages could have likely occurred. I apologize for being unable to do anything for you due to the circumstances however it is our policy preventing my ability to do so. Wishing you all the best.

There was no response in my junk box. How can a claim be sent within 30 days if we weren’t moving things out within that time period? And if we did move anything to examine it, they wouldn’t cover it anyway because WE moved it! Clearly this has been an ongoing issue with this company and they have figured out a way to absolve themselves of any responsibility. Kudos to you. As per the owner’s response. Hmmm. Just how was I supposed to examine my entire household items crammed into a 10x20‘ storage locker? Lol! I’d have to move every item out, but then wait! - I would have moved them so that would violate the agreement. Sorry folks, can’t win with this one. Is it me? GRM Got me! Lol.

The move was excellent. Darian and Alex arrived on time, were courteous and friendly, efficient and made the move for my elderly mother a very stress free experience, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend them.

It STARTED AS A 1 AND ENDED UP AS A 3

They were very professional over the phone and quite accommodating. I thought they were going to be a good company. Time was booked for 9 to 9: 30. I called at 9: 40 ish to get the ETA. The man that answered the phone said 2 guys called in sick so had to bring 2 in from their days off. He saud they would be here 20. I assumed that meant 20 min. Still waiting and it is now 12: 20. Not impressed. Not even another phone call from them. I have called multiple times starting at 9: 50. Not one call back. I will update when and if they arrive.

Was contacted by someone. Dispatcher so they said, and was informed the truck would be here around 2p.m. The driver also called around 1: 30 to say the would be here approx. 2. Will update again with further information. If they show, their competency on the actual move etc.

The truck arrived at 2p.m. As promised the by the dispatcher and driver. The 2 moving guys were amazing and so much so we ended up tipping them. The Dispatcher also dropped in to do a PR stop due to the huge fowl up in the scheduling.

Tips: talk to dispatch the day before your move. Seems to me they are the only ones that knows what's what.

Will I use them again most likely as the moving itself went off without a hitch. Just don't assume the office, other then the dispatcher, knows the stuff needed to get the job done right. Thanks to the drivers and dispatch for turning things around and making a really bad situation turn good.

Note to Manager. They need a huge pat on the back and acknowledgment of an amazing job. As well if you do not know then do not just shoot whatever from the lips to appease a customer. And definitely don't say you are talking to someone to get the information when you are not. If you don't know or you forget to pass information or. Own it. If you don't all it does is make your company look disreputable and unreliable.

Just wanted to rave about our experience with Grand River Moving. The crew was Zeon, Fuller and Jerome. These guys were fabulous, super quick and extremely careful. Let's face it, moving is a tough job and stressful.

5 Stars! Best company ever, I had the best experience with them! My movers were incredible they took such good care of my stuff and when they showed up they made sure to make all my stress melt away, not only the movers but the girls In the office were so sweet and understanding! I have to admit I called many times as I have had a very bad experience with movers in the past but the girls made sure I didn't feel like a bother and made also made all my stress melt away I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you so much grand river moving for being there for me and moving me! Much appreciated!

Booked them to move two houses - Kitchener & Guelph into a condo. Selected them because the estimate for hours and materials was 25% lower than the other big guys, and they came in on estimate. 2 lamps that got broken during storage were compensated fairly. The 3 teams that moved us were friendly and efficient. All-in-all, well pleased, and would recommend them.
