Grants Your Independent Grocer

As a single person trying to make it after everything went up twice as much, it is hard to buy food. It's your bills or eat. You want us to shop local, but the only people that are getting the deals are the rich or people who can buy bulk. What about the rest of us, seniors, students, etc. Buy three to get a deal, why not one when we can't hardly afford one but forced to pay full price because we can buy three.
It's greedy of all you stores to do this to the people.
Us poor could care less about points, make it fair for everyone.

In Hanover, we are limited on choice for groceries. While I like many of the president choice products, which is what will bring me here for some of my groceries, I do find that in general, the prices on all grocery items are higher here. So for many items I shop at other stores I town.

Great place to find sales on meat items. Lots to choose from product wise, very helpful and usually friendly staff. Clean store, with lots of stock.

A really nice experience here, and the selection is very large. Friendly staff here as well which makes the shop experience even better.

Normally a good shopping experience was wrecked by finding out the yoghurt we bought on the 24th had expired on the 20th. Hard not to feel set up by the store when the client is the last barrier of defence.

One of the first thing you will notice when you shop here is the staff. They are everywhere throughout the store always busy. They are always so friendly and willing to àssist you with fiinding what you are looking for. Amazing local food choices too. They just got in the self-scan zone too! I personally choose the interaction of the staff because they care that I am shopping there. Mr. Grant is always around the store greeting customers and helping them with whatever they need. The fact that they clearly display the flag of the LGBTQ+ showing that everyone is welcome tells me this is a wonderfully inclusive place to shop and work. It's not always the prices that keep me going back, its the indelible fact that I am appreciated and valued. This store surely is a beacon for other stores to see.

Dwayne went out of his way to make sure I got all I need, he went back to the grocery department while I was at the checkout already and brought me my delicious cantaloupe I was missing. Thanks Dwayne your the best for customer service!

Usually I'd rate this store highly but when I was there yesterday it was like they were herding cattle. Long barrier set up so someone could decide for everyone which teller to go to. Plastic chute set up at entrance as if there were going to be dozens of people lining up. Bad experience, and for what?

Love the grocery stores that change the dates on products so we think its fresh. Just want everyone to know this store does it alot.

Overall, not a clean store and the owner, though well meaning I assume, doesn't understand safety risks to his customers - he fixates on the most abstract and ignores the certain.

I stumbles apon this grocery store on my travels one day from dundalk and i wish it was closer. They had such a great selection

This is usually where we shop when we are visiting town. On our way in on our most recent visit, we watched someone go in the door (without realizing it was a staff member) so we followed her and she got quite upset with us. The process for going in - following one way traffic, washing hands, etc makes sense, but we feel she could have been a bit more polite in her directions for people who are new. In terms of actual grocery, the store has a great variety of brands and items and the produce and baked goods are usually quite good! We were able to find everything we wanted as the store is very clean and well organized. There were one-way traffic markers on the aisle floors, but very few people followed the directions and the directions were not being reinforced by staff. That made for a frustrating experience. On our way out, our cashier was absolutely lovely - even opened our eggs to make sure they weren't broken. Overall, a good staple in the community for groceries but a few people could be a bit more mindful of customer service.

Decent place to go shopping usually has some pretty good stuff they have the farmer's market brand pies and muffins and stuff and most stores don't have that anymore

Staff very friendly and courteous. We popped in for to pick up a few sale items and they were very well stocked.

Good quality produce! Very helpful staff! Proper restrictions in place. Access to store is easy. Lots of parking.

Love when I come to hanover this grocery store, has friendly staff. Prices are great. Loved their plant selection as well.

Always clean, usually has a very large selection, sales could be a bit better, but otherwise, prices are fairly good.

Has a great variety. I found my cauliflower bites there but unfortunately sold out of sushi Everytime I visited

Amidst Covid-19 Grants was very organized and still pleasant to shop in the store. Lots of direction from staff and aisles well marked - thank you to the Grant owner and team!

Great selection of fresh produce. I go here mainly to get sushi and fresh veggies, fruits, berries, salads, organic foods, organic juice, gluten free oatmeal, vitamins, and fresh fish. Friendly, fast, and organized service. I totally recommend it for groceries, easily the best selection in Hanover.

Persistently our of sale items. To the point that I believe it is intentional. Lot’s of excuses never results.

Have visited this store before and they have a great fresh Bulk Foods section. I am from Toronto but they had a still good variety. Great selection and it was clean. Candy wasn't available by weight but great selection still. A few days ago I was there and they had many empty bins. Not cleaned either. Suspect the person in charge is on holidays or only part-time or rushed.

All I can say is what an Amazing person John Grant is. I am up near his store where my father in law just past. He went out of his way to deliver the family a great dinner. It was very appreciated in these hard times. Thanks so much John for caring.

Great store for anything I need. Fresh produce and meats, delicious bakery, and a small but decently stocked pharmacy. Photo development and movie rental are a bonus!

The only store in Hanover which sells tuxedo cake. God bless this stote. The other places that sell it is Walmart in Port Elgin and most of grocery stores in GTA. NOONE wants the damn carrot cake, even if it's my only choice I am not buying it. 5/5 store, AMAZING chicken burgers and very tender chicken with LOTS of meat, good deals. Very clean and organized store.

Went to get the fresh cooked chicken dinner and end up getting a box full of burnt wedges that arnt even edible.waste of money! Learn to cook properly please

Great prices. Good customer service. Always large stock! I believe this is the only place in Hanover that still rents out their DVD’s as well.they’ve been doing this since I was a child!
